It also has happened for years if you tried to implement a double switch, but I just pretend that part of baseball never existed, because why throw something against the wall three times a day as opposed to once?
That certainly has to be frustrating. The OP stated a Win machine and Matt seems to think that was fixed.

If I had a mac I'd be sending a support ticket along with files and probably start a new thread with a title stating this still occurs on a mac.

It's continuing to happen when you look at posts from the previous two weeks. It's been an ongoing problem with this game.

I have submitted reports to Apple. I have even started threads on OOTP 20 citing the same thing. At some point, the creators can't just point the finger at Apple and shrug their shoulders.

It's not just Apple as I've had the issue using a PC. I've had it happen with and without confirm subs on so I don't think that's the fix. I basically have to play my seasons now as if injuries are turned off for my team

I'm just going to add a bump to this thread once a week.

Looking at the number of "bugs", it's clear they just focused the majority of their attention on Perfect Team. Something consumers should take into account when OOTP22 is for sale next year

Sorry for the problems, this is certainly an elusive issue.

Anyone who has seen this, if you can be as descriptive as possible as to what is going on, that will help us track this down and correct it. Most notably:

Are you playing out in 3d or 2d mode?
At what point exactly does the game crash? So if a player gets hurt on a play, does it immediately happen after the play, does it happen after the inning? Is it the same if a player is hurt and doesn't have to immediately be replaced vs cases where he does (ie. if it was the pitcher or fielder being hurt at the end of an inning, he doesn't have to be replaced until he bats or the next inning)
If an AI player got hurt, does it still have issues, or only if one of your players gets hurt?
Do you play with any non-default widgets shown on the game page? Or any non-default settings or setups?
Does it always happen if someone gets hurt, or are there some cases that seem to still proceed without issue?

I know we have fixed a couple cases earlier this year with issues, but obviously there's still a small percentage of players who still have some issues, so yes, it would be nice if we can track them down. The more specific information you can share, perhaps the better chance we have at narrowing down what is actually going on in these situations.

Replacing Injured Player Crash

The most recent occurrences as detailed as I can remember:

Astros vs. Orioles yesterday (6/4).
  • Coaching dialogue box asks me if I want to send Altuve around third from second on a single.
  • I click 'yes'
  • Play ends, presumably Altuve is out because the inning is over.
  • Game switches immediately to line up screen and prompts me to replace Altuve who, presumably is injured on the play.
  • I select an infielder and attempt to drag him into empty lineup slot vacated by Altuve.
  • Game crashes.

Indians vs. Royals, Thursday (6/3)
  • With one out, Jorge Soler is called out on strikes
  • Game switches to lineup screen and Soler's slot is empty, presumably because he was tossed for arguing the strike call
  • I click an outfielder and drag him to Soler's vacated slot
  • Game crashes

Under ordinary circumstances, I would uninstall the game and go watch real games on TV. Sadly, there is nothing ordinary in the world right now.

Please fix this.

I have had this happen to me a few times in my fictional league. Usually in a blowout game when I want to remove my starting pitcher after the 5th or 6th inning. IF it happens again, I will make sure to document the actions leading up to this occurrence.

For myself, I play in 2D.

It happens when I get to the substitution screen as soon as I drag the bench player to the position, the game crashes. There have been other instances, but they have been very sporadic.

It does not happen all of the time for me, roughly 50-60% of the time.

If an AI player gets hurt, there are no issues. Again, in 99% of the times my game has crashed, it has been when I dragged a player from the bench to replace someone.

It is not limited to injuries, because I have tried double switches and the same thing occurs.

It happens for me when playing in 2D mode. It only seems to crash when i have to remove the injured player mid inning. Right after i select the replacement player it crashes. I don't believe it's ever happened for an AI injury, only from my own team.

Nothing like being up 8-1 in a playoff game, then have this garbage happen, and when you restart, you lose 3-0.

Injured player

I have had this same problem for a while. PC version. Game crashes anytime I have a player injured during a game and try to replace him in the lineup. Doesn't matter if I click + or drag. Doesn’t matter if I have “confirm substitutions” selected or not. Doesn’t happen for normal substitutions, only when there is an injury. Very frustrating.

Like Markus mentioned above, it would be super helpful if anyone having this issue can post the Mac crash log for us to look over.
