LOL - Lee does not want any part of Amir & will only face him if the IBO forces him to do so!

In a shocker, Johan Perez won the IBF WW title with a 1 punch, overhand right KO of Julio Diaz - the end coming @ 0:36 of the 2nd round.
Diaz was making the 3rd defense of his title, having just defended it by a Majority Draw against Italy's Leonard Bundu in December. This was supposed to be a stay busy defense for Diaz but Perez looked like Hitman Hearns in his blowout win! |

In a surprisingly easy 2nd title defense (IBO), Carl Froch came to Paris & took apart Christophe Tiozzo with a 4th round TKO.
CT was expected to provide Carl with a stern challenge but Froch dominated from the beginning out punching the French challenger 133 to 55 (both landed 41% of their punches). CT's right eye was already red with swelling. Carl is now 24-1 (15 KO's) & CT is 12-3 (9 KO's). Froch hopes to return again this summer. |

Felix Sturm & Jermain Taylor met for the vacant WBA MW belt in Germany with Sturm ekking out a 15 SD in a fight Felix appeared to control in sort of a boring fight. Sturm winning on the cards 143-142 twice while 1 judge had it 143-142 for Taylor. Jermain won 10-9 on every judge's card in the 13th, 14th & 15th but it wasn't enough coming down the stretch to take the title.
Sturm also won the PL battle: 331 (35%) to 256 (24%). Felix finally wins his 1st title & improves to 26-2 (5 KO's) & Taylor's now 28-3 (28 KO's). |

WBA JWW belt
In a tough fight, Danny Garcia was able to turn back the challenge of long time vet, Chop Chop Corley by 15 MD to make his 3rd defense. (143-141 twice & 142-142).
Danny dropped Corley midway through the fight for the only KD but Garcia's youth appeared to make the difference as he pressed the action & scored with big shots as close rounds came to an end. Corley out punched Danny 428 (46%) to 329 (22%). Danny's now 9-0 (6 KO's) & Corley is 30-4-1 (17 KO's). |

Vacant IBF JWW belt
2 vets met for this strap when Tyrone Nurse vacated it to fight Ray Mancini for his IBO title. Nurse KO'd Edwin Rosario in the 4th & then was KO'd by Ray in 9.
So for the vacant IBF version, Lucas Matthysse in his 1st title fight met former champ, Kendall Holt. Holt lost his IBO belt to Mike Alvarado when Holt quit in the 6th with a hurt hand. This fight ended in definitive fashion & Lucas opened the show with a huge right cross that dropped Holt for a 7 count. In the 2nd & 3rd, Holt more than held his own & took the fight to the big punching Argentine. In the fatal 4th, Holt was applying the pressure in the corner when Holt missed, Lucas didn't & a hard hook end matters @ 2:16. The judges had the fight even (28-28) with Holt up 65 (21%) to 48 (11%) in PL. Lucas improves to 19-0 (18 KO's) & Holt falls to 21-2 (13 KO's). Last edited by hamed2; 04-19-2015 at 12:59 PM. |

WBC JWW belt
In another impressive performance, Ruslan Provodnikov dropped game challenger (and former IBO champ), Lanardo Tyner, 6 times en route to an easy 15UD. Scores were 145-134, 147-133 & 144-136.
Every time Tyner tried to engage, Ruslan dropped him. In addition to the 6 KD's, Ruslan won the PL battle, 419 (33%) to 240 (23%). It was Ruslan's 3rd title defense & improves to 14-0 with 12 KO's. Tyner's now 5-2 with 4 KO's. |

WBC SMW title
Making his 4th title defense, Kelly Pavlik appeared to be in control against Anthony Dirrell until the 10th round when The Dog really came out gunning. Dirrell dropped Kelly for a count of 3 with a right cross late in the round & ended matters seconds later with a left hook.
Kelly was up on the cards: 87-85, 87-84 & 88-83 as well as PL: 216 (33%) to 204 (26%). Dirrell dominated the PL in the 10th - 42-0 to narrow the PL gap. Anthony's now 8-0 - all KO's while Pavlik suffers his 1st defeat @ 168 & is now 10-1, 8 KO's. |

Return to 147
After winning/losing the WBO belt @ 154, Manny Pacquiao dropped down to take on & eventually out former champ, 6 Heads Lewis, with a 6th round TKO.
In a give & take fight, a combo from Manny dropped the veteran 6 Heads for a count of 8 & from then on Manny's win would not be denied, the ref stepping in @ 2:20 after a hard left cross almost sent Lewis to the canvas once again. 2 judges had Manny up 49-47 & the 3rd had it even @ 48. Manny's now 4-0, all KO's @ 147 & Lewis is 34-6-1 (28 KO's). |

The good news for Willie Monroe, Jr. is that he landed 100% of his punches, the bad news was that Gennady Golovkin landed 61% of his, including an uppercut that dropped Willie for an 8 count & then GGG finished him @ 2:37 of round 1.
GGG won the PL battle 42 to 6, making the 5th defense of his WBC MW belt & improved to 21-0 (16 KO's). It was Monroe's 1st loss, now 4-1 ( 2 KO's). Last edited by hamed2; 05-17-2015 at 09:00 AM. |

WBC CW title
Former WBO CW champ, Enzo Maccarinelli, showed a lot of heart in facing the brutal assault of power punching champ, Herbie Hide. After an uneventful 1st round, a brutal uppercut from Hide sent Enzo to the canvas. The fighter from Wales was lucky to survive the round. Enzo seemed reluctant to engage from that point forward until he wore down late & Hide dropped him 2 more times before a huge hook ended matters in the 14th.
Hide was up 343 (35%) to 241 (23%) in PL as well as on the cards: 125-119, 123-121 & 124-121. Hide made the 2nd defense of his belt & is now 14-0, 13 KO's. The lone fighter to not get KO'd was Nuri Seferi who was DQ'd in the 10th for a low blow in Hide's 1st title defense. Enzo's 26-2-1 (19 KO's) & it was the 1st time he was stopped. |

Ray Mancini moved to 10-0 with a 4 KD destruction of Ted Bami to make his 6th defense of his IBO JWW crown.
The end coming when Ray hit Ted with a right cross to end matters @ 2:58 of the 4th round. Ray was up 30-25 on all 3 cards. |

IBF/IBO WW unification
IBO champ, Lee Purdy, decided to face Johan Perez for his IBF belt rather than fellow Brits, Khan or Brook, so he traveled to Venezuela for a unification.
Perez won the belt back in March from Julio Diaz with a 1 punch right cross in the 2nd round. A fight that was pretty boring ended in dramatic fashion when a Perez hook to the liver ended the fight & Purdy's IBO reign @ 2:56 of the 13th round. Perez was up on all 3 cards 116-113 twice & 116-114 as well as PL: 349 (43%) to 238 (19%). |

In a much tougher defense than many anticipated, Wayne McCullough was able to make the 6th defense of his WBC FW belt with a right cross KO of Colombian banger, Miguel Marriaga, @ 2:14 of the 14th.
Miguel had hit the deck 3 times prior & a body shot also sent Wayne to the canvas late in a prior round. At the time of the stoppage, Wayne was up on 1 card, 125-122, down on another, 122-123 & 1 judge had it even @ 122-122. Wayne was up on PL's: 309 (24%) to 268 (51%) & is now 13-1, 9 KO's @ FW. His lone loss @ 126 when a cut ended his WBO FW reign. |

Adrien Broner fought a smart, if somewhat cautious, fight to defend his WBO JWW belt for the 2nd time.
Broner picked his spots & dropped Roberto Ortiz 4 times over the 15 rounds easily winning a dominant UD: 148-134, 150-132 & 149-133. Broner was aware of the power of big puncher from Mexico but his speed & defense were too much as he out landed Ortiz 508 (31%) to 123 (9%). After the fight, Broner called out IBO champ, Ray Mancini, for an all Ohio unification battle. AB is now 4-0, 2 KO's @ 140. Last edited by hamed2; 06-21-2015 at 02:24 PM. |

Making the 2nd defense of his WBO WW belt, Ruslan Provodnikov went to California to take on the rugged Nigerian, Wale Omotoso.
The fight proceeded as expected as both brawlers traded big shots, with Ruslan appearing to pull ahead as the rounds wore on. In the 12th, both decided to go for broke & Wale backed up RP with a hard right cross. Ruslan answered a short while later with a left hook that dropped Wale for a count of 4. It was like blood in the water then as RP would not be denied, a combo ending matters @ 2:40 of the 12th. Despite a PL lead of 387 (33%) to 192 (24%), 2 judges (Argentina & the US) had the fight even @ 104-104. Only the German judge had Ruslan up 107-103. Last edited by hamed2; 06-28-2015 at 02:36 PM. |

WBO SMW champ, Errol Christie, looked to make short work of Ben McCulloch & jumped on the challenger in the 1st round. Errol swelled up Ben's left & looked like he was about to have an early & easy title defense. The tough Aussie had other ideas as he battled back & forth with the Brit - a man 19 years his senior.
A combo in the 12th sent Ben to the canvas for the only KD of the fight. In the end, Errol was able to retain his belt with a Majority Draw - 142-142 twice while 1 judge gave the British champ a 144-141 edge. PL were 324 (27%) to 313 (23%) in Errol's favor. It was Errol's 3rd title defense & he's now 7-1-1 with 5 KO's. |

3 LHW title defenses
In an extremely boring fight, Spain's Gabriel Campillo made the 7th defense of his IBF belt to move to 16-0, 2 KO's with a 15 UD over Nadjib Mohammedi from France. 143-142, 144-143 & 145-141.
Al Allotey received a title shot due to a 1 punch uppercut KO of Juergen Braehmer & Al made the most of it taking the WBA belt with a 15 SD 144-142 twice, 143-144 over Robin Krasniqi in Germany. Robin won the belt via an 11th round DQ over long time champ, Chad Dawson, earlier this year. Sergey Kovalev was impressive once again taking out African import, Mohamed Siluvangi via 4th round TKO due to 3 KD's in the round - a body shot ending matters @ 2:45. It was SK's 3rd defense of his WBO belt. |

WBA JWW belt
Danny Garcia came to Puerto Rico to make his 4th title defense against the dangerous puncher - Thomas Dulorme.
2 KD's in the 1st 4 rounds made it appear that Danny would make short work of TD. Thomas however fought back but in the end, he couldn't match the skill & power of Danny who finally ended matters @ 1:59 of the 14th with an uppercut. TD hit the deck 5 other times. Danny was up 127-117 & 127-116 twice on the cards & had a 442 (30%) to 265 (31%) PL lead. Danny's now 10-0 with 7 KO's. |
