Quintana makes me queasy. You never know what you get.

The FOX pregame team of Cheaters and Jeter unanimously predicts a Mets win. Uh, thanks (you front-running pricks), I guess.

A-Roid specifically says that Edwin Diaz will get a six-out save. I had no idea that HGH makes you hallucinate!

If I hear "punchies" one more time from Punchiezynski, I'm gonna throw some "punchies".

I would very much love for the Mets to end the series today. Unfortunately, they have scored zilch through two innings while stranding six.

(After 5 innings)

They really want to blow this, huh? FFS.

I think I'll order a Philly steak (no cheese, thanks) as sarcastic consolation.

"And Edwin Diaz is coming in the game!" Adam Amin exults after the bottom of the 8th.

As if that's a good thing, Adam. FFS.

But we survived. Survive and advance. See you in California.

(California ball will start at 8PM ET, 0200 CET on Sunday. Get your sleep, Westheim!)

Already got my sleep. Slumbered off after Pete hit that leadoff double in the seventh off Kerkering and was stranded like literally everybody ******* else, except when Lindor hit the slam.

Almost worth the $341M. *Almost*.

The Mets barely threw more strikes than balls in this game, which was HORRENDOUS to watch.

I don't see myself making a 2am first pitch without slowly killing myself with a sixpack of Red Bull a day.

For the NLCS, the Mets activate Jeff McNeil and deactivate Ottavi-NO.

This is almost certainly an improvement. Even if they only use the Squirrel to pitch relief.

So…they use a different strike zone in Japan, is that it? Good to know, I suppose.

(That said, I'm not terribly distressed. We still have three chances to steal a win in LA and next time around, Peterson takes the start instead of Ghost Dork. No need to panic…yet.)

I see that opting for a good night's sleep was the better choice.

Just finished a nap of some 2:30 hours.

Whenever I am asked my age, I append a "but I don't feel a day younger than 75" and it's not a lie.

Maton walks Muncy to load the bases for the pest Kike Hernandez, mid-meltdown.

RIP. L. 0-2.

BIG EXHALE.

Yes, I'm a sky-is-falling type-a guy.

Going home tied at one. I won't be able to watch Game 3, and I currently have no idea how to get my filthy paws on Games 6 and 7, if they're played.

La respuesta, amigo mío, está soplando en el viento
La respuesta está soplando en el viento

Never in doubt. (Except when I doubted it.) Chill out, cool breeze.

I'd like an answer as to why Mendoza's line involves putting Peterson in the pen for Game 3, thus setting up Game 5 to repeat Game 1's mistake. But I suppose all that yen we pay Ghost Fork entitles him to one more go.

I should point out that (as I didn't see Senga pitch at all last season), my experience with Kodai is as follows:

• regular season, throws 5 good innings before tripping on the grass and injuring himself.
• v. Philly, surrenders an opening bomb to Schwarber before giving us 30 or so good pitches.
• Game 1, forgets what a strike is and is utterly useless.

If this trend continues, he may spontaneously combust when he takes the mound on Friday.

But that's for Friday, I suppose. Enjoy whatever recording magic you're able to work tomorrow night.

I saw Senga a lot last year and at times he was almost deGromesque in being unhittable. Sometimes he also walked a bunch. The five innings for no greater good in the middle of the year were ... decent?

I didn't see him in Game 1, but the box score was depressing.

A-ROID: Remember, it was David Wright and the defensive error that cost [the Mets] the 2015 World Series.
Say what??? Ease off of Captain America, jerkwad!

Yes, Wright made an error that cost us Game ONE of the series. (I was there, recall. 14 innings in the rain.) But Cueto shut us down in Game 2 (watched that one from the bar of the KC Hyatt, saving the $500 I nearly paid to go back to the park), Murph's error cost Game 4, and Hosmer didn't get the blame for his idiotic baserunning in Game 5 because Duda threw the ball halfway to Brooklyn. (And because Travis d'L d'idnt go get the throw, even though he had time to make the catch and still dive back to tag Hoss, I say.) But that was only the tying run, anyhow.

Shut your blow-hole, you hole! Grrrr…

Peeeeete has apparently swapped out "Working Man" as his walk-up song. New selection is "American Pie" by Don McLean.

Well, I guess it makes sense to ditch the Canadians (Rush) and be patriotic for the post-season.

(Pete does know that "American Pie" is about a plane crash, right?)

In case you decide to spare yourself, Westie, here is the exciting rally by the Dodgers in the top of the 2nd:

Muncy: walks
Teoscar H.: tapper in front of the plate. Alvarez tries to get the out at 2B, all safe.
Lux: grounder back to the mound. Should be a 1-6-3, but Severe No bobbles it, and can only get the out at 1st.
Smith: grounder slightly to the left of the mound. Muncy, going on contact, would be out at home, but Severino (a Gold Glove winner, recall) completely fluffs it. 1-0
Edman: Long fly to Right-Center alley. Taylor makes a nice sliding catch, despite Marte nearly giving him a kneestrike to the face. 2-0

Mets load bases with one out in their half. Alvarez looks at strike 3. Lindor goes down swinging.
Mets get 2 on in the 3rd. Do not score.
Kike H. hits a 2 run dinger in the 6th.
Mets get 2 on in the 6th. Pete GiDP to end inning.

Nice of the Metsies to do their White Sux impression to make Michael Kopech feel at home, no?
