Indeed. And I was not the one to send him there; the AI did it all on its own.

July 2301 - BNN Weekly Report - July 22
BNN Weekly Report This Week in the CBO, BMU, and GBRL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 22 July 2301 Players of the Week Erb Takes This Week's Trophy: It's always a thrill for fans of the team and students of the game alike when a superstar in the making shows what he's got. Jamaica Plain Red Rockets: Activated RF Goody Cloyse from the injured list. Standings Team Power Rankings Weekly Team Power Rankings: Here are the current team power rankings for Commonwealth Baseball Organization: Teams (Total Points, Tendency): 1) Nordhagen Beach Party Boys (137.8, o) 2) University Point Deathclaws (120.7, +) 3) Vault 81 Dwellers (115.5, -) 4) Atom Cats (104.8, o) 5) Diamond City Swatters (100.5, ++) 6) FHE Yao Guai (98.6, +) 7) County Crossing Bloodbugs (98.3, ++) 8) Concord Radstags (97.6, +) 9) Starlight Lady Killers (97.6, +) 10) Salem Witch Hats (97.5, --) 11) Fort Hagen Silver Shroud (95.6, -) 12) Goodneighbor Hancocks (93.6, +) 13) Egret Ninjas (93.0, --) 14) Abernathy Adamantium (92.2, --) 15) Jamaica Plain Red Rockets (86.7, +) 16) Quincy Gunners (84.7, -) 17) Easy Town Assaultrons (83.7, -) 18) Oberland T-51s (77.5, +) 19) Finch Farm Four Leafs (74.2, +) 20) Sunshine Tidings Chemists (72.8, +) 21) The Slog Ghouls (72.2, --) 22) Lexington Synths (59.3, +) 23) Roxbury Rad Sox (56.6, -) 24) Warwick Mirelurks (47.8, o) Analysis As we approach the last six weeks of the season, there are sure signs of a few teams that look to be in the playoffs this season, and some that are just playing out the schedule. In the middle? A whole lot of irradiated muck! Nordhagen Beach (#1) remains the top seed and is starting to look a lot like the 2299 Diamond City club. The Party Boys went 4-1 on the week with a sweep at Institute League-leader Abernathy (#14, down from #8 after a 1-4 week) and a series win over Salem (#10). Those series gave the Boys a 14-game lead in the Brotherhood League over the Witch Hats and a 15-game lead over the Adamantium. Nordhagen Beach's Magic # is now just 17 for clinching the #1 overall seed in the NCA. University Point clawed its way to the #2 spot by going 4-1 on the week. The Deathclaws swept FHE (#6) and then won 2 of 3 versus Goodneighbor (#12) to keep the two teams fighting for the 5th spot in the SCA tied. The Claws also assume a six-game lead in the Minutemen League and a four-game lead for the top spot in the SCA. Vault 81 (#3) drops a spot this week after a 3-2 week. They started right by sweeping Warwick (#24) but then lost 2 of 3 at Diamond City (#5). The Swatters also went 3-2 on the week to remain three back in the Railroad League. Still, their 16-0 win on Saturday was a definite morale boost in the battle for the RL. The Swatters also split with Jamaica Plain (#15) in the midweek. The Atom Cats are the #4 team after going 3-2. They split with a recently hot team in Egret (#13) and then won 2 of 3 against the Mirelurks, only dropping the Sunday game, 1-0. The NCA playoff race is still wild (see current playoff standings below) with four teams within a game of the #4 and #5 spots. Fort Hagen (#11) currently holds the fourth spot thanks to a 6-3 season series record against Concord (#8) and a 5-4 record against Starlight (#9). The Radstags hold the 5th spot over the Lady Killers thanks to an 8-1 season series record, clinching already that season series. County Crossing (#7) is just one game behind of all three IL teams above. Along with Starlight, the Bloodbugs have been the hottest team in the NCA over the last two weeks with a 7-3 record. Only Vault 81 (8-2 in their last 10) has been hotter in the CBO. Playoff Picture Through 78 Games NCA: 1. Nordhagen Beach (Playoff Magic Number = 14) 2. Abernathy 3. Salem 4. Fort Hagen (current head-to-head tiebreakers over Concord and Starlight) 5. Concord (current head-to-head tiebreaker over Starlight) Close: 6. Starlight 7. County Crossing 8. Easy Town SCA: 1. University Point 2. Vault 81 3. Atom 4. Diamond City 5T. FHE (no current tiebreakers) 5T. Goodneighbor (no current tiebreakers) Close: 7. Egret Minor League Report BMU Players of the Week CA Presents Player of the Week Trophy: 26-year-old Caleb Sometimes Smith made a few Breakheart Banks headlines during this past week as the rookie right fielder proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and Commonwealth Association officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort. He cracked 5 hits in 11 at-bats to put up a .455 average. Smith collected 3 home runs, 5 RBIs and scored 3 runs. This season in 51 games Smith is batting .327 with 26 home runs, 56 RBIs and has scored 38 times. Fiddler's Green's Boston MA Star of the Week: Americ Boston burst onto the Massachusetts Association stage in a big way last week. This promising rookie third baseman for Fiddler's Green garnered everyone's respect by putting up some remarkable numbers and picking up the Player of the Week trophy. The 22-year-old haunted opposing pitchers hitting .692 (9-for-13) with 2 home runs and 10 RBIs last week. In this current campaign Boston is hitting at a .396 clip with 11 home runs and 49 RBIs. Standings GBRL Players of the Week Beetlejuice on Fire, Named Player of the Week: So far in his young career, Dave Beetlejuice has kept a low profile, but after his performance at the plate last week, he attracted the notice of the rest of the North League in a big way as he was named the Player of the Week today for his efforts. The 19-year-old Lynn Woods Bloatflies shortstop hit at a torrid .700 clip as he collected 7 hits in 10 at-bats, 1 home run, 3 RBIs and 4 runs scored. Thus far this year Beetlejuice is hitting .206 with 3 home runs, 8 RBIs and 17 runs scored. South League Announces #1 Player: It can be difficult for a young player to step out of the shadows and assert himself in the South League, but last week Trapper Minnick of the Atomatoys Factory Buttercups reminded everyone just why he's here as he threw up numbers that made him an easy selection for Player of the Week. Minnick rocked opposing pitching for a .429 average (6-for-14), 2 home runs and 4 RBIs to come away with the award. This season Minnick is hitting .305 with 8 home runs. Standings CBO Current Top Performances

You know, just for something new: Why is Finch Farm so bad? I'm pretty sure I asked this before, but it's been a few seasons, so the answer could change/things progress. They're like the one team that's been consistently terrible. Well, there's been others, but the thing is I'd like Finch Farm if they were good and the others I'm just indifferent about

As of right now, their biggest issue would seem to be pitching talent. However, that is not the case! Their offense is absolutely killing them. I will post their team home page below, and if you look on the right at the Team Position Rankings, you will see that they are in the orange or red at almost every position. That's current, but the hidden is that several players on the list just need to develop: C Blitzen Rosetta (62 POT), 2B Danny Suarez (53), and SS Tib Shorthop (65). They also drafted RF Orcin Cardinal 1st overall (79); have SS Pipe Wallcrawler (65) and 1B Rotten Gaziano (57) in the GBRL; and have CF Base McAndrews (58) not far away from a call-up. For pitching, SP Trolley Dodge (70) and SP Isaiah Swindler (65) are both currently starting and struggling at the CBO level, but they seem that they can be better pitchers. At the minor level, only SP Punky Shaum looks to be a potential CBO starter, so they really need to acquire more pitching talent. Regarding more talent, this next week is trade deadline week, so I am going to start assessing needs for playoff contenders. That means that Finch Farm may be able to offload at least one of its players trending downwards: 3B Peter Tatoeater. If I were GM Jason Thompson, I would try to hold on to some of the young talent, like RF Matt Basile, and good producers, like 1B Joe Mahaney. Quick edit: SP Trolley Dodge is not really struggling: 3-4, 2.94 (7 GS, 8 App) is pretty good.

Standings Team Power Rankings Weekly Team Power Rankings: Here are the current team power rankings for Commonwealth Baseball Organization: Teams (Total Points, Tendency): 1) Nordhagen Beach Party Boys (138.3, o) 2) University Point Deathclaws (120.1, o) 3) Concord Radstags (111.8, ++) 4) Diamond City Swatters (110.1, +) 5) Starlight Lady Killers (106.6, ++) 6) Vault 81 Dwellers (104.3, --) 7) Fort Hagen Silver Shroud (102.6, ++) 8) Atom Cats (100.9, --) 9) Goodneighbor Hancocks (94.3, ++) 10) FHE Yao Guai (92.3, --) 11) Easy Town Assaultrons (91.9, ++) 12) Salem Witch Hats (91.6, -) 13) Quincy Gunners (90.9, ++) 14) County Crossing Bloodbugs (88.1, --) 15) Egret Ninjas (85.9, -) 16) Jamaica Plain Red Rockets (84.7, -) 17) Oberland T-51s (83.2, +) 18) Abernathy Adamantium (79.3, --) 19) Finch Farm Four Leafs (74.6, o) 20) The Slog Ghouls (70.9, +) 21) Roxbury Rad Sox (64.2, +) 22) Sunshine Tidings Chemists (63.6, -) 23) Lexington Synths (59.9, -) 24) Warwick Mirelurks (49.0, o) Analysis The Institute League has gone topsy-turvy as the Abernathy Adamantium (#18) have crashed from their 1st-place position during their current six-game losing streak and 4-14 July. Concord (#3), on a six-game winning streak, swept the Adamantium to take over 1st-place in the IL. Fort Hagen (#7) and Starlight (#5) trail the Radstags by a game. There should be a lot of jockeying for final puzzle pieces among those four teams in an effort to not only secure a playoff spot, but also to win the IL for the #2 seed in the North Charles Association. Nordhagen Beach (#1) and University Point (#2) remain at the top of the Power Rankings and at the top of their associations. The Party Boys now have a Magic Number of 8 to clinch a playoff spot, 10 to clinch the Brotherhood League crown, and 11 for the #1 overall seed. The Deathclaws have a little more work, with a Magic Number of 15 to clinch a playoff spot, 19 to clinch the Minutemen League, and 21 to clinch the #1 overall seed. Diamond City (#4) jumped into the Top 5, mostly due to winning 2 of 3 at Vault 81 (#6) and 4 of 6 in the last two weekends over the Dwellers. The two teams finish their regular-season series tied 6-6, assuming they do not have to play a tiebreaker game to end the season. In current MVP talks, Concord's LF Dan Erb (.345/23/77) has seemed to emerge in the NCA with a hot July. He is hitting .406 with 11 HR and 27 RBI in July alone, and currently leads the NCA in SLG (.655), OPS (1.098), WAR (5.4), TB (203), SAC (7), XBH (45, tied for 1st), OPS+ (190), WPA (4.53), and wOBA (.456). The SCA is more hotly contested right now with four players in the running: University Point's 1B Barker Cocoa (.357/25/69), Quincy's RF Baywatch Fischler (.389/10/41), Vault 81's CF Aesed Hayjen (.352/24/66), and FHE's RF Joe Rathmann (.368/19/61). For pitchers, the NCA's top crown looks to be Nordhagen Beach's SP Beachboy Nut (13-2, 2.12) who leads the NCA in ERA, WAR (6.1), IP (170.0), K (170), K/9 (9.0, tied for 1st), WHIP (0.95), FIP (2.56), ERA+ (198), rWAR (7.1), Opp Avg (.208), Win% (.867), and QS (17). Just like the batters, there is no clear winner in the SCA right now, but we're heavily leaning on the Deathclaws' rookie SP Wilson Beachball (16-3, 3.24) who has probably already earned the top rookie award. Beachball leads the SCA in wins, BABIP (.203), Opp Avg (.200), and Win% (.842). Diamond City's Sheng Kawolski (9-6, 2.97) is also in contention and may earn it now that he is on a better team. Kawolski leads the SCA in K (128), K/BB (6.4), K/9 (9.3), BB/9 (1.4), WHIP (0.95), and FIP (2.54). Playoff Picture Through 83 Games NCA: 1. Nordhagen Beach (Playoff Magic Number = 8) 2. Concord 3. Fort Hagen (current head-to-head tiebreakers over Salem and Starlight) 4. Salem 5. Starlight Close: 6. Abernathy 7. County Crossing 8. Easy Town Sellers: 9. The Slog 10T. Finch Farm 10T. Yeah I'd say that's probably some solid analysis, at least just from looking at the picture myself too. Sometimes I find those ratings don't really capture a player's "X-factor", but when the entire team is rated that low, you can't hope to be pulled up by that alone.

BNN Monthly Report Last Month in the CBO, BMU, and GBRL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 1 August 2301 CBO Trade Tracker County Crossing-Sunshine Tidings Swap: O'Cop for Thompson: It has been in the rumor mill for several weeks, but today team officials for County Crossing and Sunshine Tidings confirmed an agreement. The Bloodbugs dealt 20-year old minor league RHP Rob O'Cop, 20-year old minor league 3B Bro Campbell, and 30-year old minor league RHP Curt Tauntman to the Chemists for 22-year old 3B Cy Thompson and a 9th round draft pick. For the year Human has a 5-8 record with a 4.26 ERA in 21 starts. Roxbury-FHE Deal: Ratican for Lock: You can't always get what you want, but sometimes you find a deal anyway. The Baseball News Network is reporting that Roxbury and FHE have made a swap with 23-year old 1B Matt Ratican, 26-year old LF Tim Hardman, a 9th round draft pick, and a 10th round draft pick being shipped to the Yao Guai and in return the Rad Sox would get 20-year old minor league C Jon-Pad Lock, 20-year old minor league RHP Tim Ark, 23-year old minor league 1B Humpty Certified, and a 7th round draft pick. Roxbury general manager Jonathan Hardone said the two sides were close to a blockbuster trade before agreeing upon a smaller scale transaction. "This is just a bit of housekeeping compared to what we wanted to do," he said. "I won't name names, but the potential deal we were close to making would have certainly grabbed some headlines." A source inside the Roxbury organization said the two sides might not be done dealing, and another transaction could be in the works. This season Ratican has 4 home runs and a .302 batting average. Four Leafs Swap Sumbich to Dwellers for Kluxen: It took some time to iron out the details, but the Four Leafs and Dwellers have agreed to a swap. Vault 81 will get 22-year old RHP Justin Sumbich, 33-year old C Gary Gary Gary, and a 10th round draft pick with Finch Farm receiving 19-year old minor league C Mo Murphy, 18-year old minor league 2B Kirk Kluxen, a 3rd round draft pick, a 5th round draft pick, and a 7th round draft pick in return. In exchange the Witch Hats will receive 24-year old SS Swift Hendrix and a 9th round draft pick. Thus far in 2301 Hendrix is hitting .215 with 10 home runs, 46 RBIs, 36 runs scored and has compiled a .277 OBP. 2301 - Season Pass Report - Aug 3
Season Pass Series Preview The first-ever Season Pass Series is upon us as the Far Harbor Ghoul Whales (46-38, 1st in Vim! League Harbor Division) meet up with the Grape Painted Ghouls (46-38, 2nd in NWL). The seven-game series will feature a 2-3-2 format with the first two games held at King Cola Park at Kiddie Kingdom, the next three at Last Plank Park, and the final two games back at King Cola Park at Kiddie Kingdom. Grape is expected to win the series in five games. The Painted Ghouls are among the hottest teams in the Commonwealth universe. They won their final five games of the regular season to propel themselves into 2nd place before defeating 1st place Orange in the Nuka Series. The Ghoul Whales, aka the Gwhales, outmaneuvered the Dalton Farm Fog Crawlers to win their division by a game. Then, they swept the Fog Division champions, the Brooke's Head Behemoths, to win the first-ever Vim! Series. Because of the experience as a professional league, the Painted Ghouls are expected to have the advantage, though both teams are near in talent. Pitching-wise, Far Harbor may have the advantage in their three-man rotation of Alex Ruder, Keith Lighthouse, and Tanner Kern over Grape's Matty Lamplight, Steven Nebraska, and Robert Stubbs. In the lineup, though, the Painted Ghouls should have the advantage. 1B Ham Porter is one strong player, but Rich Troike, Nick Homebody, and Willy Mazehaze can all generate runs for Grape. The Gwhales are led by Drew Buntrock, but he may be their best bet for a series MVP should Far Harbor win it all.

Season Pass Series Game 6 - Far Harbor 9 at Grape 1 Far Harbor Win to Pull Even With Grape The Far Harbor Ghoul Whales and the Grape Painted Ghouls will take the Season Pass Series to a decisive 7th game. In a must-win situation today, the Ghoul Whales beat the Painted Ghouls 9-1 at King Cola Park at Kiddie Kingdom to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Far Harbor first baseman Adrian Baldwin went 4 for 5 with 4 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Jesse Stiber, the 33-year old catcher , had a direct impact on the outcome. Stiber contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fourth inning to put Far Harbor up, 1-0. Painted Ghouls manager Joel Pocketwatch did not take questions after the game, telling assembled reporters that he would hold a press conference "if and when we win the Vim! Series." The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Sunday, August 11th , 2301. Game 7 - Far Harbor 2 at Grape 3, 10 innings Painted Ghouls Whip Ghoul Whales For Season Pass Association Title The Grape Painted Ghouls celebrated wildly after they eliminated the Far Harbor Ghoul Whales in the Season Pass Association title series by a 3-2 score. "This is a great ending for a great season," the victorious Grape skipper told the reporters in the clubhouse. "Winning the first Season Pass Association title doesn't happen often in a career. This title is to be savored and remembered." During the Nuka World League regular season, the Painted Ghouls compiled a record of 46-38 to finish second in the standings. In the bottom of the 10th, Grape's Ham Porter reached on an error with one out. After Far Harbor reliever Keith Lighthouse intentionally walked Nick Homebody, the Painted Grapes' Elliott Orejel drove a 3-2 pitch into the right centerfield gap for a walk-off win. Orejel finished the game 3 for 5 with two RBI.
