The St. Louis Cardinals have learned that right-handed starting pitcher Sean Hermann will miss the remainder of the season after he suffered a shoulder injury in a 4-3 win over the New York Mets on Sept. 23.
Hermann, who the Cardinals acquired in a June 16 trade with the New York Yankees, is expected to miss four months.
In 18 starts for St. Louis, Hermann went 5-5 with a 3.14 ERA.
For the season, he was 12-9 with a 3.03 ERA in 33 starts.
