Personally, I don't think they are the best work here that I've ever done, at least in terms of items I've made and posted to these forums. But they still do look good, at least for the most part, perhaps, I think. Thanks for the kind words here, though, in any case, EC. CD out.

But I think I do, or will, like working with certain gradients at least every so often, if they're good gradients, just the same. I strongly suspect there may be at least a few more gradient-using items I'll eventually come to make in the future, either for existing teams, whether real or fictional, or for future teams, in truth. So don't be all that surprised if you happen to see more such items posted here periodically in the future, EC, whether for my things or for other people's things, just so you know. CD out.

I may need to start a second league so that I could use those Saints uniforms, among many other uniforms from several creators on this forum. I agree with EC - they are exceptionally well done.

How did Calemund Holmes, Tiamghan Parverol, and Sikander Garber each do for their various teams, at least statistics-wise, in 1978? What do their respective current ratings look like so far, as well? Just curious, that's all, jg2977. CD out.

You can see Tiamghan's basic stats in the post above. Sikander won the Rookie of the Year award for the Tycobbian Union.

jg2977, I probably won't have enough items done yet for the Tuckanarra Blue Jays that you just requested here from me until sometime this weekend, at the earliest. But if you give me a few days or so, at least, then perhaps I can have some items done for them in time for the 1979 season, I think. Just so you know, in any case. CD out.

EC, I disagree with you that it was a mistake to have the IPA so large, at least in terms of its overall framework. I think the more teams and/or leagues that are in a game world, the better it may often be for people. But, of course, you are perfectly free to disagree with me on this point, you know. True, it may make certain things more difficult to deal with at times, but I honestly don't think you made a mistake having your IPA be so large, ultimately. Nor is it a mistake for jg2977 to have so many teams in his IPA, either, I believe.
I have suggested multiple times that he should perhaps consider splitting up the IPA that he has into multiple levels, whether that would then lead to a minor league system or to a promotion/relegation system, but to this point, he hasn't budged on either suggestion, if he ever will, which appears quite unlikely at this time to me. However, he is now considering realignment of the 80 teams currently in his IPA, and I am helping him out by working on some maps for his updated IPA whenever and however I can. If I were to estimate the amount of area on Earth's surface the maps would cover, if overlaid with the main map's area, I would have to say one corner would probably be located in and/or around New York City, one corner directly east of New York City ending up somewhere in Turkey, a third corner ending up in and/or around Jerusalem, Israel, and a fourth corner ending up directly south of New York City and directly west of Jerusalem, somewhere roughly due east of Savannah, Georgia, more or less. I'd estimate maybe about 50-60 percent of that might possibly be covered by land area, but I'm not entirely sure about that here, in any case. However, his IPA will be set on an Earth-like world, it seems. While I don't have all the bodies of water named or placed yet, for instance, on the relevant maps, I have still been adding various cities and towns, at least, to the maps whenever and wherever possible and all, for sure. I hope to have many more places and features on the relevant maps placed and labeled as needed and all by the time he gets to the 1981 season, if at all possible, most definitely. The map work is coming along fairly nicely so far, I think, but there's probably still quite a bit more to do for the relevant maps, even on a basic enough scale here. I'll try to have my take on the Tuckanarra Blue Jays up by no later than sometime tomorrow. Do you think you could please post what you have now for Glasco's Foxhounds and/or Athletics variants, if you haven't already posted them on the forums, or someone else hasn't? I've tried to find items for the Glasco Foxhounds, at least, for sure. But to date, I don't think I've seen any such items for them recently, if at all, EC. Talk more with you later, as time permits and all, I'm quite sure. Thank you for your time and attention and all here, then, EC. That's all for this post here, I suppose. CD out.

Tuckanarra Blue Jays items so far
As requested, here are some Tuckanarra Blue Jays-related items for you to consider using in your IPA, jg2977. They are similar, perhaps, to certain items I've done so far on my take for the Toronto Blue Jays which isn't fully created or posted yet, in truth. But, hopefully, they will still satisfy you sufficiently well here, just the same.
The font on the home uniform and cap currently is Cherry Swash, while the font on the away uniform and cap currently is euroference. The color-related information for my current take on the Tuckanarra Blue Jays is below, as follows: 041e43 Oxford Blue (4, 30, 67) ee333f Imperial Red (238, 51, 63) b33f57 English Red (179, 63, 87) 4cc9f0 Vivid Sky Blue (76, 201, 240) Hope you like these items here, of course. I can make changes to these items as you like, and/or add more items, if you want me to, as well. Just let me know what you think of these, and if you want me to make more items for possible use by this team here, please. I can certainly make dark blue alternate items for both home and away here, if you want me to, for sure, as well, jg2977. CD out.

I have found that the smaller the league, the easier it is to learn the teams and the players... easier to become immersed in the league.
When I was growing up we only had 16 teams in the Major League... I knew all of the teams' lineups and pitching rotations... also no free agency kept the teams fairly constant as far as players. Now we have 30 teams in MLB with free agency and constant changes in rosters year after year... you really do need a scorebook to know who's playing now. In my Islandian Pro Alliance I have 64 teams to take care of and report on... this is impossible to do... I only really know the 8 teams that make the playoffs...and really and truly, I really only know 2 teams well -- the 2 teams that make the Pro Cup Finals. For smaller leagues are far more enjoyable... small leagues win by a landslide in my opinion. |

Yes, with free agency present here for MLB, it's very rare to see players play their whole careers with one team nowadays. Smaller leagues, on average, may be best, in certain ways, as you've said, EC. But I still like to see a lot of teams playing, whenever possible, in a game world. Whether it's one of mine or someone else's, in truth.
I still hold to the belief, however, that you DID NOT make a mistake when you made the IPA so large. It might have been better, though, when you did, to have created a multi-level setup like you were likely thinking of doing early on in the league creation process, by making certain teams minor league affiliates of certain other teams, or using a promotion/relegation-type plan for the league, if you could have. But you didn't, when you expanded the IPA, evidently. And that is probably because OOTP didn't have that capability yet, or at least not like it does now, right? It's too late to split up the IPA into different levels or different leagues, no doubt, now that it's accumulated so much history for it here. Maybe if you'd have been able to do that early on, or even started like that, it would be easier to do, if at all possible. But that wasn't how things turned out for you here, of course, EC. In any case, where will both AG and GC end up playing this year in your IPA, if at all possible, perhaps? Just wondering, that's all, EC. As for how they are in jg2977's IPA, they're probably no more than a year, if even that, away from retiring, especially since their only/elder sons are now on Glasco, at least for the 1979 postseason. I don't think GC and AG will play in 1980, prior to his likely realignment for the 80th Anniversary season of his IPA in 1981, but we'll have to see. There isn't much more that they'll likely be able to do in his IPA as players, I think, if anything, if they were to play in 1980, that they haven't done. GC won't likely set the Glasco pitching strikeouts record now simply because he missed pitching in three seasons that could have perhaps helped his chances of doing so, at least. If he'd pitched in 1976 through 1978, he probably would have already broken it, or at least come very close to the team record in question for Glasco. But he didn't, so that's something I'll have to likely live with here, especially because he's nearly done, if not done, after this year, and it's quite unlikely either of us actually wants to see him still pitching until he's 49 or 50, which is probably what it would take for him to break it now, I think. As long as he is still playing, his only son can't take over for him fully, it seems to me, on the mound. Talk more later, as time allows and all, I'm sure. Hopefully jg2977 will like the items posted for Tuckanarra's Blue Jays well enough to perhaps use them in the future, somehow. Thank you for your time and all, as always, of course, EC. That's all for this post here, at least, then, I think. CD out.

I’ll be glad to use your Tuckanarra uniforms. They played well this past season, unfortunately fell only a few wins short of making the playoffs.
As for a promotion/relegation system, I’d like to try one with a simple setup, like EC’s South Island League. Perhaps 8 teams in a Supreme League, and 8 in a Secondary League. I’d relegate the last-place team of the Supreme League and promote the Secondary League champion. I may even have 3 levels with 24 teams total. Last edited by jg2977; 03-27-2022 at 03:57 PM. |

I've made two other Tuckanarra Blue Jays-related uniforms, one home and one away, as possible alternate items that you could perhaps also use for them in your IPA, so far. Would you like to see them or not, jg2977? If so, please let me know. Thank you. CD out.

Maybe when OOTP23 comes out, I’ll try a promotion/relegation league. Just 16 teams to start out, 2 levels. I could always expand later if I like it. I’d use Low’s uniforms and logos, as they are superb graphics. Probably set it up like this, putting the largest cities by population in the primary league to start out, and less-populated cities in the secondary league. Premier League New York Los Angeles Toronto Chicago Houston Montreal Philadelphia Phoenix Championship League San Antonio San Diego Dallas San Francisco Washington Boston Charlotte Miami Something like that. What do you think, CD? Last edited by jg2977; 03-27-2022 at 08:56 PM. |

Let me get back to you on that, please, jg2977. In the meantime, would you like to see the alternate uniforms I made for Tuckanarra's Blue Jays? And perhaps try to come up with more names to possibly put on various regional maps, as well, prior to the 1981 season, as well? Especially for the already-marked locations that don't yet have names on at least one of the quarter-maps in question here, for instance?
If there's any current team or teams from your IPA not yet on my list that I haven't previously done any work for which you may perhaps want to see work done for by me, at least to a degree, please let me know. As for the other league or leagues you might currently have in mind for the next version of the game, let's both wait to try and create them together until after we have the new alignment and all other needed details worked out for the IPA for the 1981 season and beyond, at least. That doesn't mean, of course, that we can't discuss possible settings and all for it or them, you know, though. But let's do everything in as logical an order as possible here, for sure. I'll even let you perhaps try to add at least a few of my fictional nations to your next game world, at least to some degree, if you like and can. I'd have to check certain dynasties of mine from multiple versions of OOTP Baseball, of course, but I still think I can help you out at least a bit with the appropriate details for those nations and all, if so. After you have those fictional nations in your game, at least to a degree, if not entirely, then you can set the relevant variables as you like for players and all, of course, just like usual, I'm sure, if you know how to do it well enough and all, jg2977. While I haven't necessarily included my fictional nations in all my dynasties, of course, I have added at least a few of them to certain dynasties' game worlds, in truth. Talk more later, as time permits and all, I'm quite sure. Thank you for your time and attention and all here, then, of course, jg2977. That's all for this post here, at least, I suppose. CD out.

Yes, I did say that I would like to see alternate uniforms for the Tuckanarra Blue Jays. Thanks.
For my next dynasty I'd prefer to just use North American cities, so I won't need to use any fictional nations, thanks. Last edited by jg2977; 03-27-2022 at 09:43 PM. |
