Jonathan Hurst made his major league debut on June 9, 1992 for the Montreal Expos at the age of 25. He made 3 starts for the Expos in his first big league season, going 1-1 with a 5.51 ERA. In 16 1/3 innings, he allowed 18 hits, walked seven batters and struck out four.

Before the Expos got him, he was Rangers property. Rangers loaned him to the Miracle who were then a no-affiliate team in the Florida State League.I saw Hurst pitch a few times in a Miracle uniform before the Rangers moved him to AA Tulsa and then he went to the Expos in the Oil Can Boyd deal

Photo Located Robert Armstrong 1871 Fort Wayne Kekiongas - MISSING PLAYER

I've located a photo of Robert Armstrong for the 1871 Fort Wayne Kekiongas. He was pictured running for alderman in the December 8, 1905 Fort Worth Star Register.

Should be Bob Polinsky, not Bo.

There was only one Bo.. a True Legend and his name wasn't Polinsky ,

MISSING Player George "Dick" Mappes 1885 Baltimore Orioles (AA) and 1886 St. Louis Maroons (NL)

I found a woodcut of George "Dick" Mappes who caught for the 1885 Baltimore Orioles (AA) and 1886 St. Louis Maroons (NL). He was catching for the Kansas City Cowboys in 1887 and is featured in the June 23, 1887 Kansas City Times.

Pitch Types

I know this doesn't have anything to do with pictures, but could somebody tell me the pitch types for the following Brewers pitchers:

Kevin Kobel
Eduardo Rodriguez
Billy Champion
Bill Castro
Bill Travers
Tom Murphy
Marcelino Lopez

I'm trying to put together ratings for my 1971 & 74 seasons for MVP Baseball and they're not in the Neyer/James Guide to Pitchers.

Thanks a million!

Today's KG folder releases...

871-872 Ted Power
873-874 Ed Lynch
875-876 Dave Machemer
877-878 Frank MacCormack
879-880 Elliott Maddox
881-882 Pete Magrini
883-884 Wayne Pinkerton
885-888 Darrell Evans
889-892 Paul Popovich
893-894 Bill Posedel
895-896 Darrell Porter
897-898 Dennis Powell
899-900 Paul Ray Powell

871-872 is definitely Ted Power. I have met him in person a few times and that is him. However, 649-650 is not Power. My guess is Dick Baney.

Not sure which thread this should be in, but, as I'm also pointing out one of those Vault oddities, I'll put it here.

The oddity is that the Vault released images, today, in the MI folder, rather than the KG folder.

This appears to be Randy Marshall, a left-handed pitcher selected by the Tigers in the 33rd round of the 1988 draft (not to be confused with the infielder with the same name). He had a heckuva year in 1990, going 13-0 at Fayetteville, and 20-2 on the season after a promotion to Lakeland. Randy was traded to the Mets in 1992 in the deal that also brought Paul Gibson and made Tigers of Mark Careon and Tony Castillo. After a down season in '91, Randy again caught fire with the Tides in '92, getting the start in the AAA All-Star contest. He dropped off (a lot) in the second half and the Mets released him during the 1993 season. He signed with the Rockies and pitched for their Triple-A affiliate through '94, capping his career with two more seasons with the Tigers AAA farm club in Toledo. He was one of two pitchers who combined on a no-hitter for Toledo in 1996. He got a number of spring invites in the late 90s, but turned most (if not all) of them down, and went into coaching and private instruction.

Randy never pitched in the major leagues, but, according to Baseball-Reference, he was twice recalled, including once with the Mets in 1992, and just failed to get into a game. Honestly, as a Mets fan, I have no recollection of this, so maybe someone who keeps up on the Sharmanites can confirm or deny.

Randy Marshall is not on the list of known Sharman Society members. Randy was a non-roster invitee with the Tigers in 1995. As reported in the Detroit Free Press that spring, he was a replacement player.
