Huge League

Guys, I need your opinion and expertise. I'm thinking about starting a brand new league with OOTP 16. I'm thinking of doing a 100 team league with 4 minor league teams plus an international complex, no feeders or any other international leagues.

I want to do two 50-team subleagues (5 Divisions, 10 teams each). One subleague to represent each of the 50 states from the US and the other subleague to represent 50 other different countries from all around the rest of the world.

I have a Core i5 3.20 GHz processor with 8 gigs of RAM and a 2TB hard drive. It runs Windows 7.

How smoothly do you think this league will run?

Thanks in advance for your help!

That's 500 teams. OOTP 15's standard setup with feeders has, I think, close to 400. The increase isn't monumental, though you might want to reduce the number of minor league levels to three or shorten their seasons.

In ootp 15 I ran the full majors, minors, and the complete ncaa D1(302 Teams) as feeders with no problems. About 600 teams total. It runs smooth enough for me on win7 64, 8g ram, amd fx6300 3.5g 6 core proc.

Won't it take ages to sim a day? It can take like 20 minutes to sim a season sometimes for me. 1 day will take like 30 seconds!

Back around 1993-94 I had a game called Front Page Sports Football, and my PC at the time had 1MB (yes, 1 megabyte) of RAM, and it would take it 8 hours to sim 1 week's worth of NFL games. I'd play out my team's game, let it sim the rest of the week at night while I was asleep, then do the following week (minus my team's game) the next day while I was at school. So, 2 simmed weeks per RL day, with a regular season taking 9 days to finish (including the bye).

So 30 seconds for 1 day? Doesn't sound that bad to me...
