That is a very good point. I remember back in high school me and a couple of my teammates would talk about Baseball Mogul and the idea of changing the prices of hot dogs, etc. I did some searching and found OOTP3 and the rest is history. Markus is a genius and needs to have his own show on the MLB Network.

We're hoping MLB Network will be willing to showcase some OOTP sims. It seems like a natural fit, but we always have to get past that "What is this?" reaction some people have.

Then again, ESPN always shows off their Super Bowl sims in Madden, so there must be some basic understanding of this kind of game in the sports world. Maybe we need to say "You know, like EA does with Madden for the Super Bowl." Not sure if that would help or hurt, though. (Do serious sports folks think those sims are lame? Seems to me they should sim it multiple times and create a composite, like I did with OOTP 15 and the World Series last fall.)

(And I see that EA has put out their annual Madden sim and picked the Patriots to win this Sunday: https://games.yahoo.com/blogs/plugge...225119955.html )

Brad, what about SiriusXM's MLB Network Radio? Maybe you should look into even getting a 5 minute interview on one of their radio shows. That could get word out to a whole crapload of people.

Get on Markus to be able to simulate something like that without having to reset everything.

Like, simulate an entire season 100 times reseting back to a certain date each time. And it'd keep the stats for each of the 100 seasons.

It sounds to me like you were born to play OOTP. Enjoy! After a while look into Stats Only (playing with no visible ratings). It might appeal to you. Or it might not.

I think of OOTP more as the love child of Football Manager and Strat-o-Matic.

Some serious sports fans just might not be willing to play these games and stuff like that. Like the older people, probably not going to get many of them to want to play (Despite there obviously being older people here) I don't think anybody would be very annoyed by seeing such a thing on MLB Network and some people might actually be happy to see it since they'd find a new game.

Just make sure your promo thing has some depth to it, as just saying "Baseball sim that's amazing" or something like that wouldn't make me want to buy the game.

I paid for my pre-order so let the addiction continue!! Not a huge fan of the 3D as I play for the stats and player development but still good to see the game growing and testing the boundaries of greatness!

I have decided that my first post on the board in a year and a half should be more props to Markus.

What has not been updated for a long time is the replay viewer. It is still the same since OOTP 9 and needs an update. Markus, are you updating this for 16?

I think that the best way to try to sell OOTP to the masses would be to point out that OOTP gives you opportunity to be the GM, the manager, or both. There are a lot of guys out there watching baseball who are convinced that they could do a better job than their teams GM and/or manager are doing. Point out that this game offers them an opportunity to see if they could or not.

They could even target the ads to Philadelphia and Atlanta.

I don't know how well that would translate to tv. With Madden you see the action in OOTP its all text. Markus would really have to sell that to MLB Network.

I'm just excited that the best baseball simulation game on the planet has somehow managed to get even better.

I say this without playing the game. But judging by the info out there and my trust in these guys, I'm ridiculously excited.

Hurry up March/April.

At least there's only 28 days this month.

The Road To Release series should help...but then again, it could make the wait even more excruciating.

Haven't been around for nigh on half a year now, but holy moly, does OOTP16 look good. I never played 15 much, really stuck to 14 for most of this year, but (as usual) this looks like the best OOTP yet. Really pleasantly surprised at rain-outs being included.

Can't wait, guys.
