Perhaps a picture of hops hoisting a cold one might spark an idea. |

The Atom Smashers Bronze Tourney team pulled a couple of packs yesterday (to my utter surprise!) and I wanted to share a couple of pulls... don't worry about me having a windfall, I didn't get any Diamond or Perfects!
The first card is the PT21 player with the best name - Mysterious Walker. He's a pitcher and his control isn't great so maybe we can deduce why that is his name.... The second picture of a pack opening made me feel like I won a Historical pack, given that it had 4 historical cards in it. Just thought that was interesting. Sadly, (happily?) the Atom Smashers are pretty set in the outfield, so none of those new guys can crack the team. |

Congrats to the first round of winners! I had a tradition I previously mentioned of holding all my packs from tournaments for Saturday mornings. I won my first tournament and have six packs waiting for me. I am half tempted to make a one time exception and open them this morning since league play starts tomorrow. As it stands now here is how Coney Island lines up-where two names are listed it is a right/left platoon:
C: B. Boone 1B: E. Kranepool/B. Jacoby 2B: B. Gates 3B: B. Robinson SS: A. Dark LF: O. Gamble/J. Leonard CF: D. DiMaggio RF: F. Jose DH: M. Rivers Bench: J. Essian, L. Sojo, B. Voss |

The Hops guy looks great.
I'd been planning on using this guy with the red area turned transparent and the whole image resized to 150x150. E[/URL]. It's copied from the brewery's webpage so the resolution is poor but I like his goofy look. I'll keep working on it. Last edited by Madmarcus; 04-04-2021 at 09:06 AM. |

Nice to see Ed Kranepool, but as far as former old time Mets go, I see your Ed Kranepool and raise you a Grover Powell, a young hard-throwing lefty, who didn't necessarily know exactly where the ball was headed. By the way, the OOTP card is nearly a replica of the Topps wood grained Powell card I lifted the picture from. |

I like the idea of saving packs for one time in the week but it's been a break week for me (I'm a teacher and it is spring break) so I've been too tempted by seeing what whether I could keep winning in .142 or chase down the Barons. Instead I'll reflect on the state of the team.
I started with the idea of a Houston theme but I can't fight the random number goods. The Mad Brewers are a running team! c - Al Evans (can't run) 1b - Franklin Stubbs (can't really run) 2b - Jon Farrell 3b - Tommy Leach ss - Mark Belanger (so so at running but I'll take him!) lf - Greasy Meale cf - Daryl Boston / Brian Hunter lf - Bunk Congalton dh - Dan McGann sp - Irv Young sp - Chris Holt sp - Ed Halicki sp - Jon Gray sp - Mel Harder and a bullpen that features J Bagby, O Moreno and a cast of five relievers from the Bronze tournament team that has brought Belanger, Leach, Congalton, and Farrell to Mad Brewers. |

I don’t usually save my packs but I did have a number to open today. Saving them did not help. But if it works for you, go for it!

Barring any new pickups today, here's the Waffletown Syrups for their Rookie league debut.
logged in this morning to find 6 packs waiting for me (must have won the Silver-32 tourney I entered late last night)... nabbed a gold Ron Taylor (RP) to join the squad... surprised to find no facegen for him (also missing one for Jim Winford), so had to toss a couple together for them to have a complete team pic. |

The Mad Brewer looks good in game even if he is a little rough. BTW, the curl is still there but it is white and doesn't show!

Thank you Jobu and Jason
So, I followed the sage advice about grabbing the cheap lives and then set about grabbing the gold pack mission rewards. I set myself a budget of 800 or fewer PP per pack, so it also seemed like a nice bargain, with the packs going for less than 1,000 PP. Well, I ended up grabbing eight of them and they filled in nicely with some historical golds to bolster the lineup. I decided to grab some standard packs to round it up to 15, and Jobu took over. My third standard pack dropped 100 Historical Legend Brian McCann. He doesn't have an established value on the AH yet, so I guess he's my catcher for now, until I see if he gets worth something. Almost tempted to put him up for a ridiculous price to try and beach a whale.
Anyway, thanks Jason for the prod and thanks Jobu. By the way, I hope folks will post their playoff results should OL teams prove successful. It would be nice to hand out some PT hardware. |

Nice surprise when I got home last night :)
Looks like all three of my teams made a run for the finish yesterday while I was gone, The Bullets went 14-9, the Grays went 16-7, and the Barons went 15-8 !! Two teams are in the playoffs and I have a patch to put on my Barons uniforms.
I have some PPs on all three teams to think about today, but I'm in no hurry until Monday. My first week (ever) in the OL proved to be a great start for PT22. Thank you all for bringing the excitement back to the game. Last edited by HRBaker; 04-04-2021 at 10:12 AM. |

friendly reminder to all: Check your settings and ensure you have "use friend's list" selected in your profile, and then make sure you have all the OL teams in your tier checked off.... should have a huge number in Rookie tomorrow (think I saw only 3 current Rookie teams in the promotion, so might end up with 24 or so OL teams in tomorrow's Rookie tier) |

I broke down and opened my packs. Picked up Scipio Spinks. Good stuff and movement, no control. Also got a gold live Conforto (so 1,000 pts) and couple of players that will work on my tourney roster.
No missions for me this year. Busy setting up my random debut league. I spent so much time on PT in the last version that I didn't do much else. I want more time for my projects this go round. |

I partially agree in that, since I eschew the mission reward special edition cards for play, I'll just pick off the missions that have pack rewards. They did help fill out the roster. This is the roster that will debut for Port Ruppert, the only original OL team still playing. |
