Topps Folder Project Marches On: several Orioles need IDs
We have whittled two mega-files' IDs to a managable level, but have hit a wall with our resources. Now, we turn to you (again). Here are five Orioles from various Folders, with numbers.
Below is Folder BC735 Below is Folder BC1070 (we have ID'd over 2,000 images here!) Below is another from megafile BC1542 (good-lookin' guy!): Below from a near-finished Folder BK975 Finally, below is from Folder CA, CA670 Thanks to all! Last edited by rico43; 07-24-2015 at 03:12 AM. |

Jerry Stephenson - L.A. Dodgers
My guess is Topps never got Jerry during his short 2 game stay with the Pilots, but I think we've also been waiting for some good TV shots of Jerry's 3 game stint with the Dodgers. Wait no longer.

Randy Sterling 1974
Made two starts and one relief performance for the Mets, after being the team's first pick (and number four overall) in the 1969 draft.

Ray Busse
Hi,
Would anybody have the proper pronunciation of Ray Busse of the Astros and Cardinals fame in this format...Tom Shopay-sho--PAY. Thanks, BRobby05 |

Gary Busey
Thanks for the help. I checked Baseball Reference for Busey and I couldn't find him.
Thanks, BRobby05 |

A little photoshop magic please
Working on a folder I'd never opened before (BJ), I came upon this terrific photo of Sandy Koufax, circa 1965 maybe. But it is obviously a little faded, washed out ... something. Can you guys versed in photoshop bring this thing to life?

Sorry about that...I never heard of him. As far as TV goes, I know Eddie Albert Buddy Ebsen, Pat Buttran, Bob Crane, Don Adams, etc. Now if you would have said the bass guitar player for the Blue Ridge Quartet (southern gospel) 1971-72 & 1975-77, Blaine Bucy, then I would have known...HA.
Seriously I got the pronunciation off of youtube. I know I had it (Busse) in something but I couldn't remember where it was again...brain surgery has it drawbacks. Thanks, BRobby05 Last edited by brobby05; 07-27-2015 at 06:31 AM. |

Busse as Cardinal follow up request
Seems like the proper time to ask if anyone has come across any new color pics of him as a Cardinal? I know, I know...."That'll Be The Day"

Ray Busse 1971
No idea if this constitutes "new" or not, but here's Busse:
This appears to have been taken in Spring Training, 1973, and sold on eBay by KyleSportsCards: Last edited by Merkle923; 08-01-2017 at 11:21 PM. |

Dave Orr 1883
Here's one of the unsung stars of the 19th Century, a first baseman who managed to play for four different New York teams until his career was shortened by some kind of unexplained paralysis in 1890.
In seven full seasons his OPS was .890 or better and his career OPS+ was 162 (202 in the 1885 season). Orr is depicted on his 1886-87 Kalamazoo Bats cigarettes card, only one copy of which is known (and it is in the British Museum of all places). If you happen to have a second copy.... ;-) Last edited by Merkle923; 08-01-2017 at 11:22 PM. |

Jim Roseman 1882
Here's one of Orr's teammates, outfielder Jim "Chief" Roseman, also on a Kalamazoo Bat card, also the only one known, also in the British Museum, also if you happen to have one...
Roseman's seven year career was pretty nondescript, though he went 3-for-9 for the New York Mets in the first World Series in 1884 - which is very impressive given that Old Hoss Radbourn surrendered only eleven hits and three unearned runs in the entire series.
