Lou and Tram...only the greatest DP combo of the 80s, if not of ever. There may have been 2Bs and SSs who were better individually, but how many could match these two as a package, both offensively and defensively, over so long a period? Are they in the Hall yet? They deserve to be, anyway.

Richard A. Smith from a bit of film purchased several months ago but not scanned until today... a tip of the cap to Merkle for scanner advice

the film is accompanied by a sliver of onionskin noting the date 3/11/64 and the site as St. Petersburg, Florida, photo by Klein & Peters... unless I've overlooked something, this seems to be the best image of this player in Mets clothes so far.

Speaking of which...

The '60s outfielder lasted quite awhile, even had two full seasons as an everyday starter for the Senators (oddly, splitting his time among all three positions in each). There are some images of his first two stints (1959, 1963) with the Orioles, and a lot of him in the black-based Senators unis of 1964-67.

But until now I've never seen any color of him taken in his final season, 1968. Still never seen him in the cartoon bird cap he donned after returning to Baltimore, but at least there is this admittedly weak game-action image of Valentine in the brand new red Washington uniform style which debuted in Spring Training '68.

Anybody ever seen him in color in a '68 Oriole uni?

After three all-star seasons in Japan for the Chunichi Dragons, oft-traveled first baseman Jim Marshall hungered to return to America and accepted a spring invitation by the World Champion Los Angeles Dodgers in 1966.
"I wasn't able to live in the same town as my family," he explained. "I had to leave them in Tokyo. ... There were few English-speaking people in Nagoya and it gets very lonely ... so I asked to be traded. But they never got in touch me me."
So after MLB stops with the Orioles, Cubs, Giants, Mets and Pirates, he was ready to give the majors another shot at age 35.
"I can be a left-handed pinch-hitter for them and give them insurance in the outfield," he said. "I feel anyone who can get at hot bat on this club would be most graciously accepted."
He was not. His playing career was over, but a long scouting career lay ahead.

As almost requested, I have uploaded all of the Topps Football IMages I have. There are over 12000 of them. I say almost as requested because most of them are unnamed. The named ones are included in two separate zip files which also includes non-topps images but most of them are players from 1967 and are in team folders. Lastly, my 1967 Card set using Topps Football template from 1968 including over 130 new updates are also uploaded again; exactly 2100 cards in the set now.
