Updating Stats
Is there an easier way to update career stats in the game or do you have to export the three files and then re-import? How do you best work with the CSV file (Do you open as a text file or open with Excel, etc). I am cleaning up statistics for players who have missing stats (Example John Mayberry Jr.) as well as filling in games started for all players / all years. I wish there was a way to update within the game or some sort of automation like once you update the games started in the fielding tab, it auto populates the games started in the hitters and pitchers tabs, driven by position in the fielding tab. Any ideas to make this easier?
Thanks |

Change the extension to .csv and open with excel. We're working on getting all the missing stats filled in. Maybe not by release but it should happen sooner rather than later. |

Keep a list of those MLB players missing stats and pm them to me else they may not get updated...
Mayberry for example is missing 2 yrs. of ML stats (2009-10) and I don't add ML stats. Only minor lg. stats...ML stats are added when Markus imports them from the lahman each yr. ![]() BTW: Mayberry Jr. has been updated Last edited by Bigrod; 02-24-2015 at 12:59 PM. |

Thanks - Will you also be adding minors statistics to the major league players? Looks like guys who have been in the majors for awhile like Cliff Lee, Kyle Kendrick and Marlon Byrd only have major league statistics? Also some players like Brad Lincoln have incomplete minor league statistics. I am working on a complete list as I update and will send them over. Thanks again!

As far as MLB players getting their Minor lg. stats added, It's something I've wanted to do and can by ootp 17 if Markus allows it. As for the incomplete stats: Players missing minors stats are because they were in the MLB that year and didn't show in the free agent or minor lg. rosters. I only do the minor lg. stats except for this yr. when I also had to do the 2014 MLB stats as well. For your list: Only include MLB players if they are missing MLB stats and Only minor league players if they are missing their minor lg. stats. Unless I missed some players, every minor leaguer & free agent born since 1986 or 84, as of ootp 12 or so (can't remember exactly when I did them or how far back I went), should have their complete minor lg. stats unless they were in some other lg. (Mexican, Int'l or Indy) the year I did those. It was a huge task that took over 300 hrs. to do so anything is possible.

Still having some issues with this. So I exported the files. Changed the format to CSV. Went in and updated games started in both the batting and the fielding files. But now how do I save it back in a format that can be uploaded back into OOTP. I first saved as a CSV file and it would not recognize that. Then I tried to convert it back to a TXT file and when I upload that it clears out all of the stats (I am trying this on a test league luckily haha). I think when I convert back to TXT it takes out the commas? Any ideas?

Not sure what to say. Changing back to a .txt shouldn't be an issue at all. The two formats are actually exactly the same structurally. It shouldn't take out the comma's. I do this regularly and haven't had an issue.
One thing that occurs to me, not sure what you mean by convert. All you need to do is simply to change the extension of the physical file, not to do a save as in your spreadsheet. |
