Playing as GM/Manager

Can we play as an actual GM/manager this year or do we still have to add ourselves?

I could answer this, however I am unsure if it would violate my non-disclosure agreement...so it would be best to have someone from OOTPD provide the information.

1. You will always have to "add" yourself to the game, OOTP will not ship with you in it.

2. You can already play GM/Manager, so not sure what exactly you mean.

Or do you want to play as say Tony Larussa or Tommy Lasorda?

If so, then add yourself under the name of your choice. You can even import their tendencies/strategies if you wish. (This is also in the game now)

Just like Madden is what I mean. Create a coach or take over an active one. I just want to be Robin Ventura. Or just pick Rick Hahn and be GM. That simple.

He means when we had to create a manager profile, then edit the name etc the "workaround" way.

The original will still be in game. Not to mention the option will be easier than any work around like deleting, renaming, setting tendencies.

No, you cannot "take over" a current manager and steal their history and so forth. You can add yourself as Robin Ventura, and delete the current Robin Ventura, but you will still start out as an "unproven" coach and will have no history in the league.

As GM & MGR will I have a contract and if the owner fires one does the other get fired?

Yes, you have a single contract. If you get fired, you're always fired from both jobs.

We should be able to do this in the future.

I don';t see why this would be an addition to the game? You can create a player exactly the same as yourself and a manager exactly the same as someone else why take over for their history though? What's the point?

I think the point would be to take over their history. There's nothing wrong with something like that being an option in the game.
