Curious, Cusick ... Have there ever been a set, here in OOTP, of community player photos of the Negro League players' faces ? ... if not, it would be awesome

Photos of Negro League Players' Faces
Quote:
Changing the subject for a moment, the connection of Angel Villazon (posted above by Dto7) to the Negro Leagues is that Angel was with the Long Branch Cubans just before being picked up by the Boston Braves. |

players hereStrat-O-Shack: Archive Scroll down toward the bottom of the page. They're all sized at 180/270 and a good number of them are colorized. I'm working on a bunch of new images now and many more will be offered in the coming months. |

Frank Miller
Frank Miller, P/OF, is shown in the uniform of the Cuban Giants. This comes from the team photo of the Cuban Giants of Trenton and New York, "Colored Champions of 1887 and 1888" displayed on John Thorn's blog.

R. W. White
R. W. White is shown in the uniform of the Cuban Giants. He is listed simply as an 1887 player in James Riley's Encyclopedia and in the Negro Baseball Register by Clark and Lester, so I don't know what position he played. This is another extraction from that same Cuban Giants team photo cited above.

John Frye
John H. "Jack" Frye (aka Fry), 1B/C/P, is shown in the uniform of the Cuban Giants. A nice head shot of Frye was posted previously on this thread, but it showed him in street clothes. This might suffice if someone is interested in seeing a photo of him in a Negro Leagues uniform.

Benjamin Boyd
Benjamin Boyd, 2B/OF, is shown in the uniform of the Cuban Giants. Benjamin is another example of a player whose photo was posted previously on this thread as a head shot in street clothes, but this attachment enables us to see him in a Negro Leagues uniform.

JImmy Claxton
James "Jimmy" Claxton, P, is shown in an Oakland Oaks uniform. I had previously posted artwork of him in an Oakland uniform, but this image provides a photo image from his Zeenut baseball card. Jimmy was with the Cuban Stars in 1932.

Agustin Bejerano
Agustin Bejerano was an outfielder with the Cuban Stars in 1928 and 1929. He is shown here in an unidentified uniform. He spent a number of years in the Mexican League, and there was no team with the initials "RD" in that league. My best guess is that those initials on his cap stand for Republica Dominicana, i.e. the Dominican Republic. I think I found a sentence on Internet in Spanish which indicates that he played in the Dominican Republic in 1936, but I'm not sufficiently fluent in Spanish to be certain.

Lyman Bostock Sr.
Lyman Bostock, Sr., 1B/OF/SS, is shown in the uniform of the Birmingham Black Barons. Lyman's photo was posted previously on this thread, but it showed him in the uniform of the Winnepeg Buffaloes of the ManDak League, rather than with a Negro Leagues team.

Ramon Bragana
Ramon Bragana was a pitcher with the Cuban Stars, Stars of Cuba, and New York Cubans during the 1928-37 period. After a lengthy stint in the Mexican League, he returned to the Negro Leagues to play for the Cleveland Buckeyes in 1947. He also played some outfield during his career. He is shown in both photos wearing the uniform of the Almendares, Cuba, team.

John Britton
John "Jack" Britton, 3B, is shown in the uniform of the Indianapolis Clowns. A photo of John was posted previously on this thread, but it showed him in the uniform of the Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, team, rather than a team from the Negro Leagues.
