2013 PLAYOFFS
  • Wilfredo Diaz is removed from the Playoff roster, OF Dave Wheeler is added. Will be going with a 4 man rotation and a shorter bullpen
  • Extending the season hurt our rotation. Guijosa is the most rested and only guy at 100% so he'll open the series vs Jacksonville. Followed by Morris, Bush, and Avendano.
  • Mark Calkins back is bothering him so we're up in the air about starting him, or rookie Dan Ames.
  • We were 5-4 vs Jacksonville during the season.
  • Their offense ranks 9th and is led by Ricky Ramirez (.296-40-107). Devin Howard 6-13 was their best bat against us.
  • Guijosa made 2 starts with an 8.16 ERA over 14.1 IP 15 K7 BB 19 H. Morris did not see them all year.
  • Scott Herman (13-8 4.66) went 0-0 in 2 GS with a 9.58 ERA over 10.1 IP. John Simmons went 1-1 3.54 in 20.1 IP with 25 K and 3 BB.
  • As of today they're saying (* = if necessary):
  • Game 1) Miguel Dieguez (RH) 8-10 3.88 vs Bobby Guijosa RH (12-8 4.90)
  • Game 2) John Simmons (LH) 15-11 4.16 vs Joe Bush LH (11-9 3.30)
  • Game 3) Scott Herman (LH) 13-8 4.66 vs Joey Morris RH (9-10 3.71)
  • *Game 4) Mike Loeffler (RH) 8-8 3.88 vs Ricky Avendano RH (10-11 4.26)

In the other 4 series
In the AL
  • Charlotte vs Wyoming (Charlotte beat them 8-4 during the season)
  • Brooklyn vs Chicago Hitmen (Chicago 8-4 regular season)
  • Charlotte, Wyoming, and Cleveland have never appeared in a World Series
  • Brooklyn (1-0) and Chicago (0-1) are looking for their 2nd WS appearances
  • Boston (2-0) is looking for their 3rd title
  • Boston, Cleveland, Washington, and San Francisco all have 1st round byes.

In the NL
  • New York vs El Paso (New York 8-4 regular season)
  • Chicago vs Jacksonville (Chicago 5-4 regular season)
  • Us and San Francisco are looking to make our first WS appearances.
  • New York (0-1) El Paso (1-0) and Washington (0-1) are looking to make their 2nd WS appearances
  • Jacksonville (2-0) last won in 2010

2013 LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES
  • We'll take on the leagues best team, Washington, who finished 98-64 but who we beat 6 of 9 during the regular season.
  • Gus Garcia (.393/.455/.607) hammered them as did Jesse Roberts (.370/.400/.407).
  • Daniel Gonzalez (.344-4-13) and Jose Zambrano (.350-3-11) did much of their damage.
  • The matchups as of today:
  • G1- Sergio Ramirez RH (8-10 2.88) vs Ricky Avendano RH (10-11 4.26)
  • G2- Wakasa Sato LH (7-4 3.16) vs Bobby Guijosa RH (12-8 4.90)
  • G3- Oscar Villarreal RH (16-9 3.25) vs Joey Morris RH (9-10 3.71)
  • G4- David Pozos RH (16-6 2.98) vs Joe Bush (11-9 3.30)

They will be running the leagues best pitching staff vs our 3rd ranked offense.
  • In the AL, Boston takes on Brooklyn. Brooklyn beat them 8 of 12 times during the regular season.
  • This will be a matchup of the top-ranked offense (Brooklyn) against the 2nd ranked staff of Boston.
