Do you know if dev. engine on the player can learn other positions earlier than with only 3-year recalc? There were some stars like Pete Rose, who started as infielder, but later switched to outfield.

I have not played with dev engine off. I have seen posts that with it off a player degrades quickly as stats become unavailable.

With recalc and dev on and fielding to other than career Rose cannot play OF until he has RL stats in the OF.I commented earlier on Cesar Tovar.

I see that your lineup is heavily overloaded with lefties. I presume that works quite well against right handed pitchers.

I usually try to check the opponent's lineup and stats versus rightire and lefties and select my starting pitcher accordignly. Does it make sense to throw in my lefty picther, if the the opponent is using a lefty starter?

I use start highest rested and let the manager handle it from there. Something different might work for you. In OOTP we make decisions on estimated probability without sufficient sample size to know what the real probability is.

As a Phils fan, I am crazy curious how the 1974 version rallied to catch the Bucs. Any chance you can post their team (I mean individual) stats? The Pirates’ collapse sounds an awful lot like the Phillies in 1964. Although pitching depth was the Phils’ issue - only two healthy starters, Bunning and Short. But the same issue of injuries to starters and the bench players not performing at all. Ugh.

OOTP wants Gossage to be a SP. I didn't over rule but put on a pitch count limit.

It's interesting to see short career guys still playing years later and never wuzes in MLB.

Gossage was primarily a starter in 1976 for the White Sox, starting 29 games and actually completing 15!
