I'm not gonna complain about our favorite teams still being top, obviously, though I am gonna say the analysis sounds a bit... complacent... That's actually not a complaint, to be fair, especially to the degree that some of this writing has an "in-universe" spin, but given how the Boys and the Silver Shroud and the Swatters (and a lot of others) started this universe as terrible teams, it's just kinda weird seeing discussion about "the natural order" so to speak. I mean, that goes for some teams on the out right now too. I'm a natural optimist, but the pessimist in me is fully ready for the pendulum to swing back the other way and our favorites to be back in the mud after having only a season or two of success. I mean, clearly, that's not what I WANT to happen, but I guess the first season or two just live rent free in my mind.

The first two years were basically getting the league into alignment with a lot of "interference" to balance out teams. I certainly helped out a followed team or two with trades in their favor, and I made some behind-the-scenes tweaks to prevent teams from being way too successful. I probably should have done the same for some of the bottom teams, too, but based on my test leagues, those teams will find success soon. Not in 2300, but in time there will be some changes to the CBO where the good teams start being the bad teams and then flip again. That is exactly how I want the league balanced. I want to see every team in the playoffs within a 10-year period and few back-to-back championships.
In 2300, I currently feel like there is no sure team based on results so far. I have no idea who to pinpoint as a team bound for the playoffs. All of Fort Hagen, Nordhagen Beach, and Diamond City could make the playoffs, and all three could miss them. Vault 81 currently has the top record, but I am not sure if they are actually the best team. The way they're pitching so far, they may be. Another factor I am curious to see how it works out for the CBO is that 5th team in the playoffs. I am wondering if that will somehow throw off the balance, but I am looking forward to one additional playoff series per association. In all, so far, 2300 has been the best season yet with the number of teams that legitimately appear that they can win their divisions. Some teams like Oberland and Concord are currently playing above their talent, while a team like Starlight is playing well below its talent.

2300 - BYDL - Outstanding Prospects
BNN Weekly Report This Week in the CBO by Nat Wright-Kawolski 7 May 2300 BYDL - Outstanding Prospects Each week, we here at BNN will feature some of the Boston Youth Development League players showing their potential. North Region Drool of Pleasant Crowned Best Player: It can be difficult for a young player to step out of the shadows and assert himself in the North Region, but last week Jake Drool of the Pleasant Minigunners reminded everyone just why he's here as he threw up numbers that made him an easy selection for Player of the Week. Drool rocked opposing pitching for a .586 average (17-for-29), 1 home run and 6 RBIs to come away with the award. This season Drool is batting .518 with 71 hits, 6 home runs, 28 RBIs, 10 walks, .554 OBP and has scored 43 runs. He has played in 28 games. South Region Player of the Week: South Beach's Mutfruit: 16-year-old Mucky Mutfruit made a few South Beach headlines during this past week as the rookie left fielder proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and South Region officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort. He cracked 13 hits in 26 at-bats to put up a .500 average. Mutfruit collected 4 home runs, 16 RBIs and scored 11 runs. Mutfruit is hitting .375 for the season with 14 home runs, 41 RBIs and 42 runs scored. He has 51 hits in 136 at-bats and played in 31 games. Infielder Report Below are some of the top-rated infielders around the Boston Youth Development League. 1B Angus McGuyver, Spectacle Island Reapers, Freshman - 41/111 (.369), 10 2B, 8 HR, 34 R, 35 RBI, 23 BB, 13 SO Scouting Report: Sweet swing that will lead to success as a batter. Has the potential to be a power hitter but probably will not be among league leaders in homers. Needs to improve his eye before he can be star potential. Not particularly outstanding with the glove, which will probably keep him at 1B instead of the OF. Not a decisive person. Not particularly judgmental, either. 2B Diamond Ball, Jamaica-U Point Death Rockets, Sophomore - 34/61 (.557), 5 2B, 3B, 11 HR, 25 R, 33 RBI, 9 BB, 4 SO Scouting Report: Confident with shrewd perception and meticulous mechanics that should translate into a high batting average. Has power potential to be the best 2B home run hitter in the CBO one day. Fun to watch in batting practice but needs to earn more time on the field. Has the highest hitting ceiling for all 2Bers in the BYDL. Can play a number of different positions but most likely to settle in at 2B. Could develop into a SS if he put extra work in at that position. Relies on his natural talents and becomes complacent instead of working to be the best. Coaches tend to punish him with taking away playing time when he doesn't work hard in practice. 3B Sun Crockett, State House Orphans, Sophomore - 49/134 (.366), 16 2B, 15 HR, 37 R, 51 RBI, 25 BB, 44 SO Scouting Report: Strong for his age. Already a power hitter but can become even more deadly at the plate in time. He is still learning how to approach pitches, but expected to develop a plus eye in time to help him cut down on strikeouts. Expected to develop into a 1st-round talent for the 2302 draft. Not a workout warrior but does what needs to be done on the practice field. Not particularly close with teammates and would just play wherever there is a bat and ball. SS Grool Manycaps, South Charles Bank Moonies, Senior - 43/120 (.358), 16 2B, 10 HR, 37 R, 33 RBI, 27 BB, 32 SO Scouting Report: OSA scouts are wishy-washy on him for the 2300 draft, which will probably make him a mid-to-late rounder. Not a great swinger, so he needs to work on making contact even if it is just for a base hit. He'll get punished in the BMU/CBO if his swing does not improve. Good eye and can draw a walk when a pitcher is not throwing good pitches. Patience is his best virtue. Still, he needs to hit good pitches better. Pretty good defender with a strong arm. Could be a SS but may also end up at 3B at the next level. More loyal to the uniform than the players in the uniform. Lives and breathes Moonies ball, thinking about almost nothing else. Strong work ethic will help him develop more, even if his talent is not as good as others. Individual Statistics

BYDL History on a One-Week Dynasty Time Break
I need to research some of my own dynasty to make sure I do not contradict myself, which I just discovered while double-checking something. Therefore, Part 3 of my BYDL series is postponed while I fact-check some of the other youth leagues now swallowed up in the BYDL, as well as properly playing alumni on teams I already stated they played in. For example, I was writing in Jumper Hayes as a BYDL alumni, when I already wrote him in as a Quincy Youth League alumni. Fixed in my rewrite and now I want to give the short version of individual teams' histories of a few of their top players.
If you did like the feature, it will be summarized for Part 3 of a few teams' histories. That took a lot more work than I wanted to give at the moment!

![]() Anyway, I found in my dynasty that I had covered him before and he was listed as an alum of the Quincy Youth League (now a part of the BYDL in 2300), not a part of the Original 10 that I was covering. Oops. That's why I scrapped the project for now, thinking I need to populate the Alumni section, especially for the first couple of rounds of the 2296 Inaugural Draft and to an extent for the 2296 Rookie Draft, too.

2300 Feature - Part 3: History of the Boston Youth Development League - Broadcast Monday 7 May
"Boston's Baseball Emergence: A BosCom TV Special Series"
Written and Narrated by Philip Wallace Animated by Synthsational Art and Design Cue: Fallout Intro Music w/Vault Boy Baseball Image - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4UYb..._channel=Ranga Cue: BYDL Logo Welcome to tonight's feature, Part 3 on "Boston's Baseball Emergence: A BosCom TV Special Series." I am your host Philip Wallace. Tonight we are looking at the Original 10, Part 1, and how they started to shape baseball as we know it in the Commonwealth. We featured the “Original 2” last week in the North Charles Bank Goonies and the South Charles Bank Goonies, so we are going to look at how the other eight teams were able to come together to have a somewhat united yet still divided Boston Youth League, now known as the Boston Youth Development League by 2292. As a reminder, the first 10 clubs, or the “Original 10,” have changed somewhat over time. They are now known in no particular order as the previously mentioned Goonies and Moonies, the Diamond City Newsboys, the Beerthirty Sippers, the Circle Jerks, the Pleasant Minigunners, the Green Future Sea Urchins, the Boston Common Baby Bellies, the Boston Harbor Harborfellows, and the Thompson Heights Earthlings. This week we are going to concentrate on some of the teams that followed the Goonies and Moonies, beginning the firsts of the Boston Youth Series. Those four teams are the Baby Bellies, then known as only Boston Common; the Circle Jerks of Fairline Hill Estates; the Earthlings of Roxbury; and the Harborfellows, known only as Boston Harbor or the Boston Harbor Club near Bunker Hill. Cue: "Maybe" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wp2H..._channel=ptm51 Cue: SPECIAL – Luck https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bke9...hesdaSoftworks After the start of organized baseball in 2288, there were a number of baseball games popping up all over the Commonwealth. Most were all ages games with iffy rules and no time limits or organized innings. Players would jump in and out as they needed breaks or to go on their work shifts. One game in the free Concord area in 2289 supposedly ran for 13 straight days. Nate Howard made it a point to collect baseball equipment on his raids of the wild wastes. Those collected pieces of equipment were distributed to different of Howard’s settlements at first, but he did help in getting more equipment to settlements not under his watch. One of those teams that started using a free Boston Common was the team we now know as the Baby Bellies. First playing ball against some newly-formed traveling teams and also traveling sometimes across the Charles for their own Charles Bank rivalry against the Boston Harbor club, the Boston Common Club was in business as a talented group of players in 2289. Cue: Music – Oh Boy - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YwHr...annel=Miracle- Cue: Logo – Boston Common Baby Bellies The best player in the Boston Common franchise's history was the #1 overall pick of the 2297 Rookie draft, first baseman Oren Gep of the Diamond City Swatters. He played with Boston Common for four years, ending his time there in 2297 where he had a series of incidents that allowed him to play only 23 games on the season. Still, when he was on the field, he was a force to opposing pitchers, helping his team to the 2297 Boston Youth Series. Unfortunately, his team was only as good as he was, but North Charles Bank dominated with a sweep. Other notable alumni of the Baby Bellies team include 2299 NCA MVP Zeldoph Violet of Starlight; Diamond City's closer Josh Samm; Jamaica Plain's right fielder Goody Cloyse, the 2nd-overall pick of the 2296 Rookie Draft; and Vault 81's Harry Byrd. Cue: Music – Right Behind You Baby – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K6aQ...nRecordCompany Cue: Logo - Boston Harbor Goodfellows Where the Boston Common team found one year of success, the Boston Harbor team fared a bit better over time. With a number of opportunities to play games in house against traveling teams, and the team from the Nordhagen Beach area, the Club wasn’t always the best of the Boston Youth teams, but they most certainly played the most ball. Their absolute best of the best player is catcher Biter Trout of County Crossing. In his two seasons with the Boston Common team before joining the traveling team, the Haymarket Haymakers, Trout found himself as a talent to reckon with. He decided to skip on the 2296 Inaugural Draft, hearing that he would take a 100 caps per month pay cut to join as a rookie. That rumor proved not to be true, though, as high picks in the CBO draft actually made almost 1000 caps more than the Haymakers could pay. That pay change led to most of the traveling teams folding in 2996 after they lost the majority of their top players deemed eligible for the CBO rookie draft. Other Boston Harbor Club players are Salem's outfielder Danny Honeycutt; Egret's right fielder Bat Savelli; and center fielder Any Why of FHE; Cue: "Train, Train" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wOoa...hannel=DonJack Cue: Circle Jerks logo The Circle Jerks had their only truly successful team in 2290 with the help of players like pitcher Tim Fusion now of the Swatters; 2B Joel Carrotflower of County Crossing; and SP Bruce Iddings of The Slog. Other players of interest to come through the Jerks include right fielder David Seaweed of Starlight; outfielder Pockets Aintfull and shortstop Sean Koester of Concord; and Finch Farm's Sherwood Forest. Cue: "He's a Demon, He's a Devil, He's a Doll" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g6Ll...yHuttonWebsite Cue: Thompson Heights Earthlings logo He's an Earthling. The team now known as the Thompson Heights Earthlings, named for an upper-scale high rise condominium mostly intact in the Roxbury area, followed the Jerks in winning games south of Diamond City. In 2291, they won their only Boston Youth Series over the Goonies before falling to the Goonies in the finals the following year. They were led at that time by centerfielder Ed Tarberry of County Crossing; left fielder Waze Waiting of Diamond City; Warwick's pitcher Vince Moon; and recently retired pitcher Danny Beerholder. Even with only one championship year, there have been some talented players who came through the Thompson Heights team. They include three first-rounders in the CBO Inaugural Draft: 3B Ben Pettinato of Quincy; right fielder Dan Erb of Concord; and Easy Town's Aaron Geneva. This will conclude Part 3 of our History of the Boston Youth Development League here on BosCom TV. Tune in for Part 4 when we take a look at some more of the alumni of the Boston Youth League and explore more of the history of the “Original 10.” Until then, enjoy these highlights from the last week in the CBO! Cue: "The End of the World" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sonL...eOldrecordclub Cue:CBO highlights from BosCom TV

May 2300 - BNN Weekly Report - May 14
BNN Weekly Report This Week in the CBO by Nat Wright-Kawolski 14 May 2300 News from Around the League 8 May 2300 - Hill Thwarts Sunshine Tidings, 12-0 David Hill was dynamite at ArcJet Systems Stadium today, blowing away the Sunshine Tidings Chemists in a shutout victory. The Easy Town Assaultrons starter had everything working as he held the Chemists to 2 hits in the 12-0 win. "He was pure nasty out there today," said Sunshine Tidings skipper Webster Builder. "I don't think any team in the league would've had a chance against what he was bringing." Hill finished the game with 4 strikeouts and 3 walks. To date this season, Hill has a record of 3 wins and 2 losses and a 4.88 ERA. He has appeared in 7 games and struck out 19 in 48 innings. Cats Taguchi Tames Roxbury Atom's Scruffy Taguchi dazzled the Atomatoys Stadium at Roxbury crowd with a fine display of pitching. From the start, Taguchi dominated the Roxbury lineup en route to a sparkling 7-0 shutout. He finished with 4 strikeouts and no walks. In 7 starts this year Taguchi has recorded a 2-3 record and a 3.81 ERA. 11 May 2300 - Fort Hagen Blanks Abernathy, 4-0 It wasn't easy but the Fort Hagen Silver Shroud made it look that way. Starter Derek Green shut out the Abernathy Adamantium despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Fort Hagen Silver Shroud cruised to victory, 4-0. Green allowed only 4 hits and rang up 7 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win. "It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up." His record this year is 3-1 in 7 starts and Green has a 2.29 ERA. 12 May 2300 - Witch Hats Bertha Stops Party Boys It wasn't easy but Tony Bertha made it look that way. Bertha silenced the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys, 16-0, in a Salem Witch Hats triumph at Vim! Park of Salem today. Despite the appearance of dominance, Bertha said later that he felt like he was struggling all game. He gave up 3 walks and 7 hits. "It didn't feel quite right today, but I made the decision to bear down and work through it," he said. "I made a few mistakes but it goes to show what you can do with grit and not much else." In 8 starts this year Bertha has recorded a 3-2 record and a 2.55 ERA. Teddybear Deals Hancocks 4-0 Shutout Relying on pinpoint control and a good array of pitches, Chris Teddybear of the Jamaica Plain Red Rockets held the Goodneighbor Hancocks scoreless today. He scattered 6 hits over 9 innings and fanned 7 on his way to the 4-0 victory. So far this season Teddybear has a record of 4-3 with 52 strikeouts and 9 walks in 55.2 innings and a 2.91 ERA. 13 May 2300 - Erb Stretches Hit String to 20 Dan Erb ran his hitting streak to 20 straight games today at Nuka Park, when he collected 1 hit in 4 at-bats. The feat came, however, as the Concord Radstags dropped the game, 6-0, to the Starlight Lady Killers. "Hey, the streak is great -- I hope it never ends," Erb said later. "But I'm not happy to lose the game." Dan Erb flied out in the 1st, grounded out in the 4th, singled in the 7th and flied out in the 9th. For the year Erb has hit at a .385 clip with 34 RBIs, 8 home runs and 25 runs scored. For the week the 22-year-old center fielder had a lofty .450 average (9-for-20), collecting 3 home runs, 6 RBIs and 6 runs scored. Presently Samuels is batting .390 with 48 hits and 9 home runs. He has knocked in 29 runs and scored 34 times. Rathmann Picked SCA Player of the Week: Joe Rathmann has the tools to stick in this league for many years. The 21-year-old right fielder of the FHE Yao Guai had a hot bat in the South Charles Association over the past seven days and won the Player of the Week honors. Rathmann batted .588 with 10 hits in 17 at-bats, 2 home runs and 7 RBIs. This season Rathmann is hitting at a .429 pace with 9 home runs, 30 RBIs and has scored 30 times. Transactions Monday, May 14th, 2300 FHE Yao Guai: Placed SP Papa Bush on the 7-day injured list, retroactive to 05/13/2300. Sunday, May 13th, 2300 Goodneighbor Hancocks: Activated RP George Cincinnatus from the injured list. The Cherry Ghoulrillas traded 20-year-old reliever Two Shoes Jackson and 20-year-old first baseman Chris Shields to the FHE Yao Guai, getting 21-year-old minor league reliever Khalil Brite in return. Saturday, May 12th, 2300 University Point Deathclaws: CL Cricket McGuire returns from his rehab assignment. Abernathy Adamantium: Activated SP Gerald Jerry from the injured list. FHE Yao Guai: Placed LF Po Greenzone on the 7-day injured list, retroactive to 05/09/2300. Diamond City Swatters: Activated RP Nick Via from the injured list. Friday, May 11th, 2300 Oberland T-51s: RF Crops Gerdenheimer returns from his rehab assignment. Wednesday, May 9th, 2300 Starlight Lady Killers: Activated 2B Ray McMillen from the injured list. Nordhagen Beach Party Boys: Placed SP Julian Shed on the 7-day injured list, retroactive to 05/06/2300. Standings Team Power Rankings Weekly Team Power Rankings: Here are the current team power rankings for Commonwealth Baseball Organization: Teams (Total Points, Tendency): 1) Vault 81 Dwellers (121.0, o) 2) Easy Town Assaultrons (119.0, o) 3) Nordhagen Beach Party Boys (117.0, +) 4) Quincy Gunners (115.0, ++) 5) Fort Hagen Silver Shroud (112.0, -) 6) Concord Radstags (111.0, -) 7) Oberland T-51s (110.0, -) 8) Abernathy Adamantium (106.0, o) 9) Goodneighbor Hancocks (105.0, ++) 10) The Slog Ghouls (101.0, +) 11) University Point Deathclaws (99.0, +) 12) Jamaica Plain Red Rockets (91.0, -) 13) Diamond City Swatters (90.0, --) 14) Egret Ninjas (90.0, o) 15) FHE Yao Guai (88.0, +) 16) Salem Witch Hats (87.0, --) 17) Lexington Synths (85.0, +) 18) Atom Cats (71.0, -) 19) Starlight Lady Killers (67.0, +) 20) County Crossing Bloodbugs (65.0, -) 21) Finch Farm Four Leafs (55.0, +) 22) Sunshine Tidings Chemists (55.0, -) 23) Warwick Mirelurks (53.0, -) 24) Roxbury Rad Sox (47.0, o) Analysis With the top two—Vault 81 and Easy Town—remaining in their spots, the 2300 season is starting to shape up with fewer deviations from week to week. There were some teams that had good weeks and some that had bad, but not a single week included a 5-0 or 0-5 week. Nordhagen Beach (#3), the featured team below, had a 3-2 week to remain at pace with the Assaultrons and move up a spot in the Power Rankings. However, they did have two bad losses. In splitting at Lexington (#17), they lost the first game 11-2. They won the weekend series at Salem, but lost the midgame 16-0. The Boys’ pitching also got worked with two 12-inning games, both wins. Quincy (#4) nearly has the only 5-0 week, going 4-1 with only one one-run loss at University Point (#11). That loss broke up a seven-game winning streak. Otherwise, the Gunners also swept Diamond City (#13) in the midweek games. Fort Hagen (#5) dropped two spots after dropping their last two games of the week at Abernathy (#8) in a 3-2 week. They also won both games at County Crossing (#20). Like the Boys, the Silver Shroud remain consistent and will pose a long-term problem for their current running mates atop the Institute League, the Concord Radstags (#6), who dropped out of the Top 5 despite their own 3-2 week. Fresh off his SCA Player of the Week award, FHE’s Joe Rathmann is worth talking about when it comes to individual hitters. Rathmann leads the CBO in batting average (.429), OBP (.554), WAR (2.8), WPA (3.18) and WOBA (.537). He has probably surpassed Diamond City’s Oren Gep for the CBO MVP lead 30 games in. Relatedly, the NCA Player of the Week winner is currently our pick for the NCA Nuka-Hitter Award. With a 2.6 WAR, Samuels leads the NCA. He is tied with County Crossing’s Biter trout for the Batting Average lead at .390. He also leads the NCA in hits (48), runs (34), total bases (86), WPA (3.10), and WOBA (.483). The closest in WAR to Samuels is Concord’s Dan Erb (2.0). The pitching competition is still more muddled than the batting competition. In the NCA, only Salem’s Tony Bertha has above a 2.0 WAR (2.1). He’s been a great pitcher (3-2, 2.55) on a bad team. He’s 1st in rWAR (2.0) and quality starts (7) and only second (2.79) to Nordhagen Beach’s Chet Arthur (2.31) in FIP and secpnd (.204) in Opponents Average to Fort Hagen’s Derek Green (.192). In the SCA, Egret’s Phlip Wallace (1.9) and Jamaica Plain’s Chris Teddybear (1.9) are tied atop the WAR lead. Oberland’s Sheng Kawolski (6-0, 2.51) is atop the wins lead and has the 2nd-best ERA, though his WAR is low (1.0) compared to the other teams in the league. Among closers, the Assaultrons’ Aaron Geneva and Abernathy’s T-Bone Heagy (11 SV) lead the CBO in saves. However, the Radstags’ Aaron Still (10 SV, 0.59) has been the most dominant overall. Danny Rocketman (9 SV, 1.64) of Vault 81 has also looked like the best in the SCA. Team Focus: Nordhagen Beach Party Boys They have not been able from good to great in their time at the top of the Brotherhood League. But as back-to-back Brotherhood Legaue champions to go with an appearance in the Sole Survivor Series as a wildcard in 2297, the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys are currently sitting in a first-place tie 35 games into the 2300 season. The strange thing about their success of winning almost 6.5 games for every 10 they play is that they have not been playing as well this season as they had in the past two seasons. Last year they won 70 games, but that does not look like it will be the case in 2300, even if they are currently on pace to win 68 games. The offense has been disappointing in 2300 minus one player: Dustin Mart (.336/13/34). Minus Mart’s production, the Boys are 7th in the NCA in run production (132) with the 6th-best batting average (.259). Four players in all are batting over .300: Mart, C Mike Swift (.325), CF Ryan Combs (.316), and 3B Jon Hitman (.301). RF Jonathan Angelou (.278/6/13) is decently productive in the third spot, but LF Michael Fogcrawler (.234/4/20) has not hit like he usually does though he is knocking in runs. Leadoff batter, 2B Brian Masterson (.248/4/13), is also down on his productivity from the leadoff spot. On the bright side, the Boys are likely to produce better offensively over the course of the season, so their numbers are likely to be in the Top 3 in the end. Pitching gas been much better for the Boys. They are 3rd in runs allowed (121) thanks to good starting pitching (3.72, t-3rd in NCA). Due to lack of run support, the starters’ records are not following their low overall ERAs. Ace Tommy Beach (3-2, 4.10) has a slightly elevated ERA that brings the average up, but he is also used to the team scoring more runs when he pitches. Chet Arthur (2-3, 2.96) is getting even worse run support. Newcomer Matt Ranger (4-3, 4.98) needs to give up fewer runs, but he is not doing bad as the 4th pitcher. Derek Gist (1-0, 2.57) is forced into a starting role thanks to Julian Shed’s (3-2, 2.70) injury. The bullpen has the 6th-best ERA (3.23). New closer Matt Breakball (8 SV, 2.45) is pitching well. Former closers Sia Abber (0-0, 0.00) and Night Demon Archaki (0-0, 2.57) are also helping in their setup roles. Marc Woodsman (4-0, 1.23) has been great as their extra-innings pitcher. With the best FIP (3.24) and WAR (7.8), the pitching is doing great, despite being 10th in defensive efficiency (.671) and 12th in errors (32). This team is hard to gauge. Despite our opinion that they are playing lower than their talent, the Party Boys are still tied for the best record in the CBO and only trail the CBO’s best record (Vault 81) by one game. If the Boys get hot, then the rest of the CBO had better just sit back and watch as they role to their first-ever Sole Survivor Series title.

May 2300 - BNN BMU Weekly Report
BNN Weekly Report This Week in the CBO by Nat Wright-Kawolski 14 May 2300 News Around the League 9 May 2300 - Borden Humbles Galleria, 7-0 Milkmouth Borden of the Union Hope Lifegivers dominated the day at General Atomics Galleria Park today, pitching shutout ball against the Robotics Experts and holding them to 8 hits. He fanned 5 and walked 3 in spinning the 7-0 win. "I can't take all the credit for this one," Borden said. "I had some great defense behind me." In season stats Borden shows a 2-2 record in 5 games, 33 innings, 20 strikeouts and a 2.73 ERA. Players of the Week CA Star of the Week Announced: Jason Giron demonstrated his potential to be a star in the game last week and today he took home the Commonwealth Association Player of the Week Award. The C.I.T. Ruins shortstop wreaked havoc on opposing pitchers last week, pounding them for a .667 average (8-for-12) with 3 home runs and 3 RBIs on his way to claiming the honor. Currently Giron is batting .485 with 32 hits and 5 home runs. He has knocked in 14 runs and scored 18 times. Rifleman on the Attack, Player of the Week: 22-year-old Kern Rifleman made a few Charles View headlines during this past week as the rookie right fielder proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and Massachusetts Association officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort. He cracked 8 hits in 13 at-bats to put up a .615 average. Rifleman collected 1 home run, 7 RBIs and scored 4 runs. Thus far this year Rifleman is batting .384 with 7 home runs, 24 RBIs and 13 runs scored. Prospect Spotlight ROOKIE FOCUS SP Nuke Laloosh, Forest Grove Pugilists (Roxbury) - 4 GS, 3-0, 3.00, 30.0 IP, 27 HA, 10 ER, 8 BB, 10 K Analysis - Other than his low strikeout numbers, the 1st overall pick in the 2299 draft has looked the part of the future ace in Roxbury. There really is nothing to explain the lack of strikeouts overall since he is showing everything that the Rad Sox could hope for when drafting him off the BYDL champion Beerthirty Sippers. His control needs a bit more work, but he is better than average in the BMU. His changeup is not as effective as scouts think it will be, but once it comes around his strikeout numbers should follow. CF Sharkey Lurkfodder, Malden Grognaks (County Crossing) - 21/58 (.362), 4 2B, 3B, 2 HR, 10 R, 11 RBI, 6 BB, 10 SO, 4 SB, CS Analysis: The 2nd overall pick in the 2299 draft, Lurkfodder has burst out of the gates so far in 2300 with the Grognaks. Lurkfodder is among the rookie leaders in almost every category. SS Rick Rolled, Taffington Boathouse Spy Hunters (Easy Town) - 25/74 (.338), 2 2B, 10 R, 6 RBI, BB, 12 SO Analysis: The 4th overall pick, Rick has rolled along so far in the bottom third of the Hunters order despite having the second-best batting average on his team. He seems to be doing decent at the SS position with just three errors in 17 games played there. C Silvam Fourteen, Somerville Place Sentry Bots (Egret) - 22/71 (.310), 2 2B, 3 HR, 11 R, 15 RBI, 4 BB, 13 SO Analysis: The 10th overall pick, Fourteen is currently tied for the BMU lead among rookies in RBI. Like Rolled, Fourteen is batting 6th in the Bots' lineup, but he has been extremely productive in the BMU's best overall offense. SP Nate Dorrit, Breakheart Banks Behemoths (Salem) - 4 GS, 2-1, 2.22, 28.1 IP, 18 HA, 7 ER, 17 BB, 8 K Analysis: After surprisingly falling in the 2299 draft (drafted in the 3rd round, #64 overall) after striking out 115 in 68.0 innings in the BYDL, Dorrit is showing why he should have gone higher so far. Like Laloosh above, his strikeout numbers are not great, even though he has been extremely successful. The rest of the Behemoths pitching staff is not anywhere as good, so it has been all Dorrit finding success. Comparing him to fellow draftee Major Tom Brennan (2-3, 10.27), Dorrit looks to have been the better pick. 2300 - BYDL - Outstanding Prospects
BNN Weekly Report This Week in the CBO by Nat Wright-Kawolski 14 May 2300 BYDL - Outstanding Prospects Each week, we here at BNN will feature some of the Boston Youth Development League players showing their potential. North Region McGhee Collects Player of the Week Award: So far in his young career, Jig McGhee has kept a low profile, but after his performance at the plate last week, he attracted the notice of the rest of the North Region in a big way as he was named the Player of the Week today for his efforts. The 18-year-old Beantown Sprouts left fielder hit at a torrid .652 clip as he collected 15 hits in 23 at-bats, 6 home runs, 17 RBIs and 14 runs scored. This season McGhee has hit at a .435 clip with 65 RBIs, 16 home runs and 55 runs scored. He has played in 37 games. South Region Sapphire's Strong Week Earns SR Trophy: It can be difficult for a young player to step out of the shadows and assert himself in the South Region, but last week Emerald Sapphire of the State House Orphans reminded everyone just why he's here as he threw up numbers that made him an easy selection for Player of the Week. Sapphire rocked opposing pitching for a .538 average (14-for-26), 5 home runs and 17 RBIs to come away with the award. In 36 games this season Sapphire has compiled a .371 batting average with 56 hits and 9 home runs. He has also scored 36 times and knocked in 36 runs. Milestones 37-Game Hitting Streak for Mahan: Bill Mahan continued his streak at Tempest Ballpark today, even as the ballgame did not go his way. The Lynn Pier second baseman was 1-for-4 in today's contest and now has hit safely in his last 37 games. The Gamers were not as fortunate, losing 9-8 to the Beantown Sprouts. "Mahan was hitting everything we threw at him," said Beantown manager Friday Danielson. "He is a tough out. Fortunately, things went our way in the ballgame today and we came away with a win." Bill Mahan grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, grounded out in the 5th and was hit by a pitch in the 7th. Mahan is currently batting .402 with 2 home runs and 24 RBIs. He has at least one hit in all 37 games for the Gamers. Hit Streak Now at 34 for Drool: Jake Drool of the Pleasant Minigunners tagged 1 hit in today's 17-3 loss to the Fraternal Post 115 Leaders at Ballpark of Hamden HS to run his hitting streak to 34 straight games. "I realize it's unlikely to have a 34-game streak and not have a couple losses mixed in," he said later. "But it still takes the fun out of it." Jake Drool walked in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, singled in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th. This season Drool has hit 9 home runs and posted a .512 batting average. His .512 average only trails Diamond Ball of the Jamaica-U Point Death Rockets. Outfielder Report Below are some of the top-rated outfielders around the Boston Youth Development League regardless of class. LF Baktu DaWell, Wattz Ups, Senior - 69/149 (.463), 6 2B, 2 3B, 18 HR, 66 R, 58 RBI, 43 BB, 27 SO, CS Scouting Report: Has an excellent eye which can help him draw walks as shown in his production of more than one a game on average. His contact rating needs to improve so that he does not swing and miss as much. When he does make contact, possesses good power and gap potential. Not a particularly gifted outfielder but his arm makes him capable of throwing out runners, which projects him as a RF in the CBO. Lacks an edge, so runs on the fumes of his natural talents, which does not make him a sure 1st-rounder. However, OSA rates him as a Top 5 pick. LF Jig McGhee, Beantown Sprouts, Senior - 67/154 (.435), 7 2B, 2 3B, 16 HR, 55 R, 65 RBI, 32 BB, 32 SO, 3 SB, CS Scouting Report: Outstanding defender and hitter makes him a sure Top 5 pick in the 2300 draft. Lots of raw power allows him to punish BYDL pitchers who make poor pitches. His low contact ratings will make him struggle at first in the BMU once he is drafted. Great speed, which could make him a threat on the basepaths as he gains confidence. Could project at CF in CBO. Likes to be watched and will draw attention his way, positive or negative. Not the greatest work ethic so needs good coaching. LF Jake Drool, Pleasant Minigunners, Junior - 86/168 (.512), 22 2B, 3B, 9 HR, 54 R, 37 RBI, 13 BB, 15 SO Scouting Report: Great production in the BYDL but extremely limited against lefties which may make him tough to move up the prospect ladder. Makes good contact against righties and has been hitting over his projections against lefties this season (25/47 against lefties). CF Jesse Mazterson, South Charles Bank Moonies, Sophomore - 56/158 (.354), 16 2B, 18 HR, 54 R, 54 RBI, 27 BB, 37 SO Scouting Report: Great power for a CF. Long and lanky so just swings as hard as he can. That can help him succeed in the BYDL but will punish him at the next level if he does not develop a better approach at the plate. Like Drool above, Mazterson is scouted to struggle against righties (instead of lefties). That will limit his draft stock if he can only start against left-handed pitchers. Needs to learn that effort reaps rewards. Needs to learn to take coaches' advice. RF Supper Singleton, Castle Freedom, Freshman - 51/143 (.357), 10 2B, 3B, 12 HR, 35 R, 36 RBI, 30 BB, 31 SO Scouting Report: Has shown good plate discipline and projects to walk a lot at the next level as he learns to recognize a different array of pitches. Interesting to see how his power potential progresses. Will not hit for average but will hit his fair share of homers. Not exceptional at defense but makes the routine plays. Quicker to recognize faults in others' games rather than his own. Smart player and does not ask for much. Needs to put more into his game, though, before he can be considered a top prospect. 2300 - NWL - May 14
Nuka News Update All the news you need about Bradberton and Nuka World by Evan Guy News of the Week 8 May - Fireball Ups Hit Streak to 20 Consecutive Games: Win or lose, Steve Fireball just keeps on getting base hits -- game after game after game. He picked up 1 more today and has now stretched his hitting streak to 20 games. The Dark Bloodworms left fielder went 1-for-4 today, but it wasn't enough to win the game. His club was defeated 8-4 by the Quartz Star Force at Ol' Sugartop Ballpark at Dry Rock Gulch. "It's amazing to watch him hit right now, but I don't think anybody's really mentioning it," one of his teammates said. "We just don't want to jinx him." Steve Fireball flied out in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, singled in the 6th and flied out in the 8th. This season Fireball is batting .473 with 44 hits, 2 home runs, 15 RBIs, 4 walks, .495 OBP and has scored 23 runs. He has played in 20 games. 9 May - Hodges Holds Grape Scoreless: Justin Hodges made it look easy today. The Cherry Ghoulrillas right-hander shut down the Grape Painted Ghouls 5-0 on 6 hits at Grandchester Mystery Mansion Park today. For the game, Hodges recorded 10 strikeouts and no walks. "It was a good team effort today," Hodges said. "I pitched well, guys behind me had some nice plays and we put up enough runs to go home on time." So far this year Hodges has 3 wins and 2 losses and a 2.66 ERA. 12 May - Injury Brings Season to End for Tech: The news was not unexpected, but that didn't make it easier to accept for the Dark Bloodworms: starting pitcher David Tech is out for the year. Tech suffered an arthritic elbow on 05/09/2300. The team knew that the chances of seeing him return were slim to none. But today it was made official. For the year Tech has a 4-0 record with a 1.63 ERA in 6 starts. Cave Crickets, Diner Stonewall Quartz, 4-0: Victory Cave Crickets hurler John Diner was at his best as he whitewashed the Quartz Star Force 4-0 today. "He just kept the ball down, did a good job, made his pitches," said Quartz manager Nick Caudill. "We didn't do a good job making adjustments, so we helped him out a little bit." Diner fired a 2-hitter and totaled 5 strikeouts and no walks in the shutout performance. So far in 8 appearances this season, Diner has recorded 5 wins and sustained no losses. He has pitched 56.2 innings, yielded 35 hits, fanned 38 and has a 0.95 ERA. 14 May - Mike Drummerboy Captures NWL Award: Mike Drummerboy burst onto the Nuka World League stage in a big way last week. "Boston's Baseball Emergence: A BosCom TV Special Series"
Written and Narrated by Philip Wallace Animated by Synthsational Art and Design Cue: Fallout Intro Music w/Vault Boy Baseball Image - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4UYb..._channel=Ranga Cue: BYDL Logo Welcome to tonight's feature, Part 4 on "Boston's Baseball Emergence: A BosCom TV Special Series." I am your host Philip Wallace. Tonight we are looking at the Original 10, Part 2, and how they started to shape baseball as we know it in the Commonwealth. We featured six of the “Original 10” so far. Tonight, we will look at the other four teams of the Original 10, the Beerthirty Sippers, the Diamond City Newsboys, the Green Future Sea Urchins, and the Pleasant Minigunners. Cue: "Good Rockin' Tonight" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cgdz...=TheBluesfan12 Cue: Publick Occurrences articles about youth baseball By 2291, the Boston Youth League was up to 10 teams, though they still played each other sparingly with one final Boston Youth Series against each other. The Newsboys started out by traveling to play several games against the North Charles Bank Goonies and South Charles Bank Goonies. Occasionally, they would play at Boston Common and Boston Harbor, and play at makeshift fields against traveling teams, like the Andrew Station Southies, the Yahoos from the Cambridge area, and the Haymarket Haymakers. On the other hand, the Minigunners, Sea Urchins, and Sippers developed together thanks to some local caps investments. Pleasant, located in Covenant; Green Future, located just east of Malden near Greentop Nursery; and Beerthirty, located at Revere Beach just north of Easy Town played mostly against each other. The teams were invited to join the also newly-formed Charlestown League, which folded last year as part of the BYDL merger. That league was made up of five teams: the Coastal Cottage Fishpackers, the Kingsport Lighthouse Glow Ghouls, the Lynn Pier Parkers, the Nahant Whalers, and the Salem Devils. While the three decided to joint the Boston Youth League instead, they would play games against the Charlestown League. However, it was not until 2294 that they started actually playing games against other teams in the Boston Youth League. At that point, Pleasant was the dominant team of the three, allowing them to join the Round of 4 in the BYL. In 2294, they also proved to be the best team of those four, winning the Boston Youth Series in their first appearance there. Beerthirty also won most of their games, but they lost series to Pleasant and the Earthlings to finish in fourth. Cue: Music – "Easy Living" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RX7T...nel=nataladass Cue: Logo – Beerthirty Sippers The Beerthirty Sippers are the defending champions in the BYDL with a talented roster led by the sophomore SS Cope Kearns, a key contributor last season. They were led by 1st-overall pick in the 2299 Rookie Draft, Nuke Laloosh, who can be considered the best player in the team's history. The Sippers were named after a business at Revere Beach, the Beerthirty Saloon, with its special "Happy Hour" it calls the Chug Session. Since the youth team was made up of kids, they joked that they needed to sip instead of chug. Thus the Beerthirty Sippers were born. In addition to Laloosh, alumni of the Sippers include Millioncap Go, pitchers Tony Bertha and Ugio Church of Salem, Roxbury #1 overall pick Beachboy Nut, and Ben Pawlak of the Fort Hagen Silver Shroud. Cue: Music - "New York, New York" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zr-c...el=CameronPosh Cue: Logo - Diamond City Newsboys Publick Occurrences became intrigued with baseball and decided running up to watch the Goonies and Moonies were not good enough. That is when they started collecting some of the younger people of Diamond City to form their own team instead of playing for South Charles Bank. Some of the schoolchildren worked as newsboys spreading Publick Occurences copies around Diamond City and to protected areas in Downtown Boston. They started off their team with the quirk of wearing their newsboys caps to play ball. While the team has never won the BYDL, they have had an influx of talent in recent seasons, making the Round of Four three of the past five seasons, including being runners-up to Beerthirty last season. Currently with the best record in the BYDL, they look to be the favorites this season with senior pitcher Dave Cregger and junior pitchers Gerardo Vega and Ryan Goodpryce. They also added the highly-talented freshmen outfielders Magnum Peaeye and Pretty Boy Richards to the 2300 roster. The best player from the Newsboys is 2298 Rookie of the Year of Vault 81, center fielder Aesed Hayjen, who is also an MVP candidate in 2300. Other good players from the Newsboys includes the Lexington Synths' Crooked Tostado, Jamaica Plain's Hid Matsumoto, and Chris Van Benschoten of The Slog. Cue: Music – "Baby It's Just You" – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C0f8...hannel=DonJack Cue: Logo - Green Future Sea Urchins The Green Future Sea Urchins took their team name, which at first was just Green Future, based on a sign at Greentop Nursery: "The future is Green!" Thanks to CBO commissioner Nate Howard, that was indeed a fact now that every field in the CBO and BMU feature GECK-aided green fields. It wasn't until 2296, the team's sixth year, that they adopted the Sea Urchins team name. That name was derived from a sign found in a bunker in Malden. It featured a poster with a black figure with an eyeball in the middle. The poster had written on it, "Save the Sea Urchins!" They have not been a successful team in their history, finally having a winning season for the first time in 2298, partially thanks to the influx of new teams they played that season. The Sea Urchins progressed all the way to the Boston Youth Series where they fell to the North Charles Bank Goonies. This season, they are currently in first place, meaning they could make the playoffs for the first time ever in this expanded season. They have not had a lot of top talent come through their team over the years, with center fielder Witcher Craft of Diamond City as their top current player. However, two players from the 2298 team, pitcher Scruffy Taguchi and third baseman Ajani Peacock, went #2 and #3 overall in the 2298 Rookie Draft. Oberland's catcher Tenthree Leader is also a Green Future alumnus. Cue: "Happy Times" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GFfa...el=JazzGalaxie Cue: Logo - Pleasant Minigunners The Pleasant Minigunners were the first team of the last four of the Original 10 to find success. The team is based in Covenant, known for the settlement's "happy, pleasant settlement" (don't tell that to synths from before 2288!) slogan. The Gunners made their first Round of Four in 2294, leading to back-to-back Youth Series championships in 2294 and 2295. Those teams were loaded with current CBO talent, including former MVP Bryan Assman of Goodneighbor, as well as 2300 MVP candidate Tomas Jones of University Point. Fort Hagen's Brent Hooker, the #2 overall pick in the Inaugural Draft, was the ace for the Minigunners. The #1 overall pick of the 2298 Rookie Draft, Eugene Gym, was on the team in 2295 and 2296 before moving to South Beach for the 2297 talent redistribution. This will conclude Part 4 of our History of the Boston Youth Development League here on BosCom TV. Tune in for Part 5 when we explore the first half of the "Next 10," ten teams added to the BYL in 2297. We will also offer an explanation of the first talent redistribution, aided by the CBO's scouting association. We hope you have enjoyed this iteration of our special program. Please tune in again next week. Cue: "Keep A-Knockin'" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Uaj...el=CoverHeaven Cue:BMU highlights from BosCom TV

May 2300 - BNN Weekly Report - May 21
BNN Weekly Report This Week in the CBO by Nat Wright-Kawolski 21 May 2300 News from Around the League 15 May - Malone Sparkles in 5-0 Shutout: Relying on pinpoint control and a good array of pitches, Quentin Malone of the University Point Deathclaws held the Roxbury Rad Sox scoreless today. He scattered 6 hits over 9 innings and fanned 10 on his way to the 5-0 victory. So far this season Malone has a 6-3 record with a 2.54 ERA. 16 May - Jamaica Plain's Badluck Has Bad Luck He must have a '1' for his SPECIAL because Jamaica Plain's minor league pitcher Kevin Badluck had the bad luck of unluckily running into an angry yao guai. Due to injuries the player playing for Haymarket suffered, Badluck will be out for the remainder of the 2300 season. A former reliever with Nordhagen Beach, Badluck has bounced between the Red Rockets and Commados the last two seasons. In four appearances in 2300, the 37-year-old was 1-0 with a 2.45 ERA. 18 May - Early Season End for Dozier: The news was not unexpected, but that didn't make it easier to accept for the The Slog Ghouls: starting pitcher Dan Dozier is out for the year. Dozier suffered shoulder inflammation on 05/16/2300. The team knew that the chances of seeing him return were slim to none. But today it was made official. This year Dozier has 4 wins and 1 loss and a 4.14 ERA. BNN Reports Ousting of Warwick Manager Langford: The Warwick Mirelurks have ended their relationship with skipper Old Man Langford, firing him this afternoon. The Mirelurks indicated they will soon be interviewing candidates for the position. "This time we hope to get someone with a proven track record. We want an experienced manager and will take our time in getting one," general manager Jason Liberti told reporters. "No hard feelings," Langford said. "This is just part of the game. Warwick gave me an opportunity and I appreciate it. They treated me well and fairly. I just wish we could have done better." Silver Shroud End Erb's Streak: The Fort Hagen Silver Shroud pitching staff did its job today, holding hot-hitting Dan Erb hitless in 5 at-bats during the club's 9-3 victory over the Concord Radstags at Hubris Comics Park. The disappointing performance ended a 22-game hitting streak for the left fielder. "I'm a little down right now," Erb said after the game. "I couldn't get anything going when the team needed me, and I hated to see the streak end, too." Erb is hitting at a .374 mark this season. His stats show 8 home runs, 35 RBIs and 27 runs scored. He has played 33 games for the Radstags. 19 May - Abernathy's Settler Receives Radio Freedom Call Abernathy Adamantium 1B Steve Settler has to leave the team for nearly a week after he received a call from Radio Freedom's Minutemen leader Preston Garvey. "He told me another settlement needs my help," Settler said of Garvey. "I have to go, but I plan to be back by next weekend." Settler will be out for today and tomorrow's games against Lexington, and he's likely to miss the midweek series at The Slog. He is expected to return to the team in time for the trip to Sunshine Tidings, but the Adamantium may elect to fill his roster spot for that weekend instead due to uncertainty of his availability. They could elect to put him on the 7-day injury list that would delay his return to May 29 at Easy Town. Settler leads Abernathy with a .343 average. He is also second on the team with 15 RBI. 20 May - Hope Hurls 9-0 Masterpiece: Matt Hope shut out the Concord Radstags 9-0 on a 5-hit masterpiece for the Fort Hagen Silver Shroud at Hubris Comics Park today. "He was kind of teasing them with his off-speed stuff, and his fastball was moving everywhere," Fort Hagen skipper Mark Andersen said afterward. Hope registered 5 strikeouts and issued 1 walk in pitching a gem. "We just didn't swing the bats very well. Or else he just pitched good, whichever way you want to look at it," said Concord manager Mark Gourdroot after the defeat. This season Hope has fanned 39 in 72.2 innings and collected a 7-1 record with a 2.35 ERA. Party Boys, Beach Blank Easy Town, 6-0: Tommy Beach of the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys was in command from start to finish in his 6-0 shutout win over the Easy Town Assaultrons. He struck out 9, walked 0 and allowed 6 hits. "I felt strong the entire game," Beach said. "I felt like I had my good stuff. It was just one of those games when everything was working." This season Beach has a 5-2 record with a 3.36 ERA in 10 starts. The hard-working and hard-playing Michael Fogcrawler was rewarded with the North Charles Association Player of the Week honors. The scrappy Nordhagen Beach Party Boys left fielder hit .526 while collecting 10 hits in 19 at-bats, 3 home runs and 7 RBIs. This year Fogcrawler is hitting .278 with 7 home runs and 27 RBIs in 35 games played. He also boasts an OBP of .386 with 21 walks and 24 runs scored. South Charles Association Names Top Player: So far in his young career, Jake Doucette has kept a low profile, but after his performance at the plate last week, he attracted the notice of the rest of the South Charles Association in a big way as he was named the Player of the Week today for his efforts. The 22-year-old Atom Cats shortstop hit at a torrid .524 clip as he collected 11 hits in 21 at-bats, 1 home run, 6 RBIs and 9 runs scored. To date this year Doucette is batting .304 with 3 home runs. Standings Team Power Rankings Weekly Team Power Rankings: Here are the current team power rankings for Commonwealth Baseball Organization: Teams (Total Points, Tendency): 1) Fort Hagen Silver Shroud (129.3, ++) 2) Nordhagen Beach Party Boys (123.3, +) 3) University Point Deathclaws (114.0, ++) 4) Vault 81 Dwellers (111.1, --) 5) Goodneighbor Hancocks (107.9, ++) 6) Diamond City Swatters (104.9, ++) 7) Abernathy Adamantium (103.9, +) 8) Easy Town Assaultrons (99.9, --) 9) The Slog Ghouls (99.7, +) 10) Quincy Gunners (96.7, --) 11) FHE Yao Guai (95.6, ++) 12) Egret Ninjas (90.6, +) 13) Jamaica Plain Red Rockets (90.6, -) 14) Salem Witch Hats (90.6, +) 15) Atom Cats (86.3, ++) 16) Lexington Synths (83.3, +) 17) Starlight Lady Killers (83.3, +) 18) Concord Radstags (82.6, --) 19) Oberland T-51s (81.6, --) 20) County Crossing Bloodbugs (79.1, o) 21) Finch Farm Four Leafs (52.6, o) 22) Sunshine Tidings Chemists (51.6, o) 23) Roxbury Rad Sox (51.4, +) 24) Warwick Mirelurks (45.4, -) Analysis We finally got to see a bit of a shakeup in the Power Rankings this week with some really hot and really cold teams. Not only that, but the team starting the coldest, #24 Warwick, even fired their manager Old Man Langford this week thanks to the team winning only nine games on the season. They did win Friday over University Point (#3) to ear their 10th win and first under new manager Pete Brunick who comes over after the youth league mergers. As far as the top is concerned, there is a new #1 in the Fort Hagen Silver Shroud, which we will feature this week. The Shroud started the season cold, but a 13-2 May so far, including a 5-0 week with sweeps of Easy Town (#8) and Concord (#18 after an 0-5 week), see them sitting three games up on the Abernathy Adamantium (#7) in the Institute League, even though the Adamantium are the only team to beat Fort Hagen this month (twice last weekend). For the Shroud, winning streaks of eight games and now five games have made them #1. Nordhagen Beach (#2) also saw a rise in the Rankings this week, winning 4 of 5 games. They pummeled the reeling Stags in two and then took 2 of 3 over the Assaultrons on the weekend, pushing their Brotherhood League lead from two games to three. The Boys used a barrage of runs this week to push their offense up in batting rankings, and Tommy Beach (5-2, 3.36) pitched a complete-game six-hit shutout yesterday to win the big early-season league series. The Deathclaws had an easy schedule this week, facing the two worst teams in Roxbury (#23) and the Mirelurks. As mentioned above, they lost the Friday game, but otherwise went 4-1 tp help themselves to a one-game lead over Goodneighbor (#5) in the Minutemen League. The Hancocks had a 3-2 week, splitting with Vault 81 (#4) and then taking two against Quincy (#10). The Dwellers dropped to #4 after they lost the weekend series 2-1 to Diamond City (#6). The only other major movers in the Power Rankings are an up-down affair. Atom (#15) will not compete for a playoff spot in 2300, but the Cats had an impressive 4-1 week, annihilating FHE (#11) 23-7 in Game 1 of a two-game sweep and then taking the weekend series at Jamaica Plain (#13). Their offensive production this week led to former 3rd-overall draft pick Doucette taking Player of the Week honors in the SCA. For the T-51s (#19), they are on a current seven-game losing streak, including being swept by both teams the Cats beat up on this week. Looking at individual players, FHE’s Joe Rathmann (.444) looks as though he will annihilate Jarrett Metalbox’s 2298 bating average performance. Rathmann not only leads the CBO in average, but he is also 1st in WAR (3.3), OBP (.567), WPA (3.45), and weighted OBA (.536), tied for 1st with County Crossing’s Biter Trout for walks (37), 4th in Slugging % (.726), 2nd in OPS (1.293), tied for 3rd in hits (55), 5th in runs (34), 7th in total bases (90), 2nd in stolen bases (15), 2nd in stealing attempts (20), and 2nd in OPS+ (227). Along with Diamond City’s Oren Gep (.371/18.37), the NCA and SCA Nuka-Hitter Awards look to be settled at this point in the season. Those two are in a big lead for the CBO MVP Award. For pitching, the usual array of stars continue to pitch mostly good games—Fort Hagen’s Matt Hope (7-1, 2.35), University Point’s Quentin Malone (7-3, 3.00), Oberland’s Sheng Kawolski (6-1, 2.66), Vault 81’s Edwin Mass (6-2, 2.51), Diamond City’s Tyler Powers (6-0, 2.20), Egret’s Phlip Wallace (6-2, 2.79), and Nordhagen Beach’s Tommy Beach (5-2, 3.36). If we had to pick our early favorites for the Vim! Pitcher Awards and starting pitchers in the All-Star Game, we would probably go with Hope in the NCA and Powers in the SCA. There are many other pitchers in the running, though, including Derek Green (3-1, 2.51) and Tony Bertha (4-2, 2.78) from the NCA and X10-44 Mannson (5-2, 2.67), Chris Teddybear (5-3, 2.71), and Quincy Eloquent (5-3, 2.99). Team Focus: Fort Hagen Silver Shroud Following a 10-10 April, including a 2-6 start, the Fort Hagen Silver Shroud are now the CBO’s hottest team. The Shroud have gone 13-2 in May, including a current five-game winning streak, to take over full control of the Institute League and tie the Brotherhood League’s Nordhagen Beach for the best record in baseball. It has been a swing for the NCA to take control at the top, but the Shroud and Party Boys have helped make that happen with their talented rosters. Hitting has been the main reason Fort Hagen is so good. With the top offense in the NCA in overall production, the Shroud are winning a lot of their games by outscoring their opponents. They are currently 1st in runs scored (221), batting average (.294), OPS (.824), WAR (8.6), and wOBA (.352). They are in the top half of the NCA in every offensive category but stolen bases (8th with 18) despite having one of the best at stolen bases in the CBO, Well Done Dungan (14). The offensive lineup has been really good at hitting with 5 of the 8 regulars hitting over .300. Jim Tiller (.358/5/33), Mark Miller (.345/0/9), Ben Pawlak (.326/8/23), and Dungan (.323/0/21) allow the Shroud to get a hit about once every three at bats. The player struggling the most to hit has been RF David Driftwood (.192/7/24) who helps with power for the 4th-best home run hitting team (40 total). Other than his big hits, though, he has hurt the team. LF Andrew Nuka (.286/9/33) is also hitting a career low, but his batting average only looks “bad” because of how well his teammates hit. Otherwise, he has helped the offense churn out runs. The pitching has not been as good as the offense, but that is more due to the bullpen rather than the starters. The Shroud have allowed the 5th-most runs (146), but their starters sport the 2nd-best ERA (3.36), only trailing league rival Abernathy for the CBO lead. Matt Hope is considered the 4th-best starter, allowing him to win matchup problems in going 7-1 with a 2.35 ERA. It has been a nice change moving from the ace role in Atom to the #4 in Fort Hagen, and we currently have him in the lead for the NCA Vim! Pitcher Award. Of course, there are also Derek Green (3-1, 2.51) and Mike Cartrette (4-3, 4.29) to contend with. Cartrette is struggling some this year, but we would not be surprised to see him finish with a 3.50 ERA by season’s end. Brent Hooker (3-3, 4.66) is also pitching decently well to win games when the offense produces. As good as the starters have been, though, the bullpen in dead last in ERA (5.04). Bob Kearns (0-1, 10.03) and All Day Acosta (0-1, 14.73) can take part of that blame. However, closer Curtis Thriceshot (3 SV, 4.63) has not been is a position to match his production of the last two seasons when he saved 33 and 32 games, respectively. Radscorpion Johnson (2-1, 1.26) and Joe Verti (2-1, 2.51) have been the two best bullpen pitchers in 2300. We don’t know if the Skroud have finally and fully overcome their Sole Survivor Series loss hangover, but we do know they have looked the part so far in 2300 that they are primed not only to repeat as Institute League and North Charles Association champions, but they want the crown this season, too. With the way they have been hitting, and if Cartrette and Thriceshot find their groove, it will be hard for any team in the CBO to hold Fort Hagen down.

Was away for a few days, so read the two updates back to back. At first I thought it might be interesting with Vault 81 and Easy Town on top, and then the good ol' teams come back on top

For the Boys, I mentioned they have been quietly good. In the first seven weeks of the season, they have yet to have a losing week. Yes, most weeks have been 3-2, but that has been good enough to earn them the best record in the CBO. Win 4 out of 7 all season, and they raise the trophy. It's a long season yet to go, but their numbers are starting to be scary good all-around.
