Do converted save games pull from the name file, or are their names stored in the save file itself?

That’s a good question. I’m importing an old save now

But as I thought about it, the names should be relatively easy. Import the old .csv into excel, add columns where code is needed and copy the code down, save as .csv, open with notepad and replace the commas with nothing

The real fun looks like it’s going to be the change in the auto color syntax on custom logos if you don’t have your own hats, jerseys, pants

Yes, imported games keep the same names they came with

Unfortunately my hard drive is not big enough to covert my save file right now (just bought 23) so I'm gonna wait for Lee's report on what breaks on heavily modded games

For this dynasty, I edit each name individually instead of relying on the names database for generating my unique names. I remember that there was a version many moons ago that I had a personalized name file. Updated the game without realizing I needed a backup of my personalized name file. Was not happy . . .

Oh wow, that’s a lot of work

I can’t blame you for not wanting to rewrite it. When I thought I lost all of my work, I was figuring I’d just move on rather than out in all that time again

A Terminal Entry, &4.2%.2*@$

I killed it, man. I saw all the dead bodies lying around Magnolia's stage. I chased Esther Ralston across the Commonwealth. I walked to her star, and then blew back in time like Dorothy's tornado. Oh, Esther. The silent queen. I found your lost film, and watched you grow. From Bar Harbor, Maine, to Hollywood, to your demise in Ventura. But, I killed it all, man. Sat in a dark room with a brain-thing. Watched the play come to life.

I watched my fence go up. It was the most excitement I've had in eight months. I tried again. I tried to be creator of worlds. Again and again they came and then I looked into the future and saw what they became. A silver shround rising from a gutter of despair.

I'm slipping through time again. 1923 and 2301 and 2022 and 2077. They're all one. All one. Look at that man in the suit. Fancy and poor and old-fashioned and stepping out of a vehicle. Slip, slip, slip.

Focus. There is baseball. And they are great. Ruth, Murtagh, Jones. Effing Jones, man. Baseball, what do I see? Think, think. No, borrow. Beyond each game, he sees another, and yet another, in endless and hopeless succession. He hits a ground ball to third, is thrown out. Or he beats the throw. What difference, in the terror of eternity, does it make? He stares at the sky, beyond which is more sky, overwhelming in its enormity.

Where is Long Lew when you need him? Crawl out through the fallout, baby. That first light outside the vault. So bright before the radstorm comes. Walk, walk through the Mall. Walk, walk through the neons. Walk, walk through the Freedom Trail. See the light dark as night.

The shadow man comes and then he goes. His second coming was not a surprise. We cannot live if we fear what comes next. The void. The limbo. A hole in the unisphere. What is this lair of lesser gods I see? Nothing more than creativity?

There is a person I am looking at looking at me with technology from a place I have never seen. He watches a screen and they talk about him while he types. I have come to the wrong place. Turn and turn and turn and see the divergence.

Play it all again. That place where Damon lives and Ty is cancelled. Babe never picks up wood. Gilda is caught in a Corvega fire. The matryoska at work.

Peel, peel. My mind is bursting. Cast low in bland composition. Think, think. See them call your name. One of the 16. Baseball. It is all. Where am I in time right now. That I cannot tell, for the bell tolls many and the time shows plenty. Create, create. And the black clouds break up, and dew springs again to the green grass, and the stands hang on, and his own oppressed heart leaps alive to give it one last try.

Carry, carry. Carry on.

October 2301 - BNN Weekly Report - October 28

The Facebook button feature is not currently working, so I will shorten OOTP-generated stories for now.

BNN Weekly Report

This Week in the CBO, BMU, and GBRL

by Nat Wright-Kawolski

28 October 2301

News Galore as We Approach the CBO Draft

News of Note

18 October - Sunshine-Oberland Trade: The Oberland T-51s sent CF Ricky Ticky Laughy, RF B.J. Perez, and three draft picks (3rd, 5th, and 6th) to the Sunshine Tidings in exchange for two draft picks (1st and 7th).

19 October - UP Sends Prospects to Acadia: The University Point Deathclaws sent two prospects--2B Whear Flynn and CF Kyle Quickfingers--to the Acadia Acadians (VimL) for 29-year-old pitcher Justin Mire. Mire was 8-6 with a 3,57 ERA in 21 starts for the Acadians in 2301. He was also Acadia's 1st-round pick in the Vim! League Inaugural Draft in 2300.

23 October - Diamond City's Grognak Removed from HCU Set: Diamond City Swatters Mike Grognak was removed from a bit role he was playing in the HCU's filming of the second season of the Grognak the Barbarian series. DC's Grognak kept repeatedly kept answering, "What?" and "I'm Grognak!" when the antagonist Grelok (played by Kip Mackburger) yelled at the character Grognak the Barbarian (played by Quentin Filmore). HCU representatives said that they would consider using the Swatters' Grognak in a different series that does not involve Grognak the Barbarian.

24 October - Finch Farm's Finch to Give Team to Son: Finch Farm owner Abraham Finch announced today that he would start the process of giving away his property to his sons so that he could bask in the greenlight. Abraham Finch plans to split his properties to each of his two sons. The older Daniel Finch will take over ownership of the Finch family's farm, while the younger Jake Finch will take control of the CBO's Four Leafs team. They did not announce the exact date of the switch over, but it is expected that official paperwork may be filed with the league by January 1.

26 October - Hayjen Injured: CBO Most Valuable Player for 2301, Vault 81's Aesed Hayjen was injured today in an undisclosed accident. He could miss up to six months with a nerve injury in his neck. Team trainer Sam Monahan said that owner, Dr. Jacob Forsythe will consider surgery if it can prepare Hayjen to play in the 2302 season.

28 October - New Train Lines Nearer to Completion: The Commonwealth Transit Commission (CTC) announced today that the expected completion of train rails between Oberland and Egret is expected to be completed by late 2302. CTC Commissioner Davis Choochoo stated that there would be limited back-and-forth rail runs in which they would like to have trial passenger runs as early as September of next year. Currently, the trains run from Bedford Station to Oberland Station, which has reduced creature injuries by 200%. With the addition of the new stations opening, most of the Commonwealth would be acessible through planned city busses.

All this transit and stuff makes me wonder if anyone's done one of those "fake transit maps" for Fallout 4, though I suppose it'd just be Boston's transit map I know there's a pretty nice one someone did if Skyrim had a subway though.

If I had better art skills I'd offer to whip up some things for you. Sadly, my brother is the graphic designer, and he absolutely got all the art skills in the family while I got things like math

It's OK. I'll work with that I've got. We do have the train line on the game map. The subways are a different story, so I am putting those off for now***. For now, the train stations will have bus lines, with some of the roads still blocked from travel. So, there is still some foot travel necessary, too.

I did find the below map as part of a mod. I added a 5-year timeline before some of the MTA subway stations are cleared and running. Some of the map correlates with the game's MTA stations: https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/MTA

November 2301 - BNN Weekly Report - November 6

BNN Weekly Report

This Week in the CBO, BMU, and GBRL

by Nat Wright-Kawolski

6 November 2301

31 October - Danse Retires: The CBO announced today that LF Paladin Danse has decided to walk away from the game. One of many who helped to found the CBO, Danse, a synth, decided to take an experimental treatment that would allow him to age at the same rate as a non-synth. Now considered to be approximately 35 years old by human age, Danse is starting to feel the effects of that aging.

"Time was never an issue before," Danse said heading into the 2301 season. "Now it is."

After being traded from his original team, Egret, to The Slog and then to Salem during the 2301 season, Danse has seen the graffiti on the rusted traincar.

Danse was the CBO's Most Valuable Player in 2296, the CBO's inaugural season. That season, he finished with a .416 batting average (102 for 245) in 60 games with 22 home runs and 76 RBI.

For his career, Danse finishes with a .325 average, 640 hits, 160 doubles, 6 triples, 137 home runs, 407 runs, 462 RBI, and a 18.9 WAR. By official CBO records (2298-present), Danse is tied for 8th all-time in home runs with 97 and tied for 10th with 325.

The Egret Ninjas have decided to retire Danse's #2 in honor of his contributions to the founding of the league.

5 November - Draft Results: The 2301 CBO Rookie Draft is complete, with the Warwick Mirelurks selecting 2B Diamond Ball out of the Boston Youth Development League star of the Jamaica-U Point Death Rocket's Diamond Ball as the #1 overall pick. The Oberland T-51s followed with SS Cope Kearns out of the BYDL's Beerthirty Slappers.

Rounding out the Top 5 included Finch Farm's Exxie Summerset (BYDL - South Beach), Roxbury's C Sleve McDichael (CCL - Chatham Lighthouse), and Lexington's SS Steve V-Rock (BYDL - South Beach).

Complete draft below:

November 2301 - BNN Weekly Report - November 7

BNN Weekly Report

This Week in the CBO, BMU, and GBRL

by Nat Wright-Kawolski

7 November 2301

Draft Analysis

Top 5 Overall

1-1 Warwick Mirelurks – 2B Diamond Ball of Jamaica-UPoint (BYDL)
Analysis: Elite pure hitter. Bound to hit for average every year. Likely to be a Triple Crown candidate. Not going to strike out much nor swing at bad pitches. Almost has a sixth sense for hitting. Defense could use some work, but could slip well into the 2B slot and only help his team.
Personality: Ball can become complacent and lacks the determination to make most of his tools. Seems to be desire away from being the top player in baseball. His name is no accident, but he may have had his name changed without his own consent. Not crazy about the game.

1-2 Oberland T-51s – SS Cope Kearns of Beerthirty (BYDL)
Analysis: Has the tools to be a top hitter in both average and power, though a hair below Ball. By far the 2nd overall pick in the draft. Has speed on the base paths as well as good range in the infield. Could be a decent player at pretty much any position but typically projected at SS. Will not be the best SS but also not the worst.
Personality: Curious and asks a lot of questions. Looks for his first and then considers others.

1-3 Finch Farm Four Leafs – SP Exxie Summerset of South Beach (BYDL)
Analysis: Has a lot of speed on his pitches with decent movement and a great off-speed circle change. Has a good slider, too, but hardly used it in the BYDL. Needs to develop more of a repertoire of pitches instead of relying on his two best pitches. Some question if he is ace potential.
Personality: Labeled as a troublemaker after an incident in his home settlement of Oberland. Parents ended up moving to South Boston after his incident. Is low-key; not much of a chatter. Does not hang around teammates. Does not seem to belong anywhere so willing to move on.

1-4 Roxbury Rad Sox – C Sleve McDichael of Chatham (CCYL)
Analysis: All offense, little defense. May later project at 1B or 3B since he has a strong arm. Will use minors to find his spot on the field. What is not a doubt is his place in the lineup: the middle. He is a boom or bust home run hitter, but he will not strike out a lot. However, he will sometimes swing and make contact with balls out of his zone, leading to lots of easy pop ups. Should have had better numbers in the CCYL as its premier player in 2301.
Personality: A hard one to track. Seems almost like a creation of a video game in his approach to everything. Forms tentative opinions and reserves judgment.

1-5 Lexington Synths – SS Steve V-Rock of South Beach (BYDL)
Analysis: Straight up fast ball hitter, but will punish them in the strikezone. Not as successful as an off-speed hitter, so needs to make that his focal point in the GBRL. Will not be a power hitter, but could be in the top 3 for his team each year depending on where he bats in the lineup. Best strength may be defense where he may not be a Corvega Top Defender, but he will likely be in the top half of defensive shortstops.
Personality: Intelligent players with lots of charisma. Will stand up for his teammates. Not always adaptable. Can be coached but prefers his comfort zones.

Other Players to Watch

1-15 - Fort Hagen Silver Shroud - LF Abell 11-98 of South Charles Bank (BYDL)
Analysis: May be a wait for his pitch and then jack it over the fence player. May not be the best defender but can earn his way on the field better by working on his field awareness in the outfield. Should he improve his defense, he could make himself worthy of playing at the CBO level as a regular one day.

1-17 - County Crossing Bloodbugs - SP Jason Costcaps of Andrew Station (BYDL)
Analysis: The biggest WTUQ? of the draft, Costcaps had a 6.37 ERA his last two seasons with the Southies. He has a good fastball and a decent curveball. He can occasionally throw a changeup that is not terrible. But what does he bring to a team that is now competing for a Sole Survivor Series? What will he ever bring? Scout Jim Peil may need to answer for this one!

2-42 - Jamaica Plain Red Rockets - 3B Hazmatt Zuniga of Beantown (BYDL)
Analysis: Currently injured, the Red Rockets may have the steal of the 2nd round. Zuniga is projected to be a patient hitter who will tear the cover off the ball, fly out, or walk. He does not swing at pitches he doesn't like nor ones out of the zone. Zuniga is definitely worth watching.

3-63 - Fort Hagen Silver Shroud - RF Judas Stoner of Thompson Heights (BYDL)
Analysis: Outside of the player listed below, may be the best value in the 3rd round. Seems to be a hard-working player, so that could be a boost for him. Will need to work hard on earning a defensive spot on the field. Otherwise, could be a top home run hitter in the league one day.

3-66 - Jamaica Plain Red Rockets - 3B Tim Connecticut of Hester (BYDL)
Analysis: Again, the Red Rockets may have had the steal of the round since some projected Connecticut as high as the end of the 1st round. One of the best hitter's eyes in the draft, Connecticut will make the pitcher throw his something good and then has a chance to punish that pitcher. Amazingly, though, may be more of a boom or bust hitter. Should work more on contact to avoid rewarding pitchers' mistakes. May move to the other corner of the infield with the GBRL's Outpost Zimonja team since Zuniga may get the call at 3B.

4-84 - Easy Town Assaultrons - 2B Matt Hicks of South Charles Bank (BYDL)
Analysis: Only came on as a player in his senior season but has shown some potential to be a CBO player in his future. Coaching staff will need to keep him focused, but he can turn out to be a middle-of-the-lineup 2B. Has the potential to hit for power and draw lots of walks.

4-96 - Nordhagen Beach Party Boys - 1B Cory Bacheller of Hester (BYDL)
Analysis: The first Party Boys' pick due to the Beachboy Nut trade. Interesting prospect. Never started a game with the Mechanists but has flashes of developing into a good hitter with power. He will need to work on recognizing pitches and avoiding strikeouts. Party Boys hope he will be more Dustin Mart and less Tommy Talkington.

5-100 - Roxbury Rad Sox - LF Jaime Boozer of Beerthirty (BYDL)
Analysis: An interesting prospect for the Rad Sox. Boozer may be the type of player that can work his way up beyond his draft pick. Rangy outfielder but not quite a CF prospect, though he could play there in a pinch. May be able to work his way into the CBO as a scrappy player pretty good at everything but great at nothing.

10-240 - Nordhagen Beach Party Boys - 3B Legend Jurenka of Brown U (PCPL)
Analysis: Not expected to be drafted since he first picked up a bat less than a year ago. Did not hit well, but has a frame that looks like he can become a man. Has nothing to show with a glove compared to peers since that is not a natural instinct. Will need to be a hard worker to ever make it past Walden Pond. Probably looking at a career minor league position in the Season Pass Association.

Even though I don't really care for Danse, still sad to see him go (though I'm sure you have more planned for him). I'll just take the opportunity to, as usual, call for more Synths.

As of right now, nothing special. I rolled him as a coach, but he said no. Maybe he will move into the front office. Maybe he will take Nate Howard's job one day.

2301 Season Pass Association Draft

Forgive the HS names. I am planning to run that out of the league for the 2302 draft.

SPA Draft Goes Heavy Travel Ball Players

Bradberton - The 2301 Season Pass Association conducted its first draft of a combination of the Nuka World League and Vim! League, and the big story is that seven of the 18 1st-round picks were not players in any of the Season Pass Association's youth leagues.

NWL founder John-Caleb Bradberton felt it was important to add more talent to the pool, but the 2302 season would switch to 100% associated youth leagues.

"It brings in too much money not to," Bradberton said.

Leading the way for the 2301 draft was the Quartz Star Force (NWL) selecting independent player IF Mike Redd. Redd supposedly impressed Star Force GM Justin Hurst and MGR Nerd Amaya. Redd looks to be a power-hitting infielder who will probably settle at 3B or 1B due to his limited range. He could be a middle-of-the-lineup option who draws walks and hits his fair share of homers.

With the second pick, the Cherry Ghoulrillas (NWL) selected SS Sugar Bomb Mendez formerly of the Safari Adventure Gazelles of the Amusement Park League. Mendez is considered to be a good shortstop capable of working his way onto the field because of his glove. He can be a good all-around hitter with good speed on the bases, but he will need to clean up his overall skills before he will advance at the next level.

The Eden Meadows Anglers (VimL) picked third and went with C Jeff Platelunch also of the Gazelles. Platelunch may make a switch in the Vim League to 1B. He had OK numbers with Safari Adventure but will need development. He is considered a high-character player and can help his coaches in getting fellow teammates on board.

The Season Pass Association is not at the same talent level as the CBO, so some of the top prospects are difficult to predict. Teams in the Season Pass Association do work with the CBO's scouting group, the OSA. Typically, those players are scouted in respect to CBO players, so it is difficult to interpret their reports in respect to the SPA leagues.

For example, the best player in the NWL, SP John Diner, would not be considered a sure starter in the CBO in 2301 according to OSA scouts even though he won 10 or more games three times for the CBO's Warwick Mirelurks.

The complete SPA draft is listed below.
