NY METS 5

ARZ Diamondbacks 2
Chase Field

Chris Sale did a fine job going 6 and giving up 2 runs on 6 hits.
Andrew Miller got his 2nd save.
But it was really thanks to Mike Trout (22) and Freddie Freeman (9).
They both came up with 2 big HRs to give the Mets the win.
Jose Altuve had 3 hits tonight as the top of the batting order did its job, but the bottom of the order didn't.
Im very surprised that ARZ took out Zack Greinke after only 5 innings.
They were only down 3-2 at that point and Greinke was pitching effectively.

I guess in this game, the AI Cheated itself?

NY METS 9

ARZ Diamondbacks 2
Chase Field

Corey Kluber was good and Aaron Judge was better.
Judge blasted 2 HRs, his 17th and 18th to lead the Mets at the plate with 3 hits.
Bryce Harper was intentionally walked so that ARZ could pitch to Judge.
I wonder how that plan worked out.
Francisco Lindor hit his 7th HR of the season also.
Kluber went 6.1 and gave up 2 runs on 5 hits.
Im having Stanton and Judge alternate in RF every other game and it seems to be working.
We win the series over the D-Backs 3-1 and now we go a mile high to play the Rockies next.

This Week in Baseball---NY METS

Taking 3 out of 4 against a hot team like ARZ has to feel good.
As I said earlier, Stanton and Judge are alternating at RF every other game.
Im gonna do the same for Daniel Murphy and Nolan Arenado.
Since both are doing terrible at the plate, I need to get some quality at bats from the both of them.
One of them might be traded near the Trade Deadline.
Lets keep the season going.

This Week in Baseball---MLB

Lets have a look at the League:
ALE: BOS and TOR continue to stay close.
ALC: The Indians are still leading, but the Twins are following and the White Sox are now on a 7-game winning streak.
ALW: The LAA, OAK, TEX and HOU are making this a four horse race.
NLE: The Mets still lead!
NLC: The CHC are starting to pull away a little bit from STL.
NLW: The SD Padres are 20 games above .500, but the ARZ Diamondbacks and the LA Dodgers are still not letting this division go.

Series Preview: COL Rockies @ Coors Field (4-Games):

This is the place where pitching does not exist.
A four game series with COL is featured and there should be LOTS of long balls hit out of here.
Still have to be careful with DJ LeMahieu, Gerardo Parra and Chris Iannetta.
Jon Gray is their ace, but after that, they really do not have any shut down pitchers.
Syndergaard, Kershaw, Strasburg and Sale are the pitchers that draw the short straw for this series as their ERAs are about to go up a mile high!

NY METS 13

COL Rockies 1
Coors Field

Carlos Correa was up 5 times and got on base 5 times.
Two HRs (8,9) and three walks.
Bryce Harper added his 16th HR of the year and Buster Posey his 10th.
Noah Syndergaard was on cruise control, going 7 and giving up 1 run on 6 hits, finally earning his 10th win of the season.
He added 8 strikeouts to his yearly total.
Harper did have 4 hits in this game also and every one in the NYM lineup did get on base at least once.
We absolutely crushed COL.

NY METS 11
COL Rockies 4
Coors Field

Another complete win for the Mets.
Kershaw goes 8 and gives up 4 runs on 10 hits with 9 Ks.
The Mets lineup did it again as Daniel Murphy (2) and Freddie Freeman (10) hit one to the Rocky Mountains.
Freeman had 3 hits tonight and Bryce Harper went 4-4 making him the Golden Bat winner for the game.
This lineup really likes Coors Field.
They love the fans here too, because they have been sending them a lot of souvenirs so far in their visit to this beautiful ballpark.

NY METS 12

COL Rockies 4
Coors Field

Its become the Freddie Freeman show the last few games.
He belts 2 HRs, his 11th and 12th and had 8 total bases.
Buster Posey hit his 11th HR of the year also.
Jose Altuve and Francisco Lindor had 4 hits today, getting the Golden Bats tonight.
Oh yeah, Stephen Strasburg had a bit of an off day, giving up 4 runs on 8 hits with only 6 Ks.
He still got his 12th win, which leads the Mets.
We have a chance to sweep this 4-game set tomorrow with Sale on the mound.

NY METS 2
COL Rockies 1
Coors Field

We finally win a close game and this one was a nail biter.
Chris Sale gets his 7th win going 6 innings and giving up 1 run on 4 hits.
I used a lot of the bullpen to get the save for Kenley Jansen, his 10th.
Mike Trout hit his 23rd HR on the year and Aaron Judge had 2 hits today.
We sweep the Rockies!
Our long road trip is over.
Now its back to Queens for a BIG series with our NL arch-rivals, the LA Dodgers.

Series Preview: LA Dodgers @ Citi Field (3-Games)

Yeah, maybe we cant stand the NY Yankees, but if you a TRUE Mets fan, you HATE the LA Dodgers!
A big 3-game set is on hand for the weekend.
Corey Seager and Chris Taylor will give us trouble at the plate, while Kenta Maeda and Rich Hill will give us problems on the mound.
Kluber, Syndergaard and yes, Kershaw, who is really looking forward to his start, will be the pitchers for this very tense series.

NY METS 3

Just a tough loss here.
Corey Kluber goes 7 and gives up 4 runs on 3 HRs.
Giancarlo Stanton did hit his 17th HR in the losing cause.
We could only manage 3 hits against Dodger pitching in this one.

LA Dodgers 14
NY METS 3
Citi Field

The LAD give us the worst beating of the year since a 9-2 loss against ATL in April.
Its also our first series loss since losing to CIN in May.
We didn't pitch, hit or field in this game.
The Dodgers did everything right and we did everything wrong.
I hope Kershaw gets us a win tomorrow afternoon to avoid our first sweep.

I guess the AI wanted to teach me a lesson in this game!
AI CHEATS!

We do avoid being swept as we take the 3rd game over the Dodgers.
Clayton Kershaw did his job going 6 and giving up 1 run on 5 hits.
Mike Trout hit his 24th HR of the year and it was a big one to put the Mets ahead.
Gary Sanchez did have 2 hits today and an RBI.
LAD Alex Wood was injured after 1 IP, so ex-Met Hansel Robles took the loss.

This Week in Baseball---NY METS

Being 8-10 in 1-run games is still a pebble in my shoe.
We are 14-7 for June which is the most losses by us in a month this season.
Losing this series to the Dodgers is frustrating and we got clobbered on Saturday.
Looking forward to paying them back later this year in Chavez Ravine.
