Anyone got a good color shot of Joe Coleman with the Cubs?

That group had been up for election in December 2017 under the old system, but now under the reorganization they don't come up for election until December 2020, six years since their last election.
Maury Wills, among the oldest of the living candidates at the December 2014 election is due to be 88 when that next election comes around. Every other candidate (now in their 70s - Kaat, Oliva, Tiant etc.) will be in their 80s by the time of the next election (If still alive). The only exception will be Richie 'Dick' Allen who was born in 1942 and is due to turn 78 in 2020. No other group has been delayed and hurt as much by the HOFs era reorganization.
Two candidates who were alive at the time of the December 2014 election have since passed away (Billy Pierce and Minnie Minoso).
Wills has been screwed by the system long enough. Not only does he belong in the HOF but it was a travesty that he only got one shot at being a manager. When he was the Mariners skipper, he was given a team that nobody could do anything with.

Hof

Not generally in favor of arguing Cooperstown here but a) by all metrics Minoso was one of the top 10 players of "his" era (1951-1963), and b) since I posted the Wills photo: well, yes, his reintroduction of high-volume steals alone qualify him. But a manager? One of the worst ever.

By his own admission he managed under the influence frequently, once went home in the middle of a spring training game (home was in California and he had to take a plane), was suspended two games for ordering his groundskeepers to make the batter's box larger, several times told the media of his plans for how to best use players who he had forgotten were no longer with the Mariners, once handed in a batting order listing two third basemen and no centerfielder, and at least once tried to change pitchers with nobody warm in the bullpen. All this took place in a span of just 83 games, only 26 of which the Mariners won.

I don't think the managerial topic is a good one to emphasize if you're addressing his HOF qualifications.

Possible Sharman Society Members?

There is a very comprehensive KC Royals page here - Kansas City Royals History - 1977 Opening Day Roster/Transactions

It lists Lew Olsen, Dave Hasbach and Steve Patchin as September call-ups in 1977. Neither ever appeared in a MLB game and neither are listed in the current "Near Major Leaguers" list maintained at the SABR site. However, this appears to be an otherwise well-researched site (there's no apparent way to contact the manager). None of these guys are listed in the relevant Sporting News issues (though that doesn't necessarily guarantee anything). Any guesses as to whether any are actually Sharmans? Meantime, if anyone has an image of either Patchin or Olsen in Royals garb, it would be appreciated.

Note that all three were outrighted to Omaha before the end of October. Well into the '80s players were often recalled in September with instructions to report in the spring, often to fulfill contractual obligations, etc. The outrighting suggests this may be the case. As to images, Olsen has turned up a couple of times in Topps Vault uploads and auctions.

"Search This Thread" is your friend

Tom McMillan with the '77 Mariners has been posted here previously: http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...ml#post3961033 and http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...ml#post3961034

I believe a couple of your other 1977 needs have been addressed previously. Always saves time to search first.

Searches of newspaper.com and genealogybank.com turn up no indications of Kansas City Royals late season call-ups of these three in 1977. Even the Omaha newspaper is included among the journals reviewed, and all three spent time at Omaha in 1977. There was total silence in terms of any move to Kansas City in September for these three.

As for the photos you requested, I've posted a Topps Vault photo of Lew Olsen on the minor league thread.

1977 Pete Broberg - Cubs

I found this tiny image, identified as Pete Broberg as a cub - doing a Google search - it linked to an eBay page but I was unable to locate the image there. Does anyone have the actual, normal sized TV image, or know the vault ID number?
