Maybe krmarks can put you on the trading block and see what happens…

Just out of curiosity, who ended up winning NL ROTY if Seyde didn't (assuming he didn't)?

Love to see King finally getting up there in terms of BA. Maybe the Phillies will finally make the playoffs

Indeed. It looks like Atlanta's short time as a playoff team is up. Staples is not going to have a year as fire as last year for a while.

I was also just starting to think that maybe going to College wouldn't pay off for King, it's good to see him finally lead the way. He is 4 years older for the most part.

Another thing I noticed is that King is signed through 2027, while everyone else is not. I'm not too well versed in baseball arbitration and things like that, but a rookie contract of 11 years seems long to me. Anyone know why that is?

My guy Long is signed through 2027 as well. It isn't a rookie contract, it is a 7 year contract. Both went into arbitration after last year and the teams decided to give them long term contracts to buy out their arbitration years and one or two years of free agency. Not sure how many years a player and teams can go to arbitration, off hand I think it's five.

Normal "rookie" contracts are 6 years with 3 years of arb. Your players just signed extensions.

I don't want to step on toes and post anything that isn't planned here, but reading these adopt a prospect things in the past (I've been largely a looker, not a poster in the past), when this happened usually the poster was given an option by whoever was running that particular thread after year 6 to either stay with the deal til the end, or opt out and test free agency. Again though, not sure if that's what kmarks has planned so I don't want to assume anything. I'm sure he'll let us all know what's up.

Kinda glad my guy so far just has his 1 year arb contract. Nothing against Milwaukee, but unless you're winning big (and we're not), who REALLY wants to live there long term lol? If I'm gonna be stuck in the Rust Belt, at least get me back home to Ohio or Detroit.

He should be doing it, but maybe he slipped up. I don't have a problem because the extensions aren't permanent yet.

The LF on the Brewers won it, Beer or something is his name...he had 40+ HR and had Seyde beat in pretty much every category unfortunately.

I'll look at contracts when I get home, usually it lets me know when extensions are signed, but it might not have. I will reset them to the standard 6 years with arbitration. I honestly haven't looked since most guys were only 4 years in.
