Slept through the game til teh top of the 9th. Glad i didnt go to Wrigleyville tonight. Maybe Sunday. i need to Cubs to win on Sunday So i can leave work early on Wednesday and party in the street.

It's the World Series. Go up 3-1 with two of three left at home. Put your opponent in position where they have to sweep rest to win?

Every single time he should do that. Nail it down because world championships don't grow on trees.

He only threw 27 pitches last night and 17 in the previous game, so I still think he is available for at least 1 inning tonight....but I have this feeling that the Cubs will win this game tonight and the series will come back to Cleveland where the Indians finish it on Tuesday. I just don't think Bauer is going to get it done tonight.

The quicker Cleveland finishes this, the better I feel about the Blue Jays meek exit.

I think there are no pitch counts anymore. I think they could get 5 innings out of Miller/Shaw/Allen if they had to tonight. I also think Bauer will have a super short leash tonight, particularly with the off day tomorrow. Like maybe once through the order. I could see them going to Salazar or Otero early. Francona is not going to just give away Game 5 as a lost cause before it starts.

Great to see Kipnis and Santana get a few hits too, particularly for Kipnis to get a huge bomb in his hometown.

Because Miller has shown the ability to throw 25+ pitches 4 out of 5 days with no effect on his stuff. There is nothing to save him for. It's only wasting if it makes him unavailable. I guarantee he's 100% available.

This is why Francona wins and Dusty Baker is giving pressers after the first round wondering how Kershaw will look in the next round.

(To be fair, some of my loathing for the Caray family comes from his son, Sourpuss Skip, who could suck the pleasure out of any game, but still. Braves fans, I don't know how you stood it, all those years.)

Twas the night before game 7 and all thru the house, not a Cubs fan was sleeping, not even his or her spouse. All the W flags were hung from windows with care, with the hope that a title soon would be here. The Cubbies were nestled all snug in their beds while the Indians freaked out with the Cubs in their heads. There is Maddon's crazy suit and Lackey's cowboy hat. And Rizzo again using someone else's bat. When out by the ivy arose ghosts from the past. The black cat and goat, and Bartman alas. There's Ronnie and Harry and Ernie, "Let's play two!" And the city all decked out in bright Cubbie Blue. While Cubs nation prepares for a night for the ages, what's that I hear from the old batting cages? The sound of song and a Wrigley Field echo. Come tomorrow we all sing "Go Cubs, Go!"
