The Red Sox walked off the Jays again, and this time it was even tougher as it was ex-Jay, Brian Anderson who struck the killing blow.

Boston won, 8-7.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Bo Bichette, Giancarlo Stanton, and Rafael Devers all homered for Toronto.

WP - Jordan Hicks (1-0)
LP - Eduard Bazardo (0-1)

Record - 63-49

The Red Sox now lead the Jays by one game.

The Umpires called the game in the 7th due to the heavy rain, and that MAY have saved the Jays as they had a tight, 6-5 lead at the time.

Giancarlo Stanton went 3 for 4 with a home run.

Today's win means the Jays and Red Sox leave their series in a tie atop the AL East.

WP - Justin Wilson (2-0)
Save - Kasey Kalich (1)
LP - Michael Kopech (0-1)

Record - 64-49

Zach Davies pitched the Jays to a solid, 6-1 win over the Guardians.

Austin Meadows homered for Toronto.

WP - Zach Davies (9-9)
Save - Kasey Kalich (2)
LP - Juan Mejia (7-7)

Record - 65-49

Boston also won so it is still a tie.

A 9th inning, pinch hit home run by Diego Cartaya made it interesting, but the Guardians still won, 4-2, over the Jays.

WP - Zach De La Garza (5-12)
Save - Matt Cronin (17)
LP - Casey Kelly (7-4)

Record - 65-50

The Jays now trail the Red Sox by one game.

Whit Merrifield came and asked to talk about a contract extension, and while he is absolutely worth keeping around, it would take a hefty increase (he currently makes $6.5M and is looking for multiple years at $21M), and we don't have the budget room for it.
