September 17th-September 23rd
September 17th, 2024: We opened the home series against the Nationals with Mike Soroka (8-5, 4.82 ERA, 1.32 WHIP) taking on Jay Groome (7-7, 4.14 ERA, 1.23 WHIP). We scored 4 in the 7th to win the opener 8-3.
Soroka went 6 with 6 hits, 3 runs, 2 walks, and 6 strikeouts. Garrett McDaniels got a hold in 1.2 innings with a hit, walk, and 3 strikeouts. Shoehi Ohtani was 2-for-4 with a double, homer, 2 runs, and 3 RBI's. Mickey Moniak was 2-for-5 with a double and run scored. Seth Beer was 1-for-2 with a double, run scored, and RBI. Thomas Dillard was 2-for-3 with a run scored, 2 RBI's, and a sac fly. Lazaro Armenteros was 1-for-2 with 3 runs scored, a double, and 2 walks. Max Marusak was 1-for-4 with an RBI and his first big league hit in his first career start. Brewers' SP Bobby Nicholson tossed a 3-hit shutout in a 5-0 win over the Reds. September 18th, 2024: The Minnesota Twins clinched the AL Central today. At 90-57, they will return to the playoffs for the third straight year. We looked to take the series a day early with Walker Buehler (6-8, 4.42 ERA, 1.41 WHIP) taking on Erling Moreno (5-5, 3.97 ERA, 1.27 WHIP). They evened it up with a 4-3 win off a bases loaded walk by Jorge Moya. Buehler allowed 3 in 4.1 off 6 hits and 6 strikeouts. Moya allowed an unearned run in the 9th with a hit and 2 walks. Ohtani made the error in the 9th. Mickey Moniak was 2-for-4 with 2 RBI's. Seth Beer was 1-for-4 with a double and run scored. Nick Gordon was 1-for-3 with a run scored and a walk. September 19th, 2024: The San Francisco Giants have been eliminated from postseason contention. At 66-81, they trail LA by 15 games. They haven't made the playoffs since 2016. We looked to win the rubber match with A.J. Puckett (8-6, 4.14 ERA, 1.21 WHIP) taking on Breiling Eusebio (5-5, 4.60 ERA, 1.32 WHIP). We got 4 in the 7th to take the finale 5-1. Puck tossed a great game, 5.2 innings with 4 hits, a run, 2 walks, and 2 strikeouts. Michael Feliz got the win, 1.1 innings with a hit and 2 strikeouts. Alpha Quivers finished the final 2 innings with a strikeout. Puck was 1-for-2 with a double. Lazaro Armenteros was 2-for-4 with a run scored. Mickey Moniak was 1-for-3 with a run scored, RBI, and walk. Vlad Jr. was 1-for-3 with a sacrafice fly. Nick Gordon was 2-for-4 with a run scored and driven in. Rockies LF Sean Foote went 5-for-5 in a 5-4 win over the Padres. Tomorrow is a day off. September 20th, 2024: I purchased the contract of P/1B J.P. Gates from AA Jacksnoville. The former 2018 2nd Rounder got the call because I didn't want him to file for minor league free agency. Here's what I wrote about him when I drafted him: "2nd Round, 70th Overall: SP J.P. Gates (3) Said he'd sign for slot too. With no SP in the minors worth much, he's got a lot of promise. His fall back is 1B, but he's got great stuff and control, and is a real draftee." Well, he's not that guy, now just a 1.5 potential, but he's got four nice pitches and can be a decent longman who can eat a few innings in the pen. Atlanta C Chi-Seong Pak was 5-for-5 in a 10-8 win loss to the Phillies. We're 1.5 games out of first, but have a 2.5 game lead over Atlanta and Washington for the 1st Wild Card. The Padres would come to town, and send Chris Rodriguez (10-11, 3.61 ERA), Zach Lovvorn (5-12, 3.77 ERA), and MacKenzie Gore (5-12, 3.77 ERA) to the mound. The defending champs are just 77-73, and probably won't make the playoffs. September 21st, 2024: We opened the series with the Padres in front of a crowded Marlins Park as every game means so much more with the season winding down. Jordan Montgomery (!0-7, 3.09 ERA, 1.12 WHIP) battled Chris Rodriguez (10-11, 3.61 ERA, 1.17 WHIP) who not only shut us out earlier this year, but in the playoffs last year. The Padres bested us in the opener 6-2. Montgomery allowed 6 (4 earned) in 5.1 innings with 4 hits, 2 walks, and 4 strikeouts. The rest of the pen combined for 3.2 innings with a hit and 5 strikeouts. Scott Kingery was 2-for-3 with a double and run scored. Adam Haseley was 1-for-4 with a RBI triple. Seth Beer was 2-for-4 with a run scored. September 22nd, 2024: We looked to get back on track with Jake Florence (12-8, 3.76 ERA, 1.37 WHIP) taking on Zack Lovvorn (9-11, 4.14 ERA, 1.22 WHIP). We scored 5 in the 6th to even the series with an 8-2 win. Florence went 6 and allowed 3 hits, 2 runs, 2 walks, and he struck out 6. Aplha Quivers, Chasen Shreve, and Ernesto Estrella got holds before we took the big leads. Thomas Dillard was 1-for-3 with 2 runs, 2 RBIs, a hit by pitch, and a homer. Lazarito was 1-for-4 with a 3-run homer in the 8th. Seth Beer was 2-for-3 with a walk, double, 2 runs scored, and an RBI. Shoehi Ohtani was 1-for-4 with a double, run scored, and RBI. Noah Syndergaard tossed a no-hitter in a 2-0 win over the Nationals. Washington is now not in position to make the playoffs, and 6 games out of first. September 23rd, 2024: I activated Ben Heller from the DL, and recalled Josh Weske from AAA after the Baby Cakes won their second consecutive title. Weske, the former 12th Overall pick, will be set to make his debut. Here's what I wrote about him: "1st Round, 12th Overall: SP Josh Weske (4.5): The 18-year-old demanded just $1.1 million for a bonus and he easily projects to be a front of the rotation starter. Is stuff is nasty, and his change up is extremely nasty and he can put it where he wants it. He's extremely durable, and the lefty will be one of the best in the league." He's a star potential lower, so one of the best in the league might be a stretch, but Weske looks like a future #2 for sure. His fastball is overpowering and his cutter has nice movement. He keeps the ball on the ground, and can pitch alot of innings. He's also kept his durability. White Sox RHP Zack Burdi has announced that after tearning his rotator cuff, his career is over. Injuries have hurt him a lot, and his career line consists of a 5.22 ERA, 1.47 WHIP, 393 strikeouts, and 164 walks in 362.1 innings. We're up to 6th in the Power Rankings. We looked to take the series with Walker Buehler (6-8, 4.50 ERA, 1.41 WHIP) taking on MacKenzie Gore (5-12, 3.77 ERA, 1.16 WHIP). We lost the slugfest 11-9 and had to use a ton of pitchers. Buehler went 5 innings, allowing 3 runs and 4 hits with a walk and 7 strikeouts. Micahel Feliz couldn't get an out, and allowed 3 runs and 2 hits with 2 walks. Ben Heller went 0.1 innings wtih a run, walk, and strikeout. Ernesto Estreaa and Yasukazu Shiotani couldn't get outs either, a hit and run a peice. Shoehi Ohtani allowed 2 (1 earned) in 0.2 innings with 2 walks and 2 strikeotus Thomas Dillard was 3-for-4 with a solo homer, steal, double, and a walk. Lazaro Armenteros was 1-for-5 with a 2 run homer, although he did strikeout all 4 other times. Deshawn Hardamon was 2-for-5 with 2 doubles and 2 runs scored. Vlad Jr. was 2-for-5 with a walk, double, 2 runs, and 2 RBI's. Brendan Rodgers was 2-for-4 with a run scored, RBI, walk, and steal. Cole Roederer was 3-for-5. Arizona's Jhoan Duran tossed a 3-hit shutout in a 5-0 win over the Rockies. With just 10 games left, we sit 3 games out of first, and have a 2 game lead over the Braves. We're off to New York to face Michael Wacha (7-9, 4.21 ERA), Chris Sale (10-4, 4.15 ERA), and Rafael Montero (8-5, 3.05 ERA) in a crucial series that could change the landscape of the NL postseason. |

Septemebr 24th-September 29th
Septemebr 24th, 2024: We opened the huge series at Citi Field with Mike Soroka (9-5, 4.81 ERA, 1.32 WHIP) taking on Michael Wacha (7-9, 4.21 ERA, 1.13 WHIP). It was a close one, but we edged them 5-4.
Soroka went 5 innings with 6 hits, a run, 2 walks, and 2 strikeouts. Ben Heller has had a rough start since returning from the DL, allowing 2 runs with a hit and a walk. Michael Feliz, J.P. Gates, Patrick Raby, and Alpha Quivers got holds, and Jorge Moya got the save. It was Gates' debut, and he tossed 0.2 innings with a strikeout. Raby allowed a run in 0.1 innings with 2 hits. Carlos Soler was 2-for-4 with a 2 run homer. Mickey Moniak was 2-for-4 with a double, triple, walk, and RBI. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was 1-for-5 with a double and run scored. Juan Ramirez was 2-for-5 with a run scored. Mike Smedley was 5-for-5 as his Angels still loss 6-3 to the Astros. September 24th, 2024: Dodgers SP Ryan Zeferjahn tore his ulnar collateral ligament and will miss the rest of this year and most of next year. He was selected 40th Overall back in 2019, and started 15 games this year. He's 1-3 with a 3.39 ERA and 1.14 WHIP with 60 strikeouts in 69 innings. A.J. Puckett (8-6, 4.01 ERA, 1.20 WHIP) took on Chris Sale (10-4, 4.15 ERA, 1.14 WHIP) in the second game of the series. They scored 5 in the 8th to edge us 9-7. Mickey Moniak left with an injury... A.J. Puckett went 5 innings with 6 hits, 4 runs, a walk, and 3 strikeouts. Weske made his MLB debut, tossing 2 innings with 2 hits, a walk, and 4 strikeouts. Jorge Moya allowed 3 runs in 0.2 innings with a hit, 2 walks, and 2 strikeouts. Chasen Shreve finished the 8th and allowed 2 more with 3 hits. Seth Beer was 3-for-3 with a solo homer, 2 doubles, and 3 total runs scored. Nick Gordon was 2-for-5 with a solo homer. Shoehi Ohtani was 1-for-4 with a 2 run homer and a hit by pitch. Vlad Jr. was 1-for-3 with a sac-fly, run scored, walk, and 2 RBI's. September 26th, 2024: Luckily, Moniak's injury is minor and he'll be able to play today without worrying about risking re-injury. We looked to win the series with Jordan Montgomery (10-8, 3.22 ERA, 1.12 WHIP) taking on Rafael Montero (8-5, 3.05 ERA, 1.26 WHIP). Moniak was given the day off, however, to get extra rest. We tried really hard to lose, but escaped with a 5-3 win. Montgomery was great, 7 innings with 4 hits, 2 runs, 2 walks, and 3 strikeouts, although most of the damage was done in the 8th inning, where he couldn't get an out. Josh Weske earned his 2nd hold in as many days, tossing an inning. Jorge Moya allowed a hit, run, and walk, before Ernesto Estrella earned the save. Thomas Dillard was 2-for-5 with a homer, double, 2 runs, and 2 RBI's. Juan Ramirez was 2-for-2 with 2 walks, 2 runs, and a two-bagger. He also got a steal. Brendan Rodgers was 2-for-4 with a 2 run double. Nick Gordon was 2-for-4 with an RBI. We're off to St. Louis to face the 4th Place Cardinals who are just 69-87. We'll see Lenny Torres (8-6, 3.49 ERA), Chris Archer (8-12, 5.02 ERA), and Tyler Beede (7-14, 5.47 ERA) in our last road series of the year. September 27th, 2024: The Houston Astros have been eliminated from the playoffs. At 80-76, they are 9 out of first. This is the first year they've missed the playoffs since 2016. The Dodgers are back in the postseason, and have clinched the West. At 89-68, they hold a 6.5 game lead over the Padres. I transefered Jaheim Meggett to the 60-Day DL to purchase the contract of former 13th Rounder Gunnar Hoglund to prevent him from becoming a minor league free agent. The former 13th Rounder from 2018 is rated a 2.5 potential. Here's what I wrote about him: "13th Round, 399th Overall: SP Gunnar Hoglund (2.5) He will stay a starter, and has great stuff as well. Sent to GCL." Wish I expanded a little more... He's split time between the rotation and the pen this year, with most of the time in New Orleans. He was 5-2 with a 4.64 ERA and 1.38 WHIP in 22 games (7 starts). He's got a really nice fastball, a solid curve and slider, and an average change. He can also play a little corner infield. We started the series in St. Louis with Jake Florence (13-8, 3.74 ERA, 1.35 WHIP) taking on Lenny Torres (8-6, 3.49 ERA, 1.00 WHIP). The Cardinals lineup doesn't have a single player with an overall over three stars, but they managed to beat us 5-2. Garrett McDaniels left with a finger blister. Florence allowed 5 runs in 2 innings with 4 hits and 4 walks. The rest of the pen pitched 7 innings with 3 hits, 3 walks, and 5 strikeouts. Alpha Quivers tossed 2.2 perfect innings with 3 strikeouts. Shoehi Ohtani was 1-for-3 with a walk and solo hoemr. Brendan Rodgers was 2-for-4. Lazaro Armenteros was 2-for-3 with an RBI. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was 2-for-4 with a run scored. September 28th, 2024: Lot's of playoff updtaes: The Mariners, Reds, and Mets are all in the playoffs. We looked to even the series up with Walker Buehler (6-8, 4.54 ERA, 1.39 WHIP) taking on Chris Archer (8-12, 5.02 ERA, 1.20 WHIP). We got three in the 10th to take the middle game 6-3. Buehler went just 5, with 4 hits, 2 runs, 3 walks, and 7 strikeouts. Yasukazu Shiotani allowed a homer to the only hitter he faced. Michael Feliz got the win and Ben Popkin earned the save. Seth Beer was 2-for-5 with a homer, double, 2 runs, and 2 RBI's. Thomas Dillard was 2-for-4 with 2 doubles, a run, and RBI. Vlad Jr. was 2-for-5 with a double, run scored, and RBI. Seth Beer was 2-for-5 with a double, 2 runs, and 2 RBI's. Shoehi Ohtani was 1-for-4 with a double, runu scored, RBI, and a walk. September 29th, 2024: The Rangers clinched the playoffs, and trail Seattle by 1.5 games. At 89-68, it'll be their second straight year with a postseason appearence. We looked to win the series with Mike Soroka (10-5, 4.68 ERA, 1.33 WHIP) taking on Tyler Beede (7-14, 5.47 ERA, 1.41 WHIP). We edged them 3-2 to win our 90th game of the year. Ben Heller left the game with an injury. Soroka went 5, allowing 3 hits, 2 runs, a walk, and 7 strikeouts. Heller, Weske, Estrella, Quivers, and Shreve got holds while Jorge Moya earned a save. They combined for 4 innings with a hit, 2 walks, and 5 strikeouts. Vlad Jr. was 3-for-4 with a double, run scored, RBI, steal, and sacrafice fly. Mickey Moniak was 2-for-5 with a run scored and a double. Nick Gordon was 2-for-3 with a walk and steal. Seth Beer was 2-for-5 with an RBI. There's just 4 games left in the season, and we'll host the 78-80 Cubs. We'd see Justin Dunn (10-9, 5.91 ERA), Shane Greene (5-6, 6.75 ERA), Pablo Ochoa (10-11, 4.44 ERA), and Florencio Serrano (3-2, 3.68 ERA). |

September 30th-October 3rd
September 30th, 2024: Ben Heller will be fine, just day-to-day with a sore elbow. He'll have the rest of the regular season off.
I say regular season, because we have clinched a playoff spot! Just 2 out of first, we will at least be a Wild Card. Tampa Bay is also in the postseason, as their 88-70 record is enough to keep playing this year. This will be thier second straight postseason appearence as they look for their first title. The first place Orioles at 89-69 also clinched a playoff spot, their first since 2016. Like most Orioles teams, they have a great offense with absolutely no pitching. This may be the end of Clayton Kershaw's career, as he undergoes elbow ligament reconstruction surgery and will miss all of next season. A hall-of-famer for sure, he's 193-99 in 510 games (449 starts) with a 2.71 ERA, 1.05 WHIP, 2,995 strikeouts, and 704 walks. Minnesota will extend Byron Buxton 7-years for a total of $184,400,000. Now 30, he's a career .250/.316/.442 hitter with 199 homers and 656 RBI's, as well as 216 steals in 234 attempts. We remain 6th in the Power Rankings. Finally, on to the final series of the year, as we host the Cubs in front of a sold out ballpark. Three more sellouts and that will be three straight seasons. A.J. Puckett (8-6, 4.14 ERA, 1.21 WHIP) battles Justin Dunn (10-9, 5.91 ERA, 1.46 WHIP) as we look to try and win our division. We took the opener 6-1, although it should've been a shutout. Puck tossed 7 innings with an unearned run with 4 hits, a walk, and 6 strikeouts. Jorge Moya earned a 2 inning save with 4 strikeouts. Puck also hit a homer in a 1-for-2 with 2 runs scored and a walk. Shoehi Ohtani was 2-for-5 with 2 runs, 2 RBI's, and a homer. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was 3-for-4 with a double, run scored, walk, and RBI. Mickey Moniak was 2-for-4 with a walk, run scored, and steal. October 1st, 2024: Jordan Montgomery (11-8, 3.19 ERA, 1.11 WHIP) took on Pablo Ochoa (10-11, 4.44 ERA, 1.42 WHIP) who was just named Pitcher of the Month for September. The Cubs got the best of us, winning 5-2. Monty went jus 2.1 innings with 4 hits, 3 runs, and a strikeout. Josh Weske allowed 2 unearned runs in 2.2 innings with a walk, hit, and 3 strikeouts. Michael Feliz went 1.2 innings with a hit and 2 strikeouts before Estrella needed 1 pitch to finish the 7th. Garret McDaniels tossed 2 innings with 2 walks and a strikeout. Mickey Moniak was 1-for-2 with a run scored, double, and two walks. Shoehi Ohtani was 2-for-3 with a walk. Brendan Rodgers was 1-for-3 with a walk and run scored. Cody Bellinger hit his 400th career homer as the Tigers beat the Indians 7-4. October 2nd, 2024: The Braves clilnched the Wild Card, so again, three teams from the NL East will make the playoffs. Jake Florence (13-9, 3.97 ERA, 1.39 WHIP) got the start against Shane Greene (5-6, 6.75 ERA, 1.58 WHIP) in a game that would clinch us at least homefield for the Wild Card Game. We dropped another 6-3. Florence went 4, allowing 4 hits, 3 runs, 6 walks, and 4 strikeouts. Weske got the loss, allowing a run in 1.2 innings with 2 hits and 2 strikeouts. Michael Feliz allwoed 1 more in 1.1 innings with 2 hits and a strikeout. Gunnar Hoglund made his debut, 1.1 innings with 2 htis, a run, and 2 strikeouts. Seth Beer was 2-for-4 with a homer, double, 2 runs, and 2 RBI's. Brendan Rodgers was 1-for-4 with a double. Ohtani was 1-for-4 with an RBI. Atlanta won, so now we can tie. We need to win tomorrow... Juan Villasenor tossed a 2-hit shutout as the Mariners beat the Astros 7-0. October 3rd, 2024: Seattle and the Mets have clinched their division. We looked to win game 162 with Walker Buehler (6-8, 4.50 ERA, 1.39 WHIP) taking on Florencio Serrano (3-2, 3.68 ERA, 1.35 WHIP) in front of another sold out crowd. It took 11 innings, before Mickey Moniak hit a walk-off single off former Marlin Marcus Stroman. The pitching allowed just 2 hits. Buehler allowed 1 in 5.2 innings with 2 runs, 5 walks, and 7 strikeouts. Ben Popkin allwoed a hit in 1.1 inning with a walk and 3 strikeouts. Alpha Quivers got the win and pitched 2 innings with 3 strikeouts. Seth Beer was 2-for-5 with 2 doubles and an RBI. Scott Kingery came off the bench and was 2-for-2 with a double. Mickey Moniak was 2-for-6 with a run, RBI, and steal. Nick Gordon was 3-for-5 with a run scored and a steal. Atlanta lost, so we'll host the Wild Card game, and the playoffs are officially set. |

Wild Card Game and Divisional Series
October 5th, 2024: We started the postseason, hosting the Braves in the NL Wild Card game. I really didn't like the matchup, Mike Soroka (11-5, 4.63 ERA, 1.31 WHIP) against Lucas Sims (8-5, 3.62 ERA, 1.09 WHIP). It's shocking considering Sims is on short rest, although I still trust him more then Soroka. I should have had faith in my starter, as we won 3-2.
Soroka must've had an extra incentive in this game, as he could eliminate his former team. He tossed 7 brilliant innings with 4 hits, 2 runs, 4 walks, and 5 strikeouts. Jorge Moya got a 2 inning save in his first postseason appearence. His 84 stamina comes in handy a lot. Thomas Dillard was 2-for-4 with a double and run scored. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was 1-for-4 with a solo homer. Seth Beer was 1-for-4 with an RBI. Lazaro Armenteros was 1-for-2 hitting and on stolen base attempts, with a walk and run scored. October 6th, 2024: The Rangers hosted Tampa in the Wild Card game. The Rangers scored 3 in the 7th after starter Brendan McKay left the game with 6 quality innings, and Texas defeated Tampa 4-3. October 7th, 2024: We arrived in New York for a five game set with the NL East Champion Mets. Jordan Montgomery (11-9, 3.31 ERA, 1.12 WHIP) took on Noah Syndergaard (17-5, 3.15 ERA, 1.03 WHIP). We scored 3 in the 6th en route to a 3-2 series openeing victory. Montgomery went 5 innings with 3 hits, 2 runs, 2 walks, and 4 strikeouts. Ben Heller and Alpha Quivers got holds and Jorge Moya earned another 2 inning save. Heller struck out the side in the 6th. Vlad Jr. was 1-for-4 with a 2 run homer. Thomas Dillard was 1-for-4 with a solo homer. As you can see, all the runs we scored came via the longball. Scott Kingery had a pinch hit doule in the 6th and scored on the Jr. homer. Dillard's homer actually came directly after Vlad's. The Dodgers hosted the Reds in the other NL series. The Dodgers scored early and often and took a 1-0 series lead with a 10-2 win. October 8th, 2024: We looked to take a commanding 2-0 lead with Walker Buehler (6-8, 4.44 ERA, 1.37 WHIP) battling Michael Wacha (7-10, 4.30 ERA, 1.15 WHIP). The Mets got 3 in the first and bounced back for a 6-1 win. Buehler pitched just 1 inning, with 2 hits, 3 runs, a walk, and a strikeout. Michael Feliz tossed 2.1 mop up innings with 2 walks and a strikeout. Ben Popkin allowed a run in 1.1 innings with a hit, 3 walks, and 2 strikeouts. Ernesto Estrella allowed 2 hits, including a 2 run homer, and didn't record an out. We had just 3 hits all game. Lazaro Armenteros was 1-for-3 with an RBI single. He drove in Shoehi Ohtnai, who was also 1-for-3. It took 12 innings in the other NL game, but the Dodgers walked off winners 4-3 with a bases loaded walk. Both AL series started today as well. The Twins hosted the Wild Card Rangers, and walked off them in the 11th 7-6. Keston Hiura hit a walk off single. The Mariners hosted the Orioles, and Janisel Rivera launched 2 homers in a 5-4 win. All four home teams won the series. October 9th, 2024: The Twins took game two as well, winning 6-5 and will head to Arlington with a commanding 2-0 lead. The Orioles evened the series with a 9-1 win over the Mariners. Benni Vogl launched 2 homers. October 10th, 2024: Down 2-0, the Rangers lost SP Devon Peterson for the postseason with a torn back muscle. He was 10-13 with a 5.22 ERA in the regular season. Jake Florence (13-9, 4.04 ERA, 1.41 WHIP) took on Luis Marrero (15-4, 2.81 ERA, 1.17 WHIP) as we hosted game three. Florence is 0-4 with a 7.54 ERA against the Mets this year, so, maybe 5th time's a charm? It was, and we shut them out 4-0, and are 1 game away from another NLCS. Florence almost went the distance, 8.1 innings with a hit, walk, and 7 strikeouts. He had a no-hitter before Robert Hassell singled with 1 out in the 9th. Moya came in, allowed a single, but then got a fly out and strikeout to end the game. Shoehi Ohtani was 2-for-4 with a grand slam off Marrero in the 1st. We are really good at scoring off him early. Vlad Jr. was 1-for-4 with a double and run scored. Brendan Rodgers was 1-for-3 with a double, walk, and run scored. Thomas Dillard walked twice, and was 1-for-2 with a run scored. The Reds bounced back, and scored 11 in a 11-3 win over the Dodgers, as they avoided elimination. Again, all home teams won... October 11th, 2024: We looked to advance to the NLCS, with Mike Soroka (11-5, 4.63 ERA, 1.31: 1-0, 2.57 ERA, 1.14 WHIP) taking on Chris Sale. Sale is 3-0, albeit with a 4.59 ERA, against us this year. Seth Beer absotlutely kills him, 12-for-25 with a homer. It took 14 innings before a run was scored, but Austin Hedges walked it off with a pinch-hit RBI single off Francisco Morales. And just like that, we're a series away from the World Series! Soroka was excellent, although really everyone was who pitched. He went 6.2 innings with 4 hits, a walk, and 6 strikeouts. The rest of the pen pitched 7.1 innings with 6 hits, 3 walks, and 11 strikeouts. Yasukazu Shiotani struck out the side in the 13th. A.J. Puckett allowed 2 hits in the 14th, but got the win. We had only 8 hits, but it doesn't matter when you win. Vlad Jr. was 2-for-6 and scored the winning run. Mickey Moniak was 1-for-5 with a double and hit by pitch. Nick Gorodn was 1-for-4 with a walk and steal. Soroka himself was 1-for-2. We'd face the Dodgers, who scored 4 insurance runs in the 9th to take the finale 9-4. Looking at the AL, Benni Vogl was 5-for-5 as the O's took a 2-1 lead with a 10-2 win over Seattle. The Rangers avoided elimination with a 5-2 win hosting Minnesota to force a game 4. October 12th, 2024: With both games at 2-1, both teams down won. Seattle allowed 2 in the 9th, but walked away with a 6-5 win with help from a run in the 8th and 9th. Texas also allowed a run in the 9th, but avoided eliination with a close 3-2 win. October 13th, 2024: No baseball today... October 14th, 2024: A pair of game fives took place in the AL. Minnesota rallied for 12 runs to take the finale 12-5. They'd face Baltimore, who scored 1 in the 9th to beat the host Mariners 3-2. |

League Championship Series
October 15th, 2024: We opened the series in LA as former Dodger Walker Buehler (6-8, 4.44 ERA, 1.37 WHIP: 0-1, 27.00 ERA, 3.00 WHIP) took on southpaw Robinson Ortiz (7-3, 2.49 ERA, 1.17 WHIP: 0-0, 4.15 ERA, 1.38 WHIP). Both teams have had ample rest entering the matchup. We scored 2 in the 9th off CL Trevor Gott to take the opener 3-2.
Buehler was mich better, 5.2 innings with 5 hits, 2 runs, 2 walks, and 5 strikeouts. The rest of the pen went 3.1 innings with a hit, 2 walks, and 4 strikeouts. Alpha Quivers earned the win, and Jorge Moya got his 3rd save of the postseason. Seth Beer was 1-for-4 with a 2 run homer in the 9th that won us the game. Mickey Moniak was 2-for-4 with 2 runs scored and a steal. Brendan Rodgers and Lazaro Armenteros were both 1-for-4 with a double. October 16th, 2024: We looked to take a commanding 2-0 lead with Jordan Montgomery (11-9, 3.31 ERA, 1.12 WHIP: 1-0, 3.60 ERA, 1.00 WHIP) taking on Song-shi Su (13-7, 3.89 ERA, 1.28 WHIP: 0-0, 1.80 ERA, 1.00 WHIP). Monty has beat the Dodgers, Su has lost to us. The Dodgers got 8 in the 8th to even the series at 1 in a 15-10 slugfest. Montgomery had a rough outing, 1.1 innings with 4 hits, 3 runs, a walk, and a strikeout. A.J. Puckett went 1.2 innings and didn't give up a hit, but walked 4, allowed 2 runs, and got a strikeout. It fell apart in the 8th, where Moya allowed 5 in 0.2 with 4 hits, a walk, and a strikeout and Quivers allowed 2 walks and 2 hits leading to 3 runs before Ben Popkin walked a batter and then got a fly out to end the awful inning. Guerrero was 2-for-5 with a run scored. Mickey Moniak was 2-for-5 with a solo homer and two total runs scored. They both got stolen bases. Seth Beer was 2-for-4 with a walk, solo homer, and two total runs scored. Nick Gordon was 2-for-5 with a 2 run homer. He was pinch hit for by Scott Kingery who doubled. Shoehi Ohtani was 1-for-4 with a three run homer. Lazaro Aremnteros was 1-for-4 with a solo homer. Thomas Dillard was 1-for-4 with a double, walk, 2 runs scored, and an RBI. Gmae 1 of the ALCS had much less scoring, just 1 run in the 1st as the Twins took advantage of home field to win game 1. Joe LaBrie started and tossed 5.2 scorless innings. October 17th, 2024: The Astros needed to make some noise in the postseason, so they extended LF Kyle Tucker to a 4-year, $94.4 million contract. It looks like a nice deal to keep someone of his caliber. The 27-year-old is a career .307/.366/.541 hitter with 175 homers and 559 RBI's since debuting in 2019. Baltimore evened the series with an 8-3 win. Logan Daivson was 2-for-4 with a three run homer and the Orioles scored 7 in the 3rd inning. October 18th, 2024: We started the first of three at homer with Jake Florence (13-9, 4.04 ERA, 1.41 WHIP: 1-0, 0.00 ERA, 0.24 WHIP) taking on C.J. Jorgensen (7-5, 5.76 ERA, 1.28 WHIP: 0-1, 9.64 ERA, 1.29 WHIP). We rallied for 13 runs and took a 2-1 lead in the 13-3 victory. Florence went 5.2 with 5 hits, 2 runs, a walk, and 5 strikeouts. Puck allwoed a run off 2 hits in 0.2 innings. Ben Popkin tossed 2 scorless to finish the game with a hit and strikeout. Seth Beer was 2-for-4 and launched two out of the seats while driving in 4 runs. Shoehi Ohtani was 3-for- with a solo homer, 2 total runs scored, and a steal. Thomas Dillard was 2-for-5 with a solo shot and 2 total runs scored. Vlad Jr. was 2-for-4 with a double, 2 runs scored, walk, and RBI. Nick Gordon was 3-for-4 with 2 runs, 2 RBI's, and 2 steals. Lazaro Armenteros was 2-for-3 with 2 runs and a steal. October 19th, 2024: I really, really, really want to throw the game... I get an email: "Miami's Montgomery Hurt in Accident" Jordan Montgomery tore his labrum, and will miss 10-11 months... "The statement did not indicate how the msihap occurred" OMG OUT OF THE PARK WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY I'M ABOUT TO WIN THE WORLD SERIES!?!!?!? Yes, a littl exaggeration, but this is the worst possible news... He's off to the DL, and I added Garrett McDaniels to the playoff roster. Well, we have to play a game knowing our best starting pitcher may not pitch for 2 years, but that's baseball.. Mike Soroka (11-5, 4.63 ERA, 1.31 WHIP: 1-0, 1.32 ERA, 0.95 WHIP) battled Dennis Santana (8-7, 4.34 ERA, 1.32 WHIP: 0-0, 3.86 ERA, 1.07 WHIP). And to add insult to injury, we lost 4-1 to even the series back up. And why not add a little more injury? Michael Feliz left with an injury and my pitching staff is literally falling apart... Soroka allowed 4 runs in 4.2 innings with 6 hits, a walk, and 3 strikeouts. The rest of the pen tossed 4.1 innings with just a walk and 5 strikeouts. Mickey Moniak was 1-for-4 with a leadoff homer. Lazaro Armenteros was 1-for-3 with a double. Game three of the ALCS went to 10 innings, but the Orioles walked off with a Chance Sisco homer off Aroldis Chapman to take a 2-1 lead with a 4-3 win. October 20th, 2024: Clearly dejected, we needed to win this game to take the 3-2 lead. In a rematch of Game 1, Walker Buehler (6-8, 4.44 ERA, 1.37 WHIP: 0-1, 6.75 ERA, 1.50 WHIP) took on Robinson Ortiz (7-3, 2.49 ERA, 1.17 WHIP: 0-0, 2.53 ERA, 0.75 WHIP) as the winner will head to LA a game away from the World Series. Fortunately, that team would not have home field, as we took the final game at home 7-4. We're 1 game away from the World Series! But also 1 ace away from an elite 4-man rotation... Okay, maybe not elite, but you get the point... Oh yeah, and Sheohi Ohtani left with an injury. It's just groin soreness that he can and will play through. Buehler lasted just 3.1 innings with 3 hits, 3 runs, 3 walks, and 5 strikeouts. Ben Heller tossed 2.2 perfect innings with 3 strikeouts. Yasukazu Shiotani earned the win with a perfect 7th. Jorge Moya allowed a run, 3 walks, a hit, and got a strikeout in the 8th, and got a hold. Alpha Quivers slammed the door in the 9th, K'ing 2 to earn the save. Seth Beer was 3-for-4 with 2 doubles, a homer, a run scored, and 4 RBI's. Mickey Moniak was 2-for-3 with a run scored, 2 RBI's, and a walk. Thomas Dillard was 1-for-4 with a solo homer. Nick Gordon was 2-for-4 with 2 runs scored. Ohtani doubled before suffering his injury. Baltimore is also a game away from the World Series, shutting out the Twins 6-0 and allowing just 2 hits. How funny would it be if we face the Orioles in the Series, the team that could be my next project? October 21st, 2024: Feliz just has back tightness, and will be DTD for 5 days. Up 3-1 at home, the Orioles allowed 20 hits in a 12-5 loss. The series would head back to Minnesota, as both us and the Orioles have 3-2 leads. October 22nd, 2024: We need just 1 win in 2 games to make my first World Series. A.J. Puckett (9-6, 3.92 ERA, 1.18 WHIP: 1-0, 6.75 ERA, 2.00 WHIP) had to start in place of Montgomery against Song-shil Su (13-7, 3.89 ERA, 1.28 WHIP: 0-0, 6.43 ERA, 1.29 WHIP). The Dodgers got 2 in the 8th to force Game 7 with a 4-3 win. Puck pitched well, 7 innings with just 3 hits, 2 runs, 3 walks, and 5 strikeouts. Jorge Moya blew the game, allowing a hit, 2 runs, a walk, and a strikeout in what has been a rough postseason for him. Seth Beer was 1-for-4 with a two run homer, his 6th of the postseason. Thomas Dillard was 1-for-4 with a double. Adam Haseley had a pinch hit double in the 8th. Mickey Moniak was 2-for-4 with a run scored and a steal. October 23rd, 2024: It all comes down to today: we could be World Series bound... Game 7 saw Jake Florence (13-9, 4.04 ERA, 1.41 WHIP: 2-0, 1.29 ERA, 0.57 WHIP) and C.J. Jorgensen (7-5, 4.76 ERA, 1.28 WHIP: 0-2, 13.50 ERA, 1.88 WHIP) do battle in a series that no team has won back to back games. Both starters are actually 1st Rounders from the 2020 draft, with Florence #1 and Jorgensen #25. The bats came alive, and we topped the Dodgers 13-8 to advance to the World Series. We did it boys! It was rough for Florence, 1.2 innings with 5 runs, 4 hits, 2 walks, and a strikeout. Ernesto Estrella allowed a run and 4 hits with a walk and strikeout in 2.1 innings. Michael Feliz tossed 2 innings with a hit and strikeout to earn the win. Yasukazu Shiotani and Ben Heller got holds before Alpha Quivers earned a 1.2 inning save. Seth Beer, who was named series MVP, was 3-for-5 with his 7th homer of the postseason, 3 runs, and 3 RBI's. He's hit .400 with 16 RBI's and 10 runs scored in the NLCS. Vlad Jr. was 3-for-5 with 3 doubles, 2 runs, and 2 RBI's. Lazaro Armentos was 2-for-5 with 2 runs and a solo homer. Austin Hedges hit a 2-run homer in the 8th in his only at bat. Thomas Dillard was 3-for-4 with a double, walk, and 2 RBI's. Brendan Rodgers was 3-for-5 with 3 RBI's. Say hello to the "Finals, Baby" Achievement! Corey Seager actually was 5-for-5 in the losing effort. We'd face the Orioles, who edged the Twins 5-4 to take the ALCS in 6 games. |

World Series
October 24th, 2024: We have two off days before the series starts on October 26th. We have a slightly better record, 92-70 compared to 91-71, so we'd host the series. I'd do a quick position by position comparison tomorrow:
October 25th, 2024: Here's my view on how our team stacks up against their's: Catcher: Miami: Thomas Dillard is miles and miles away the best catcher in the league. He has an amazing bat, and while Chance Sisco is no scrub, no one in the league can comepte with Dillard's glove and power combo. First Base: Miami: This one isn't even close, as Seth Beer, even discounting the postseason, is much better then Jake Burger. Burger is a decent hitter, but his average lags behind Beer's, and Beer has much more pop. Burger is the superior defender, but it's not even close offensively. Second Base: Baltmiore: Logan Davidson is probably the best second basemen in the business. It's just his 2nd year, and the former 1st Rounder hit 49 homers and drove in 118 RBI's with a .320/.402/.621 line. Brendan Rodgers is a top 10 second basemen, but he's not on the same level as the younger Davidson. Third Base: Miami: The Orioles have Juan Alfredo Walls, who's more of an average starter then a superstar like Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Walls is an awful defender, and Jr, has great speed and an amazing bat. He hit 39 homers and drove in 106, while Walls, while not terible, had 27 and drove in 87. He's not terrible and just 24, but Vlad is much, much better. Shortstop: Wash: Technically Nick Gordon is rated higher, but it's really close. Johnson is a great defender, has amazing speed, and is just 24, but hasn't hit much at all. His bat is still waiting to develop, and he hit .221/.284/.340 with just 10 homers and 39 RBI's. Gordon hit better, .252/.340/.321 with 5 homers and 49 RBI's, but neither guy is an elite shortstop. *Sidenote: Johnson is injured, so techincally we should win here, as Nick Maldonado/Sheldon Neuse aren't really that good, but Johnson may come back. Left Field: Baltimore: The 22-year-old Mike Verbeck is a future superstar and was great his rookie year, hitting .254/.316/.485 with 29 homers, 88 RBI's, and 28 steals. He's the best defender in the outfield, has blinding speed, and when his bat develops, he's going to be at Mike Trout level. Lazaro Armenteros is also an elite defneder in left and runner, but his bat pails in comparison to the former #2 Overall Pick. Center Field: Baltimore: Mickey Moniak is arguably a top-5 center fielder, combining speed and athleticism with a knack for making contact, but Benni Vogl is from another world. The former 5th Overall Pick hit .302/.388/.672 with 56 homers and 140 RBI's, and should easily win MVP. Just 23, he's also one of the better defensive outfielders, although both him and Moniak have injury problems. Right Field: Miami: I don't know how Oscar Rojas is starting on a pennant winning team, but he should be a 4th outfielder at best. Shoehi Ohtani is much better, boasting amazing power and a cannon in the outfield. He hit 26 homers and drove in 76 while also pitching a bit. Rotation: Miami: Baltimore doesn't have the best rotation, so even with no Montgomery, we're still much better. Baltimore's "Ace" Michael Baumann isn't even better then A.J. Puckett, and Ariel Jurado and Miguel Romero shouldn't even be in a rotaiton, let alone the #3 and #4 in a rotation. Cody Sedlock at 2 isn't much better, althoguh he should be better then he performed. On our side, Walker Buehler should be a true ace, despite his struggles this year. Jake Florence showed flashes of it in the regular season, but lost steam towards the end of the year. Mike Soroka had a rough year, but even a down year for him is better then the whole Orioles rotation. Puck acutally has the best ERA as the forced four, and is a solid back or the rotation arm. Bullpen: Miami: I actually have a really good pen, and the Orioles have nothing. Thier closer Pedro Aruajo would pitch mop up in my pen, and they have only three guys (all 2.5) that are higher then a 2* rating. None of them have ERA's below 4.50 (Ryan Meisinger is exactly 4.50). On our side, no relieer has an ERA over 4.50 (even Ohtani is 4.44) and our pen ranked 3rd in the NL. Moya saved 44 games and had a respectable 3.65 ERA. Setup men Chasen Shreve (2.04) and Alpha Quivers (2.93) are as dependable as it gets in the pen. Yasukazu Shiotani, our lefty specialist, tossed 71 innings with a 1.90 ERA. Michael Feliz, Ernesto Estrella, and Ben Popkin also had seasons. Recap: It looks like we are the better team, and should win this series, but there is a reason we play out these games... Stay tuned for Game 1 of the 2024 World Series tomorrow! October 26th, 2024: Walker Buehler (6-8, 4.44 ERA, 1.37 WHIP: 0-1, 7.20 ERA, 1.60 WHIP) opened the World Series against Michael Baumann (12-6, 4.66 ERA, 1.40 WHIP: 0-1, 4.63 ERA, 1.20 WHIP) and the AL Champion Orioles in a packed and loud Marlins Park. 7 of our 9 lineup positions, according to the game, have the better player on our side. We started this series like we have every postseason series so far, with a win, this time 7-5. Can we end it the same too? Buehler was great, 7 innings with 4 hits, a run, a walk, and 7 strikeouts. Ernesto Estrella allowed 2 runs in the 8th, allowing 4 hits. Michael Feliz allowed a walk before Jorge Moya came in the game. He allowed 3 hits, including a homer, and let Feliz' runner score, but ended up striking out the side. Nick Gordon was 2-for-4 with a grand slam and a triple. Shoehi Ohtani was 2-for-4 with a double and 2 RBI's. Thomas Dillard was 1-for-2 with a double, run sored, and 2 walks. Mickey Moniak was 1-for-5 with an RBI double. October 27th, 2024: We looked to take a commanding 2-0 lead, with Mike Soroka (11-5, 4.63 ERA, 1.31 WHIP: 1-1, 2.95 ERA, 1.09 WHIP) taking on Cody Sedlock (8-8, 5.07 ERA, 1.47 WHIP: 1-2, 3.31 ERA, 1.04 WHIP): Jr. is one of the few players with any at bats against the opposing pitcher, and is an impressive 10-for-20 with 3 homers. It took 11 innings for a run to score, as Logan Davison hit a solo shot off Chasen Shreve. We tied it up in the bottom half with a Vlad Jr. homer off Keegan Akin. Akin was back out for the 12th, and Nick Gordon took him deep to walk us off 2-1 winners. Two. More. Soroka was amazing, 8 innings with 4 hits, 2 walks, and 7 strikeouts. Ernesto Estrella got the win, a perfect 12th with a strikeout. Gordon, the second hero, was 2-for-5 with a double. Vlad Jr. was 1-for-4 with a walk and the game tieing blast. Lazaro Armenteros was 2-for-3 with a walk and steal. October 28th, 2024: We headed to Baltimore, but the Rockies announced they extended RHP Justin Lawrence 3 years, for $3,160,000 per year. The 29-year-old has 102 career saves and had a breakout 2024, going 8-3 with 28 saves, a 2.63 ERA, and 1.11 WHIP. October 29th, 2024: We had a chance to take a 3-0 lead, as Jake Florence (13-9, 4.04 ERA, 1.41 WHIP: 2-0, 4.02 ERA, 0.89 WHIP) looked to bounce back against Miguel Romero (9-6, 4.35 ERA, 1.32 WHIP: 1-0, 1.35 ERA, 1.20 WHIP) at historic Camden Yards. We scored 7 in the 9th, but it wasn't nearly enough to win, as we lost 15-11 as the Orioles managed to get a game back. Mickey Moniak and Lazaro Armenteros both left with injury. Moniak will play through his back tightness, while Armenteros' injury is still pending... Florence allowed 5 in 2 innings with 7 hits, 2 walks, and 2 strikeouts. Ernesto Estrella allowed 3 in 0.2 inings with 3 hits and a walk. Garrett McDaniels allowed 3 runs off 3 hits without getting an out. Three more relievers allowed runs, and the only one not to was Chasen Shreve, who ended the 8th with a 4 pitch strikeout. Deshawn Hardamon was the DH, and went 1-for-4 with 2 runs scored, 3 driven in, a walk, and a homer. Nick Gordon was 3-for-4 with a double and 2 runs scored. Seth Beer was 2-for-4 with a 2 run homer and a walk. Mickey Moniak was 3-for-4 with 2 RBI's and 2 doubles before his injury. Armenteros was 2-for-5 with a 2 run double before his injury. October 30th, 2024: We looked to bounce back with A.J. Puckett (11-8, 4.48 ERA, 1.38 WHIP: 1-0, 4.09 ERA, 1.27 WHIP) facing Ariel Jurado (11-8, 4.48 ERA, 1.38 WHIP: 1-1, 3.09 ERA, 0.94 WHIP) in game four. Adam Haseley played LF and hit 7th for Lazarito. ONE. MORE. GAME. We scored 4 in the 10th to take Game Four 9-5! Puck went 5 innings, allowing 3 runs, a walk, 6 hits, and a strikeout. Ernesto Estrella and Yasukazu Shiotani allowed a run in 0.1 innings. Jorge Moya tossed 2.1 innings with 3 hits and earned hte win. Seth Beer was 2-for-5 with two three run homers. He's hit 10 and drove in 25 during the postseason. The real life record is 8 and 21 (Barry Bonds, Nelson Cruz, and Carlos Beltran for homers, David Freese for RBI's), so Beer has done what no other player has every accomplished in real baseball. Nick Gordon was 2-for-5 with a double, run scored, and RBI. Mickey Moniak didn't let injury stop him, and he went 2-for-5 with 2 doubles and 2 runs scored. Vlad Jr. was 2-for-4 with a walk, 2 runs, and 2 RBI's. October 31st, 2024: Lazarito's diagnosis came back negative, and he's at full strength for game five. This could be it, as Walker Buheler (6-8, 4.44 ERA, 1.37 WHIP: 1-1, 4.76 ERA, 1.24 WHIP) took on Michael Baumann (12-6, 4.66 ERA, 1.40 WHIP: 0-2, 5.40 ERA, 1.40 WHIP) in a game 1 rematch. Up 3-1, we scored 2 in the 2nd, 2 in the 3rd, and 3 in the 6th, to win Game 5 and the 2024 World Series 7-3!!!!!! WE DID IT!!! WE DID IT!!! WE DID IT!!! YOUR MARLINS ARE THE 2024 WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS!!! Buehler went 5.2 innings with 4 hits, 2 runs, 3 walks, and 8 strikeouts. The rest of the pen finished the final 3.1 innings with 4 hits, 1 run, 1 walk, and 5 strikeouts. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-3 with a two run homer. Seth Beer was 2-for-5 with a double, run scored, and his 26th RBI. Nick Gordon, who was named MVP despite Beer being a God, was 1-for-3 with a walk. Shoehi Ohtani was 3-for-5 with a run scored, RBI, and double. Thomas Dillard was 1-for-4 with a run scored, walk, RBI, and double. Vlad Jr. was 2-for-4 with a sac bunt. Lazarito was 1-for-3 with a run scored, 2 RBI's, and a sacrafice fly. Isn't this just beautiful? I had to take a moment and realize wahat I just did, taking the Miami Marlins to the World Series in my 7th year. My career record is 590-545 with 4 playoff appearences and an NL East Championship. Fear not Marlin fans, I'm not jumping ship, as these Marlins will live on! But that does mean that in an alternate universe, GM Anthony Yaghmour got a call from the Baltimore Orioles and has accepted their General Manager offer. Thanks for reading, hope you all enjoyed, and will continue to enjoy both this, and my next chapter! |

Awards, Arbitration, and Pre-Fre Agency
November 2nd, 2024: Back at it, I earned the achievement "Fantastic Score" for my score of 908.
Nick Gordon decided to not execute his opt out clause, so he'll be under contract from 2025-2028, although the Twins are still paying for it. I have a new budget of $182 million, good for 21st, but that means I still have no room for extensions or free agents... I also got my contract extended for 2-years, $1.5 million per year. The Blue Jays were sold by Alan Horn to Chris Pearison. He's "unmerciful" although "generous" with spending. He made his money in finance, so that's why he's so willing to spend, he's loaded. The Whiet Sox fired GM Logan White. It was his second season, and last year he got them to 1 game out of first with a 84-78 record. They struggled this year, 69-93, but he didn't deserve to get fired. They also fired longtime manager Miguel Centena, who's been with the team since 2018, where he went 0-6. His career record, all with Chicago, is 435-543. The Phillies fired GM Matt Klentak, who started his tenure with three 95+ win seasons. It's been rough the past two years, and the Phillies decided it was time to move on. The Giants fired GM Kim Ng, who was also in his second year. He didn't really get a chance to see through any sort of rebuild or anything, but the Giants thought it was time to move on. I extended the qualifying offer to Brendan Rodgers, released impending free agents Hansel Robles and Ben Heller to free up room on the 40, designated Adonis Medina and Max Marusak, to make room for the DL players. If Marusak clears, I'd eventually add him back, but for now, he will be down a roster spot. I'll tackle arbitration tomorrow... November 3rd, 2024: Here's the arbitration run down: SP Jake Florence (1-year, $2,340,000) SP A.J. Puckett (Traded to the Angels for LHP Ramon Perez): When you have money problems, you have to make these deals... RP Alpha Quivers (1-year, $2,150,000) RP Yasukazu Shiotani (Non-tendered): $13 million is too much for a declining, now 2.5* releifer... C Thomas Dillard (1-year, $12,560,000): That's his first arbitration contract... 2B Scott Kingery (1-year, $4,0080,000) LF Lazaro Armenteros (1-year, $3,120,000) CF Mickey Moniak (1-year, $5,960,000) Looking at the trade, Perez is a 25-year-old rated a 2/2.5 as a SP, and 3/3 as a RP. He didn't have the best year in the rotation for the Angels, but he's got an insane fastball that reaches triple digits. In his career with San Diego and the Angels, he's 19-17 with a 4.97 ERA and 1.49 WHIP in 257 innings with 230 strikeouts. November 5th, 2024: I lost RF Max Marusak to waivers, and outrighted Adonis Medina to AAA. Now with the Rangers, he might get more playing time. November 10th, 2024: The Tigers traded RHP Junior Fernandez to the Brewers for LF Je'Von Ward. It's a pretty even deal for both sides. November 11th, 2024: TEX CL Jose LeClerc and ATL CL Cole Winn won Reliever of the Year. Shiotani finished in third with 7 1st place votes and 43 total points. The Angels traded RHP Nick Hanson and C Nestore Pierozzi to the Marienrs for RF Jeff Aimone. It's a decent deal, but Aimone is a really promising young outfielder. November 12th, 2024: Seth Beer won Platinum Stick for NL 1B. He hit .273/.385/.547 with 36 homers to win the first of his career. November 13th, 2024: BAL 3B Juan Alfredo Walls and MIL C Carlos Perez won Rookie of the Year. The Nationsls traded 1B Guillermo Tatis to the Pirates for SP Gage Hinsz. It's a nice trade for the Nats, and I think the Pirates are selling low. Houston sent RF Seuly Matias to the Indias for RHP Jean Cosme and LF Mike Madderom. It's a pretty even deal. November 14th, 2024: SEA Manager Jose Zapata and MIA Manager Aaron Boone won Manager of the Year. It's nice to see Boone get recognized for helping lead this team to the World Series. He's done great for us, and he's now a 2-time World Champion. November 15th, 2024: SEA SP Juan Villasenor and NYM SP Noah Syndergaard were named Cy Young winners. I really wish I still had Villasenor... Shiotani got 3 points and Montgomery got 2. I'm still sad about Montgomery's injury, and being without a pitcher who's never had an ERA above 4, it'll be a tough loss to swallow. He's also probably my favorite player on my team. The Pirates sent LHP Cullen Dana to the Orioles for 3B Nick Maldonado. It's a pretty even deal. November 16th, 2024: BAL CF Benni Vogl and WSH 3B Tanner Kohlhepp were named MVP. Seth Beer earned 114 points and Thomas Dillard earned 9. Even adding them together, they are well short of 248. Ironically, Kohlhepp only got three first place votes, but still managed to win. November 24th, 2024: Brendan Rodgers rejected the qualifying offer, and will file for free agency. I'd recieve a compensation pick for him. To be safe, I'm exporting the draft order today, so i can manually edit any changes that occurred in the offseason if needed. In a seperate file, I'm going to save the compensation players, and update who signed them so I can determine which teams earn a compensation pick. Free Agency starts tomorrow! |

Free Agency Pt. 1
November 25th, 2024: Free Agents File today! Here's who OSA has as the top 10!
In no perticular order: LHP Zach Britton RHP Corey Knebel RHP Trevor Gott RHP Jandel Gustave RHP Thyago Vieira RHP Edwin Diaz LF D.J. Stewart 2B Brendan Rodgers RHP Marcos Molina 3B Rafael Devers As of now, I have just $7 milliion to spend on 1 year deals, so I doubt I'll be able to spend much. I'll have to re-allocate my resources a little no matter what, but don't expend major Free Agent signigns. Especially Devers, who wants $69 million, but will probably sign two weeks in for like $30 million per year... Rodgers wants 3rd most, a more reasonable $25 million per year. Boston sent 1B Nick Pratto to the Rockies for SS Matt Duffy and SS Josiah Miller. It's a fair deal, but I like this for the Red Sox. Here's my offseason plan: 1. Either sign/trade for 2 back of the rotation starters or turn Walker Buehler into 2 different starting pitchers. 2. Add a top righty arm for the pen. 3. Find a way to heal Jordan Montgomery so he can pitch Opening Day 2025 not 2026... November 27th, 2024: The Reds RHP Reyes Moronta has suffered a rehab setback, one that will cost him his career. The 31-year-old pitched 224.2 innings in the majors with the Giants, Indians, Phillies, and Reds, compiling a 4.85 ERA and 1.51 WHIP with 310 strikeouts and a 12-16 record. November 29th, 2024: The Orioles extended C Chance Sico to a 4-year, $94,800,000 extension. In his career, he's hit .268/.355/.418 with 358 HR's and 825 RBI's. It's a bit pricey, but good catching is hard to come across. Houston sent RHP Riley Ferrell and RHP Joel Keith to the Cardinals for 2B Max Schrock. It's a steal for the Cardinals. December 1st, 2024: I casted my Hall of Fame ballot today: CF Carlos Beltran 1B Jason Giambi LF Matt Holliday C Victor Martinez C Joe Mauer CL Francisco Rodriguez SS Jimmy Rollins RF Ichiro Suzuki CL Billy Wanger SP C.C. Sabathia I'm guessing Beltran and Ichiro both get in, as they had over 70%. Mauer and V-Mart should get in too, although it might be next years. December 3rd, 2024: The Dodgers made a big splash, signing SP Jose Quintana to a 3-year, $67.8 million contract. With the White Sox, Cubs, and Astros, he's a career 133-108 pitcher with a 3.41 ERA, 1.33 WHIP, and 2,084 strikeouts in 2,315 innings. The Tigers made an interesting signing, grabbing RHP Cliff Merritt to a 2-year, $4,840,000 per year deal despite the fact he's never played in the majors. The Former 2020 4th Round Pick of the White Sox is rated a 3/3.5, but has injyr problems. December 5th, 2024: The Brewers traded 3B Jose Tortolero to the Phillies for RHP Ryan Burr and RF Ignacio Apodaca. This is just a really werid trade... December 6th, 2024: Here's a really weird trade I made, that I don't like, but at the same time I'm getting the type of player I want, but I'll then need to trade to add another player. It's confusing, but in the long run, it should make sense. 1st, it's really hard to trade for SP, esepcially young, good ones, so I acquired 24-year-old Steve Paustian from the Giants for SS NicK Gordon and RF Carlos Soler. So yeah, I kind of traded my starting SS and I don't really have a replacement, yet. Here me out: Paustian is a 3/4.5 who is controllable all the way until 2030. He can jump right into the rotation, and gives me the best 5th starter in the league if Montgomery was healthy. He's got 93 stamina, and three plus-plus pitches. The former 3rd Rouunder from 2019 was 9-10 with a 4.48 ERA and 1.63 WHIP in his rookie season with the Giants last season. I now need a SS, but that's a lot easier to acquire then a top SP. December 10th, 2024: The Red Sox signed JoJo Romero to a 4-year, $32.5 million contract. The longtime Philly is a career 47-50 with a 4.07 ERA and 1.29 WHIP. The Nationals have acquired C Jeremy Martinez and 1B Eddie Haden from Toronto for RHP Erling Moreno. It's a steal for the Jays, and hopefully the Nats won't compete this year... December 11th, 2024: I made a huge blockbuster with the Phillies that I may or may not regret later. I acquired young, superstar SS Isaac Nunez for LF Adam Haseley, RHP Jimmy Sherfy, and LHP Josh Weske. I'm really going to miss Weske, but Nunez is the real deal. He had a bit of a down year offensively, but he's just 24 and has amazing hit tools. He's got insane speed, one of the best gloves in the league, and puts 150% effort into every play. He's rated a 3.5/5, and is exactly what we needed. He's also controllable until 2029. It was a busy day around the league, as the Braves extended 1B Freddie Freeman to a 3-year, $26.4 million per year deal, with the final a 135 game vesting option. Now 35, the Brave slugger has a .286/.383/.511 triple slash with 382 hoemrs and 1,232 RBI's. Another big slugger in 1B Joey Gallo extended with the Rangers, 6-years, $39.5 million per year deal, with the final a 135 game vesting option. The longtime Ranger has a career .231/..352/.531 line with 383 HR's and 886 RBI's. Lastly, the Cubs signed CF Anthony Alford to a 4-year, $10.9 million per year contract. The former Marlin is a career .243/.335/.399 hitter with 99 homers, 373 RBI's, and 147 steals. And tomorrow starts the Winter Meetings, although nothing can top today... December 12th, 2024: The Winter Meetings did have action for the openeing day: The Mariners signed 1B Paul Goldschmidt to a 3-year, $30.9 million deal with the final year a 135 game vesting option, which seems to be the go to for 1B. Goldy returned to Seattle, but hasn't been his star self since 2020. The Reds traded CF Jerrion Ealy to the Phillies for LHP Dave Schultz and RHP Ignacio Hinojos. This deal is an absolute steal for the Reds, as Hinojos is way better then the other two, and I wish I had him. Baltimore sent CF Emekak Longs, LHP Tommy Haddoz, and RHP Camden Schanowski to the Pirates for RHP Nick Burdi. For some reason, Baltimore wants him to start, although they still get a decent deal here. The Angels sent RHP Christian Scott to Tampa for SS Wander Samuel Franco and LHP Ben Harris. I like this deal for my in-state rival. Lastly, the Phillies traded 3B Kyle Seager to the Braves for LHP Keivn Populus and RHP Leudy Martinez. I like this deal for the Phillies. I purchased the contract of SP Marc Bjork to protect him from the Rule-5 Draft. December 13th, 2024: Philly keeps making deals, sending RF Bryce Harpert to the Red Sox for LHP Ryan Lynch, SS Josiah Miller, and 2B Zachariah Bowlby. I feel like they could've gotten much more for Big Daddy Bryce, and the offer I sent them in July was much better for them. The Pirates sent C Brad Debo and 1B Mike McMillan to the Rangers for Anderson A. Tejada. I like this deal for both teams. December 14th, 2024: Today was anothe rreally busy day, as I really like how the Winter Meetings have turned out this year. The Red Sox and Phillies made a "Part 2" of the Harper trade, with Jackie Bradely Jr. going to Phialdelphia for RHP Corey Walter. It's basically a salary dump. The Blue Jays traded RHP Carlos Martinez to the Dodgers for 3B Nolan Arrenado in a big name deal. I like this deal for both teams. The Phillies keep dealing, sending LF Corenlius Randolph to Colorado for RHP Mashiaro Tanaka. New Phillies GM Sean Coughlin has his trade frequency maxed out. The Cubs sent C Wilson Contreras and cash to the Padres for RHP Carlo Salazar and RHP Justin Jarvis. I like this deal for both teams. Lastly, Oaklkand snet RHP Joe Bernal and 3B Thomas Keehn to the Rangers for 2B Nasim Nunez and 3B Yenci Pena. It's a good trade for both sides. I think the AI is finally out-trading me now... December 15th, 2024: The crazy Winter Meetings ended today. The Dodgers signed RHP Adrodys Vizcaino to a 1-year, $3 million contract. This marks his 7th team in 7 seasons. He's a career 3.54 ERA with a 1.29 WHIP in 501 innings. The Mariners sent RHP Josh Wolf to the Phillies for LF D.J. Wilson. This is a steal for the Phillies. Between Dipoto and Coughlin, we'll see a lot of trades. December 16th, 2024: The Dodgers signed LHP Jose Torres to a 1-year, $5.5 million contract. He spent the 2016-2024 with San Diego and Milwaukee, accumulating 405.2 innings with a 3.68 ERA and 1.23 WHIP. December 19th, 2024: I traded C Nick Feight to the A's for RHP A.J. Labas. Labas, 26, is a former 2020 4th Rounder, and rated a 2/2.5 as a RP. He can pitch out of the rotation and has 4 decent pitches. He's not a big piece, but a nice depth option. I also purchased the contract of C Jake Taylor from AAA. December 21st, 2024: The Blue Jays sent LF Bob Matthews to the Tigers for RHP Jaime Barria and RHP Elian Pena. I like this deal for Toronto. Toronto made another deal, sending 2B Reizo Honda and LHP Josh Cronin to the Dodgers for RHP C.J. Jorgensen. It's a pretty good deal for both teams, although I'm not sure why LA is willing to part with Jorgensen. The Pirates sent RHP Tanner Anderson to the Astros for SS Hector Leon, C Segio Elizalde, and SS Austin Shultz. This is a really good deal for the Pirates. December 24th, 2024: Today is the Rule-5 Draft! I lost 2B Logan Forsythe to the Rays, althoug I'm not at all mad about that. I selected RF Austin Hendrick from the Rockies to be my 4th OF. The former 1st Rounder back in 2020, the lefty has an absolute cannon, and great speed. He's going to hit a lot of doubles, and has an overall solid bat. He's rated a 2.5/3.5 and can play all 3 spots, although he needs a little work in center. December 26th, 2024: The Indians signed Carter Capps to a 1-year, $2,760,000 contract. After three years with the Cubs that didn't go as planned, he'll hope to rebound in the AL. The Mariners signed LF Eloy Jimenez to a 3-year, $26.2 million deal. He was a Mariner during the regular season, but deided to return after a little over a month in free agency. He's a career .281/.322/.538 hitter with 185 homers and 552 RBI's. The Royals traded LF Danny Contreras to the White Sox for SP Dane Dunning. I like this deal for the Sox, although you can never have too much pitching. December 28th, 2024: I added a nice option to my pen in RHP Dylan Cease. He's a bit fragile, but still rated a 4*. Cease has spent time as a starter, but his best performance came out of the pen last year with the Red Sox. He'll work the 8th inning, coming off a season with a 2.27 ERA and 1.01 WHIP and 54 strikeouts in 35.2 innings. December 29th, 2024: The Mariners signed LHP Matt Purke to a 1-year, $4,440,000 contract to be their closer. He's a career 32-26 with a 3.77 ERA and 1.33 WHIP. The Jays signed CL Trevor Gott to a 3-year, $69.6 million contract. After spending the past 5+ years as the Dodgers closer, he'll move to the AL. In his career, he's earned 185 saves and struck out 609 hitters in 586.1 innings. The former Angel, National, Brave, and Dodger owns a career 3.02 ERA and 1.19 WHIP. Dececmber 30th, 2024: Brendan Rodgres signed a 6-year, $145,400,000 contract with the Cardinals, which nets us a compensation pick. Te 28-year-old is a career .269/.338/.433 hitter wtih 113 homers and 407 RBI's with us and the Rockies. The Astros signed SP Marcos Moilna to a 4-year, $18.2 million per year contract. With the Mets and Phillies, he was 66-56 with a 3.70 ERA and 1.29 WHIP in 1,012.1 innings with 735 strikeouts and 287 walks. See you next year! |

Free Agency Pt. 2
January 1st, 2025: Happy New Year! The Brewers treated their fans by signing RHP Alvaro Seijas to a 2-year, $10.9 million contract. It's an interesting signing for someone who pitched 36.1 innings last year in his only big league season. I actually had him in my organization for a while, after claiming him off waivers from St. Louis.
January 10th, 2025: I claimed Rogelio Padro off waivers and sent him to the GCL. He's a 19-year-old who's rated a 0.5/2.5. January 14th, 2025: I claimed RF Nate "Icon" Bagwell of waivers and sent him to Greensboro. For sake of the storyline, I'm going to say he's Jeff Bagwell's son. The 21-year-old is rated a 0.5/3 and has massive pop from the right side. He's not the best fielder, and may eventually have to move to first. He was an 11th rounder back in 2021. Minnesota signed LF Luis Valquez to a 1-year, $7.1 million contract. He came over from Cuba in 2018, and has been a Blue Jay every year before this. He hit .275/.381/.566 with 215 homers and 598 RBI's in 2,896 at bats. January 15th, 2025: The Hall of Fame results were announced, with Carlos Beltran (84.8) and Ichiro Suzuki (76.4) inducted in their third and second year. C.C. Sabathia (59.6), Joe Mauer (54.3), Matt Holliday (50.6), and Justin Verlander (50.3) were all close. Billy Wagner (23.9) was dropped in his 10th attempt. January 21st, 2025: I claimed Aaron W. Brown off waivers, and sent him to Jacksonville. The righty has a nasty curveball, and has a future as either a SP (0.5/2) or RP (2.5/3). He was a 9th Round Pick from Oakland back in 2020. January 22nd, 2025: The Red Sox signed LHP Kyle McGrath to a 1-year, $5.2 million contract. In his career, he's 26-21 with a 3.55 ERA and 449 strikeouts in 469.1 innings. January 26th, 2025: The Athletics traded RHP Logan Shore and RHP Juan Quintana to the Red Sox for LF Eric DeWire and RHP Ben Bagley. This is an absolute steal for Boston... Next up, the preseason! |

Preseason
January 28th, 2025: To kick off the preseason, a pair of releivers signed contracts. Jonathan Holder is now a Red Sox, making $5.1 million this year. Phil Maton signed with the Twins for 100 thousand less.
I placed Jordan Montgomery and Mason Barentt on the 60-Day DL as well. January 29th, 2025: The Cubs signed RHP Raisel Iglesias to a 1-year, $4,960,000 contract. The 35-year-old has 84 career saves and a 3.70 ERA in 591 games (22 starts). February 1st, 2025: The Rangers signed longtime Mets 1B Domonic Smith to a 1-year, $10,800,000 contract. He hit .276/.344/.469 with 177 homers and 592 RBI's from 2017-2024. February 3rd, 2025: More Free Agent action, the Giants signed C Gary Sanchez to a 1-year, $9.9 million contract. It will be his fourth organization in four years. Last season with the Angels, he hit .220 with 24 homers and 54 RBI's. February 4th, 2025: The Tigers sent 3B Garrett Blaylock to the Angels for CF Johan Sala. I like this deal for the Tigers. February 6th, 2025: I claimed Max Marusak off waivers from the Rangers. Way back when he got claimed, I said if he was waived again, I'd re-claim him. He went 3-for-9 with an RBI and steal in 4 games with us. February 9th, 2025: The Astros sent RHP Charles King and 2B Daylen Reyes to the Padres for 2B Allen Cordoba. Not sure what Houston was thinking, especially considering I wanted King and would've gave them a better deal. February 10th, 2025: The Mariners made a big splash, giving 3B Rafael Devers $33,000,000 on a one-year deal. After a long run with Boston, where he hit .312/.371/.567 with 270 homers and 830 RBI's, he'll joing the AL West champions. February 13th, 2025: I sent RHP Michael Feliz back to the Cubs for LF Matt Hogan. Hogan is rated a 2/3 and the 25-year-old has blinding speed and is a great defender at all three outfield spots. The former 2021 5th Rounder has a great eye, but not the best bat. February 17th, 2025: I signed SP Dinelson Lamet to a 1-year, $1.7 million contract to be the 5th starter. A Padre from 2017-2023, he signed with Seattle and went 11-12 with a 4.84 ERA and 1.49 WHIP in 33 starts. He's starterd 33 or more games every year except one from 2018-2024. Spring Training is next! |

Spring Training
February 27th, 2025: I called up all the non-roster players today.
February 28th, 2025: The Brewers have reunited with former CL Corey Knebel. He agreed to a 3-year, $58.2 million contract. After a year with the Giants, Astros, and Red Sox, he'll return to the organization he spent 2015-2021 with. In his career, he has 175 saves in 657 games with a 3.85 ERA and 1.30 WHIP. March 1st, 2025: The Reds traded RHP Hunter Greene and cash to the Yankees for C Canaan Smith. I really like this deal for the White, although they need him to bounce back after a rough year. The Reds could be selling low. March 3rd, 2025: The Mariners acquired 2B Kevin Merrell from the A's for 1B Evan White. I like this deal for Oakland, although the Mariners will find a way to re-acquire White. March 5th, 2025: Lazaro Armenteros has a sore elbow and will head to the DL. He'll be back by Opening Day. March 8th, 2025: The Brewres will be withouth LHP Randy Rosario for the year with a torn labrum. They claimed him off waivers from Washington in the postseason. The Cubs signed longtime National Anthony Rendon to a 2-year, $10.6 million contract. The 34-year-old is a career .267/.352/.444 hitter with 201 homers and 694 RBI's from 2013-2024 with Washington. March 14th, 2025: Thomas Dillard will head to the DL with a strained lat, and will hopefully be back for Opening Day. Any time without him will be rough, although he was hurt at this time last year and stayed healthy all year. March 15th, 2025: Isaac Nunez will miss about 2 weeks with shoulder inflammation, but should be ready for Opening Day. Jaheim Meggett ruptured a tendon in his finger, and will miss 3 months. It's another big injury for the former 2nd Rounder. He'll head to the 10-Day DL before I option him to AAA. March 22nd, 2025: The Orioles will be without SP Nick Burdi for the year wtih a torn flexor tendon. They acquired him from the Pirates in the offseason. He pitched from 2018-2024 with them, going 39-38 in 453 games (39 starts) with a 3.52 ERA and 1.23 WHIP. Former Marlin MHP Ben Heller signed a 1-year, $2,720,000 contract with Oakland, where he pitched from 2020-2024, before being traded to us in July. Last year, he was 6-3 with a save and 2.93 ERA as well as a 1.05 WHIP and 75 strikeouts in 58.1 innings. March 25th, 2025: The Dodgers lost Carlos Martinez for the year with a torn labrum. They acquired him from Toronto for Nolan Arrenado in December. He's 101-104 with a 4.17 ERA and 1.32 WHIP in 380 games (307 starts). March 28th, 2025: Lazaro Armenteros is back with the club. Dillard should return tomorrow. Toronto signed CL Thyago Viera to a 1-year, $9.9 million deal. He's had an up and down career, but recorded 20 or more saves from 2020-2024 with the White Sox. March 29th, 2025: Dillard rejoined the club just in time. March 31st, 2025: Isaac Nunez rejoined the roster. April 2nd, 2025: While I don't play tomorrow, tomorrow is Opening Day. Here's the current roster of the defending World Series Champions: SP Walker Buehler (4/4) SP Jake Florence (3.5/5) SP Dinelson Lamet (3/3) SP Steve Paustian (3/4.5) SP Mike Soroka (3/3.5) RP Dylan Cease (4/4) RP Slade Cecconi (4/4.5) RP Ernesto Estrella (3.5/4) RP Ramon Perez (3.5/3.5) RP Ben Popkin (3/4) RP Alpha Quivers (4.5/4.5) RP Chasen Shreve (3.5/3.5) CL Jorge Moya (5/5) C Thomas Dillard (5/5) C Austin Hedges (1.5/1.5) 1B Seth Beer (4/4) 2B Deshawn Hardamon (3.5/5) 2B Scott Kingery (3/3) 3B Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (5/5) SS Isaac Nunez (4/5) LF Lazaro Armenteros (4/4.5) LF Cole Roederer (3/3) CF Mickey Moniak (4/4) RF Austin Hendrick (3/4) RF Shoehi Ohtani (4/4) This roster isn't totally complete, I plan on looking at waivers to replace Cecconi in the pen (so he can start in AAA) and add an infielder for Cole Roederer. Worst case, I can sign a free agent or promote one of the infielders I added on minor league deals. We start the 2025 Regular Season next! |

April 3rd-April 10th
April 3rd, 2025: Happy Opening Day! The preseason predictions have us at 97-65, the best record in the NL, second to just Baltimore of the AL. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is ranked the 2nd top hitter.
LHP Esteban Aguirre of the Reds is ranked the #1 prospect in baseball. 4.5* potential SS Rogerlio Maldonado is our top prospect, ranked at #4. I signed him back in 2023 for a $4,480,000 bonus, and he'll start in the DSL this year. We have the 14th farm system overall, with last year's 4th Round pick C.J. Vick ranked 89th and 2B Tristan Hanoian 146th. The Rangers signed LHP Grant Dayton to a $2.6 million contract. The Mets signed RHP Nick Goody to a $3,120,000 contract. We start the season tomorrow, hosting the Padres and MacKenzie Gore. We have an off day the 5th, and will then see Chris Rodriguez and John Creel. April 4th, 2025: The Dodgers signed former Marlin Drew Steckenrider to a 1-year, $2,840,000 contract. The Blue Jays signed RHP Julian Fernandez to a 1-year, $2,720,000 contract. We started our year as defended champions with Walker Buehler facing MacKenzie Gore and the Padres in a sold out Marlins Park that hasn't seen a game since game two of the World Series. Our lineup was LF Armenteros, 2B Hardamon, 3B Guerrero Jr., 1B Beer, SS Nunez, RF Ohtani, C Dillard, CF Moniak, P Buehler. All players are 3.5 and up overall. This team looks legit! It was a high scorer, and we allowed 6 in the 7th, to fall behind 9-8. We got 1 in the 8th, and we walked it off in the 10th, 10-9 for a thrilling opener. Dylan Cease left with an injury in his Marlins debut, allowing 2 runs in 0.2 innings with a hit, walk, and strikeout. Buehler went 5, allowing 2 hits, 2 runs, 4 walks, and 5 strikeouts. Slade Cecconi allowed a run, hit, walk, and strikeout in the 6th, Ben Popkin was charged with 3 runs with 2 walks and 2 hits without getting an out. Jorge Moya got the win, 2 innings with a hit and 2 strikeouts. Thomas Dillard was 2-for-4 with a solo homer, triple, 2 runs scored, and a walk. Lazaro Armenteros was 1-for-4 with a solo homer, 2 runs, and a hit by pitch. Shoehi Ohtani was 1-for-3 with a pair of sac fly's, a two run homer, and 4 total RBI's. Deshawn Hardamon was 2-for-5 with a double. Isaac Nunez was 2-for-5 with an RBI, 2 runs, and a steal. April 5th, 2025: The Padres signed RHP Dellin Betances to a 1-year, $5.5 million deal. I was in on him before the price tage rose up past $3.5 million. The Blue Jays signed Cuban Free Agents Sergio Morales to a $8,000,000 contract. With no experience, his contract will be renewed at this ammount until he reaches arbritation. April 6th, 2025: Cease just has a sore thumb, and will be back for today's game. Jake Florence took on Chris Rodriguez in game two of the season. The Padres got 6 runs in the first two innings and took the middle game 7-3. Florence went 2 innings, allowing 6 hits and 7 runs with 2 walks, and it wasn't quite the start he was hoping for. Ramon Perez tossed 4 mop up innings with 2 hits and 7 strikeouts, an impressive Marlins debut for the 25-year-old. Mickey Moniak was 3-for-4 and a triple away from the cycle. He got a steal, and his homer was a 2-run shot. Seth Beer was 2-for-4 with a double and solo homer. The White Sox CF Blake Rutherford hit 3 homers in a 13-4 win over the Twins. April 7th, 2025: I claimed RHP Domingo German off waivers, and optioned Ceccioni to AAA. German has pitched sparingly, appearing in 2017, 2018, and 2023, but is rated as a 2.5 releiver. He's got a starter arsenal and stamina, but I like him more as a long man. The openeing Power Rankings have us at 17th. We looked to win the openeing series with Steve Paustian taking on Adrian Morejon. After allowing 2 in the 8th, we finished the first 9 at a 3-3 tie. It took until the 16th, before Lazaro Armenteros hit a walk off double of Felix Jorge. Paustian had a nice Marlins debut, 5.2 innings with 4 hits, a run, 2 walks, and 9 strikeouts. Dylan Cease blew the save, 2 runs and 2 hits with a strikeout in 0.2 innings. Domingo German tossed 3 shutout innings in his debut, with a hit, walk, and 2 strikeouts. Ben Popkin got the win, 4 innings with 3 hits, a walk, and 3 strikeouts. Deshawn Hardamon was 3-for-5 with a solo homer. Thomas Dillard was 2-for-5 with a double and 2 hit by pitches. Armenteros was 1-for-5 with the game winner and 2 walks. Austin Hendrick came off the bench and went 2-for-4 with a run scored. The Mets come to town, and we'd see Chris Sale, Luis Marrero, and Noah Syndergaard (0-0, 1.23 ERA). The Mets have started hot, 3-0 to begin the year. April 8th, 2025: I took a gamble and claimed SS Jon Reid off waivers. He's a 0.5/3.5 with an amazing glove at short. He's got 100 range and great speed, to go with a solid bat. I'd option Cole Roederer to AAA to make room. The Blue Jays signed Zach Britton to a 1-year, $4,880,000 contract. Mike Soroka took on Chris Sale in the opener against the Mets. He'd have to watch out for Mets star Gregorio Alvarenga, who's 17-for-38 against him. The Mets got 4 in the 9th, and we got 2 in the bottom half, but we dropped the opener 7-3. Soroka went 8.1 innings, allowing 8 hits, 5 runs (2 earned), 2 walks, and 7 strikeouts. German allowed 2 in 0.1 innings with 2 hits. Armenteros was 2-for-4 with a solo homer. Shoehi Ohtani was 2-for-4 with an RBI. April 9th, 2025: We looked to bounce back with Dinelson Lamet facing Luis Marrero. Marrero is a shell of his former self, a 1.5* pitcher after looking like the best player in the game. We scored 2 in the 9th to tie the game at 5, but allowed a bases loaded walk in the 11th to drop the second game 6-5. Lamet allowed 3 hits, 3 runs, 2 walks, and 4 strikeouts in 5 innings. Dylan Cease tossed 2 innings with 3 strikeouts. Alpha Quivers allowed 2 runs, a hit, and walk without getting an out. Jorge Moya got the loss, 2 innings with 3 hits, a run, 3 walks, and 2 strikeouts. Deshawn Hardamon was 3-for-6 with a double, homer, run scored, and 3 RBI's. Rule-5 pick Austin Hendrick was 2-for-4 with 2 runs scored, a walk, and steal in his first career start. Thomas Dillard was 1-for-4 with a walk, solo homer, and 2 runs scored. Lazaro Armenteros was 3-for-6 with a double and RBI. Braves 1B Freddie Freeman hit three homers in a 7-5 win over the Twins. April 10th, 2025: The Rays will be without RHP Glenn Otto for the year with a torn rotator cuff. He walked the only batter he faced this year. We looked to avoid the sweep with Walker Buehler (0-0, 3.60 ERA, 1.20 WHIP) taking on Noah Syndergaard (0-0, 1.23 ERA, 0.95 WHIP). The pitching was great, and we shut the Mets out 2-0 to salvage the finale. Buehler allowed just 1 hit and 2 walks in 7 innings with 10 strikeouts. Alpha Quivers got a hold, strking out all 4 batters he faced, and Jorge Moya got the last two outs for the save. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-3 with a double. Mickey Moniak was 1-for-4 with an RBI. Isaac Nunez and Lazaro Armenteros were 1-for-3 with a run and steal. Buehler was 1-for-2 with a sacrafice bunt. Well, it's not how I wanted to start the year, 3-3 at home, but it's time to hit the road. We're off to Atlanta for three before a day off. We'd see Lucas Sims (0-1, 15.00 ERA), Chris Helmick (0-1, 5.40 ERA), and Tyler Glasnow (0-1, 7.20 ERA). Before I finish this, I wanted to take a quick peek back at my draft classes and players in the majors (or who have played). 2018 2nd Rounder: RF Max Marusak 2nd Rounder: SP J.P. Gates 4th Rounder: SS Jack Filby 12th Rounder: RP Ernesto Estrella 13th Rounder: RP Gunnar Hoglund 26th Rounder: RP Brett Conine 2019 1st Rounder: 2B Tyler Callihan 2020 1st Rounder: SP Josh Weske 9th Rounder: SP Doug Daniels Callihan looks like a star, and Weske has great starter potential, but a lot of these guys are more role players then anything. Estrella does have great stuff out of the pen as well. |

April 11th-April 17th
April 11th, 2025: The Blue Jays signed RP Jimmy Herget to a 1-year, $2,160,000 contract.
We had our first road series in Atlanta, with Jake Florence (0-1, 31.50 ERA, 4.00 WHIP) looking to bounce back after a nightmare first start of the year against fellow righty Lucas Sims (0-1, 15.00 ERA, 3.33 WHIP), who was also roughed up. Florence was brilliant, and lead us to a 4-0 shutout to take the opener. He went 7 innings with 7 hits, 2 walks, and 6 strikeouts. Dylan Cease and Ernesto Estrella both tossed scorless innings. Cease allowed a hit, Estrella got a strikeout. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was 1-for-5 with a solo homer. Mickey Moniak was 2-for-5. Lazaro Armenteros was 2-for-4 with 2 runs, an RBI, and steal. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-4 with a run scored and double. April 12th, 2025: The day after signing his new contract, Herget was diagnosed with a torn flexor tendon. He tossed 2.1 innings with 2 hits, a run, walk, and 4 strikeouts in his debut. Game two saw Steve Paustian (0-0, 1.59 ERA, 1.06 WHIP) take on Chris Hemllick (0-1, 5.40 ERA, 1.60 WHIP). The Braves offense showed up today, and they evened the series with a 9-4 win. Paustian allowed 6 hits and 5 runs in 3.2 innings with a pair of walks and strikeouts. Domingo German was charged with 3 runs off 3 hits in 0.2 innings with a strikeout. Estrella allowed an unearned run with a hit and fly out. Lazaro Armenteros was 1-for-4 with a 2-run homer. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-2 with a double. Jon Reid got a pinch hit single for his first career hit in his ifirst career at bat. April 13th, 2025: We looked to take the series with former Brave Mike Soroka (0-1, 2.16 ERA, 1.20 WHIP) facing Tyler Glasnow (0-1, 7.20 ERA, 1.80 WHIP). We got 2 in the 7th, but dropped the finale 4-2. Soroka allowed 4 in 5.2 innings with a walk and 4 strikeouts. The rest of the pen struck out 5 in 2.1 innings. Deshawn Hardamon was 2-for-3 with a two run homer and a walk. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-4 with a double. Mickey Moniak and Vlad Jr. were both 1-for-3 with walks. Ronald Acuna extended his hit streak to 20 in the game as well. Tomorrow we got a needd day off, as we haven't started strong. April 14th, 2025: Hardamon was named NL Player of the Week, hitting .423 with 3 homers, 6 RBI's, and 5 run scored. The 22-year-old has been a steal off waivers, as he's blossomed into a young star as Brendan Rodgers replacement. We're all the way down to 20th in the Power Rankings, as our record now sits at 4-5 after we've dropped two straight series. We're off to Kansas City to face the Royals. We'll see Christopher A. Reynolds (0-0, 7.71 ERA), Alec Mills (1-0, 3.60 ERA), and former Marlin Tyler Mahle (1-0, 3.60 ERA). April 15th, 2025: We'll open the series with Dinelson Lamet (0-0, 5.40 ERA, 1.00 WHIP) taking on Reynolds (0-0, 7.71 ERA, 1.50 WHIP). We continued to struggled, falling 4-3 to lose our third straight. Lamet pitched fine, 5.2 innings with 7 hits, 2 runs (1 earned), a walk, and 9 strikeouts. Domingo German allowed 2 runs in an inning with 2 walks, hits, and strikeouts, to get the loss. I'd need to replace him. Alpha Quivers struck out 4 of 5 hitters he faced, with a single sprinkled in. Austin Hendrick was 1-for-4 with an RBI double, and was able to DH with the AL game. Mickey Moniak was 2-for-4 with a double and 2 RBI's. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-2 with a walk and run scored. Thomas D illard was 1-for-3 with a run, walk, and steal. The Padre MacKenzie Gore tossed a 3-hit shutout in a 6-0 win. Acuna's hit streak was ended at 20. April 16th, 2025: Corbin Martin got the worst news he could, his career is now over. After tearing his ulnar collateral ligament for the second time, it was determined his career will be over. The Astros RHP was a career 7-10 with 3 saves and a 3.91 ERA in 198 innings with a 233 strikeouts and a 1.49 WHIP. I traded German to the Tigers for RHP Cliff Merritt, with his whole contract retained. The 27-year-old Merrit hasn't appearend in the majors, but is rated a 3.5* and has an overpowering triple digit fastball. The former 4th Rounder will be set to make his debut with us. Walker Buehler (1-0, 1.50 ERA, 0.75 WHIP) will face Alec Mills (1-0, 3.60 ERA, 1.20 WHIP) in the middle game as we look to get back on track. The offense came to play, and we evened the series with a 7-2 win. Dylan Cease left with an injury. He struck out the only batter he faced on 3 pitches and got a hold. Buehler went 5.2 innings, allowing 6 hits, a run, and he recorded 8 strikeouts. Ramon Perez allowed 2 hits, 2 walks, and a run in the 7th. Merritt went 1.2 innings with 2 walks and 3 strikeouts in his big league debut. The red-hot Hardamon was 2-for-4 with a double, 2 runs, 3 RBI's, and a walk to raise his average to .395 on the year. Vlad Jr. was 2-for-4 with a run scored, double, sac-fly, and 2 doubles. Mickey Moniak was 2-for-5 with a run, RBI, and double. April 17th, 2025: We looked to win the series with Jake Florence (1-1, 7.00 ERA, 1.89 WHIP) taking on former Marlin Tyler Mahle (1-0, 3.60 ERA, 1.60 WHIP). We evened our record at 6-6 with an 8-6 win. Florence went 4, allowing 4 hits, 3 runs, 2 walks, and he recorded 7 strikeouts. Perez allowed 3 runs and 3 hits in 1.1 innings with a walk and strikeout, but got the win. Shoehi Ohtani tossed 2.1 innings with 2 hits and 2 strikeouts. Him and Ernesto Estrella, who struck out the only hitter he faceed, got holds. Jorge Moya earned his 2nd save, tossing a perfect 9th with a strikeout. Hardamon was 2-for-3 with a walk, double, homer, 2 runs, and 4 RBI's. Austin hendrick was 2-for-4 with 2 runs scored. Thomas Dillard was 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles, a run, and RBI. Mickey Moniak was 1-for-4 with a double, walk, run, and RBI. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-4 with a run and RBI. We'd finish our road trip with four against Arizona, who sits at 7-5. We're 4 games out at 6-6, and the offense has really slumped. It reminds me of the old Marlins team's that didn't score, although the pitching hasn't been that good either. The big problems so far have been the struggled of Seth Beer, Shoehi Ohtani, and Vlad Jr. All three are hitting below .200 with just a homer a piece and none of them have more then 6 RBI's. Dillard hasn't been himself either, hitting .222 with just 2 homers and 3 RBI's. Isaac Nunez is hitting just .191 with 3 RBI's, although he's been amazing with the glove. |

April 18th-April 24th
April 18th, 2025: Dylan Cease is headed to the DL with a sore elbow, and will miss about 2 weeks. I recalled Patrick Raby to replace him on the active roster.
We started a four game series in Atlanta with Steve Paustian (0-1, 5.79 ERA, 1.50 WHIP) taking on Jean-Christopher Hernandez (1-1, 16.43 ERA, 2.22 WHIP) in a game we should win. Instead, Arizona edged us 4-2 to take the opener. Paustian went 6 innings, allowing 4 hits, 3 runs, 2 walks, and he recorded 4 strikeouts. Alpha Quivers allowed a hit and run with two strikeouts. Lazaro Armenteros was 1-for-3 with a walk, steal, and solo homer. Shoehi Ohtani was 1-for-4 with an RBI double. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was 1-for-3 with a walk and run scored. April 19th, 2025: We looked to get back on track with Mike Soroka (0-2, 3.86 ERA, 1.21 WHIP) facing former Marlin Jameson Taillon (1-0, 3.18 ERA, 1.24 WHIP). We allowed 4 in the 7th and dropped this one as well, 6-3. Soroka allowed 4 runs in 6 innings with 7 hits, 4 walks, and 3 strikeouts. Cliff Merritt allowed 2 runs, a hit, and a walk, without getting an out. Chasen Shreve struck out both batters he faced. Shoehi Ohtani was 2-for-4 with a run and RBI. Lazaro Armenteros was 1-for-4 with a 2-run double in the 9th. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was 1-for-4 with a double and run scored. Thomas Dillard walked three times and scored once in four plate appearences. April 20th, 2025: Today was a must-win, as Dinelson Lamet (0-0, 3.38 ERA, 1.22 WHIP) took on Scott Gingery (0-2, 6.55 ERA, 1.27 WHIP). Today was much better, and we got back in the win collum with a 4-1 victory. Lamet was excellent, 6 innings with 5 hits and 7 strikeouts. Patrick Raby made his season debut with 2 scorless innings and a strikeout. Jorge Moya allowed 3 hits and a run in the 9th, while also recording a strikeout. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-4 with a double. Austin Hedges was 1-for-4 with an RBI double. Lazaro Armenteros was 3-for-4 with a run scored and RBI. Isaac Nunez was 2-for-4 with a run scored. Rockies 2B Vidal Brujan extended his hit streak to 20 games. April 21st, 2025: Down in Jacksonville, former 2nd Rounder Tristan Hanoian was named player of the week, going 13-for-25 with 2 homers, 8 RBI's, and 4 runs scored. At 7-8, we moved up to 19th in the Power Rankings, although this is not where we should be, because we have much more talent then we've showed. I'm not disputing the ranking, it's the performance. We looked to earn the split with Walker Buehler (2-0, 1.53 ERA, 0.85 WHIP) taking on Zack Linginfelter (0-1, 8.31 ERA, 1.73 WHIP). It took 10 innings, but we got three in the top half to escape with a 4-1 victory. Buehler went 8 innings, allowing just 3 hits, 1 walk, and 8 strikeouts to lower his season ERA to 1.05. Moya allowed the run off 2 walks, a hit, and 2 strikeouts. Alpha Quivers tried to get the last out, but allowed a hit. He ended up with then win, going 1.1 innings with a hit and 3 strikeouts. Shoehi Ohtani went 3-for-5 wiht a solo homer in the first, a double, 2 runs, and 2 RBI's. Vlad Jr. was 1-for-4 with a 2 run double in the 10th. Mickey Moniak was 1-for-4 with a walk and run scored. Freddie Freeman hit three homers in a 12-4 Braves win over the Pirates. In the same game, Kyle Seager got his 2,000th career hit. We're headed back home to face the surprise 9-6 Phillies. We'd see Sixto Sanchez (0-0, 3.60 ERA), Mashiaro Tanaka (2-1, 3.12 ERA), and our former 1st Rounder Josh Weske (1-1, 3.86 ERA). April 22nd, 2025: Jake Florence (1-1, 6.92 ERA, 1.77 WHIP) got the ball in the opener as we hosted Sixto Sanchez (0-0, 3.60 ERA, 1.07 WHIP) and the Phillies in a sold out Marlins Park. The cold Seth Beer has good history with Sanchez, 7-for-20 with 3 homers. We headed into the 9th 2-1, but another former 1st Rounder of mine Tyler Callihan hit a solo home run of Alpha Quivers. In the bottom half, Shoehi Ohtani got an RBI single off Jimmy Sherfy and we walked off 3-2 winners. Florence was great, 7 innings with 2 hits, 1 run, 1 walk, and 6 strikeouts. Quivers went 1.2 innings with a hit, run and 2 strikeouts. Chasen Shreve got the last out of th e9th with a 1 pitch ground out, and ended up with the win. The hero Ohtani was 3-for-5 with a triple and the RBI single. Thomas Dillard was 1-for-4 with a solo homer. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-4 with a double, run, and RBI. Florence himself was 1-for-2 Angels RF Mike Smedley hit for the cycle in a 10-7 win over the Indians. April 23rd, 2025: We looked to win our third in a row with Steve Paustian (0-2, 5.28 ERA, 1.30 WHIP) taking on Mashiaro Tanaka (2-1, 3.12 ERA, 1.15 WHIP). It's funny, the Phillies top three hitters (Callihan, Adam Haseley, and Ernesto Arambula) are all former Marlins. Both teams got four in the first, and we escaped with an 8-7 win. Paustian had a rough outing, 3 innings with 4 hits, 5 runs, 6 walks, and 3 striikeouts. Ramon Perez allowed an unearned run in 2.1 innings with 2 hits and 2 strikeouts. Ernesto Estrella got the win, 1.2 innings with 2 hits, a run, 2 walks, and 3 strikeouts. Chasen Shreve and Jorge Moya got holds and Patrick Raby got the save. Shreve struck out the side in the 8th. Ohtani had another great game, as he looks to improve his free agent profile. He was a triple away from the cycle, and he drove in three runs. Seth Beer had a much needed great game, 3-for-4 with a solo homer and 2 total runs scored. Austin Hedges was 1-for-3 with a solo homer and sacrafice fly. Mickey Monaik was 3-for-5 with 2 runs scored. Former Phillie Isaac Nunez was 2-for-4 with a 2 run double. Cubs SS Mac Horvath improved his hit streak to 20 games. Aptil 24th, 2025: It's a minor deal, but Marcell Ozuna, now 34, rejoined the team on a minor league deal. He last played with us in 2017, and is a career .270/.324/.459 hitter with 217 homers and 760 RBI's. We looked to finish the sweep with Mike Soroka (0-3, 4.50 ERA, 1.40 WHIP) facing his former teammate Josh Weske (1-1, 3.86 ERA, 1.10 WHIP). We scored 4 in the 6th, and won another 1-run game 7-6, despite only having 6 hits. Soroka allwoed 3 (1 earned) in 6 innings with 9 hits, a walk, and 5 strikeouts. Ohtani allowed 2 in an inning with 2 hits, 2 walks, and a strikeout. Ernesto Estrella earned a hold, striking out 1 in the 8th, and Jorge Moya got the save. Moya allowed a run off 2 htis with 2 strikeouts in the 9th. Lazaro Armenteros was 3-for-4 with a two run homer off Weske and 2 total runs scored. Thomas Dillard was 1-for-3 with 2 runs, 2 RBI's, a walk, and a homer off Weske. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-4 with a triple, run scored, and 2 RBI's. Now just 3 games out, we get tomorrow off to get recharged! |

April 25th-May 1st
April 25th, 2025: Noah Campbell oof the Cardinals went 5-for-5 in a 8-2 win over the Cubs. Rockies 2B Vidal Brujan extended his hit streak to 25 and lowered his average to .412. He never looked that good in my system... Mac Horvath's streak, however, was ended at 21.
Today we got the day off, before hosting Los Angeles for three. They're an impressive 14-4 to start the year, and are leading their division. We'll see Robinson Ortiz (0-2, 5.40 ERA), Kevin Jalbert (1-0, 6.75 ERA), and Dennis Santana (1-0, 1.65 ERA). April 26th, 2025: Dinelson Lamet (1-0, 2.16 ERA, 1.08 WHIP) opens the series against Robinson Ortiz (0-2, 5.40 ERA, 1.10 WHIP). Historically, Lamet has done really well agains the Dodgers, and today was no different. We shut them out 2-0 in the opener. Lamet went 7 innings with 2 hits, 2 walks, and 7 strikeouts. Alpha Quivres got the hold striking out 2 in the 8th. Jorge Moya got the save striking out two in the 9th. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-3 with a solo homer. Seth Beer was 1-for-4 with a double. Mickey Moniak was 1-for-4 with an RBI. Rockies 3B Sahid Valenzuela was 5-for-6 in a Rockies 12-8 win over the Giants. His teammate, Brujan, couldn't get a hit, and his hit streak ended at 25. April 27th, 2025: Former Dodger Walker Buehler (2-0, 1.05 ERA, 0.74 WHIP) got game two as he looks to continue his amazing start to the year. He'll face Kevin Jalbert (1-0, 6.75 ERA, 1.64 WHIP). The Dodgers scored late, and took the middle game 4-3. Buehler went 5.1 innings, allowing 4 hits, 2 runs, 2 walks, and 8 strikeouts. Alpha Quivers allowed a run in the 8th, a solo homer, despite striking out the side. Jorge Moya got the loss, allowing a run, 2 hits, 2 walks, and a strikeout in the 9th. Shoehi Ohtani launced two homers, a solo and two run shot, in four at bats. Seth Beer was 1-for-3 with a double and walk. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was 2-for-4. April 28th, 2025: The Cardinals signed South Korean CL Hyo-jin Yaung to a $13,000,000 contract that will renew each season until he hits arbitration. He came over from the KBO, but lingered in free agency for a while. At 12-9 and 4 games out of first, we rank 8th in the Power Rankings. We looked to finish the series with a win, as Jake Florence (1-1, 4.95 ERA, 1.30 WHIP) took on Dennis Santana (1-0, 1.65 ERA, 0.80 WHIP). We got three in the second, and won the finale 4-2. Florence was solid, 5 innings with 7 hits, 2 runs, 2 walks, and 7 strikeouts. Ernesto Estrella, Chasen Shreve, and Alpha Quivers earned holds, while Patrick Raby picked up his second save. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-3 with a three run homer. Jr. was 1-for-4 with a solo homer. Shoehi Ohtani was 2-for-4 with a double. Thomas Dillard was 2-for-4 with a run scored. Mike Trout hit his 2,000th career hit in a 7-2 win over the Astros. The Angels star is a career .296/.414/.564 in 1,883 games and has accumulated 88.1 WAR. Atlanta comes to town next, and they're in last place, despite being 12-11. We'd see Tyler Glasnow (2-1, 3.86 ERA), Ian Bedell (0-1, 4.57 ERA), and Cole Winn (3-2, 3.96 ERA). April 29th, 2025: We opened the series with Steve Paustian (0-2, 6.87 ERA, 1.64 WHIP) taking on Tyler Glasnow (2-1, 3.86 ERA, 1.20 WHIP). The Braves got three in the eigth to take the opener 5-3. Paustian went 7 innings with 4 hits, 2 runs, 6 walks, and 3 strikeouts. Cliff Merritt allowed a run and walk without getting an out. Ernesto Estrella allowed 2 hits and 2 runs without recording an out. Shoehi Ohtani was 2-for-4 with a solo shot. Deshawn Hardamon was 2-for-4 with a steal. Mickey Moniak was 2-for-4 with a solo homer and 2 runs scored. Seth Beer was 1-for-4 wiht a double and RBI. Nationals SP Cole Ragans tossed a 2-hit shutout in a 2-0 win over the Indians. I optioned Merritt to AAA and recalled RHP Marc Bjork, who will be set to make his big league debut. He made 4 AAA starts, going 2-1 with a 2.66 ERA and 1.23 WHIP with 30 strikeouts in 23.2 innings. April 30th, 2025: The Tigers added Edwin Daiz on a 1-year, $36 million contract. We looked to even the series with Mike Soroka (1-3, 3.81 ERA, 1.46 WHIP) taking on Cole Winn (3-2, 3.96 ERA, 1.16 WHIP). We headed to the 9th with a 1-0 lead, but Alex Jackson hit a 2-run homer off Moya, and the Braves won 2-1. Soroka was great, 7 innings with 6 hits, a walk, and 5 strikeouts. Popkin got a hold, 2 strikeouts in the 8th. Moya allowed 2 runs and 3 hits with 2 strikeout sin the 9th. Ohtani was 1-for-4 with a solo shot. Guerrero has continued to heat up, 2-for-3 with a steal. We only had three total hits. Jonathan Schoop hit his 300th career homer as the White Sox beat the Orioles 7-6. May 1st, 2025: Former Marlin Tyler Callihan was nammed Rookie of the Month, hitting .360 with 4 homers and 13 RBI's. We looked to avoid the sweep with Dinelson Lamet (2-0, 1.52 ERA, 0.93 WHIP) taking on Lucas Sims (2-2, 5.06 ERA, 1.54 WHIP). If we get swept at home... The offense decided to show up, and we took the finale 7-1. Lamet has been a bargain signing, and went 7.1 innings with 4 hits, a walk, and 8 strikeout. He's 3-0 with a 1.16 ERA and has struck out 35 hitters in 31 innings this year with a 0.87 WHIP. He's making just $1.7 million. Bjork made his debut, allowing 3 hits, a walk, and getting 2 strikeouts in the 9th. Seth Beer was 1-for-1 with a two run homer, 2 walks, and 2 hit by pitches. Shoehi Ohtani was 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles, a walk 2 runs, and 2 RBI's. Lazaro Armenteros was 2-for-4 with 2 runs scoured and a double. THomas Dillard was 1-for-2 with a RBI, double, and 3 walks. Mickey Moniak was 1-for-3 with a run scored, RBI, walk, sac-fly, and double. It's off to New York for three with the Mets, who have a 5 game lead over us. We'd see Noah Syndergaard (1-2, 2.48 ERA), David Peterson (0-0, 3.38 ERA), and Michael Wacha (1-1, 2.48 ERA). May 2nd-May 8th
May 2nd, 2025: Dylan Cease begins his rehab assignment in AAA today.
We opened the series with an ace-off, Walker Buehler (2-0, 1.45 ERA, 0.81 WHIP) taking on Noah Syndergaard (1-2, 2.48 ERA, 1.02 WHIP) at Citi Field. Buehler beat New York, Thor lost to us. We scored early and often, and took the opener 9-1. Buehler went 5, allowing 3 hits, a run, 2 walks, and 8 strikeouts. Shoehi Othani is truly brilliant, 4 shutout innings with a hit and 4 strikeouts. He earned the save for his effort. Thomas Dillard was a perfecr 4-for-4 and a triple away from the cycle. He scored 4 times, walked once, and drove in two. Lazaro Armenteros was 3-for-5 with 2 doubles and 4 RBI's. Deshawn Hardamon was 2-for-5 with a double. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. finally got his average to the "Mendoza Line" and was 1-for-4 with 2 runs, a solo homer, and a walk. Fun Fact: Mario Mendoza's career average was actually .215, and hit between .190 and .210 only twice in his 8 seasons in the majors. May 3rd, 2025: Jake Florence (2-1, 4.68 ERA, 1.40 WHIP) took on David Peterson (0-0, 3.38 ERA, 0.75 WHIP) in game two of three. The Mets got four in the first and evened the series with a 5-2 win. Florence had a rough outing, going just 2 innings with 5 hits, 4 runs, and 4 strikeouts. Ramon Perez went 4, allowing just a solo homer with a walk and 3 strikeouts. Ernesto Estrella finished the last two innings, striking out 4 of the 6 hitters he faced. Thomas Dillard was 1-for-4 with a two run homer. Scott Kingery was 1-for-4 with a run and double. Isaac Nunez and Austin Hendrick were both 2-for-4, but Hendrick got a double. May 4th, 2025: We looked to win the finale, with Steve Paustian (0-2, 5.68 ERA, 1.58 WHIP) taking on Michael Wacha (1-1, 2.48 ERA, 1.04 WHIP). The Mets got 4 in the 2nd and took the finale 7-1. Paustian had a rough outing, 4 innings with 5 hits, 4 runs, 4 walks, and 3 strikeouts. Patrick Raby allwoed 3 runs in 1.1 innings with 3 walks and 3 hits. Perez tossed 1.2 more innings, with a hit, walk, and 3 strikeouts. Jon Reid was 2-for-3 with a double and steal. Jr. was 2-for-4 with a run scored and double. We really need the day off tomorrow, as the whole team is worn out... May 5th, 2025: We've dropped to 15-13 and fell to 14th in the Power Rankings. The Mets rank #1. Rangers LF Michael Conforto hit three homers in a 7-3 win over the White Sox. We're off to Washington to face the Nationals. We'd see Jacob Heatherly (0-2, 5.09 ERA), Gage Hinsz (3-0, 4.15 ERA), and Breiling Eusebio (1-0, 8.84 ERA) as we look to get back on track. May 6th, 2025: The draft pool was published today, and here are the top guys (My scout/OSA): 1. RHP Bobby Bell (1.5/4.5) 2. RHP Jody Butera (2.5/5) 3. CF Josh Miller (3/4) 4. RHP Jim Anderosn (1.5/4.5) 5. RHP Joe Helms (0.5/4.5) 6. RHP Joe Rendenbaugh (0.5/4.5) 7. RF Dan Comer (2/4.5) 8. RHP Jerry Brock (2/5) 9. RHP Mike Griffith (2/4) 10. RHP Chris Dorman (2/4.5) Looks like a lot of RHP talent according to OSA. My scout isn't the biggest fan of this class, although he loves Caleb Davis (5) and Jared Lackman (5), a pair of 18-year-old righties. Rice SP Jorge Mota (4), 3B Joe Reimer (4), and Canadian CF Teagan Reusch (4) are the next level. The third tier is SP Juan Mariscal (3.5), last year's 3rd overall pick and Mota's teammate Juan Maya (3.5), and RF Jon Sexton (3.5). If I don't get one of these guys, I might roll my pick over. Looking at my unsigned 2022 guys, here's where they are now: 5th Rounder: SS Arturo Sepulbeda (0.5/0.5) 9th Rounder: SS Shiloh Lias (0.5/0.5): Selected by the Mets in the 13th Round of the 2023 draft. 12th Rounder: 2B Sam Holt (0.5/0.5) 14th Rounder: 3B Steve Thompson (0.5/0.5): Selected by the Pirates in the 26th Round, the released. Signed with the Yankees, the released. Signed with Boston. 18th Rounder: C Jeff Bryant (0.5/0.5) 20th Rounder: 2B Jon Shelton (0.5/0.5) 23rd Rounder: C Josh Palmer (0.5/0.5) 27th Rounder: 2B Harland Jauregui (0.5/0.5) 28th Rounder: C Kevin Kendrick (0.5/0.5) 32nd Rounder: CF Brad Maynard (0.5/0.5) 33rd Rounder: SP Brad Roberts (0.5/0.5) 37th Rounder: LF Jon Dye (0.5/0.5): Selected by the Pirates in the 40th Round in 2024 and then released. 38th Rounder: SP Mike Wood (0.5/0.5) 39th Rounder: SS Kevin Charles (0.5/0.5) Chris Archer is out for the year with a torn ulnar collateral ligament. The Cardinals righty was 2-3 with a 6.43 ERA in a tough start to the year. Tommy Kahnle decided to retired after a torn labrum. He'll ginish his career with a 3.67 ERA and 1.28 WHIP in 564.2 innings. He struck out 702 and walked 253. The always injured Dylan Bundy is out for the year with a torn flexor tendon. The Dodger righty got hurt on rehab, and didn't pitch in the majors yet. We opened the series in Washington with Mike Soroka (1-3, 3.00 ERA, 1.36 WHIP) battling Jacob Heatherly (0-2, 5.09 ERA, 1.57 WHIP) as we looked to win the opener. The offense was pitiful, as we dropped the opener 2-0. Soroka allowed 4 hits and 2 runs in 7 innings with 2 walk and 2 strikeouts. Alpha Wuivers struck out 2 in the 8th. We had just three, singles for Soroka, Isaac Nunez, and Lazaro Armenteros. Mickey Moniak was 0-for-2, but walked twice. May 7th, 2025: Before the game started, I added a pair of catcher via trade for the DSL roster. I got Sergio Navarro from the Royals and Jorge Moreno from the White Sox. Two DSL players went to the Royals, three to the Sox. We looked to avoid dropping to .500 with Dinelson Lamet (3-0, 1.16 ERA, 0.87 WHIP) taking on Gage Hisz (3-0, 4.15 ERA, 1.35 WHIP). We shut the Nats out 3-0, but there was a vrey big loss... Lamet left after three with an injury, with the diagnosis pending. He tossed 3 innings with 3 hits, 2 walks, and 4 strikeouts. Marc Bjork got the win, going 2 innings with 2 hits and 2 strikeouts. Ernesto Estrella and Chasen Shreve earned their 5th holds, whil Jorge Moya got his 5th save. Ohtani was brilliant, 3-for-4 with a double, two homers, 2 runs, and 3 RBI's. He had all, but one of our hits, a single for Lazaro Armenteros, who was 1-for-3. May 8th, 2025: Dylan Cease was hurt on rehab, and tore his meniscus. He'll miss 4 months and will be placed on the 60-Day DL. We needed to win the series with Walker Buehler (3-0, 1.50 ERA, 0.83 WHIP) battling Cole Ragans (4-1, 2.58 ERA, 1.07 WHIP). We got 2 in the 8th and 1 more in the 9th to win the finale 5-2. Buehler went 6, allowing 3 hits, 2 runs, and 6 strikeouts, but got a no decision. Shreve got the win, allowing a walk and getting a strikeout in the 7th. Alpha Quivers got the hold with 2 strikeouts in the 8th, and Jorge Moya got 2 more strikeout sin the 9th for the save. Isaac Nunez was 2-for-4 with a two run homer. Mickey Moniak was 2-for-5 with a steal and run scored. Thomas Dillard was 1-for-3 with 2 RBI's and 2 walks. Austin Hendrick was 2-for-3 with a walk. Seth Beer was 1-for-4 with 2 runs and a walk. We get tomorrow off to head home before a nice little homestand. |

May 9th-May 15th
May 9th, 2025: We got today off, before the White Sox came to town for a quick two game set. We'd see Blake Bivens (2-2, 4.50 ERA) and Dakota Donovan (2-0, 0.96 ERA).
May 10th, 2025: Dinelson Lamet is headed to the DL for 2 weeks with a dead arm. I recalled Slade Cecconi, but Shoehi Ohtani would enter the rotation for now. We opened the series with former White Sox starter and #1 overall pick Jake Florence (2-2, 5.67 ERA, 1.48 WHIP) taking on Blake Bivens (2-2, 4.50 ERA, 1.27 WHIP). The Sox got four in the fourth, and we dropped the opener 6-3. Florence had a rought outing, 6 runs in 3.1 innings with 7 hits and 2 strikeouts. Marc Bjork tossed 3 shutout innings with a hit and 5 strikeouts. Deshawn Hardamon went 2-for-4 with a solo homer. Mickey Moniak was 1-for-3 with a run scoured, walk, and double. Craig Kimbrel recorded his 500th areer save, as the Red Sox beat the Diamondbacks 7-6. At 36, he ranks 3rd all time, and is still 152 saves behind Mariano Rivera. May 11th, 2025: We looked to avoid the quick sweep with Steve Paustian (0-3, 6.14 ERA, 1.67 WHIP) facing Dakota Donovan (2-0, 0.96 ERA, 0.75 WHIP). We got five in the third, to win the finale 8-1. Puastian went the distance, allowing the single run and 6 hits with 2 walks and 8 strikeouts. He was also 1-for-4 with a triple and run scored. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-3 with a double, 4 RBI's, and a sac fly. Mickey Moniak was 2-for-3 with a run scored, RBI, double, steal, hit by pitch, and sac fly. Thomas Dillard was 3-for-4 with a solo homer, double, and two runs scored. Austin Hendrick was 1-for-3 with a hit by pitch, 2 runs scored, and a steal. Twins LF Akil Baddoo was 5-for-5 in a 4-3 loss to the Yankees. The Brewers come to town for four, as we still sit three games out of first. We'd see Junior Fernandez (3-2, 4.09 ERA), Marcos Diplan (0-3, 8.75 ERA), Luis Aguilar (5-1, 3.00 ERA), and Bobby Nicholson (5-2, 3.70 ERA). May 12th, 2025: Down in AAA, 1B Ashton McGee was named American Confrence Player of the Week. The New Orleans lefty went 13-for-30 with 5 homers, 13 RBI's, and 5 runs scored. A level below, Jake Taylor won Southern League Player of the Week. The Jacksonville catcher hit .500 with a homer, 6 RBI's, and 3 runs scored. Go one more level down, and Greensboro SS Eddie Macl was South Atlantic Player of the Week. He was 9-for-22 with 2 homers, 4 RBI's, and 5 runs scored. Focusing back to the majors, we rank 11th in the Power Rankings with out 18-15 record. The series starter with Mike Soroka (1-4, 2.92 ERA, 1.27 WHIP) facing Junior Fernandez (3-2, 4.09 ERA, 1.27 WHIP). Soroka left with injury, but we escaped with a 7-5 win. Soroka went 6.2 innings with 7 hits, 3 runs, a walk, and 4 strikeouts. Chasen Shreve, Ernesto Estrella, and ALpha Quivers got holds, while Jorge Moya got the save. Shreve allowed a pair of solo homers and got just one out. Soroka was actually 1-for-2 with a solo homer and sacrafice bunt. Thomas Dillard was 2-for-4 with a three run homer and a double. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was 3-for-4 with a double, 2 runs scored, and a steal. Austin Hendrick was 2-for-4 with a double. May 13th, 2025: Soroka's tests were all negative, and he's good to resume play. Ohtani (0-0, 2.45 ERA, 0.95 WHIP) got his first start of the season against Marcos Diplan (0-3, 8.75 ERA, 1.69 WHIP). He definitely earned a second start, and we shut them out 8-0. Ohtani went 6, allowing just 2 hits and 2 walks with 8 strikeouts. The rest of the pen pitched 3 innings wiht a hit, 3 walks, and 7 strikeouts. Mickey Moniak was 2-for-5 with a double, run, RBI, and steal. Vlad Jr. was 2-for-5 with a 2-run homer and 3 total RBI's. Seth Beer was 2-for-4 with a solo homer, double, a walk, and 2 RBI's. Ohtani was 2-for-3 with a double, run scored, and RBI. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-3 with a walk, triple, and run scored. Austin Hendrick was 2-for-4 with a double, walk, 2 runs, and an RBI. Braves RF Alex Jackson hit three homers in a 24-2 domination of the Rockies. Giancarlo Stanton hit his 600th homer in a 10-7 win over the Royals. The Yankees' LF ranks 10th All-Time, 162 homers behind Bonds. May 14th, 2025: It took awhile, but CL Jandel Gustave finally signed a contract. He'll spend the rest of the year with the Orioles, and will make $26.6 million. The draft order is now also officilaly set. We looked to keep winning with Walker Buehler (3-0, 1.71 ERA, 0.79 WHIP) facing Luis Aguilar (5-1, 3.00 ERA, 1.26 WHIP). Both teams got two in the seventh, but we got one in the 2nd, so we finished the game 3-2 winners. Buehler left after 4 innings with a sore back, and will head to the DL for hopefully just the minimum. He allwoed 3 hits and got 6 strikeouts. Ramon Perez got a hold, pitching the 5th and 6th while striking out 2. Esterlla blew the save, 2 runs off a hit, walk, and a strikeout. Chasen Shreve finished the 7th to get the win. Quivers got the hold, Moya the save. Thomas Dillard was 3-for-4 with a solo homer and double. Perez the pitcher was 1-for-1 with a double. Isaac Nunez walked three times, scored, and stole a base, so he was officially 0-for-0. Mickey Moniak was 1-for-4 with an RBI. May 15th, 2025: Mason Barnett came off the DL, and I optioned him to AAA, instead of sending him on a rehab assignment. He's been out since June 6th, 2024 with a damaged Elbow Ligament. I also recalled Luis Ardon from AAA. Baltimore will be without SP Ariel Jurado for the rest of the year with a torn rotator cuff. He started the year 1-2 in 7 starts with a 5.23 ERA and 22 strikeouts. Slade Cecconi (0-0, 4.50 ERA, 1.00 WHIP) made his first start of the year to replace Buehler in the rotation. He'd face Thomas Jenkins (0-0, 7.11 ERA, 2.05 WHIP) who was also making his first start as we looked to finish the four game sweep. It was tied at three heading to the 9th, but Jorge Moya allowed a 2-run homer to Jhailyn Ortiz, as the Brewers took the finale 5-3. Cecconi went 4.2 innings, allowing 6 hits, 3 runs, and he got 6 strikeouts. Moya was charged with the 2 runs in the 9th, allowing a hit and walk. The middle four guys went 3.1 innings with 2 hits and 3 strikeouts. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-4 with 2 runs scored, a double, and a steal. Mickey Moniak was 1-for-2 with a RBI, double, and two walks. Austin Hendrick got a pinch hit RBI double in the eigth. While we couldn't pull off the sweep, we did have a solid 4-2 homestand, and will now head to Pittsburgh tied with Atlanta for the 1st Wild Card spot. The Pirates are a pitiful 10-27, so we have a shot to take at least three of the four on the road. We'd see Ken Haugen (2-4, 5.14 ERA), Jake Webb (0-1, 6.30 ERA) and Mitch Keller (0-7, 7.34 ERA), although the fourth starter has not been announced yet. |

May 16th-May 22nd
May 16th, 2025: Tanner Anderson of the Astros suffered bone chips in his elbow and will miss the rest of the year. He was 1-1 with a 7.39 ERA.
Giants CF Heliot Ramos will miss the rest of the season with a broken bone in his elbow. The 25-year-old was hitting .268 with 4 homers. We opened the series in Pittsburgh with Jake Florence (2-3, 6.82 ERA, 1.55 WHIP) taking on Ken Haugen (2-4, 5.14 ERA, 1.49 WHIP). It was a close one, and we were edged 2-1. Florence went 5.1 innings with 7 hits, 2 runs, 5 walks, and 6 strikeouts. Patrick Raby went 2.2 innings with 2 hits. Mickey Moniak was 1-for-4 with a solo homer. Seth Beer was 1-for-3 with a walk. May 17th, 2025: We couldn't afford to lose another game against this awful team, with Steve Paustian (1-3, 4.93 ERA, 1.49 WHIP) taking on Jake Webb (0-1, 6.30 ERA, 1.70 WHIP). Luckily, we didn't, and shut them out 4-0. Paustian went 7, allowing 4 hits and getting 7 strikeouts. Alpha Quivers struck out the side in the 8th, and also walked 1 hitter. Luis Ardon made his season debut, allowing a hit in the 9th inning. Seth Beer is attempting to raise his average over .200, and went 2-for-3 with a solo homer, walk, and 2 RBI's. Shoehi Ohtani was 2-for-4 with a double, run scored, and RBI. Mickey Moniak was 2-for-5 with a run scored. Lazaro Armenteros was 0-for-2, but waked twice and got a steal. May 18th, 2025: We looked to take control in the series with Mike Soroka (2-4, 3.09 ERA, 1.26 WHIP) facing Mike Keller (0-7, 7.34 ERA, 1.50 WHIP). Keller is much much better then the stats suggest, and he was great today, as we dropped another 6-2... Soroka allowed 10 hits, 6 runs (5 earned), 2 walks, and got 2 strike outs in 5.1 innings. The rest of the pen went 2.2 innings with 3 hits, 2 walks, and a strikeout. Vlad Jr. was 2-for-4 with a run scored and steal. Mickey Moniak was 1-for-4 with a run scored and double. Deshawn Hardamon was 2-for-3 with a walk. Seth Beer was 1-for-3 with a hit by pitch and RBI. May 19th, 2025: At 22-18, we remained 11th in the Power Rankings, but we should be in last after the last two games... Shoehi Ohtani (1-0, 1.35 ERA, 0.82 WHIP) took on Shane Baz (2-3, 4.07 ERA, 1.38 WHIP) as we looked to salvage a split against these awful Pirates. It was a tight one, but we survived enough to win 5-4. Ohtani had an interesting start, 4.1 innings with 4 hits, 4 runs, a walk, and an impressive 10 strikeouts. Ernesto Estrella got the win, 2 innings with a strikeout. Chasen Shreve got the hold and Jorge Moya the save. Deshawn Hardamon was 2-for-5 with a triple, homer, and 3 total RBI's. Mickey Moniak was 3-for-5 with a steal. Thomas Dillard was 3-for-3 with his 3rd steal of the year, 3 runs, an RBI, and a walk. Lazaro Armenteros was 2-for-4 with a steal. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-4 with an RBI and steal. We're off to St. Louis for three with the Cardinals, who are also terrible, and are 15-26. We'd see Alex Reyes (3-2, 3.63 ERA), Joe Ross (0-0, 3.38 ERA), and Eric Webster (1-3, 6.42 ERA). May 20th, 2025: Noah Syndergaard signed a massive extention with the Mets, agreeing to a 5-year, $213,500,000 contract that guarantees him $45 million the next two years. We opened up the series with the Cardinals with former Cardinal Slade Cecconi (0-0, 5.40 ERA, 1.20 WHIP) taking on Alex Reyes (3-2, 3.63 ERA, 1.16 WHIP). The bats showed up, and we rallied for 13 to take the opener 13-5. Cecconi went 5.1 innings, allowing 3 hits, a run, a walk, and getting 8 strikeouts. Bjork allowed a run in 2 innings with a hit, 3 walks, and 3 strikeouts. Ramon Perez allowed a run off a hit with a strikeout in 0.2 innings. Deshawn Hardamon was 2-for-3 with 2 walks, 2 homers, and 5 total RBI's. Vlad Jr. was 2-for-5 with 2 runs, 3 RBI's, and a homer. Seth Beer was 1-for-4 with a wlak, 2 runs, 2 RBI's, and a homer. Mickey Moniak was 3-for-4 with a walk, 2 runs, and a double. Shoehi Ohtani was 1-for-4 with a double, walk, and 2 runs. May 21st, 2025: We looked to keep winning with Jake Florence (2-4, 6.31 ERA, 1.65 WHIP) taking on Cristian Sanchez (3-1, 4.13 ERA, 1.41 WHIP). It was much closer today, but we won again, 5-3. Florence went just 4.2 innings with 5 hits, 2 runs, 3 walks, and 5 strikeouts. Marc Bjork got the win, 1.1 innings with 2 hits and 2 strikeouts. Chasen Shreve and Alpha Quivers got holds while Jorge Moya notched his 10th save. Quivers allowed a run with 2 hits in the 8th. Vlad had a great game, 4-for-5 with a solo homer and 2 runs scored. He's had a rough season, so hopefully this is a sign of better times for him. Mickey Moniak was 2-for-5 with a pair of doubles and an RBI. Isaac Nunez was 2-for-4 with a double, run scored, and RBI. Thomas Dillard was 1-for-4 with a run and walk. May 22nd, 2025: We looked to finish the sweep with Steve Paustian (2-3, 4.17 ERA, 1.35 WHIP) taking on Eric Webster (1-3, 6.42 ERA, 1.75 WHIP) in the finale. It got even clouser today, but we hung on for the 4-3 win. Paustian went 5 innings with 5 hits, a run, 5 walks, and 4 strikeouts. Estrella allowed 2 runs off 3 hits with a strikeout in an inning. Quivers got the win, Shreve a hold, and Moya a save. Vladdy was 2-for-4 with a solo homer. Shoehi Ohtani was 2-for-4 with a run scored, 2 RBI's, and a triple. Austin Hendrick was 2-for-4 with a double an run scored. Paustian himself was 1-for-2 with a run scored. We're headed back home to face the Cubs for three. For some reason, Michael Feliz (0-3, 6.00 ERA) is pitching the opener, followed by Jorge Flores (5-0, 2.93 ERA) and Pablo Ochoa (4-4, 2.83 ERA). Last edited by ayaghmour2; 06-25-2018 at 05:33 PM. |

May 23rd-May 29th
May 23rd, 2025: Dinelson Laet will head to AAA New Orleans to begin a rehab assignment.
Mike Soroka (2-5, 3.63 ERA, 1.37 WHIP) took on Michael Feliz (0-3, 6.00 ERA, 1.97 WHIP) in the opener back home. The team is really tired, and most of our bench is starting today. Even then, we shut the Cubs out 6-0. Soroka went 7.1 innings with 3 hits, a walk, and 2 strikeouts. He was also 1-for-3 with an RBI.Ramon Perez and Luis Ardon combined for 1.2 innings with a hit and 2 strikeouts. Seth Beer was 2-for-4 with a solo homer. Scott Kingery was 1-for-4 with a run scored, RBI, and double. Mickey Moniak was 2-for-4 with a run scored. Austin Hendrick was 1-for-4 with 2 RBI's. May 24th, 2025: The Rockies recieved RF Jordan Prendiz, RHP Eric Warren, and RHP Ben Hall from the Twins for SS Lucius Fox. I like the haul for the Rockies. Shoehi Ohtani (1-0, 3.06 ERA, 0.91 WHIP) got the start against Jorge Flores (5-0, 2.93 ERA, 1.12 WHIP) in the second game of the series. Our top three hitters are hot and the bottom three (not counting Ohtani) are cold. The Cubs got 4 in the eigth and evened the series with a 8-5 win. Ohtani was decent, 5 innings with a hit, 5 walks, and 6 strikeouts. Estrella allowed 2 in 0.2 innings with 2 hits and a strikeout. Patrick Raby allowed a run off 2 hits in 1.1 innings. Ben Popkin got the loss, 0.2 innings with 5 hits and 4 runs. Luis Ardon allowed a run in 1.1 innings with 2 htis and 2 strikeouts. Deshawn Hardamon was 2-for-5 with a double, homer, run, and 2 RBI's. Lazaro Armenteros was 1-for-4 with a double and 2 RBI's. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-4 with a double and run scored. Scott Kingery was 2-for-4 with a run scored and RBI. May 25th, 2025: Walker Buehler will begin rehab in AAA. He'd get 1 start before returning. The Twins traded RHP Joe LaBrie to the Mariners for 1B Andy Bostic and C Dominic Keegan. It's an even enough trade, although my former player in LaBrie is the best of the three. We looked to win the series before a much needed day off. Salde Cecconi (1-0, 3.75 ERA, 1.00 WHIP) took on Pablo Ochoao (4-4, 2.83 ERA, 1.01 WHIP) in the rubber match. The Cubs edged us 3-2 to finish the series. Cecconi allowed 2 runs in 5 innings off 4 hits and 6 strikeouts, Quivers got the loss, a solo homer and 2 strikeouts in the 8th inning. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was 2-for-4 with a solo homer and 2 runs scored. Mickey Moniak was 1-for-5 with a double. Isaac Nunez was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Shoehi Ohtani had a pinch hit double in the fifth. May 26th, 2025: Down in AAA, Juan Ramirez won Player of the Week, hitting .391 with 3 homers and 6 RBI's. We're up to 7th in the Power Rankings at 27-20 and 2 games out of first. SS Lency Delgado is out for the year with a torn latissimus dorsi muscle. He was hitting just .124 in 105 at bats this year. All-Star voting starts today, and the team could rest at home before hosting the Nationals for three. We'd see Jay Groome (2-5, 7.75 ERA), Jacob Heatherley (1-2, 4.91 ERA), and Gage Hinsz (5-1, 3.49 ERA). May 27th, 2025: Marcos Diplan is out for the year with a ruptured ulnar collateral ligament. He was having a rough year for Milwaukee, with 44 hits and 34 strikeouts in 30.1 innings to go with a 8.90 ERA and 0-5 record out of the pen. I optioned Ernesto Estrella to AAA and recalled Walker Buehler. The now rested team started the series hosting the Nationals with Jake Florence (2-4, 6.02 ERA, 1.66 WHIP) battling Jay Groome (2-5, 7.75 ERA, 1.84 WHIP). It was an awful game, and we dropped the opener 16-9. Florence allowed 3 runs in 5 innings with 7 hits and 2 strikeouts. I was afraid he's the one that did back, but luckliy it wasn't. Patrick Raby allowed 4 runs in 0.2 innings with 4 hits and got the loss. Luis Ardon allowed 2 runs and a hit without getting an out. Popkin allowed 2 runs, a hit, and a walk, without getting an out. Ramon Perez allowed 5 runs off 3 hits and 2 walks without getting an out. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-4 with a solo homer and sac fly. Seth Beer was 2-for-4 with a double, homer, walk, 2 runs, and 3 RBI's. Mickey Moniak was 3-for-5 with 2 triples, a double, 2 runs, and a RBI. Thomas Dillard was 1-for-5 with an RBI double. Isaac Nunez was 2-for-4 with a double and RBI. Shoehi Ohtani was 2-for-4 with a run scored. Side note: our entire division is over .500, with the last place Phillies 25-23. May 28th, 2025: A pair of players will be out for the year with injury. RHP Sean Hjelle stretched his elbow ligament and LHP Steve Atkins tore his labrum. We looked to bounce back with Steve Paustian (2-3, 3.93 ERA, 1.41 WHIP) taking on Jacob Heatherly (1-2, 4.91 ERA, 1.49 WHIP). We got 10 in the eigth after being down 3-2, and won 12-3. Paustian went 5.2 innings with 7 hits, 2 runs, 4 walks, and 7 strikeouts. Chasen Shreve allowed a run and didn't get an out, but allowed a hit.. Seth Beer was 3-for-4 with a RBI double and solo homer. Mickey Moniak was 2-for-5 with a run, 3 RBI's, a steal, and double. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was 3-for-5 with a steal, 3 runs, and an RBI. Shoehi Ohtani was 1-for-4 with a run scored, double, walk, and RBI. Deshawn Hardamon was 2-for-5 with a run. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-3 with a walk, run, RBI, and double. Freddie Freeman hit his 400th career hoemr as the Braves still fell to the Phillies 5-2. The 35-year-old is hitting .312/.411/.685 in one of, if not the best, season of his career. May 29th, 2025: The first round of All-Star voting has Thomas Dillard in first for catchers, Shoehi Ohtani first for RF, and Alpha Quivers 5th for relievers. We looked to win the series with Mike Soroka (3-5, 3.19 ERA, 1.26 WHIP) taking on Cole Ragans (5-2, 3.59 ERA, 1.30 WHIP) in the finale. Up 2-0 heading into the 9th, Jorge Moya allowed 3 runs and we trailed 3-2 heading to the bottom half. Austin Hedges hit a RBI double to tie the game. They got 1 in the top of the 10th, and we got 1 more in the bottom. In the 11th, Jon Reid singled and Austin Hendrick singled, and we had runners on first and third with no outs for Austin Hedges. Before throwing a pitch, Zach Pop attempted to pick off Hendrick, but the ball got away and Reid scored the winning run! Soroka was brilliant, 8 shutout innings with 4 hits, a walk, and 4 strikeouts. Moya allowed 3 runs on 3 hits with 2 walks and a strikeout. Alpha Quivers went 1.1 innings with 2 hits, a run, walk, and strikeout. Chasen Shreve got the win, an inning with a walk and strikeout. Deshawn Hardamon was 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles, a run, and RBI. Hedges had an RBI double in the 9th to bring the game to extras. Vlad Jr. was 3-for-5 with a run and RBI. Mickey Moniak was 2-for-5 with a run scored. Hendrick was 2-for-4 with a walk and run scored. It looks like Billy Burgess in A Greensboro's career is over, it did the gloomy "the results aren't back yet" injury rating when the diagnosis is still pending. Up next is a weird home-away with Boston. Starting with the home, we'd see Alfredo Rivera (2-5, 4.58 ERA) and Amari Ifill (0-1, 3.28 ERA). |

May 30th-June 5th
May 30th, 2025: We opened the home and away series with Boston with Walker Buehler (3-0, 1.57 ERA, 0.78 WHIP) facing Alfredo Rivera (2-5, 4.58 ERA, 1.38 WHIP). We scored 5 in the 8th and shut the Red Sox out 5-0.
Buehler went 6.2 innings and didn't allow a hit, while walking 5 and striking out 12, so I'm not too mad he got pulled during the no-hitter. Slade Cecconi went 1.1 innings, allowing the only hit, and getting 2 strikeouts. Ramon Perez pitched the 9th and struck out two. Thomas Dillard was 2-for-4 with a run scored and RBI. Mickey Moniak was 1-for-3 with a run scored, double, and walk. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-4 with an RBI double. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-3 with a double, run socred, sac-bunt, and RBI. May 31st, 2025: I was right, Burgess' injury was a career ender. He was our 6th Round pick back in 2020. The Blue Jays will be without RHP Jeremy Jeffress for the year with radial nerve compression. He had a very high 7.36 ERA in 26 relief apperaences through his aged 37 season. We looked to finish the first part of this series with Shoehi Ohtani (1-0, 2.38 ERA, 0.97 WHIP) facing Amari Ifill (0-1, 3.28 ERA, 1.46 WHIP). It was a close one, but we edged them 4-3, and Rhys Hoskins had all three of their RBI's. Ohtani went 5.2 innings, allowing 8 hits, 3 runs, 4 walks, and getting 8 strikeouts. Cecconi got the win, 1.1 innings with 3 strikeouts. Alpha Quivers got a hold and Jorge Moya the save. Seth Beer was 2-for-3 with a walk, 2-run homer, and 2 total runs scored. Thomas Dillard was 1-for-4 with a two run homer. Lazaro Armenteros was 1-for-2 with a walk and steal. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-3 with a steal. Austin Hendrick was 1-for-4 with a steal and run scored. We're off to Boston to face JoJo Romero (1-1, 2.82 ERA) and Wesley Scott (1-3, 3.92 ERA). June 1st, 2025: Game three was in Boston, and saw the struggling Jake Florence (2-4, 5.96 ERA, 1.63 WHIP) take on former Red Sox lefty JoJo Romero (1-1, 2.82 ERA, 1.07 WHIP). We scored five in the fifth and took this one 8-5. Florence went 5 innings with 4 hits, 3 runs, 3 walks, and 4 strikeouts. Patrick Raby allowed 2 runs and 4 htis in the 6th, btu also struck out the side. Chasen Shreve got a hold, 2 innings with 3 strikeouts, and Jorge Moya earned his 13th save. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was 3-for-5 with a 2-run homer and 2 runs scored. Austin Hedges was 1-for-4 with a two run homer. Seth Beer was 2-for-3 with a walk and three run homer. Mickey Moniak was 1-for-4 with a walk and steal. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-4 with a double, walk, and 2 runs scored. June 2nd, 2025: I opotioned Patrick Raby to AAA and recalled Dinelson Lamet from AAA. Seth Beer was named player of the week, hitting .524 with 4 homers and 11 RBI's as he's started to hit like the Beer of the last two years. At 32-21, we're all the way up to 3rd in the Power Rankings. We're now down just 1 of Atlanta, and look to finish the four game sweep. Steve Paustian (2-3, 3.86 ERA, 1.46 WHIP) took on Logan Shore (0-2, 5.35 ERA, 1.53 WHIP) in the finale. It took 12 innings, but Rodolfo Duran hit a walk-off two run homer and we lost 4-2. Paustian pitched well, 7 innings with 7 hits, 2 runs, 2 walks, and 6 strikeouts. Ben Popkin got the loss, allowing 2 runs, a hit, and walk in the 12th. Mickey Moniak was 3-for-5 with an RBI double. Lazaro Armenteros was 3-for-5 with a run scored. Jon Reid was 1-for-3 with a run, RBI, and sac bunt. Down in AAA, 3B Caleb Balgaard went 5-for-6 in a 14-1 win over the Dodgers. We're off to New York to face the Mets for three before the Amateur Draft. We'd face Michael Wacha (4-1, 2.24 ERA), Chris Sale (5-2, 3.19 ERA), and Noah Syndergaard (3-6, 2.70 ERA). June 3rd, 2025: I claimed a familiar face off waivers from the Phillies, SS Luis Padilla. He was part of the big Tyler Mahle trade, and currently rated a 1.5/3.5. I claimed him to hopefully send him back through waivers. He was hitting .267/.299/.533 and could use a little bit more seasoning in the minors. We opened the Mets series with Dinelson Lamet (3-0, 1.06 ERA, 0.94 WHIP) making his return to the rotation against Michael Wacha (4-1, 2.24 ERA, 0.97 WHIP). Armenteros is 8-for-20 agaisnt Wacha, so hopefully he can lead us to the win. We got three in the 7th to take the opener 6-2. Lamet went 7 innings with 3 hits, 2 runs, 2 walks, and 9 strikeouts. Alpha Quivers pitched the last 2 innings and got 2 strikeouts. Shoehi Ohtani went 2-for-4 with a 2-run homer, 2 runs, and a walk. Lazaro Armenteros was 2-for-4 with a RBI and steal. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-4 with a run scored and steal. Mickey Moniak was 1-for-4 with a run scored and walk. June 4th, 2025: Now tied with Atlanta for first, Mike Soroka (3-5, 2.81 ERA, 1.19 WHIP) took on Chris Sale (5-2, 3.19 ERA, 0.84 WHIP) as we looked to take it for ourselves. Soroka will have to avoid Gregorio Alvarenga, who's 18-for-41 against him. It was a rough outing for teh staff, as we dropped the middle game 14-4. Soroka allowed 5 runs in 3 innings with 9 hits, a walk, and 2 strikeouts. Marc Bjork was charged with 3 runs in 2 innings with 3 hits and 3 strikeouts. Ramon Perez allowed 4 (3 earned) in 1.1 innings with 2 hits, 2 walks, and 2 strikeouts. Ben Popkin allowed 2 runs in 0.2 innings with 2 hits, a walk, and a strikeout. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was 1-for-3 with 2 runs scored, a walk, and solo homer. Seth Beer was 1-for-4 with a 2 run homer. Lazaro Armenteros was 1-for-4 with a steal. June 5th, 2025: Fan vote update, Dillard tanks 1st for Catchers, Moniak third for CF, Ohtani leads RF, and Quivers 5th for RP. Still tied for first, we looked to win the series with Walker Buehler (3-0, 1.36 ERA, 0.78 WHIP) take on Noah Syndergaard (3-6, 2.70 ERA, 0.99 WHIP). The Mets got 4 in the 6th, and took the finale 7-5. Buehler allowed 3 runs in 3.1 innings with 3 hits, 2 walks, and 3 strikeouts. Slade Cecconi allowed 4 runs in 0.2 innings with 3 hits, a walk, and 2 strikeouts. Thomas Dillard was 1-for-4 with a two run homer. Mickey Moniak was 2-for-5 with a solo homer and 3 total RBI's. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-4 with a double and run scored. We got a day off tomorrow, but next comes the Amateur Draft! Last edited by ayaghmour2; 06-26-2018 at 09:20 AM. |
