Minor League - Can I ask for an outfielder?
I'm managing in the minors and have no way to call up players. The GM of my organization took my center fielder nearly two weeks ago, and I only have two outfielders on my roster. I've been using an infielder in the outfield in the meantime, but how do I ask my organization for a #$*&$% outfielder since they've only left me with two?!?!
If this is something that normally happens in the minor leagues, then I apologize and appreciate the realism...but isn't it equally realistic that I could maybe point out that I haven't had enough outfielders to actually field a team for two weeks? Yes, this sometimes happens I never play manager only mode, though, I can see it might be fun. I assume, though, you never get the F/O giving you instructions or goals, like "train player A at 2b" or "use player B more"? |

I wanted to start in A ball and work my way up, and you don't get a choice when taking a job at that level. Another thread on here said that doing it this way can help new players get used to the game before jumping into a GM role.
Feel like I'm being promoted too quickly, though. Two seasons finishing dead last and 2nd to last in my division and I was promoted to AA and now AAA lol. Are the Tigers that desperate in real life too? It would be great if I got instructions like that - it would make me feel like I'm actually accomplishing something to benefit the organization! I'll just pretend that's why they keep promoting me haha Last edited by ShieldsCW; 06-25-2020 at 02:53 PM. |

Good suggestion, that wojld be helpful.
In the meantime, I assume you looked for a player with some outfield defensive ratings? You can try re-setting their position to OF and it will show you their arm/range/error ratings. One of the things I enjoy about managing the minors is seeing your best players again when you move up... at least you'll have another OF when you get promoted. I never got as many pitchers as I liked which was harder to fix ![]()
