Worth the wait!

Certainly a sweet game thus far! Only issue I noticed was the "Force Trade" button overlapping some tabs on the trade screen, and thus making that button unavailable to click (since the mouse chooses one of the tabs below the button). But I'm sure that will be fixed in a release!

My Cubbies are off to a 15-5 start! GO BLUE!

I feel like a crackhead. I want to wait until the non-beta is out to play, but my computer keeps calling my name. I seriously feel like Chris Rock in New Jack City right now

Yes, that happens on very narrow resolutions... to be honest, I do not know where else to put the button, there is no space... I'll figure something out though.

Edit... moved it next to the "make work now" button.

After giving all the skins a run through, the classic skin is looking superb! Easily the best classic skin ever put forth from the team. I'll likely be in the minority on this one, but it's the best skin for the game.

Another tiny suggestion:

The down arrow on the menu drop downs look a little too much like a capital "V". If someone has a long team name, it looks like it's part of their team (even though there's a little space there). It might be nice to make it a subscript or something. Not a big deal, but I figured I'd mention it

Also, if there is a team name that is too long, it interferes with the "play" button on the side. Would there be a way to have it automatically shrink the text to fit the area, kind of like Excel's "Wrap Text" and "Shrink to Fit" functions? Just curious.

Thanks for an awesome game!!!

QUESTION

I pre-ordered the new version but haven't downloaded it (it always comes out on a very busy week for me).

I have had no interest in the animated stuff, but with all the raving about it, I figure that when I get a chance I will check it out.

My question is: if you are using the animation, do you have to use the 3-D models? If you normally use photos, will the animation occur on top of the photos, are you stuck having to switch pictures?

(I imagine so, but I would like confirmation.)

No, the photos or facegens disappear when the play starts in 3d so you only see the player models then they reappear once the play ends.

Only issue I've found is, on the classic skin, when you're on the screen for making changes to the pitcher during the game, the opposing team's lineup is shown in the lower left corner. There is no way to determine which player is "up" by looking at that lineup. Some screens, it's shown with an underlined number on others it's a different color. On this screen, however, there's no indicator.

Kinda important when making pitching changes.

Individual Pitch Ratings

The new development graphs are great. But they would be even better if they could keep track of a pitchers individual pitch ratings. Those ratings are really important but so hard to keep track of for every pitcher that you have in your system. A graph to keep track of those would be a game changer.

You will have to use the 3D parks to utilize the 3D views. You will find that you don't have the ability to load .jpg or .png files to 3D parks.

The 2D modern view is terrific. For years all the game needed was a facelift in regard to the in game screen. Now it's got it, and playing out games is the best its ever been.

One nice feature is the ability to add a delay between plays when pbp is on auto. It might not be an important feature to some, but for those who self score games its quite nice. The delay can be 1.0 up to 7.0(I think 7 is max, though not sure).

Thanks to OOTP dev team for that.

Thanks for the answer! I misunderstood the original question, thus my reply above makes no sense

my skin of choice.

tried dark, but was hard to differentiate between bold & non-bold for the Inbox. also had some background issues.

classic has always been my favorite, gives a real 'managers desk' feel IMO.

In addition to all of the superlatives about the new version of the game, I have to second this. On the other hand OOTP 19, I find too light in areas.

Is there any way to change the color scheme to that of the last version, or otherwise a way to fine tune the colors myself?

I tried to use the default dark skin, but it was way too difficult to distinguish differences between colors on the black background. It was also very hard on my eyes after a short time. I switch to the 'OOTP19' white skin. Much easier to read everything at a quick glance. I guess that is why black text on white screens is the default in most applications.
I also had to change the font to Barlow Semi Condensed. The default font always seemed blurry and the others did not work as well as the one I chose..
It is a nice feature that we can each change to whatever skin/font that works for us. Having all of these options available makes the game playable for all. I look forward to additional choices in future versions.

Thanks,
Malor

After playing the game for a few days I have to say thanks for the new fonts it's good for my old eyes.

Also being strictly a historical player I like how it shows more than a couple seasons on the news stories.

Have had only a few minor bugs that will be placed where they belong
in the proper forum.

So for me Markus this release is just as flawless as last years was
so thanks again...Rick
