As bwburke suggests the issue is likely that you have an inaccurate scouting report. Machado is absolutely a 5.0 star potential guy in the roster set.

As for Markakis, there was a typo and so his speed was 23 instead of 123. Thanks for pointing this out, it's fixed now!

Jameis Winston is listed as an outfielder for the 2015 draft class? I know he spent time there during his Freshman year, but I'm pretty sure most scouts view him as a player who has a better shot to make it to the majors on the mound. He also has no pitching ratings?

I believe PG has him ranked as the 13th best prospect in the 2015 class, as a pitcher.

Yeah, a lot of real draft guys haven't been terribly well edited yet. The whole thing is very much a wip that'll take some time to get perfect.

As you probably realize having this many real draft guys is far beyond anything we've ever done before. Matt Garrioch's done a great job with it but he and I will continually be working on these guys as we find time all the way through the year and into OOTP16.

Uh for some reason, B-R has the Padres with no SS-A team?

They're had the Eugene Emeralds for years, and when I google Eugene Emeralds, it says that they're the Pads SS-A affiliate.

In game, they're still the Pads SS-A affiliate, I'm starting to wonder if B-R made a mistake or maybe they're on to something we aren't?

I may have been around awhile and I have tried other versions (without playing as much as I should), but so far I am really liking the new version,

For me the new menus have seemed very intuitive and I am able to get around and find things. I personally realize that I have a lot to learn, but I really do appreciate the new user interface.

I will most likely be posting in the new users sections, but I have a feeling a new addiction is about to start.

Thanks to the OOTP team as I have been looking for the diversion from reality.

It is weird. But the Emeralds twitter account is active and they're set to host the 2014 NWL All-Star game as well, so it appears BR is wrong, for whatever reason.

If we're adding things to the list of player ratings to be adjusted, Trevor Rosenthal is listed as 93-95 MPH when I have scouting turned off but he throws his fastball in the 95-97 range in real life

Ok sweet that sounds good. This is my first time ever playing an OOTP game so if it was a mistake with my own system then i apologize. How do i know if the scouting is accurate or not? Is that a setting I can change, or is it just based on how talented the scout is?

Sadly, Jonathan Papelbon does not throw at anything like the velocity the game has him at. He's more of a 90-92 guy now.

Also, don't know if this is a roster issue, but just putting it in this thread -- the ratings for international coaches (Taiwan, Italy, Mexico in particular) are insane.

In your league set up options you can set scouting to 100% or turn it off. You can also go in commissioner mode, go to the player profile, click the Editor tab and look at his real ratings. This will tell you the numbers OOTP uses in the back ground to run the sim.
Scouting accuracy is based on both League settings and your scouts talent. Although with anything less than 100% accuracy or scouting off there will always be some degree of inaccuracy.

Others have said it before but again thank you for all of the work you put into this roster set. Having this available is HUGE and makes the game so much fun for me and a lot of other people. You do a great job with something that will never please everyone because we will always disagree about ratings on some level. But you have managed to accurately recreate the modern baseball environment and that is pretty awesome!
