Looking at his '62 Topps card, feel strongly that 763-764 is Jim Golden.

Wow. Definitely not seeing that. Not saying you're wrong but where did all the hair come from all of a sudden?

The White Sox shots were probably taken in 1964; seems to be enough time for it to grow.

Harley Hisner 1951

Harley Hisner, 1951 Red Sox... he's not on the UIN list, but this image (sampled from a recently purchased photo) is a significant upgrade on the only other pic I've seen of him in a Boston uniform. In his one big league appearance, Hisner was the starting pitcher for the Red Sox at Yankee Stadium in the final game of the 1951 season. As this photo was made at Yankee Stadium, it might well have been taken that day.

Still not seeing it.

Just so this post has something new to add, the Phillies shot of Jim Golden was found on Pinterest...said to be from 1954 when Jim was pitching for the Mattoon Phillies. Obviously colorized (not by me).

Rule Out Jim Golden

Jim Golden has blue eyes. KB 763 (pictured on right) does not.

Jim Golden has a hook at the bottom of his nose. The bottom of KB 763's nose is flat. They can't be the same fellow.

Rainmaker is correct that Jim Golden was with the White Sox in 1964. He was on their spring roster that year. So that, combined with the G surname, made it a reasonable guess. But we need to keep searching for an ID.

It's Sam Russo

The TBD on 763-764 was a placeholder. I have a series of small B&W images from the 1964 White Sox camp without access to that group for a few days, and wasn't sure based only on memory if that were he, Bob Guzek, Bob Gordon, or a couple of other guys.

The first black and white image is of Russo, the second (for comparison) is Jim Golden taken the same day, and the color one is KB 763 of Russo.

Russo spent two years in the Sox farm system and the '64 camp with the big club. Here's a link to a list of invitees which will include very obscure names that are very familiar to us who know the Topps vaults: https://news.google.com/newspapers?n...,2408112&hl=en

Russo didn't appear in a game after spring training 1964. Injury? Military Service? No clue: he seems to drop off the radar even in such archives as Newspapers.com:
