Cusick, just to be clear, I had no intent to disparage the DTTN website. I've seen the disclaimers they have, too.
I was just looking for info on when the "OAKLAND" uniform variation was actually used. |

I made a brief scan of the internet and I couldn't find anything on this book. I assume that "2000 Cups Of Coffee" is out of print. Do you have any idea of where I can find a copy? |

If you become a member of SABR you can get one. It requires a SABR member ID and password to download from the SABR website. It's under "Research Resources" on their site.

Frank Arellanes 1908
I have one small photo of him with the 1910 Boston Red Sox, though it is admittedly low quality. For my money, I don't think you'll get much better than the Carl Horner cabinet photo that the Ramly set used.

Bryan Kelly Detroit Tigers 1986-87
Bryan Kelly seems to have been yet another of those pitchers who can throw fairly hard and strike people out but who can never quite master their control. Sparky Anderson gave Kelly a cup in 1986 and a sip in '87 before trading him to Seattle for Karl Best, who never threw a major league pitch in a Detroit uniform. There are several medium-small black & white photos of Kelly out there, but this is the only photo I have ever seen of him in color. The headshot portion of it has been seen before, but not the full mage. Here it is anyway, from autographwarehouse.com.

Al Lakeman - 1954 Detroit Tigers
Al Lakeman was a catcher who made several trips between the majors and the high minors and vice versa. His problem was that he just didn't hit enough (lifetime batting average of .203) to keep a job in the majors.(much like Bob Uecker about 20 years later).. He managed to complete four entire MLB seasons as a #2 or #3 catcher without returning to the bush leagues from 1945 to 1948. But he was what you'd refer to today as a 4A or AAAA player for the rest of his career, frequently shuttling back in forth from the majors to the minors.
His major claim to fame is probably that on June 18, 1948 while with the Phillies he caught the first major league game pitched by future Hall Of Famer, Robin Roberts. He also appeared in a game on the losing side in 1954 in he first-ever win for the Baltimore Orioles (newly converted from the St.Louis Browns). The team he spent the most time in the major leagues, however, was his first MLB team, the Cincinnati Reds. What's quite unusual is that he was able to get back to the majors for the Detroit Tigers in 1954 after a five year absence from the big leagues. This five game stint ended on May 23 of that year and it proved to be his last hurrah in the big leagues. Can anyone post photos of Lakeman from his end of career cup of coffee with the 1954 Tigers? |

Eddie Solomon - Cardinals - 1973
Fresh from the TV folders as these pics present an upgrade from my own 1976 Cardinals Photo poster. (Perhaps his pants were very long that day at Shea)
Eddie came up with the Dodgers in '73 and was traded to the Cards from their Cubbie rivals in July of '75. He played one season for the Birds with 26 Appearances across 37 Innings. http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...ml#post3538147 Last edited by hobbs11; 02-28-2017 at 01:09 PM. |

For whomever is trying to keep track of these things... In addition to the Vault uploads to folder KF, there were also a bunch of player images uploaded to folder MF, today (943 - 982, with 946--at least on my computer--blank).
