Pat Scanlon 1974

Pat Scanlon was a very brief member of the Cardinals organization. The former big leaguer with the Montreal Expos was traded to the Cardinals in the 1976 off season along with Tony Scott and Steve Dunning for Bill Greif, Sam Mejias, and Angel Torres.

The 3 Expos coming to STL in the trade had all played for new Cardinals MGR Vern Rapp in Denver during the 1976 season...But, only Scott ended up having time in the big leagues with the Cardinals. Scanlon spent the first month at AAA with the New Orleans Pelicans batting .363 with 6 HR in 91 AB before he was traded to San Diego with John D'Acquisto for reliever Butch Metzger. He played in 47 games for the 1977 Padres batting .190 with 1 HR in 79 AB.

Jose "Joe" Azcue 1960

Not impossible with the Angels, but scarce. And there he is, from 1969. This should encourage you if you're looking for him in his brief farewell with the Brewers in 1972 - because Topps did shoot him in that uniform, and these images suggest somebody at least opened the Azcue folder.

Tuesday's Topps Uploads (KF) 363-364 Kevin Seitzer; 365-366 John Shelby; 367-368 Albie Pearson; 369-370 Don Robinson; 371-372 Tom Haller; 373-374 Ryne Sandberg; 375 Joe Hicks; 376 Jay Hook; 377-378 Joe Azcue; 379-380 Preston Hanna; 381-382 Johnny Kucks; 383-386 Reggie Jackson; 387-388 Sammy Sosa; 389-390 Bob Schroder; 391-394 Tom Kelley; 395-396 Randy Scarbery; 397-398 Richie Scheinblum; 399-400 Dan Schneider; 401-402 Calvin Schiraldi; 403-404 Bruce Sutter; 405-406 Eddie Murray; 407-408 Mark McGwire; 409-410 Dave Schmidt; 411-414 Mike Kekich; 415-416 Jim Schaffer; 417-418 Pat Scanlon; 419-420 Fred Scherman; 421-422 Dave Schneck; 423-424 Bobby Bonds; 425-428 Bob Boone; 429-430 John Smoltz; 431-432 Dick Kelley; 433-434 Ron Blomberg; 435-436 Art Howe; 437-438 TBD Rick Schu; 439-440 Jeff Williams (Orioles System); 441-442 Jim Wohlford

Randy Scarbery 1979

USC star, developed in the A's system, seldom seen in his only major league uniform, the White Sox.

Tom Kelley 1964

Nothing special about Kelley in a Braves' uniform, but I just think the posed action photo near the outfield warning track with the full bowl of Shea Stadium in the background is magnificent. And its companion deserves the caption "Is the upper deck on fire?"

Request for Vance

Other than his Topps 1971 card, might anyone have a color pic of Dodgers pitcher Sandy Vance from 1970 or 1971?

Hoping I missed him somehow in various online searches.....Thanks!

One thing we can say about The Mighty Azcue...his number has been retired at Fenway Park.

Warren Spahn (Giants)

Pictures of Warren Spahn with the Giants don't grow on trees. There have been a couple posted to this thread, the best of them by Sir Lurksalot in 2013.

This is a current eBay offering from seller nenchr7.

Dave Schuler 1979

At the age of 31 Dave Schuler had become a minor league journeyman...Beginning his professional career with the Indians in 1976 he was involved in an in-season trade for big leaguers in 1977 (going with Dave LaRoche to the Angels for Bruce Bochte and Sid Monge). He remained with the Angels through 1981 and made 9 big league appearances for them over 2 years (1979-80). He pitched for the Royals AAA club in 1982-83 and was with the Expos organization in 1984.

The Expos released him after the season and the Braves signed him. He was up with the Braves big league club twice during the 1985 season pitching in 9 games and allowing 8 ER in 10.2 IP. He would not pitch in the big leagues again and finished out his pro career going back to the Royals AAA club for 1986...in 1987 he finished his pro career spending time with the Braves, Giants, and Brewers organizations.

Watching the 1979 disco demolition game on youtube right now and Scarbery was shown warming up in the pen...he did not get into that game but what a fun game to watch

Carey and Piersall in the booth are definitely a throwback....If you watch you would understand #definitelynotPC

Joe Schultz 1938

Kind of cheating here; this image of Schultz technically belongs in the coaches thread but the post list belongs here. The Schultz (Joe and Barney) images are probably the most interesting ones uploaded today, given that Joe Schultz would've only worn it in 1963 and only on the road in 1964. Pound that Budweiser.

Wednesday's Topps uploads (KF) 443-444 Darren Daulton; 445-448 Rick Dempsey; 449-450 Donnie Scott; 451-452 Daryl Sconiers; 453-454 Joe Schultz (Cardinals Coach); 455-456 Barney Schultz (as Cardinals, Cubs Coach); 457-458 Dave Shuler; 459-462 Ron Schueler; 463 Darold Knowles; 464 George Kopacz; 465 Doug Konieczny; 466 Gary Kolb; 467 Chris Knapp; 468-469 Bobby Knoop; 470 Sammy White; 471 Mike Greenwell; 472 Pedro Guerrero; 473-474 Andres Galarraga; 475 Don Ferrarese; 476 Jerry Hairston; 477 Don Hahn; 478 Roland Sheldon; 479 Ron Kline; 480 Bob Shaw; 481-482 Bud Daley; 483-502 NBA/ABA

Bobby Knoop 1964

It dawned on me that long ago I read a request for a good shot of Knoop during his brief tenure in Chicago. This one uploaded today was used on his '70 Topps card but it's clean save for the watermark.

Warren Spahn 1942

Since the subject came up, reposting this.

Very small, obviously, but to my knowledge the only color image of Spahn in a San Francisco uniform (Topps did not seem to have one, incidentally).
