Another birthplace issue (assuming right city, wrong state was/is being fixed): Daric Barton (bartoda02 / barton001dar) imports from Springfield, MA rather than Springfield, VT.

Also, I note that Rube Schauer (schauru01 / schaue001ale) has inconsistent info -- you're using his official MLB info (Kamenka, Russia) rather than Baseball Reference (Odesa, Ukraine, which is confirmed in his SABR Biography Project article). While I would consider that an error, others may not

Bill Loughran (loughl002---) import in the game with the wrong name (Bill Loughlin) and it took me a while to find him... but more important: he doesn't have a real stats tab even if he played one season, ok just 9 games, for the New York Gothams in 1884.

When playing with real-life transactions, Billy Goodman (historical id: goodmbi01) starts the 1962 season with the Houston Colt .45s.

In reality, he was a member of the Chicago White Sox until 4/3/62 (the save starts on 3/30/62), and then signed by the Colt .45s on 5/15/62, so the Houston team incorrectly gets him for 5 weeks at the start of the season.

Looks like there are two entries for Goodman before the 1962 season begins. On 1/2, he is made inactive for HOU. On 4/3, he is released by CHA. Either transaction should have made him unavailable before 5/15, when HOU signed him as a FA. I can't say for sure, but I'd guess the 1/2 transaction was added so that Goodman will not appear at all for CHA in 1962 (in case the 4/3 transaction does not trigger for some reason -- which, in fact, might be what happened once upon a time, thus the need for the additional transaction). But that's only a guess. Regardless, I don't see how Goodman would be available for HOU those five weeks at the start of the season.

Create a historical season for 1962, Replay Mode, accept all defaults. Start the game and look at the Houston roster. Billy Goodman is right there.

Jim Busby and George Brunet are two other players who begin on the Houston roster but they get moved to their proper location on Opening Day and then return to Houston later in the season. Billy Goodman should be getting released like Busby, but he doesn't

Got it. That's an incorrect Historical Minors ID too. I'll need to change the fg file name going forward.

I'm positive I sent him under that wrong id in the universal pack since he wouldn't have loaded under the right one (mccaff004---), but if you correct the id I'll do the same with my shared FG file in my next update.

Fixed. Interestingly, his given name is "William Wiman Andrus" with no "y" to be found. But I changed to match BBR.

That explains why the game use Wiman... maybe it's a case where BBref is wrong considering he played one game and his ML career was over?

Hi, sorry if this has already been talked about before. I've posted about it on reddit in the past but did not get sufficient answers. I love doing historical sims but I always run into the same problem when free agency kicks in during the 1977 season (same issue in different versions of the game). I frequently have lots of players that are willing to take minor league deals.

For example, free agents just filed after the 1979 season and half of the "top 10" free agents have no salary demands and will take a minor league contract that I mentioned above. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Is there a way to fix it?
