My "bullying" of PAM during the early years of this league seems to have worked because the predictions these past few times have been much more reasonable
![]() Even the Jamaica Plain prediction is nice for flavor and you have to have something to keep the spice. Can't complain, though of course it probably won't 100% shake out as predicted, but at least it's closer than the first few ones were. Though OOC I've noticed OOTP 22 (and I presume 23, still haven't gotten to 23 much yet) seem to have a much better pre-season prediction model than 21 did. In 21, the predictions were nearly always the exact opposite of what would wind up happening... much like PAM's early predictions

I want to go out on a limb and state that she will have at least two league champions wrong this season. I foresee some surprises, at least I hope so!

Standings Team Power Rankings Weekly Team Power Rankings: Here are the current team power rankings for Commonwealth Baseball Organization: Analysis The first week of the 2302 season is complete, and there are no winless or lossless teams. While some all teams are "in it," they are not all going to "win it." Despite the final scores, there are some indicators of teams that will be the greatest forces for the 2302 season. # 1 University Point - They started the season with a 5-3 loss to Oberland (#13), but then they went on to win the rest of their games for a 4-1 start. Amazingly, it has not been easy for being the #1 team. In the four-game road stretch in four days with the T-51s and Roxbury (#14), the Deathclaws had to win three straight in extra innings. They finished the week with an 8-2 home win over Vault 81 (#19) to finally rest some of their bullpen. #2 - FHE - With a four-game home stretch to start the season and a chance to avoid the Claws, the Yao Guai also went 4-1 on the week with a slew of close games. While they easily swept Warwick (#21) by two and three runs, the Yao Guai split with Atom (#12) with each game's score being 3-2. They then finished the week with an 11-inning, 4-3 win over Jamaica Plain (#11). #3 - Fort Hagen - The Silver Shroud had a 4-1 week, though the one loss, a 7-0 defeat at the hands of Easy Town (#22) had to displease them. Still, they were excited with a sweep of County Crossing (#20), perhaps the most surprising team to struggle in Week 1. They split with the Trons and then won 8-4 at Salem (#24). #4 - Abernathy - The Adamantium never won by more than two runs in their season-opening sweeps of the Assaultrons and The Slog (#16). They then finished the week with a 4-2 loss at the Bloodbugs, ending their 4-game winning streak and the Bugs' 4-game losing streak. #5 Concord - Like the Adamantium, the Radstags started the season 4-0 before dropping their Sunday game. The Stags had home sweeps over Nordhagen Beach (#8) and the Witch Hats, winning at most by two runs. They then lost by two to the Finch Farm Four Leafs (#7). Highs: Diamond City (#9) won three games on the week by scoring double digits. They won once over the Red Rockets, 14-1, and then followed up the next day with a 10-1 win over Warwick. The Swatters then finished the week with a 13-2 Sunday win at Goodneighbor. Lows: Starlight (#23) may have a chance to return to the playoffs, but they certainly did not look that way in the first week. The Lady Killers were slaughtered in their first game, 16-7, to the Ghouls. In their 1-4 week, they also dropped consecutive three-run games to the Party Boys and then lost again to The Slog in 11 innings. Rough Starts: The Mirelurks' SP Brian Bridges started two games this week, going 0-2. If you think that means he had a terrible pitching week, well, you're wrong. The Lurks ace pitched 11.2 innings in his two starts, allowing four earned runs for a 3.09 ERA. He also struck out 17 batters in those two games for the early CBO lead in strikeouts and K/9. He also joins Easy Town's Lannie Tykeson and Quincy's Joey Dimes for the most current losses in the CBO. Rougher Starts: Speaking of Tykeson, he had a miserable first week for his 2302 season. The two-way player was 0-2 in his two starts, allowing 10 earned runs in 13.1 innings pitched (6.75 ERA) with six walks and 11 strikeouts. He was also 2 for 17 (.118) on the week with a double, three walks, a run, and an RBI. Despite his underperformance of the week, Tykeson was able to pitch all eight innings of the first game, allowing the bullpen some early rest. They have a nice visual appeal, though some attachments gone forever bug could wipe them out.
If time were not a factor, I might do daily score posts. Also, as a time-saver, I was debating whether to use charts, screen cap scores, or do something else like this: Games 1 and 2 County Crossing at Fort Hagen - 5-7, 1-2 Goodneighbor at Rox - 9-6, 4-6 The thing is, when I did post daily scores, I found I cared little for knowing the scores and paid more attention to looking at the standings changes each week. So, I will probably stick with the charts instead of individual scores.

Standings Team Power Rankings Weekly Team Power Rankings: Here are the current team power rankings for Commonwealth Baseball Organization: Analysis Two weeks in, and now we can see a little separation between the haves and the have nots. Concord (#1) appears to be the top among the haves, while Oberland (#24) are the nots. The Stags showed that have mentality by going 4-1 against the Brotherhood League for the second straight week. The T-51s followed up a 2-3 week with an 0-5 one against Minutemen League. There are some other trends, some surprises both good and bad, and some shake ups in lineups. Let's start with the Power Five. #1 Concord - As mentioned, the Stags come in as the number one team this week with the CBO's best record. Concord jumped up four spots from last week, showing consistency so far. The Stags started the week by defeating Finch Farm (#14) and then swept Easy Town (#23) and split with County Crossing (#19). Several Stags players are hitting lights out, led by LF Dan Erb (.324/3/8) and RF Gene Leftswipe (.378/0/3/2 SB). #2 University Point - The Deathclaws have yet to lose a series against the Railroad League, but they have split 3 of 5, leading to a 3-2 week this week to drop them out of the top spot. The Claws completed their sweep of Vault 81 (#18), which got good news that their star Aesed Hayjen is on his way back from injury soon. University Point then split series with Egret (#21) and Diamond City (#13). The Claws' pitching has been pretty bad, currently 11th in the SCA in Starters ERA (4.85). Star 1B Barker Cocoa has struggled to get on base outside of power hits (.233/3/8). If those two factors improve, the Deathclaws could run away with the SCA much like Nordhagen Beach did last season in the NCA. #3 - FHE - The Yao Guai did not do quite as well as last week, going 3-2, but they did only drop a spot as they maintain a tie for the SCA's best record. FHE started and ended the week with losses--Jamaica Plain (#8) and Quincy (#11)--but had three wins in a row midweek, including a sweep of Goodneighbor (#10) and a split with the Gunners. Pitching has been the key to the Radbears' success, especially ace Bow Rome (1-0, 0.90) who has allowed only two earned runs in 20.0 IP but has not had much run support from a team that is tied for 7th in the SCA in runs scored (42). #4 Nordhagen Beach - The Party Boys enter the Top 5 after starting 8th the first week, going 4-1 in Week 2. The Boys completed a weep of Lexington (#9), swept Fort Hagen (#6), and then split with Abernathy (#5), dropping the Sunday game to end their seven-game winning streak. Like last year, the Boys' success begins with their pitching, which is just as spectacular as ever with the least runs allowed (29), third-best Starters ERA (3.23), and top Bullpen (0.98) where they have only allowed three earned runs on the season so far. Ace Beachboy Nut (2-0, 2.81) had one "bad" game against Lexington where he gave up four earned runs in a win. He followed that up by holding the Adamantium to six hits and an earned run in 8.0 IP. #5 - Abernathy - After starting 4-0, the Adamantium have now lost 4 of 6, but BNN has them #5 in the Power Rankings because . . . ? We writers do not get to make all the decisions, but we can talk about what Abernathy is doing right, winning games they should not. First, for the week, they went 2-3, with both wins being shutouts. They started the week by being swept in a completed series against County Crossing (#19), split at Salem (#15), and then split with the Boys in two pitchers' duels. The team is tied for 10th in runs scored (39) and 6th in runs allowed (38), indicating they should be below .500. SP Brad Westing (1-0, 3.21) has been their best player. Highs: Roxbury (#12) went 3-2 on the week to be 5-5 after the first two weeks. Those wins include completing a sweep of Warwick (#16), splitting with Jamaica Plain (#8), and splitting with Atom (#7), all on the road. Even better is that they got ace Nuke Laloosh back from his opening day injury. He pitched well in his one game back, allowing two earned runs in 6.0 IP against the Red Rockets in a no-decision Rad Sox loss. Lows: County Crossing (#19) was PAM's pick to be the NCA's second-best team after the Party Boys. Instead, they are sitting at 4-6 with a recurring problem each game: they cannot score. This week they went 3-2, but those wins all came when they scored five runs--5-3 over Abernathy, 5-3 over Sunshine Tidings, and 6-3 over Concord. Those are the only three of the four games they have scored five runs all season, including an opening day 7-5 loss to Fort Hagen. Their one other win was a 4-2 victory over the Adamantium. Because of this scoring difficulties, the Bugs are 12th in runs scored (32) and surviving by being 2nd in runs allowed (30). SP Whip Lashley (1-0, 1.57) has been stellar but also has two no decisions thanks to a lack of run support. Six of eight of County Crossing's batters are batting below .200, including their first four hitters in the lineup: Ajani Peacock (.163/0/0), Taygun Topaloglu (.103/0/2), Babs Rooth (.194/3/7), and Cy Thompson (.114/1/3). Biter Trout (.333/0/3) and Long Hall (.324/3/8) are the only two players hitting well. Bats out of Hell: Someone had better let the Atom Cats' SS Jake Doucette know that he is not supposed to be this good. He was the 3rd overall pick in the 2297 CBO Rookie Draft, but he is looking like an MVP this season. Doucette currently leads the CBO in Batting Average (.514), OBP (.571), Slugging (.919), OPS (1.490), WAR (1.3), Hits (19), Doubles (tied with 6), Total Bases (tied with 34), OPS+ (287), and wOBA (.625). He is also second in extra-base hits (9), and third in ISO (.405). Bats out of Hell II: Not that he has not been a good player in the past, but The Slog's LF Chris Van Benschoten is playing above his level to start the 2302 season. The former Vault 81 pick in the 2296 Inaugural Draft (14th round) currently leads the NCA in Batting Average (.450), Slugging (.775), OPS (1.286), WAR (1.1), Hits (18), Runs (12), Total Bases (31), and wOBA (.549). He is also tied for 2nd in home runs (4), 5th in OBP (.511), tied for 6th in stolen bases (2), 2nd in OPS+ (237), and 4th in WPA (0.61). And he bats 7th in the lineup for the NCA's top offense!!! Minor League Report BMU Standings Players of the Week CA: SS Mike McDonie, Malden (CC), 4/7 (.571), 3 HR, 5 RBI MA: LF Kern Rifleman, Cabot House (Atom), 12/17 (.706), 2 HR, 8 RBI, 8 R GBRL Standings Players of the Week NL: CF Toppie Gunn, Sanctuary Hills (LEX), 9/14 (.643), 2 HR, 6 RBI SL: RF Vince Eller, Atomatoys Factory (DC), 6/14 (.429), 4 HR, 7 RBI

It's of course too early to really say anything at all, but this is quite the interesting rankings given historical conditions. Won't muse on it too long, though, because, again, it's way too early to really tell anything.
Also I appreciate the important transactions in red. Sometimes it can be hard to pick out certain things in the wall of text, but of course the wall of text is good for completeness. |

Yeah, he was traded to Lexington after demanding to start and not being granted that possibility by the Ghouls. What I don't understand is why Lexington wanted him when they already had SEVEN other starting-quality pitchers on their team. They may make move later in the season, but for now McBourbon appears to be stuck in the bullpen. Well, he's on the IR for now, along with two starters, Zach DiGrande and Jaa Thirtysix, both of whom may end up in Union Hope after they get off the IR.
Lexington could be a contender this season, so that's why I think they will start selling off pitchers to get bats at positions 2-6. Their only heavy hitters are in the outfield and their offense shows it, currently tied for 19th in the entire CBO in runs scored while 5th in runs allowed.

April 2302 Youth Leagues
BNN Youth Leagues Monthly Report This Month in the BYDL, CCYL, and PJPL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 14 April 2302 Boston Youth Development League Standings Two teams, the Concord-Lexington Minuteboys and the Boston Common Baby Bellies, exit the first week of the season undefeated and they may be built to continue winning. Con-Lex of the North Region piled through both the Beantown Sprouts and Beerthirty Sippers on their way to a 6-0 start. 3B Plain Morris led the way offensively and earned Player of the Week honors. He is accompanied by a few other players having a hot first week, including C Jaylen Benson (.421/1/9), RF Cool Carl Davis (.375/3/8), and CF Mr. Clean Broadwater (.391/1/2). Starters have yet to have any decisions, but the Minuteboys have punished the opposing teams' bullpens, helping RP Windy Kim (3-0, 8.31) to have half of the team's wins. In the South Region, the Baby Bellies beat up on the Thompson Heights Earthlings and the winless Circle Jerks. Some of the players off to a good start are RF Chris Whichard (.533/1/5), CF Mark Piddlstick (.370/1/7), and 1B Amazing Jeremy Grace (.360/1/6). Starting pitching has been outstanding with SP Clueless Gunsmith (2-0, 1.72) leading the way along with SP Tony Stagl (1-0, 1.80). Top Performers NR: 3B Plain Morris, Concord-Lexington, 12/25 (.480), 3 HR, 7 RBI SR: RF Magnum Peaeye, Diamond City, 12/25 (.480), 5 HR, 18 RBI, 8 R

Slightly off topic, but a few hours ago I saw some Topps Heritage cards at the store and got a Richard Nixon baseball card now... I feel as if that's something straight out of the Fallout universe so just had to share.

It's too bad that the Fallout universe did not better flesh out the key government figures for pre-War as canon. All we know for the President of the U.S. is that Fallout calls him "The Last President." Fallout 3 had John Henry Eden as an in-game "president," which was a great part of the game. It also had the museum that could've and should've helped build the divergence timeline better. I see Fallout 76 fleshed out some wartime political figures, so I may need to work in some historical figures. And, of course, I can make up my own history based on "findings" in the Boston Public Library. Dusting off pre-War books and restoring as much as possible the burnt and destroyed books could be a huge portion of fleshing out my universe more. Or a new Fallout game can come out somewhere around 2030 and actually have some of the pre-War canon intact.

April 2302 - Season Pass Association
14 April 2302 ---------------------------------------------------------- Nuka News Update Reporting on the NWL, NWLB, and APYL Leagues by Evan Guy 2302 NWL Outlook With just one week to go until the 2302 Nuka World League season begins its regular season, we wanted to take a look at what to expect. Please see the bottom of this posting for a full list of the rated Top Players and Top Prospects in the NWL entering the 2302 season. Teams to Watch By our BNN-based calculations, four of the eight NWL teams have legitimate shots to win the 2302 Nuka Series. There have been three different champions in the first three years of the NWL: the Quartz Star Force over the Cherry Ghoulrillas in 2299, the Quantum Nukalurks over Cherry in 2300, and the Grape Painted Ghouls over the Orange Tourists in 2301. This season, the currently calculated most likely scenario is the Victory Cave Crickets over the Nukalurks. Victory: The Cave Crickets' best weapon is the former CBO pitcher, John Diner. While his record with the Crickets dropped from 13-2 in 2300 to 9-7 last season, he has led the NWL in ERA in his first two seasons (2.24 and 2.97, respectively) and WAR (4.6 and 4.5). Assuming the 34-year-old can remain healthy all year, he is projected to be 13-5 with a 3.33 ERA and finish third in strikeouts with 109. In addition to Diner, Jesse Emacipated is expected to finish 10-8 with a 3.40 ERA and lead the NWL in strikeouts with 120. Victory also has three of the top five projected batters in RF Sam Noob (.335/24/71), 1B Settler Colon (.357/16/51), and 3B Spratt Turnpike (.348/13/50). Quantum: The Nukalurks are expected to be the overall best pitching squad despite not having the two best pitchers. Still, they have two really good top starters projected in David Strickland (9-7, 3.10) and Roger Carlson (8-4, 2.89). They also have the top closer in Owen X, who has moved from a mid-level starting pitcher to a potential dominant closer. RP Lackadaisical Macnamara is expected to also be a huge addition to the bullpen in 2302 after being cut by the Nordhagen Beach organization of the CBO. RF Eric Streetwalker (.348/13/60 in 2301) is expected to lead the offensive charge, along with SS Tyler Williams and CF Jason Brown. Veteran Players to Watch Two aged veterans and two young guys are rated among the best hitters in the NWL. Wild's 3B Ryan Bobb may be the best of the bunch. The 32-year-old was only able to play in 36 games in 2301 due to injury, but in that time he hit .427 with two home runs and 14 RBI. While he does not have much pop to his bat, he does find ways to get on base and his glove is solid. Other top-rated players include the Gatorclaws' 22-year-old 1B Mark Worth who came over from the Fort Hagen organization after being cut and 22-year-old Tourists' LF Tom Mastodon (.323/0/3 in seven games in 2301), who sat out most of his NWL premier year with a severe knee injury after being a former starter with the CBO's County Crossing organization, and 29-year-old RF David Lockpick (.333/6/14 as a reserve in 2301). Most of the top pitchers were named above, but also look out for Orange's Bull Johnson who went 8-3 with a 3.39 ERA in 2301 and led the NWL in WHIP (1.23) and K/9 (9.5). Prospects to Watch The top three prospects for 2302 are Quantum's CF Kell Leek, Wild's C Soup Roper, and the Gatorclaws' CL Will Wylde. Leek is a great defensive outfielder for the Nukalurks organization but he needs to work more in getting on base. In two seasons with the Quantum B team (now the Nuka Bottling Plant Pack), Leek batted only .191 in 143 starts. He is expected to make a jump in 2302 but may still need time to find his bat. Roper looked a bit better after being traded in 2301 from the Atom Cats to the Gatorclaws. He was batting a decent .264 with a .342 OBP with the Medford Medics of the CBO's GBRL team. In 9 games with Wild B (now the Safari Adventure Gazelles), he batted .385 and had an OBP of .467. Wylde was also traded from the Cats to the Gatorclaws in the same trade that brought them Roper. He only pitched two games with Wild, going 1-0 with a 2.57 ERA. In 10 starts with the Cabot House Rayguns (now Triggermen) of the BMU, he went 4-3 with a 6.15 ERA. Vim! View Veracious, Vivacious, Vainglorious Vision of the Vim! Leagues by Vikky Vail Standings Analysis For the first week of the season, six teams had winning weeks, while the other four did not. The voluminous uniforms offset by the voluminous outputs have led to voluminous excitement in the Vim! League world. Tied with 134.6 points in the Power Rankings, both the Dalton Farm Fog Crawlers and Echo Lake Harbormen look to be the top two teams of the Harbor Division and Fog Division, respectively. Both are at 5-2 and matched only by the Acadia Acadians in wins. The Fog Crawlers split their first series with the Rayburn Point Patcheyes 2-2 before winning the first three of a scheduled four-game series against the Brooke's Head Behemoths. Both the Behemoths and Patcheyes currently sit at 2-5 in the standings. Dalton Farm's James Darling had the best first week of the season for his team, batting .440 with 4 home runs and 5 RBI. For the Harbormen, they started with a four-game split with the defending champions, the Far Harbor Ghoul Whales. They then won their first three games of a four-game series over the Patcheyes to cap off the seven-game week. Berg Poppy and Zane Blaze each went 2-0 and hold ERAs of 1.12 and 1.50, respectively. Echo Lake also currently leads the VL in runs scored (45), averaging 6.43 per game. All but one regular is hitting over .300 right now with 2B Cory Schwager batting .462 to start. Player of the Week SS Mittens McIntyre, Eden Meadows Anglers, 13/23 (.565), 1 HR, 3 RBI MDIL Standings

Settlements Today
Today in the CBO Settlements Today by Nat Wright-Kowalski 20 April 2302 - Lynn Woods The earth, it seems, has many years before it will recover in full greenery. While the CBO sports "the glory of green" through the mini-GECKs, most of the Commonwealth is still endless brown. That is the case for Lynn Woods, which the Boston Public Library has taught me. Nellie Rogers' poem from nearly 400 years ago expresses that sentiment: "The White Birch" The beautiful white birch grew tall and straight, ‘Till it seemed to reach the “Golden Gate.” And the story it told to its sister pines Was filled with melody and wondrous chimes. It told of the sky’s each varying hue; It told of the beauties of nature too; And the tale was wafted to you and me, While borne by the wind from tree to tree. Breeds Pond There are no white birches in Lynn Woods these days, but there is life. And that matters. The petrified forest still stands tall, offset by several large "ponds." Birch Pond sits to the southwest side, Breeds Pond is on the southeast side, and (a different) Walden Pond is on the north side. In the middle of Lynn Woods, you can find the one settlement that serves as an employees village for those employed at the one Commonwealth prison, Parsons State Insane Asylum. The entrance to Parsons State Insane Asylum The Lynn Woods settlement is still among the simpler settlements of the Commonwealth. Where Diamond City thrives with lights and thrills, the lone sounds of Lynn Woods is the whirring of generators and the sometimes distant roars of deathclaws in the mountainous areas to the northwest. I visited the multi-cabined facility for visitors, appropriately named the Lynn Woods Retreat. It consists of a singular common lodge and a bevy of wooden shacks arranged in a circle. To the southwest, there is the settlement of mostly wooden shacks with a few built up with scrap metal and chunks of other junk found strewn around the woods. Though there are remnants of stone blocks available from Dunwich Borers, few have made the effort to move any of the large blocks to the woods. Lynn Woods Retreat Common Area. Why no deathclaw mounted? The retreat's proprietor is Bucky Clawscratch. He tells everyone who visits him about the time a deathclaw got the jump on him and scratched him across the chest before being scared away by a mininuke explosion nearby. He says that deathclaws are often a nuisance because they can come from any direction. Bucky also tells of the siren atop the always-guarded tower meant to repel the deathclaws. Bucky makes Lynn Woods sound like the most dangerous place in the area, and he may be right. I took a stroll to and atop the tower. There Captain Aygodda Morningwood greets me. She has a large laser sniper rifle pointed in the direction of the mountains. The Stone Tower "Ain't gotta worry about the raiders out here," she exclaims. "Too afraid of our horny friends." Those "friends," of course, are deathclaws. Morningwood tells that she has sniped eight deathclaws in a year. I ask why the settlement has not built a wall or at least upped the security with turret towers. "Ain't too pretty when you look like the rest of the places," she says. She spits a loogy over the top of the tower and watches it down as it nearly hits a bystander below. "Besides, I got the best gun in the Northeast." She laughs, black teeth greeting me. I make my way down and stroll through the crowded paths. While I had planned to explore the three ponds, I stick to the edge of Breeds Pond just beyond the tower. Deathclaws do not come from this direction, so the west side is not where I plan to walk. A group of children all below 10 are playing baseball on this day. They are planning to be part of a group traveling to nearby Lynn near the coast, the former town that supported the Lynn Woods tourist industry pre-War. The two teams from the GBRL, the Lynn Woods Bloatflies and the Lynn Fortune Finders are set to play a four-game series this week from April 21-23 with two games set for the 23rd. I walked to the baseball facility, which is secured by security gates and a few turrets on the northwest side of the field. The coaches were going over lineups when I arrived, so I chatted with them a while. They are manager Carlos Mungo, pitching coach Tony Carmen, and hitting coach Pat Gallahan. Mungo played for Goodneighbor in 2296 and 2997 as the starting catcher and then moved to Roxbury in 2298 and 2299. He called it quits following the 2299 season at the age of 38. "Couldn't hit no more," he said, "and my knees were hurting." As a player, he hit .243 for his career with 9 home runs and 68 RBI. He started 116 games in two seasons with the Hancocks and one game with 22 appearances in two seasons with the Rad Sox (then called the Knuckle Punchers). He decided to train to be a coach, where he was named manager of Lynn Woods in 2301. Mungo spoke of the baseball team. "It's quiet out here, so the players can focus on baseball. We think that's going to help them when they get to County Crossing." The Bloatflies are the rookie league affiliate of the Bloodbugs in the CBO. As far as the Lynn Woods team, what were they doing if not at the park? Collecting mutfruits for the caravan trip to Lynn. "It doesn't hurt to remind them of not wanting to be in Parsons, ever," Mungo laughed. They get to hear all the stories from the people who work there and hang out in the Limping Claw's Tavern. Parsons State Insane Asylum, now the Commonwealth's maximum-security prison I knew I had to be on my way this morning to be able to make it back to Diamond City for tomorrow's version of the BNN Weekly Report. Still, I could only look around Lynn Woods and imagine the "melody and wondrous chimes" of the past, a time when the land was more colorful and giant beasts did not patrol the mountains. The "beauties of nature" will come back one day. I do not know if it will be in my lifetime, but I would love to see nature recover and those tall white birches blooming, singing with the wind whipping through their leaves. Standings Team Power Rankings Weekly Team Power Rankings: Here are the current team power rankings for Commonwealth Baseball Organization: Analysis We are 15 games into the 2302 season, and there is some distance starting to take place already. In the Minutemen League, the University Point Deathclaws (#1) are already 8 games up on the Warwick Mirelurks (#24). Six of the 24 teams have won 10 or more, with the Claws leading the way with a two game lead on the other five 10-game winners. Four teams have already dropped 11 games. Now, let's take a look at the Power Rankings. #1 University Point - With a 5-0 week and a current six-game winning streak, the Deathclaws are already starting to flex their muscles. UP won two games at FHE (#3) in the midweek and then opened league play by sweeping Quincy (#18). Kory Richardson (.367/4/12), Tomas Jones (.327/4/14), and Barker Cocoa (.277/5/14) are all hitting well. While the starting lineup has not been great so far, the bullpen has the top ERA in the SCA (2.72). #2 Atom - The Cats were 4-1 on the week, splitting at Diamond City (#7) and then sweeping Warwick (#24) on the road. Atom's top three pitchers are dominant--Scruff Taguchi (3-1, 2.89), Deedee Martinson (2-1, 2.52), and Pete Pembroke (2-0, 1.32). Hitting is not spectacular, but do not tell that to SS Jake Doucette (.414/3/12). #3 FHE - The Yao Guai are consistently winning most of their games each week on their way to a 10-5 record. Atfer being swept in two games by the Deathclaws, FHE answered with a league-opening Railroad League sweep of Vault 81 (#19). Interestingly, the Radbears are middle of the pack in both hitting and pitching statistics, but they are pulling out wins. Pistol Schmidt (.293/5/14) leads the team overall in hitting, while Bow Rome (1-0, 1.44) is getting a lot of no decisions. #4 Nordhagen Beach - The Boys are atop the NCA right now, tied with both Abernathy (#6) and Concord (#5) with a 10-5 record. On the week, Nordhagen Beach went 3-2 with a road split at Sunshine Tidings (#16) and a 2-1 series win at Finch Farm (#17), but they probably hoped they would have an even better week. Hitting has been pretty low in the NCA, but LF Michael Fogcrawler (.340/5/12) and CF Maxx Murtagh (.283/5/9) have shown their star power. Beachboy Nut (3-0, 2.25) and Matt Ranger (2-0, 2.25) are both undefeated and pitching well, while Tommy Beach (1-0, 5.47) is undefeated and not pitching well. Chet Arthur (1-3, 3.04) is pitching well but not finding enough run support to win. #5 Concord - After two 4-1 weeks, the Stags came back down, dropping 3 of 5 games on the week to move from 1st to 5th in the Power Rankings. The Radstags started the week with a split versus County Crossing (#10) and then losing 2 of 3 at home against the Adamantium. Concord is still a good around team that hits--led by LF Dan Erb (.370/3/15)--and pitches--led by Emperry Alizm (3-1, 2.42). Highs: Abernathy (#6) - We stated that the Adamantium would start to fall since their wins have been statistical anomalies. Instead, they went 4-1 on the week, only dropping their Sunday game to Concord to break up their 5-game winning streak. Lows: Diamond City (#7) - They are not really low, just below PAM's 15-game mark prediction by three games. PAM feels that the Swatters should currently hold the CBO's best record. Instead, they currently sit at a game behind FHE for the RL lead and three games behind University Point. Who Is This Guy? - Roxbury LF Young Goodman is in his 5th season as a member of the Rad Sox, but some people may still not know him. The former 3rd-round pick of the 2296 Rookie Draft, Goodman is atop several statistical categories in the CBO, including Slugging (.833), OPS (1.296), WAR (1.3), Total Bases (50), Extra-Base Hits (13), and OPS+ (231). Who Is That Guy? - He's in his second year as a starter on a bad team so his win totals may not reflect it, but Finch Farm SP Trolley Dodge is looking great early in the 2302 season. With a 2-2 record and a 2.01 ERA in four starts, Dodge has shown so far that he can pitch with the best of them. Originally chosen in the 5th round of the 2297 Rookie Draft by Diamond City, Dodge has worked his way up through the minors before getting his shot last season. The only statistic in the CBO is currently leads is K/9 (10.9), but the Four Leafs hope they have seen glimpses of something special in Dodge. April 2302 Youth Leagues
BNN Youth Leagues Monthly Report This Month in the BYDL, CCYL, and PJPL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 21 April 2302 Boston Youth Development League Standings A week ago, the Concord-Lexington Minuteboys were the lone undefeated team in the North Region. This week, they aren't even in first place. That belongs to the Kendall Hospital Yahoos, who went 5-1 for the second-straight week to move to 10-2 and first place atop the North Region. The Yahoos started with a two-game sweep at Wattz, split a series versus North Charles Banks, and then swept the Lynn Gamers to finish the week. With the top-scoring offense and holding opponents to the fewest runs, you can see why they are the best team in the NR. 3B Kevin Hill is batting .419, while 1B Vodka Zuskin (.282/4/12) has proven to be the best all-around hitter. On the mound, Harley Buechel (3-0, 2.70) is leading the charge. In the South Region, the Boston Common Baby Bellies are still the top team, though they did drop three games this week. Coming up behind them are the Samuel Morse Division's State House Orphans at 8-4. The Orphans lead the SR in runs scored with 118 in just 12 games. Freshman 1B Syd Thriftstore is a big reason why, hitting .388 with 8 home runs and 23 RBI. 3B Marc Giddens (.413/6/17) and RF Victor Desire (.370/6/15) are also helping this powerful group of Orphans. Top Performers NR: RF Nathan Hellelf, North Charles Bank, 12/26 (.462), 3 HR, 10 RBI, 9 R SR: 3B Rip Risk, West Quincy, 16/26 (.615), 6 HR, 10 RBI, 13 R
