Really need more info about your team, your goals for this and next season. Are you in contention or not? How is your farm system, do you need to upgrade at other postions?

From what I can see your minor league replacement isn't ready yet...

Other than saying I don't think your minor leaguer is ready, I can't really give you anymore advice without more info

My question is should I wait until the trade deadline and trade for prospects or have his replacement (guy below) take his spot. I have also thought about signing him and putting Howell at 2nd and Fegan at SS. Your thoughts please. I could use the help.
I think you should lock him down for 4.7Mil. He is tried and tested and will produce. Your prospect will still take 1 more year in AAA before he will be ready. If you play him now, he wont reach his potential.

By the time the 4.7mil contract expires, your prospect will be ready to replace him.

Sign Fegan. He's a 9 WAR player. He hits like Jesus and I don't mean Matty's brother.

You'll find out how good Howell is soon enough. Fegan earns 9 WAR in seasons that he stays healthy. If and when he breaks, throw Howell into the mix.

have you played this prospect much?, I noticed he is fragile when it comes to durability. I have never had a fragile guy that was a good bet to play a full season, EVER. Giving up on the vet without a guaranteed lockdown everyday player may cost you 2 players, in the sense that one is always injured. So if that is the case, who is your 3rd, person in this possible outcome?

The prospect is rated as durable?
Personally I'd resign the guy, though your prospect may only be a year off.

Yeah, I just sent my other offer and he will accept. That was pretty much the going consensus. I know he is a future Hall of Famer but I was hoping to save money and get prospects for him. Maybe in another year. Again, thanks guys I really appreciate your help. That's why I love coming to this site for help.
