Willie Adams 1912
I'm not sure what the interest level is on this board for the Federal League, but I thought I'd post a few photo upgrades to previous FL players in the Facepack.
All of the following come from the 1914 Pittsburgh Rebels team photo. |

Hugh Bradley 1910
Previously played for the Red Sox, Bradley had his best season on the 1914 Rebels.

Obscure player who pitched a grand total of 8 games.

Jack Lewis 1911
Starting second baseman for the Rebels, I assume by default, as he was well below average offensively even in the Federal League.

Ralph Mattis 1914
Only played in the 1914 season and didn't impress, appearing as a utility outfielder in 36 games.

Tex McDonald 1912
Utility player for the 1914 Rebels, who actually hit pretty well and then got traded mid-season to Buffalo.

Cy Rheam 1914
Imagine having the luxury of being able to call to the plate Rheam and his amazing .262 Slugging % anytime you wished. Somehow he got into 73 games in 1914 and hung on to make the 1915 team too.

Skipper Roberts 1913
Roberts was their other backup catcher, and nobody really seemed to want to keep him around as he bounced back and forth in the Federal League.

Jimmie Savage 1912
Though he offered little power, Savage did walk a lot and had a very good OBP. He was the Rebels starting right fielder.

John Scott 1914
Along with relief pitcher Ed Henderson, backup shortstop Scott is one of the most obscure players I've come across. He only played in 8 games in the now defunct Federal League.

Mysterious Walker 1910
The biggest mystery about Walker is why he kept getting the chance to be a starting pitcher when he couldn't win any games. He finished his career at a robust 7-23.

Randy Elliott 1972 (in 1980)
Noticed him on a Unicorn List posted just as I began my hiatus. The color isn't the best (it was so muggy that night that everything looked this washed-out) but the provenance is. I took this at Yankee Stadium in late June, 1980, about a week before the end of Elliott's major league career.

Welcome back, Merkle. You had earlier posted a pic of Danny Walton as a Dodger that has been removed. I would love to have it, as I just started compiling pics for the 1976 season. Thanks.
