Besides the Dell Stamps, those Dexter pics were used by Atlantic/Richfield (now called ARCO) in 1968 as part of a money giveaway where if you got a card with a certain player's pic on it you got a cash prize or if you got the pics of two or three certain players in numerical order, you also got a cash prize. Merkle...are you familiar with those? |

Missing Player Located Alamazoo Jennings 1878 Milwauke Grays

I've located an illustration of Alamazoo Jennings of the 1878 Milwaukee Grays. He became a popular umpire and was depicted somewhat cartoonishly in the August 31, 1884 Cincinnati Commercial Tribune.

In the Hunter Dexter image, you can make out the previous name on the nameplate -- pitching coach Cot Deal.

				Joel Finch

After learning there was a second edition 1979 Sox Yearbook, I of course bought one, and I found a decent shot of another player who doesn't seem to appear anywhere else in a decent Sox image - Joel Finch

Gee, you didn't need to spend the money, I'd have scanned anybody you wanted for free. That mag does have some nice shots, doesn't it?

				Sox Yearbook

It does indeed. I didn't realize they published 2nd editions in 79 and 80 - had to get them anyway for my collection; the Finch was an added bonus.

				Ron Clark 1966

Yes, Topps would rather us not post images from its storage website (as in, Don't). No, they don't care if we post images from its offerings once they reach eBay. We can even clean them up a little. And these are humdingers. This is peripatetic utility infielder Ron Clark, photographed just before or just after the last at bat of his big league career, a strikeout as a pinch-hitter in the 10th inning against the Mets' Jerry Koosman in the second game of a twi-night doubleheader in New York on Friday, September 26, 1975. George Brace got Clark in Chicago (the Phillies were at Wrigley on September 13 and 14) but these shots of him are striking because that pinch-hitting job was Clark's only game appearance in Philly garb. Clark started with the Twins and then went to the Pilots, the A's for two tours, the Brewers, and the one-AB swan song with the Phils. I recall checking Clark's file to see if he had been captured with Seattle (and he had) but I do not remember seeing him in a Philly uni. (As an aside to Cinemaodyssey: the Dexter Cleveland '67 shoot was abysmal. I've posted a couple here and they're so heavily shadowed as to be almost useless. I'll have another look for Siebert and Wagner. I'm afraid I have nothing on Roy Foster). |

I don't think you'll find any Roy Foster Indians pics from '67. Foster was still in the Pirates system at that time.

				1967 Indians

Thanks Merkle, and I'm not surprised they didn't care much for the Indians that year...they were not exceedingly good.
