After another Bowden Francis HR saturated appearance, I'd had enough and don't see any point in demoting him to 3A, so I shopped him ...

Normally, I wouldn't trade in the same league, let alone the same division. But, in this case, I HOPE he pitches against us, we need the boost in HR.

Still on track for the goals, getting nervous about RF Nathan Church. Looking for options. Every time we try to upgrade RF Gonzalez (Castellanos in 2025), Oscar gets hot.

I have an idea of the OPS each player needs to have in order to keep getting regular playing time. I should list them and compare to reality. Maybe I will next time.

Anthony, Barrosa, and Gonzalez are all performing higher than expected. While I'm super happy about it, it's not the new expectation.

Albies, Arenado, and Alvarez are the 3 main under performers on the team.

Lesson Learned: Don't draft/sign batters whose names start with A.

Bullpen is slipping a bit, we've had some metldowns, but they were were over producing so much that some of it is just regression and bullpen volatility.

I have to say when your RP comes in, gives up that OOTP IF hit, followed by a WP and 2 HBP .... you know that bases clearing double is coming.

This season, the batters seem to feel, for lack of a better word, "nerfed". Not the stars so much, but the average batter. So few threats in lineups, too many games 0-0 in the 5th/6th with each team having 1-2 hits, good relievers are nearly unhittable, etc.

So I looked at the league totals, and I had the box "lock league totals" checked with these figures.



I started doing the math on "stats per game" and it's wonky, like 21AB per team per game, 5 hits per game, per team, etc. Admittingly I do not have a ton of knowledge in how the league totals work, but I know I probably should not have had the league totals box checked, and I don't think I actively did that.

Anyway, while researching info about league totals I found some "80s themed" totals/modifiers that seem to be similar to the work I had done trying to find an "average 1980s setup", and I've been using them for the past 15 games or so, 45-60g in the season .... and they are playing beautifully. It's hurting my bullpen stats, but so be it.

Montreal has 3 MVP contenders in the top 6, that'll lead to consistent success in the standings.

It's not even All-Star break and Ohtani has 4 war and 5 WPA, that's insane. Also 1 WAR as a pitcher. That's ridiculous.

In terms of MVP race, Bobby Witt Jr may be entering a run similar to Bonds in Pittsburgh ... where reporters almost look for a reason for somebody else to win it .... because he's so dominant, and excellent in all facets.
