The screen shot I posted is his SP rating even though he's not in the rotation at that time. When he got classified as a stopper when the season started I think he got half a star more. Note 1971 is his age 24 season so he's not yet the Ryan we remember.

In my game he spent 1966-68 and half of 1969 in the minors. In 1970 he got into 70 games none as a starter. He was offered in a deal where I was shopping Lenny Green in 1966. My return on that trade is a lot of years from the trade date!

A mostly stand pat team. After a year as a regular SS Gene Michael is back to first infielder off the bench.

Real life doesn't do that. I looked through the 4 division era. Best I found was 1977 102 101 100 98. Nothing at all like six teams at 101+ wins.

Freddie Patek hit under half the Mendoza Line for the post season. Wondering how much rust a guy can get from 15 days on the IL. Maybe activating guys without a minor league rehab is never a good idea.

I'm not playing out the games but I over ruled the AI manager to start Woodie Fryman in game 4.

I think I can keep winning or at least stay in contention for a few years. The next round of rookies that will break into the lineup includes Dave Parker and Stennett who has already played a bit. A few years after that the top prospects are reasonably good players like Tony Armas but not stars.
