so wait...do the HISTORICAL Ballparks created by Silvam that I lovingly used in OOTP 23 work when importing them to use in OOTP24? I thought BP model grfx, etc with OOTp24 changed so that you can't use earlier mods of ballparks. I guess I'm wrong?
I was patiently waiting since last week for silvam (adion, too?) to update their fantastic historical ballpark work and upload it to the OOTP24 Steam workshop before beginning any OOTP24 historical replays. Can I simply use the same ballparks from silvam I used in OOTP 23????? Last edited by robedits; 04-01-2023 at 02:34 PM. |

OK, good to know...thank you. I still anxiously wait, though, for Silvam's annual upload of his tweaks and creations to the Steam (OOTP24) workshop!
Edited: After copying and saving a copy of OOTP24's game-included data/ballparks folder to my desktop (found in SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Out of the Park Baseball24/data/ballparks), I went into my OOTP23's SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Out of the Park Baseball23/data/ballparks folder...and copied/pasted all of the Historical ballparks I had downloaded into this folder for OOTP23....into the OOTP24's SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Out of the Park Baseball24/data/ballparks folder. ****Make SURE to NOT overwrite ANY of the current ballparks that are included in OOTP24 with the same-named ballparks from OOTP23: the look for most (if not all) of them has changed and you'll be replacing improved modern BPs with last year's versions. Just copy and past the ballparks that were unique to the historical ballparks uploaded by SIlvam, Adion, etc for OOTP23****** I confirm that you CAN use the historical ballparks Silvam (and co.) created for (Steam version of) OOTP23 with (Steam version of) OOTP24, and the new OOTP24 player/crowd/stadium animations will work, as well! ***At least until silvam (I hope sometime soon) uploads any NEW historical BP files he's working on into the OOTP 24 Steam workshop! If you copied everything over AND told your PC to "replace files" (etc), I"m pretty sure you'd have to re-install the game again. THis time, make a copy of your original OOTP24 (modern) models (parks) folder on your desktop first. If you already made a copy first, just drag (or copy and paste) the backup copy you made of the game's OOTP24 models into your data/models folder, and "replace" the same-name files with the OOTP24 models.

The historical stadiums seem to work in the Mac App Store version. You need to manually add them. It does not seem to save them once you quit the program. If you use pod files, that works fine and saves the stadiums after quitting. Not so with obj files.
If any of what I said is incorrect, please let me know, so I can get them to work without constantly loading them. |

Go to where the game was downloaded to on your hard drive> if you are using windows, it will be in the programs Files/out of the park developments/OOTP baseball 24. Then open the default data folder, and the 4th thing on the list should be ballpark_files.zip. Copy that to your desktop and unzip the files to your ballpark/models for. If you are using a MAC, the process will be the same, but I don't know where they would be on the hard drive. |

Hi
I am using a MAC M1 2021 and the zip file is unable to be unzipped in or out of the app file. Any direction out there? What am I missing? I have the standalone game if that helps. |

In Steam there's an option for verifying the integrity of the game files, or something like that - it'll replace any edited or non-original files with the correct ones

I am on a M1 MacBook Air and had no problem opening the zip. I use THE UNARCHIVER to unzip files.

Reposting, still having this problem. Any thoughts? Only solution so far is to turn off dynamic zoom.

Thanks. It did work although now I do not know what to do with the files I unzipped because the "ballparks file" is still zipped. Where do I put the unzipped files with the historical stadium files? Thanks again for your help.

From one masshole to another; thank you! I'm relearning baseball after being gone for 20 years and can't wait to dive back in with your parks!

OK. The unarchiver unzipped the files now how can I get the historical stadiums in the game if all I find on the mac (in the game) are zipped files (ballpark, etc.). Any help would be appreciated. Am I missing something?

silvam14 made a tutorial. I have a PC so I don't know Macs. You would have to put the files in the ballparks/models folder. Maybe the tutorial will help.

Thanks, as always, Silvam!! They're all there and great, as usual.
To people using these in OOTP24 for your historical replays: the location of these (and other workshop) files themselves are different from past editions of OOTP if you have the Steam version of OOTP24. Downloading/installing still works the same, but check out the file location when you're in the Steam OOTP24 workshop: -Drive where your Steam library is / Stem Apps / Workshop / Content / (long #'d folder) / another, longer numbered folder/ Custom data / Ballparks / Models.
