Cal Emery and Don Erickson

Photos of these two as Phillies have already been posted on this website on the following page: Gambo and T_Wil1 Photopack - Page 324 - OOTP Developments Forums

Quickly glancing through your list I noticed Wyatt, shown below in 1966.

Here is an image of Duane Theiss which I used to mock-up a 1978 Topps Baseball card image. The image itself may very well be from 1977 - I don't know. I found this image on the net; I don't have a record of the specific source (I had thought it was this site, but I can't relocate it now). If anyone can identify the source, I will be happy to update this post and my own records.

Davis May

Continuing the response to Rico43's inquiry, this image of Davis May shows him with the Syracuse Chiefs. Davis May was a pitcher who was on the Minnesota Twins' 1978 spring roster, along with being an in-season call-up who did not play, as previously mentioned.

Generally Speaking

We don't do career minor leaguers here, but here are Curtis Moore and Gene Holbert.

I am humbled and grateful for everyone who has taken the time to look. The no-minors rule I understand, but so many of these guys were in MLB camps and are part of the Topps archives, this seemed like the only place to reach out.
A notable exception, I hope, is that incredibly bad run of No. 1 picks by the Braves; I am a lifetime Braves fan who attended games in 1966, and hadn't heard all of those names, much less seen the photos. Merkle923 is evidence enough of you never know what's there!

I want to return the favor, but some images I have scanned out of old Braves yearbooks won't cooperate by letting me insert or paste them. Can somebody direct me to a tutorial about downloading or pasting photos?

Merkle is correct, we generally reserve this thread for major league players. We have a dedicated thread for career minor leaguers here. Coaches, managers, umpires and Negro Leaguers all have their own threads, which you can find linked in my signature lines.

As for posting images, here is a tutorial I put together a few years ago. Hopefully it will help.

Welcome aboard Rico from a fellow Braves fan in Tennessee. I started following the Braves in 1970 in Nashville on WSM at the age of six and have been a loyal fan ever since. I suppose that your name is from the Beeg Boy, Rico Carty, one of my early favorites.

Here are a few from your list:

Curtis Moore (a second option to the one already posted by Merkle above - also from Topps Vault 1971) / an action shot of Denny McLain (from 1972 and Steve's Baseball Photography Page) / Al Santorini (1968 - alas only black & white) / Angel Hermoso (also only a black & white from 1967 or 1968) / Ken Smith (undated between 1981-83)

Andy Finlay

Continuing the response to the Rico43 request, Andy Finlay was an outfielder who was on the Braves' spring roster in 1969 and 1970. I agree with the two posts which have stated that future requests for photos of minor leaguers should go onto the minor league thread instead of here.

Rookie mistake

But I am intrigued if anyone will have success finding Topps-quality Phillies' camp photos of Mike Marshall (especially), Norm Gigon, Hank Allen, Cal Emery and Lee Elia. Several non-MLB guys from that era have surfaced (Raffo, Reams, Messerly) as well as early Fergie Jenkins. Could they be part of the apparently significant number of images that are still unidentified?

Trying again to post the Bob D. Johnson photo that has eluded us so far:

Found one Braves No. 1 pick myself!

Dick Grant, the Braves' first-ever No. 1 pick, has been found in a local newspaper article, of all things. Never seen the guy before, but the article made it clear that it came from the source, as it were.

Again, thanks to all. Future discussions will be on the minors thread.

Facepack Update Released

I have completed and uploaded the 2014 end-of-season release of the Facepack. This version includes 405 new photos:

232 new player photos, including 160 new 2014 player debuts
10 new manager photos, including 2 new 2014 manager debut
37 new coach photos, including 5 new 2014 coach debuts
126 new umpire photos, including 1 new 2014 umpire debut

Since the last Facepack release in June, 13 formerly-missing players, two missing managers and 109 formerly-missing umpires have been found. I have also corrected four player ID errors. I renamed eight player photos, one manager photo, nine coach photos and four umpire photos to remain consistent with SABR and Baseball-Reference.com.

You can see additional details about this release, along with download links, on my Facepack page.

If you use and enjoy the Facepack, please consider making a small donation to help me justify all the time I spend tracking down baseball photos to my family. There is also a direct PayPal link on my Facepack page.
