Update: 2 SF appearances in the quicks today, 6 packs. Also finished in the last 16 of the Wednesday Wakey Wakey Gold to get a 77 Ken Forsch.

Well, I got 10 packs overnight which is encouraging, got 1 live and 1 historical gold along with BAL Vida Blue. Also got 6k from a daily PD (got second)

I should've known that reading this thread would prove too much temptation for me. It's such a wonderful group and the new additions seem to fit right in. Of course, the game is not cooperating, which seems sadly typical. This year, however appears worse.



Unfortunately, or fortuitously, depending on your point of view, we are currently working mandatory overtime to help other units, so I won't be able to do much with my teams, except perhaps to log in and out to get those easy rewards. That situation looks like it will last another month or so. With that in mind, I would ask, when is the best time to open starter packs to get the most bang for my buck? I hope you say Sunday morning, since that is the best time for me.



I hope I can get together tourney lineups for the three teams so I can at least enter daily tournaments, since spamming them won't be possible. In any event, I hope OL is going strong when I can get back in. See you soon...uh, probably later.

Nice.... haven't had much regular tourney luck, but to be honest, I haven't put much effort into lineup research... been spending funds on live cards to fill out those missions (nabbed Sliding Billy Hamilton for the leadoff spot... batting a solid .345 in 199 ABs; and Rabbit Maranville for 2B... anything from his bat is a bonus, but gives a solid defense all around the infield now with Boog Powell (89 def), Maranville (113 def), Tommy Corcoran (95 def) and Brooks (95 def)).

speaking of spending... won CYS in last night's stream (huzzah ), so waiting on those funds to show up so I can spend them all

I have no willpower when it comes to pack opening... if I see one pack in my inventory, it's getting opened (cause I know even if I hold onto it to get a bunch of them, or wait for the release of some fancy new cards, I'm not going to pull anything worthwhile anyway )

I guess what I'm asking is when's the best time to open them to get a full week in the entry league? I figure, if I get lucky with pulls, and turn up the offense, I might rack up a few points. Between loyalty and login, I've already got like 15 packs and 4K for the Rustlers and Mundys. I also have no willpower, except that my current schedule is forcing it on me.


By the way, the team that is currently fading toward the relegation line after a decent start in bronze .217 is the Aceldama Butchers, the new name for the Asylum Keepers. They were actually the Keepers in PT 19, and have now moved back to Aceldama.

There's actually an OL team in there, the SaulCentre Landsharks.

ah... to be safe, I'd say Monday morning after the pro/rel movement of last week has completed.... might miss a couple entry league games for the week, but nothing that would make a difference really

Wow! That's not really an option. I'm already at work by then. Think I'll post a general thread and hope an insider will see it and answer (as if). Otherwise, I'll just do it tomorrow morning and lose the entry week. Thanks for trying.

5 packs overnight, one of them had a 100 Tex Hughson in it. Tournament cashes are going down though and that's a bit alarming for me. The rest of the iron field is catching on and it might soon be time to either change things up or go to another format entirely.

It's now safe to stop taking advice from me. People are figuring things out, so I've been shutout of the packs for the second straight afternoon.

Definitely time to find an easier format to win in.

Good week in Waffletown so far.... v22 Syrups went 108-54 in Gold tier, finishing the season with a 10 game winning streak (still just 3rd best in the conference, so post season projections are iffy at best)....

v23 Syrups went 104-58 in Iron tier (tops in the league), led by a solid pitching staff (ERA crown to Dan Haren - 2.75; Most pitching wins to Pedro Martinez - 19; Most strikeouts to Pedro Martinez - 286; Highest pitcher WAR to Chris Bosio - 6.6... offensive side was the Boog Powell show, as he led the team in batting average (.293), home runs (47), RBIs (122), hits (175), runs scored (90), and WAR (4.6)... (had plenty of others who finished with a higher average, but didn't qualify for the leaderboard due to lack of ABs)... top record can only mean one thing heading into the playoffs - a first round defeat to the Wild Card team (prove me wrong, folks... prove me wrong )

With 12 teams moving up to Gold, all with .500 W/L results or better, I believe my visit would have been short lived.

Considering my good initial pulls (including Mike Trout 100 which netted me 26k PP) I was gifted the first week jump to Silver. My goal will now be to reach Gold AND STAY THERE, which I think will be hard enough as is.

Still hoping the Friends List gets fixed today, but I have my doubts. By the time OL gets going, we'll mostly be well established teams and miss out on all the Bronze and Silver competition

I wonder if the Friends List will be working before my 12 hour workdays end. I'm guessing it will be awhile because there is a long delay in OOTP answering reports of problems. It's probably 10 days since my initial report of crashes in 3D and I've heard back from them twice with suggestions that shifted the problem back into my lap. Their latest suggestion was that my graphics card couldn't handle openGL 3.1 (which their web site states as required). I replied with any attachment showing my card did indeed support it, but nothing except crickets since. I guess they're up to their eyeballs in problems with the PT launch. It would be nice if they would come clean about it instead of just aggravating people with silence and deflection. Ah, well. I used my second license to install the game onto my laptop, and the graphics work fine. The card in that is an AMD Radeon, while my desktop is an Intel, so therein probably lies the conflict, which it seems to me, given the size of Intel, they should be able to work out. However, my technical expertise is fairly lacking, so maybe not.

Because of my schedule, I decided to open my loyalty packs for Port Ruppert and Terra Incognita while watching hockey last night, and, of course, no Brooks Robinson on the Mundys roster (Since then, I tried to restart the game and he showed up Ugh, this game). Pulls were mediocre, so, with only on Sundays ahead of me for awhile, I think even the Friends List will beat them to the opening of OL.

Aceldama will remain in bronze. Hopefully, their Pedro won't be the worst in league again. Sorry for being so negative, but I guess I just needed to vent. I've attached my roster and stats.

110-52 in bronze, promoted to silver. Pipped to the best record in the league by a scrub team that had the benefit of a trash division. Probably set for a divisional round loss even though I'm still the only person in my league with any perfects...but more importantly, we begin a new feature where I descend into madness as my tournament cash percentage plummets.

Magus's Log - Tournament Slump Day 2

Woke up to find absolutely nothing except a nice little hangover. As my cash percentage continues to plummet, so do my hopes and dreams. With how bad I'm running this weekend, hitting the bar before dinner cannot be ruled out.

The only way past this will be to get so drunk that I feel nothing and pass out on the keyboard.

The Seals finished 67-95 in the Silver, unfortunately not bad enough to get demoted but at lest I'll be staying put.

Fort Davis spent 2022 in Iron, where it will stay for the foreseeable future. So far the Waves are Pack-only, winning absolutely nothing from tournaments. Just barely good enough to avoid relegation. A long season ahead...but actually enjoyable as I try to deal with what the Pack Gods allow.

As usual, there is no justice for someone who puts in the effort to win.
