Topps Vault
...stores its images at Index of /images/13076
The current folder in use is GZ and the numbers indicate the first one of that player (GZ-061, etc). |

Mike Sandlock (1915 - 2016)
Mike Sandlock has passed away at 100 years old. In addition to being one of the few remaining former Brooklyn Dodgers, he was the oldest living former major leaguer at the time of his death.
You'll find images of Mike with the three major league teams he played for here. And there's a nifty image of him from the 1954 Phillies yearbook here. The attached image (in need of a perspective fix) is a 1947 team issued postcard of Mike with Brooklyn currently being offered on eBay by seller krout20. |

1972 Don Leshock needed
Helping out an associate working on a 1972 master set. He's seen zero color on one-game Tigers pitcher Don Leshock, and the grainy B&W photo in his BB-Reference bio is the only thing he's been able to find -- and he has been very thorough in his searches.
Doesn't have to be Vault, or anything in particular. Hoping for color, and thanking those of you who have something. |

Lance Clemons 1971
A year ago, there were no color Red Sox images known of this southpaw who split 19 career games over three teams. Then a portrait turned up in a slide collection, and now he pops up out of Topps Vault.

Ron Campbell 1964
Not impossible to find this Cubs' utility infielder (Brace got him) but nearly all his images are his '67 Topps card. This is the original used on that card.
Today's Topps uploads: 101 Dave Campbell*, 102 Ron Campbell*, 103 Wayne Cage*, 104 Les Cain*, 105-106 Mike Caldwell*, 107 Johnny Callison*, 108 Dick Calmus*, 109 Rick Camp*, 110 Jim Campanis*, 111 Steve Busby*, 112 Jim Burton*, 113-114 Darrel Chaney*, 115-116 Dave Chalk*, 117 Bill Castro*, 118 Doug Capilla*, 119 Bob Cerv*, 120 Cesar Cedeno*, 121-124 Doug DeCinces, 125-126 Rickey Clark, 127-128 Terry Clark, 129-130 Jerry Clark, 131-134 Clemons, 135-136 Marty Clary, 137-140 Horace Clarke (* indicates photo used on a Topps card). Proper Pronunciation Please - Warren Brusstar
Need to know how to properly say the name of this 1970s Philly reliever - is it "Brew-ster", or "Bruss-ter"?

George Hogan-missing player
George Hogan played under the name of George Robbins in 1909-1910 for the Lexington Colts. He also played for the 1914-1915 Des Moines Boosters but had his name as Hegan in 1914.

More George Hogan. 1909-1910 Lexington Colts where he played as George Robbins. And 1915 team roster for the Des Moines Boosters, he is the last player on the list.

Phillies TV and Radio broadcasters always pronounced his name: BRUCE-TAR. (and sometimes it sounded more like BRUCE-TER.) Let's not forget that he was a solid contributor to the Phillies first World's championship team of 1980 and appeared in that year's playoffs and World Series. He usually sported one of the better mustaches of his contemporaries. |

Bobby Doerr is 98. - Oldest HOFer ever.
Today is Bobby Doerr's 98th birthday. I believe that no other Hall Of Famer in any category lived to that age. Al Lopez (97 years, 71 days - (1908-2005) was the previous HOF record holder.
Any interesting photos of Doerr our members could post would be appreciated. |

With Mike Sandlock's passing, Eddie Carnett (born: Oct. 21, 1916 - currently 99 years and 5 1/2 months old), becomes MLB's oldest living player. Carnett was an outfielder-first baseman for 158 MLB games, that included 6 games where he pitched. He was with: 1941 Boston Braves, 1944 Chicago White Sox and the 1945 Cleveland Indians. |

Doug Clarey - UIN 1976
Popping up on the TV folders is Mr Doug Clarey, 2b, with all of 9 big leagues games in 1976 that resulted in 4 PAs.
Interesting enough, the pride of Homestead High's only big league hit was a 2-Run HR off Mike Caldwell in the 16th inning of a game... |

Bryan Clark 1981
Two very tough-to-find images of the peripatetic reliever of the '80s. Clark pitched for Cleveland for one year, and for Chicago in only 16 games spread over two seasons. Never seen him in a White Sox uniform before.
About Clarey: I believe Topps had more images of him than he had major league games played. Shot not just in St. Louis during his two week big league stint in 1976 (above) but also in a Cardinal spring training. Here are the ID's of today's uploads (The ID of Coe is tentative but probable) 141-142 Dave Collins, 143-144 Bob Colligan, 145-146 Rip Coleman, 147-150 Joe Coleman, 151-152 Gordon Coleman, 153-154 Randy Cohen, 155-156 Frank Coggins, 157-158 Roger Coe (?), 159-160 Dick Cole, 161-162 Don Collins, 163-164 Dick Cole, 165-166 Bobby Clark, 167-168 Doug Clarey, 169-172 Jim Colborn, 173-174 Vince Colbert, 175-176 Larry Colton, 177-178 Bobby Clark, 179-180 Bryan Clark |

Jim Colborn 1970
Included among the Colborn images are two stand-alones of his unhappy farewell to the majors with the '78 Mariners. I think there's his '79 card and one mediocre Brace of him in this uniform, otherwise this it.
(And, yes, I remember from experience that he wanted a full explanation of who you were shooting him for, and it was a struggle to get him to look at the camera) |

Help With a stumper or three?
We were able to run through the ID's of Folder NN last month for the most part, but two images eluded us:
NN053 NN185 The ID of GY859-860 as Tigers minor leaguer James Burnette was also questioned. Can anyone confirm or correct? Thanks, as always. |
