Back from a two week sabbatical and was happy to see where my Rebels were sitting, until I saw a 13 game losing streak to end the month of May. All in all a better showing than I'm used to from the boys at Silver level. Many tourney packs to rip, hopefully get a bit of a windfall.

Thanks for the update. For those who are culling SE cards, I took the plunge and benched my last four: Ichiro and 3/5th of my rotation. And I paid for it... going 8-17 in August (with 2 to play). I don't think I'll be challenging for the -OL crown this season, but I should at least be safe from demotion.

For those on the "no SE" bandwagon, what do you think of FOTF cards? There are a few in reach of FTP (Helton). I was tempted yesterday, but ultimately to decided to exclude them from my theme. I ended up (likely overpaying) for a Willie Wells, hoping some defense up the middle will stop the bleeding.

Good luck with the packs. I'm younger than you, but also grew up playing strat. I learned to play in summer camp in the late 70's, One of the counselors set-up a league, and each kid got a team. I don't remember who I was, but the camper who was the Dodgers quit mid-season and gave me his entire team. I promptly (and in retrospect, unfairly) romped my way to the World Series. Those late-70's Dodgers teams were awesome.

Heading into the final month of OL I206 play, Otonokizaka maintains an almost insurmountable lead. Their magic number is 1, needing only 1 win in their 3-game series with lowly Chicago, or a loss by Asheboro in their 3-games series against Vlora.

Only the Muse have a reasonable expectation of postseason play, while Iron Maiden will be relegated.

Port Ruppert moves into the lead heading into the stretch run. It's a wide open race with a number of teams within striking distance of claiming the crown.


Overall, Annandale, Brooklyn and Waffletown each currently hold their respective division leads; with Port Ruppert, Death Valley and Norwood in a fierce wild card hunt in the NC.

I kept my theme in tact until recently, but it became apparent that the old timey/19th century cards were going to struggle to compete at the Gold tier (think I've had four seasons at Gold and been relegated 3 times )... so I've opened it up to any non-live card including the FOTF additions, since some of those have been reasonably priced in the AH all things considered (nabbed Helton yesterday for 35K)... also picked up Dawson and Larkin... so we'll see how that goes

I agree that the 70's Dodgers were an awesome team, especially 1977 and 1978. Felt that they should have won at least one of those series against the Yankees.

So many great players. Steve Garvey, Davey Lopes, Bill Russell, Ron Cey (The longest infield playing together), Don Sutton, Burt Hooton, Bob Welch and many others.

I've been a baseball fan since I was 5 years old and I used to play strat-o-matic too.

Silver league final standings:

Port Ruppert held off a push from Annandale to claim the OL crown.


Overall, Waffletown will be the lone OL representative from the AC and will be the top seed from that conference. In the NC, Annandale will face off against Death Valley in the LDS; while Port Ruppert will play Brooklyn in the wild card.

I've been having trouble reaching the forums the past two days. Anyone else having the same issue?

Here are the OL Playoff B275 teams:
Ciudad Trujillo Dragones (NC Central Division Champion)
Brooklyn Untouchables (NC Wildcard)
El Dorado Aztecs (AC Wildcard)

The Aztecs had a tough Aug/Sep going 24-30 in that stretch.
The Brooklyn Untouchables are very hot heading into the playoffs with an 8 game winning streak and 22-6 in September.

Annadale remains the lone OL team heading to the LCS as Port Ruppert wins their WC match but falls to the top seed in the LDS; while Waffletown chokes something fierce getting swept by a team they beat 13 of 19 in the regular season (no, I'm not bitter or anything )


heading back in time to v20 to watch a Waffletown team that can actually play (heading to the Perfect tier LCS there)
