Until this Evening
That's it until the PT playoffs. Good luck to those who are playing. I did want to mention that Port Ruppert's new manager, Computer Al, got them to the wild card and within a loss in game 162 of the division title, but did a weird job, I thought. He used 13 pitchers as starters, and seemed to revamp the pitching staff quite frequently, going from a four to a five man rotation at least once. I didn't check the lineups closely, but did notice a few blatant oddities, like often using an inferior defensive player as a defensive replacement. In fact, Pete Rose was a replacement at two positions, at the same time. It seemed that little consideration was given to platooning, and there seems to be no way to set the strategy for that to happen. It also doesn't understand how to rest players. I had to wrest roster control from him when he activated a 13th pitcher and had only Andrew McCutcheon playing center field with no rest. For the two days before I checked McCutcheon played at an exhausted level and his numbers tanked. Since I used only about half of my available perfects this week, I am going to swap out the roster almost totally, except for keeping Rose around to cover multiple positions ( as a defensive replacement, I guess
). I'll probably check at least once a day to see if he changes the lineups as often as the pitching. All in all, I think it demonstrated why the AI doesn't seem to follow your instructions so well when you are in charge. It's pretty effing stupid.

It was one of those mornings, watching the clock to go to work and had to do the standings 3 times to get them correct. Normally when I do stats the entire week I have a handle on remaining games which allows me to find mistakes, if any quickly.

Signed in to find an extra 10K in the war chest…. Turns out my tourney bunch made the sweet 16 in the monthly silver jackpot tourney…. Would have been nice to go further but 10K is better than nothing
Hoping the Syrups don’t crap out in the WC…. If they can stay focused, an LDS with the Mad Brewers could be a solid series…. Think the regular season went 10-9 between them if I had the calculations right Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

playoffs here we come!
Not sure why I would load up for playoffs if it is going to send Lemp Ave. to Diamond where we will be treated well, poorly, but here we go:

OL's chance to be represented in perfect somehow lies with the Brooklyn Dynasty, who have made the playoffs for the first time in this tier. A 92-70 record assured them of a WC1 place, and a wildcard game at the Kingdom. With a solid pitching staff, the Dynasty are looking to shock the world and drag their miserly offense into perfect on the wings of their pitching.
A very unlikely prospect, but one that exists as we approach the start of Playoff Sunday. |

Good luck Magus! It would be pretty ironic if you went up to PeL this week, but that probably makes it all the more likely

Wearing my Syrups hat today on the flight back…. Didn’t do any good as we choked in 10 innings…. On the plus side, we won’t be getting pounded at diamond next year…. Good luck remaining OL playoff teams Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Still alive. 2-2 in the divisional round, having gone toe to toe with the #1 seed in the conference. Was back and forth all series, very close games. If we can steal this series, we could very well be the team of destiny.

UPDATE: Reuss blew it in the 10th. There is now a 0% chance of me getting to perfect this week (or ever for that matter).
The one guy I could rely on all week to lock it down turns into a pumpkin at the worst time. Thanks, RNG. This is why I can never have nice things. *middle finger* OL added to team name, friended all at gold and diamond. Last edited by Magus978; 09-19-2021 at 03:36 PM. |

Drivers Come Up Short
Sunday scored three in the bottom of the 9th to tie game seven in S279, only to fall in the 10th by a 6-3 margin.
Coney Island was leading in the G303 Series, but the universe screen is lagging. |

Coney Island just took the Gold Series 4-3, like true Warriors! ...Which is a good note to end the night on because PT's served me up a right load of rubbish again tonight.

while Waffletown still seeks their first championship since the 2030 season (silver tier), their lineup continues to rake in the individual awards...
Platinum stick awards: Oscar Charleston (4th), Jackie Robinson (4th), Josh Gibson (3rd) Great glove awards: Arky Vaughan (2nd), Stan Musial (4th consecutive) MVP: Jackie Robinson (3rd at Gold tier) - led the league in runs scored (119), stolen bases (106), on base pct (.409), OPS (.897), WAR (8.1) |

thanks to the tourney infusion and some end-of-year hardware funds, Waffletown finished off the Cleveland team#2 mission which in turn finished off the Cleveland FH2 mission, so joining the squad for next season:
Addie Joss (100) Jonathan Papelbon will be sent to the reserves to make room on the roster, and Joss will take up residence in the bullpen. |
