The St. Louis Cardinals have sent left-handed relief pitcher Jhonathan Diaz to AAA Memphis and called up outfielder Jordan Walker from the Redbirds.
Diaz was called up from Memphis before their August 26 doubleheader against Milwaukee.
He pitched a pair of scoreless innings in a 10-1 loss in the opener to the Brewers.
The team's top prospect, Walker is being called to the majors for the first time.
He has played in 79 games for the Redbirds, batting .207 with 19 homers and 58 RBIs.
The Cardinals are in need of outfield depth after both Lars Nootbaar and Dylan Carlson were injured after being hit by pitches in a 4-2 win over Milwaukee in the second game of the doubleheader.
Carlson's injury is considered day-to-day for about five days,
Nootbaar's injury is still be evaluated.

The St. Louis Cardinals have announced that outfielder Lars Nootbaar will miss up to four weeks after suffering a fractured cheekbone following a hit by pitch in a 4-2 win over Milwaukee on August 25.
It is Nootbaar's third trip to the injured list of the season.
When he's been available, Nootbaar has played well hitting .289 with 23 homers, 50 RBIs and 61 runs scored in just 67 games.
He had played particularly well in August before his injury, hitting .291 with 10 homers, 26 RBIs and 23 runs scored in 23 games.
Getting called up from AAA Memphis will be 29-year-old infielder Donovan Walton.
Acquired via trade from the San Francisco Giants on May 29, Walton has played in 27 games/21 starts during which he has hit .200 with one homer and 12 RBIs.

The St. Louis Cardinals have announced that starting pitcher Miles Mikolas is expected to miss up to six weeks with shoulder tendinitis.
Mikolas, 35, was pitching a shutout when he left after the fifth inning of the team's eventual 7-1 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers with shoulder pain.
The right-hander is expected to miss up to six weeks.
Mikolas has pitched in 25 games/24 starts for the Cardinals this season, going 9-8 with a 4.23 ERA.
His spot in the rotation is expected to be taken by Zach Eflin.
Acquired from Arizona in a July 27, trade, Eflin has struggled since joining the Cardinals going 2-2 with a 7.62 ERA in six starts.
He had been moved to the bullpen after his most recent outing but had yet to pitch in relief.
Overall, the 29-year-old his 8-3 for the season with a 4.84 ERA in 20 starts.
