Magpie hopes dashed as they blow another lead late and are officially eliminated. This is not the formula for success in PeL!
Still can't understand why my Pitcher WAR is so high with every other category in the basement. |

If anyone had told me a month ago that the Grackles would make 4 PeL playoffs in a row, I'd have laughed! I have to have been doing something right, but I think the 'Lucky Birds' luck must run out soon... surely? Got the Fighting Frogs in my division this week, rocking a very refined looking lefty cheese, and I'm not expecting things to go well against them!
It sure has been fun being in the playoff mix, but it's sooo disappointing getting knocked out ![]() Edit: One of the teams in my PeL division was a multiple tanker in the past. Rookie league, tut tut ![]()

The Hamtramck Tigers are still looking for a theme, but will have to do it on a much slimmer budget. The million plus point stash raised since the great sell-off of 2043 was largely spent on 2 players. FACE Ty Cobb joined the squad in the middle of the season replacing Billy Williams at DH and lit up Bronze League. He didn't have enough PA to qualify for the batting title, but still managed Great Bat, and MVP as well as finishing the season on a 30 game hitting streak. FACE Pedro Martinez was picked up also just in time for the playoffs, so winning their 3rd Bronze League championship was easy-peasy. So, with these two new faces, we'll see if they can carry the team in silver where 64 wins has been the norm, recently. One possible theme for this team is Cobb + Martinez who will "coach" the other 24 players who played in the Little League World Series. |

Thanks, Bailey. When I get relegated, at least I'll be able to consider position training again!
Couldn't agree more. I'm looking forward to knowing exactly what we're dealing with. |

I've got 1.3M PP and all of the FotF completed. This season I'm only playing with first-owned cards (all the SE rewards make this pretty easy, but still some gaps like SS and other upgrades) so hopefully there is a TotD quality level content release that gives you 10+ cards worth opening in packs to play with.

Already more than half way towards beating the PP earned last week in a single day. Thanks, to this one which I haven't seen in a long time:

So, where's the 'play possum' slider hidden?
If we're talking about being more than half way towards last seasons accomplishments... I don't think it's naïve to expect him to surpass last years numbers ![]() I love the freedom that switching to a theme team has given me to act like a whale. I bought the first Cliff Lee that hit the market, and I've just bought the first Edgar. Stick your SE Mark Langstons up for an exorbitant price and see if I'll bite!! ![]() Seriously though, if anyone on Discord wants to spread the word that some idiot will pay a lot for him, I'd be grateful ![]()

For PT 20 and PT21 the Gold trophy has alluded my teams. Its one of those levels that you only have one or two shots per team. Today the Curve finally delivered the Gold!

After getting my second Gold title today I am pretty sure I have a team that is going to stick in Diamond after finishing FotF, but as you can see from my banner, I have had more shots at the Gold title than I would have preferred lol.

My team had its worst result in Diamond since 2042: 3rd place with just 93 wins and stagger into the playoffs as 2nd wild card. At that's where it ended--the game preferred to use Guidry in the 8th over Price, but that's my fault for not setting bullpen strategy with use Price more often.
So, I spent the rest of the day selling off parts of the team that don't meet "meta" standards. But I didn't buy any new players to replace them, yet. |

Finishing the FOTF to get Cobb, Hornsby and Pedro, among others, is huge.

![]() I've had my hands tied a bit the last few weeks, so I'm doing a bit of experimenting. Not confident it's a good idea... Just noticed that my Sutter has already given up more runs in 1.2 innings than he did in 24 last week in PeL ![]()

The dust has settled and 4 players were given their walking papers: Larkin, Biggio, Plank, and Guidry. Stanky (OVR 95), locked from the Giants mission, filled in as 2B backup for 1 day, but I couldn't stand it and quickly signed Willie Wells to plug that hole. Tommy Bond and Bobby Mathews have been filling in sporadically for me, but now have full-time slots in the pen. Charlie Buffinton hasn't seen action for 25 weeks, but all his previous stats have been wiped out. Despite these rebuilding moves, the Magpies remain a force in Diamond League.

This week I started with 1.5M PP and opened packs hoping to pull the cards for new Shoeless Joe and maybe another tier one level card to use since I want to only use cards I've opened or freshly earned SEs this year.
It was a disaster. Got a TOTY Hendricks but nothing else worth over 50K. After selling all the lives I went thru 2500-3000 packs. Was down to my last 25 packs and planning to quit the game when I pulled 96 Campaneris. Now that I'm halfway there I can just slowly sell all the other junk and make my way to the 500K price point of the other card a few thousand at a time, so I was working on that. Then today I got 2 packs from a bronze tourney. Out pops 95 Percival. Hello Joe! |

Most stacked diamond league I have ever been in with 33 combined diamond titles.

So I came to realize the league which I was talking about (.366) is made up of a handful of misplaced DLL guys and dishnet which is why it looked so intimidating from the start.
