Dick Stuart 1958

We've seen shots of Stuart in camp with the '67 Dodgers, and Topps got him both in Vero Beach and the year before at Dodger Stadium (a gorgeous shoot at dusk that included a bunch of the visiting Astros, many of which appear in the '67 Topps set). But I don't think there's been a clean color image of "Dr. Strangeglove" in a Los Angeles uniform before.

Still to be found: a color shot of Stuart during his reprise with the 1969 Angels, after two years in Japan. The most annoying fact of this gap in the photographic record is that somehow, while there's no color (or really clear black and white) shot of Stuart with California, one of his Angels uniforms is still intact and was sold at auction three years ago.

A cleaner version of the Dexter Ellsworth/Phillies posted a few weeks back.

Jesse Gonder 1960

There's a team-issued color photo of this '60s catcher in Pittsburgh garb, plus two Topps cards, but I think this Dexter is the first standalone. Not all the Dexter images were gems, but this'll do in a pinch.

Missing Player Located Will Sawyer 1883 Cleveland Blues

I've located a photo of Will Sawyer, who pitched for the 1883 Cleveland Blues. His photo and a very nice bio are featured at the following site:

Fred Stanley 1969

More from the '69 spring training photo proofs, and Fred Stanley's first known color image in the uniform of the team which originally drafted him. That September, Houston would sell "Chicken" to the Pilots.

When the Yankees got him from San Diego in the off-season of 1972-73 straight up for long-time minor league catcher George Pena, it would've bee hard to predict he would play in three separate World Series for them.

Charley Smith 1960

Another shot of a guy in a uniform in which he never played a major league game.

Smith, who was traded in consecutive winters for Ken Boyer and Roger Maris, went from the Yankees to the Giants in the off-season of 1968. Late in Spring Training 1969 he was sold to the Cubs, played two games, was sent to the PCL, and ended his career that season.

Gary Waslewski 1967

One more tonight:

There's one other color image I've seen of Waslewski during his very brief tenure with the Cardinals and it was obviously taken in the same shoot that produced this one.

Gus Gil 1967

And a couple of Dexters, by request.

Again, the lighting for the 1967 Cleveland Spring Training shoot in Tucson was abysmal, but until one of the George Brace images of Gil bubbles up to the surface this will have to do.

Lee May 1965

On the other hand, Dexter's photographer did a fantastic job in camp with the '68 Reds. The value in this image, obviously, is that it shows The Big Bopper in the Cincinnati pinstripes they wore 1967-1968 and in spring training 1969.

Tom Griffin 1969

This wasn't requested, but given that he pitched 7-1/2 years in Houston it's surprising how few color images of Griffin pop up. This is a Dexter shot from 1967, two years before his big league debut.

New Hall Of Famers - Pictured with short Stay teams

I thought it would be interesting if forum members could dig up some photos to post to honor the three new Hall Of Famers, but not photos of the teams they are most associated with.- Instead please post photos of teams they had their shortest stays with.

Ivan Rodriguez - Houston Astros.
Tim Raines - Baltimore Orioles, Florida Marlins, Oakland Athletics.
Jeff Bagwell - Boston Red Sox minor leaguer.
