Bluffton Breaks First in OL B222

The Boomerangs are the quickest off the line, but the race should be a wide and hotly contested one.

Next time you log in can you tell me what logo you see for Coney Island? I have been trying to change it back to it’s original for a week.

Really strange, when I log in I am still seeing the tribute logo I "borrowed" from Stanley Mr. Ranger, Rod Gilbert.

I see a Ranger. I will assume that it is Gilbert!

Things get heated in OL

I am not sure if there will be some further repercussions with the OL Commissioner's Office but there was a brouhaha between the Algoma Penguins and Shinbone Stars. It started in the second inning when Sam Jethroe homered in the ninth spot off Shinbone's Smoky Joe Wood. Jackie Robinson steps in and Wood hits him with the first pitch! Uncalled for I say and Jackie did not take kindly to it either. Name: Screenshot 2021-09-07 200443.jpg

After both Robinson and Wood were ejected the Penguins (and Jackie's replacement Bobby Doerr in particular) were highly motivated to win the game and the series.

Thank you for double checking however, the OL Commissioners Office is well aware of it.

We are having a very hard time figuring out actually what happened and who did what to who.

Once the fight started, both teams mascots charged at each other and the TV camera crews turned their cameras on to those two.

For a few minutes, you would have thought that you were watching a WWE fight as those mascots were trading haymakers and taking turns pile-driving the other one!

Of the very little team fight footage that existed, it is now "missing"!

We think it could be a "inside job" however, we are still looking into the matter.

I personally believe they should get the fight of the night bonus.

Ol b222

Terra Incognita grabs the top spot in a wide open race. No teams currently in relegation danger.

D368 Standings

Apologies for missing yesterday's update. I'm on it today though!

Cary, playing well both inside and outside of the OL, sits on top of the standings, with Nowhere and Annandale breathing down their heels. It's still early, though, so nobody should lose hope.

Waffletown would like to welcome two new members to the squad:

2B - Bobby Grich and RP - Jonathan Papelbon

Grich will backup Jackie Robinson at second base; while Papelbon will join the bullpen in a middle relief/closer role. To make room on the roster, Mike Mussina and Adam Kennedy will be sent to the reserves. Management would like to thank Kennedy for his long service with the club. Joining Waffletown in the 2022 season, Kennedy served as the starting second baseman for 16 years; and then as a backup for another 7. He won 2 Great Glove awards, 2 Platinum Stick awards, and was a member of the 2030 Silver tier Syrups championship team. He appeared in 2456 games, with 2399 hits, 545 doubles, 92 home runs, 944 RBIs, 553 stolen bases, 1099 runs scored, a .274 average and a 27.0 WAR.

No changes in the OL standings from top to bottom as the season hits the halfway point.

Silver League

Paxville rattled off a 17-3 month to put themselves in a very strong position (they should have been promoted last season - well done PT engine ).

Gettysburg Grabs Lead in OL B222

A fusillade of 8 wins by the Bullets propelled them into the lead of the busy bronze race.

D368 Update

Cary's strategy of not playing too many OL games is serving them well. They performed well in their limited action last month and still sit atop the pile in Diamond. Annandale and Nowhere are still in the race though.

Relegation looms for a few of the teams but there's still time to turn things around.

Report from the 2044 Silver 320 All-Star Game

As we get deeper into the PT22 cycle, it's amusing to visit the various all-star games and see the number of times Player A is replaced by Player A.

The 2044 Silver 320 ASG was hosted by Boulder City, where 50,000 fans watched a slugfest. AC Starter, non-OL Johan Santana, was allowed to go ⅔ innings, giving up 8 runs on 8 hits, as the NC dominated, 16-9. Non-OL Carl Hubbell picked up the win, despite giving up a 2nd inning run in his only inning of work. We're assuming the official scorer was too confused by the multiple Cy Youngs to care who got the win.

Cy Young appeared 3 times for the NC, 4 times for the AC. Interestingly, he was the only pitcher to appear in the all-star roster multiple times. Position players were a different matter.

Enos Slaughter appeared 3 times for the NC, and 4 times for the AC. Twice he pinch-hit for himself. Alan Trammel appeared 3 times, Terry Pendleton 3 times, and Nomar Garciaparra 3 times. Left Coast's Pete Rose was the game MVP.
