Mike Montgomery was signed by the Jays as a Minor League Free Agent and was called up to make a spot start. He pitched into the 7th, leading his new team to a 3-0, shutout victory over the team that he first made it to the Majors with - the Royals.

Yoshi Tsutsugo and Rowdy Tellez homered for Toronto.

The Toronto power bats were on display today, even Breyvic Valera got a home run. It was George Springer's 1st inning Grand Slam that set the stage for the 10-2 win over the Royals.

Danny Jansen also homered.

On a more concerning note, Marcus Semien left the game early with an apparent injury to his hand. We await word.

The Jays are only a half game behind the Yankees (and have an eight game lead on the 2nd Wild Card - the White Sox).

Trailing by as much as five, the Blue Jays made game of it, but still fell just short, losing 6-5 to Cleveland.

Cavan Biggio homered twice and Lourdes Gurriel Jr. went deep once for Toronto.

The Jays lost this one in the 9th, giving up two runs and losing 5-3 to Cleveland.

Cavan Biggio homered for the 10th time this year.

Giancarlo Stanton was hit by a pitch in the knee and was forced from the game. We believe it was intentional.

If there wasn't enough reasons to dislike Cleveland.

Hyun-jin Ryu's return to the field went well, thanks in a large part to Bo Bichette, who smashed two home runs as the Jay beat Cleveland, 7-2.

Rowdy Tellez also homered.
