KG 717-718 is John Penn, Phillies prospect who has only been seen in Folder UU as far as I know. A custom card with another photo from the same set has been making the rounds since 2013, but has not as of this moment been officially released by the Vault that anyone documented for the baseball birthdays files.

Vault Cop Needed

Welcome to the worst Topps Vault watermark of all time.

Name: Colts Jim_Beauchamp.jpg
Views: 1158
Size: 64.2 KB

Supposedly that's Jim Beauchamp under there, but it's the only photo i'VE seen of him color with the Colts. Does anyone know what the Vault Number is for this? Can't find it, which usually means it has been mid ID'd.

Does anyone have a Vault number for this?

Thanks! You're right -- it's that image. But what has me scratching my head is I cropped it out of a custom card I have had downloaded for over a year! Me thinks I'm running afoul of Vault things that should not be known, so I will leave it be.

And I think that 719-20 is Jose Pena, a Giants MiLB catcher, 1983-89, not Ransom.
Patterson.... my guess it was taken in 1985 with Nelson Simmons in background....Patterson had been in the Yankees org in 84 and probably went to camp as a NRI in 85 ....didn't make the team and ended up going to Japan that season for his final professional season....

That is definitely Pena and not Ransom

He is a spring training invite catcher named Bob Pfaff. No, really. He previously surfaced in Folder GV376-377.

761-762 is Angels prospect Charlie Phillips. He was also in Folder GV466-469.

You have to admit the resemblance is strong...and I figured Topps was pulling another "out of alphabetical order" turn again.

I'd just like to say that I appreciate you sticking your neck out giving the IDs, and that if any of them are wrong, I don't mind. Somebody will chime in so no biggie.

I agree and it leads to this recommendation: After IDs are validated and confirmed, perhaps the author of the original listing can edit their post accordingly.

It makes it much 'cleaner' when doing a search on this great site when perusing for players. Just a thought and I really appreciate those who list and offer their confirmations. Cheers!
